Nice rooms and great location for bus into city No coffee in lobby after 9 am , breakfast buffet seemed hurried and not enough to feed guests
Plenty of parking, clean room
Clean, roomy, acomodating and helpful staff hideaway bed was unuseable due to hard ridges and bumps as well as troughs, had to share king with two daughters like sardines in a can. Air conditioning complicated and hard to use. Slow internet, plus it timed out after 24 hours (despite our having a 2 day stay).
Excellent Service with professional staff
Friendly teen trying to do the best to satisfying us. Clean and excellent Non
For the amount of money to say here you'd think the tv would have worked. We chose this hotel because we wanted a luxurious stay in a plush setting. It wasn't any better than a Best Western. Breakfast was served till 10 am but we had to wait in line for 47 minutes to eat. No bagels or bread left when we finally got our eggs because it was almost 10:30! Really disappointed and wish we had looked for a Best Western.
Great staff Great Clean 24/7 galley Easy TV hook up Consider we only stayed in the cheaper room it felt very luxurious. Would definitely use this chain again and reccomend. Breakfast was disappointed (not the cooks) the quality of the hot food was airline coach. Only compliant.
One of the more affordable in comparison to the others nearby. Overall, a good option. bathrooms were a bit outdated.
The staff was awesome. Very friendly and very helpful, even when they were super busy! We had to lock something up behind the desk, had to ask for directions, etc, during our 5-night stay, and they were always very friendly. Really like the location across the street from the bus stop into Times Square, and the hot breakfast! More biscuits and gravy for breakfast, please!
Location is good. Bus stop is near hotel and Manhattan too (15 minutes). Children not pay for bus on weekend. Breakfast: egg is like artificial.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The cook to order part of breakfast was fantastic, both cooks giving personal treatment to guests. Room was spacious with provision of fridge and microwave (which I did not expect). In all, I'm very happy with my stay in this hotel and will stay there again. Lack of free WiFi in the hotel and what is disappointing is if you request WiFi, you have to pay for whole 24 hours. This is the 21st century, not good enough.
Good location - public transport available to New York Have to pay for wireless internet - not industru standard for this class of hotels - should be free. Had to wait for ages to get to the internet.
Great ceilings! Breakfast is a bit bland.
The location made access to Manhattan and the sites easy , in general 20 minutes to Times Square, room size was excellent staff very helpful Nothing
I was very impressed with the setup of the hotel lobby and the room. Having an area to relax in at the room was pleasurable. The best part was the great breakfast that was included in our stay! Quite a savings! The pool was a bit small.
The Hotel was quiet, clean. Good access to Manhatan via the bus 320 in front of the hotel. Staff helpful. Menu at the restaurant quite a short choice.
-Staff was very helpful -Location was tremendous, 1 block from Times Square -Excellent elevators. Customized for each individual. Enter your room # and it tells you which elevator to use. Time in elevators or waiting for elevators reduced dramatically. -rooms a bit small -bathroom very tight
The atmosphere is create and good vibes all around. I love the style of Decor
Location of hotel. The hotel's food court Resort fee (whatever that was) was too high. Room tv with HBO did not work
The room was way to small. I never been in a place like this. I call the front desk to see if they change the room and they do nothing
I don't like it Cause the room was dirty
The elevators speed very fast. Very comfortable beds. Very quite for most part except for outdoor noise which is unavoidable but not bad at all. Clean rooms. Great staff. The security is well above the norm, made us feel very safe. Locating is very convenient to all parts of the city. Loved the location. Rooms are small but we didn't come to sit in the room. There were two of us and we were comfortable wouldn't have wanted anymore than two in the room that we stayed in. For our first visit to NYC we had a fabulous time and enjoyed the hotel very much.. Lobby gets very crowded at times. Travelers using elevators for first time doesn't even consider that someone might be getting off the elevator and they crowd the door to the point you can't get off. No reflection on the Row but just be warned you can get run over before you get off the elevator.
Friendly staff at check-in. Door man helpful and fast getting car checked and checked out for trip home. Clean room but a small. Ok for an overnight stay. Close to Times Square, theatres, and midtown sights. Music in elevators very loud.
city kitchen tiny room. provide nothing that is needed including gowns, slippers, water.. not like a 4 star hotel.
The Location thats about it For Manhattan the price was not bad Room is small Walls are thin - loud hallways No movies on demand NO MINIBAR No full length mirror No Room Service
Great hotel in the middle of everything, next to subway line. Inside hotel is the City Kitchen where you have a "food court" with many renamed local restaurants. Included breakfast was so so, not the best but good. Very clean room, they cleaned our room every day. Eight elevators, but always very busy. Extremely small room, very noisy on 7th floor (at night all trucks and constructions work and you hear everything in the room). Thanks God we got the "Deluxe City view" because it was supposed to be a bit bigger. The view is not as good as other in the area but its ok for the price. One night we found a small worm in the ice from the ice machine. They should have better beds. But over all its the best option for the $$.
Swanky lobby doesn't translate to the rooms, which are cramped and awkwardly layed out. This is bottom end, despite the trendy sounding name. How anyone would rate this a 4 star property is beyond me. For first night of two night stay my room was oversold. They sent me to the Hyatt Times Square; much nicer.
Location and the food and bar area
Great accommodating staff. Helpful concierge. So close to Times Square & all the theaters, so perfect for the 1st time visitor. Clean & comfortable. Beds are nice & cozy. Pool is part of the gym inside the building, so it's only a lap pool. Not for lounging & definitely not for kids. There is a sauna which would be nice in the winter. Very busy hotel! Not a relaxing lobby or even many places to sit (only 4 chairs & some makeshift areas around the plants)! No mini fridge in room.
The website we booked from describes the upper lounge which no longer exists. The in-room guide describes the Room Service Menu. Room service no longer exists.
Great hotel if you're a tourist and want to be in Times Square - easy walking distance to many attractions and not too far can / uber ride to others. The rooms were nice and clean, the maids always bought us new soaps, razors, toothpaste, towels etc. some of the staff are seriously awful. My partner has a severe allergy to nuts, and we had issues with two waiters there who seemed preoccupied and had to ask a manager to go and confirm if there was nuts in a dish she wanted for dinner or not. The waiter made us feel awful and then progressively got ruder (getting in our faces, yelling, etc) after the manager had been involved. We did get given a few free drinks and a box of chocolates from management (although she couldn't have the chocolates due to nuts) But otherwise we had a lovely stay, only ruined by a few staff members who need to learn if you work in a service job it's part of your job to at least TRY and be polite and understanding!
Location was good They dont encourage people booking hotel from other web sites They prefer it from there site and they help them only . I was staying in hotel for times square view Not for other view Overall worat experience
Location, Location, Location!
The most unfriendly staff I have encountered at a hotel
Location Paid $275 for after show party in the restaurant All they had was 4-5 items of Chinese food and open bar. No menus for food nor drinks. Grumpy wait staff.
Service, location, beds, rooms were right size, showers.
It was in a perfect location in Times Square. A few blocks from the subway. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Needs some updating/maintenance. For the price you pay for location, seems they could upkeep better. All 3 drawers in our dresser didn't close properly, off track or something. Bathrooms could use some new caulk, gappy and dirty looking.
My wife has a convention here once a year in January so I tag along. We had a stunning view of Broadway and Times Square from our corner room on the 45th floor (out of 46). Room was clean. Service is friendly and courteous. Bell Captain kept our bags for us after checkout so we could do a bit of sight-seeing until we had to go to the airport. When it was time to get our bags, he walked them down to the taxi stand for us and made sure we had a cab. Wi-fi seemed a bit slow.
Location of the Crowne Plaza Times Square was perfect and centrally located. The Concierge, Corinne, was amazing. She gave great tips, directions, and was so personable and friendly. Our room was awesome, with a great view. The exercise facility was great, many areas to work out in and a large variety of equipment. All staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time.
The location was good. Their concierge staff were nice . Check in was quick .we were givin compound of 2 free complimentary drinks from their bar but we did nit use it.wifi was included in the service fees but also I did not need to use it. When I checked in the toilet was ful of hair & there was a nail on the toilet table .generally the housekeeping service is not good. I noticed that paper napkin was not refilled as if they are saying you have to use one box per stay
clean and mid town so all the attraction you can cover by walk breakfast was not included while we expected bed and breakfast
Room service. Cold, stale food
It was close to all the places we wanted to see. Walk to Times Square, subway nearby, etc.. Lots of restaurants all around. We had a corner room so view in 2 directions! Nothing
Clean room with a comfortable bed. The hotel is very centrally located with many attractions close by. Staff was very efficient and friendly. The walls are paper thin and we had very loud neighbors. We could hear everything going on in the room next door. Unfortunately the neighbors were very inconsiderate and we had to call down to security to ask them to be quiet.
Location, Location For the money we aid, we should have a t lest a coffe maker in room/water
Location check in staff
Nice sized room for NY. Updated and modern. Heat was stuck on high and it was super hot. Luckily the windows work and we could get a cold breeze. Pillows were fluffy and flat at the same time.
Great location, good room comfort. When you book the price seems to be great, but then you find that the Internet is not included and also the bagage keeping has a cost.
Great location. Close to Times Square, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center. Large rooms for a New York hotel. Very professionally run and business like facility. High energy level with constant activity in the public areas. It isn't cheap but you can easily pay more for less value in NYC.
Clean, spacious rooms that are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Too difficult to get the internet. You have to join their club or jump through hoops daily.
Very clean, great location! I have stayed here a few times and always have a nice time there. The cleaning staff is so friendly. The food at the hotel is very expensive. I searched all over for an atm machine and couldn't find one. The lines for the elevator can be a bit long
We loved our view of the city, the lady at front desk upgraded our room at no charge, clean rooms, friendly staff, within walking distance of everything, will definitely stay here again Breakfast buffet way overpriced for the quality
The is the one of the best locations in the theater district. Most of the major theaters are located within three blocks of the hotel. The same day ticket office is located yards away from the hotel so you can get up early to get your ticket and then return to your room. The hotel entrance is right off times square. The hotel is clean large and and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Many family oriented dining establishments are nearby as well as easy access to the subway and various tour operators. The hotel is large and is used as a convention facility. So if you do not like large crowds and being in the location that is busy and very active during the evening hours, this is not the place for you.
The View Restaurant was absolutely amazing. Room was lovely. Staff was knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Leaving!
Our stay was fine. The staff was friendly, the room was clean. As one would expect for $400/night. The ticket counter for local shows was very helpful/convenient. automated elevator system crammed too many people into each trip testing the fire alarm system each day that we stayed very uncomfortable sofa bed mattress (felt every spring)
Great location and some great views. They apperently give every person in the hotel access to the executive lounge. I'm used to a crowd at times but this was crazy. They need to either expand the lounge or enforce the entry policy.
Location Response time of the staff and high cost to eat hotel restaurant...
View Restaurant staff was great! Nice suite with view of Broadway. Construction noise in the morning.
Very Nice Hotel with a lot of action Expensive
The did not clean the room very well
People at front desk were nice The customer service at the view lounge was terrible. The lady that served us did not believe that we enter staying at the hotel and Saud very loud that the room number that we gave her did not exist and I showed her my key. She was very rude we felt embarrased.
Location No elite services on weekends - $ charge to print out boarding pass - failed to clean room - front desk staff was not guest oriented - platinum member - will look for other hotels.
Location was perfect . Check in and check out is very easy and staff was very friendly . We request for double bed and sofa we paid more to get room like that but sofa was too old to sleep on and they bring us roller bed but matteres was very uncomfortable that u can feel all the metal under the sheet.
The renovation last year really upgraded this NYC classic. Now the interiors are just as lux as the classic facade. Great location in Times Square but quiet and tranquil retreat inside. Great service and really friendly staff. We enjoyed our girls weekend immensely. Avoid if you don't like fighting through crowds at Times Square.
The Knockerbocker was a very nice hotel with a great location. My only complaint was the day that we left, we stored our bags for a few hours. When we came back to pick them up, it took 20 minutes or so to get them. I had to catch a flight. The front desk was unapologetic about it. They just stood at the desk, while customers waited and were dissatisfied. They need to make sure they are staffed properly at a busy time, and if not, other staff should pitch in. It should be a group effort, because it makes the hotel better as a whole.
2 queen beds made this hotel perfect for our family of four. Located right on Times Square, the hotel held our bags after checkout while we went across the street to see a Broadway show.
We came for the birth of my first grandchild.the hotel is very modern and sleek. Our room was large and well appointed with all of the modern technological conveniences. The mattress was very comfortable with high thread count linens. The bathroom was large and had more bath accessories than I have ever seen. I.e. Cuff links, tooth brush, paste, etc. I loved the large soaking tub. We never heard any outside noise even though this hotel is located in Times Square From the front desk to the doorman, the service was incredible. Leilani, one of the managers even gave us a gift for the new baby. I would highly recommend this hotel!
Impeccable service Immaculate rooms Excellent location between Times Square and Bryant Park Can't complain about anything.
Great place to stay. Very sheik and hip. Roof Top Bar is out of this world!!!
Once you get past the unprepossessing lobby, the hotel is really excellent. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was large, comfortable and well-appointed. It was bitterly cold so we ate in the hotel, choosing the bar's little plate menu over the Vlentine's Day special menu; each choice was delicious. Large, contemporary bar and restaurant (maybe showing a little wear on the cushions) and excellent service. Location, right on the corner of Times Square, can't be beat if you want to be in the middle of it all. Not cheap, but we weren't on a penny pinching trip. Worth every penny. Special mention to the concierge for fulfilling a couple special requests. As noted, the lobby is decidedly underwhelming although the staff was friendly and helpful. Otherwise, no complaints!
Clean spacious rooms, good service, not great wi-fi
Location was near Broadway shows, subway, and lotsa shops/restaurants. Staff was friendly n helpful. I received a parking ticket in front of hotel while I was checking in !
Liked the location of our room w/ a great view Comfortable bed & sheets Liked the history of the hotel and the decor - Liked its location and taxis availability The check-in host was going to extend our check out time to 2 pm since it was my birthday and we checked in around 5 pm. However this wasn't noted in the computer.
Bathroom walls poorly painted, TV very small, no fridge (refrigerator). In itself very expensive for poor quality.
Loved the location. Liked the room cleanliness. Very small room for three people. Good thing we only stayed for one night!
Poorly disclosed 30$/day facility fee
2 bathrooms for one room made it extra convienent. Clean rooms. Ask for a room with a view. You can't go wrong. Didn't have any issues with anything.
Nothing. Bed was super hard. Rooms are tiny.
Location is great. Price wasn't bad. Even though I booked and prepaid for our stay, they charged us 23 per night for "facility fee". When I asked what was for, they said "it's a required fee for wifi". I tried to say we didn't need wifi, but the gentleman said "sorry, it's a required fee". There is also some construction going on, which woke us up at 730am. When look outside, there was a cord. They didn't alert us about construction, and neither told us to make sure our curtains were closed. Rooms are also a bit outdated and small.
You cant beat the location, across the street from Madison Square, walk to Macys, and just a few minutes to Time Square. If you get a remodeled room the place is okay. Clean, but small, lots of road noise and no privacy due to thin walls. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. THE SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! RECEPTIONIST SAID THE ROOM WOULD BE READY IN AN HOUR AND SHE WOULD CALL TO LET US KNOW. 4 HOURS LATER STILL NO CALL. WE RETURNED AT 430 AND THE ROOM WAS STILL NOT READY. NEEDLES TO SAY SHE NEVER CALLED. This place has college students living in half of the rooms, so theres constant noise. If you have small children, or are looking for a private place for couples this is not the place. If you just need somewhere to crash and hangout in the city it works. The location is great, the rooms are clean, and its affordable. IF YOU BOOK THROUGH GET A ROOM / KAYAK PLAN ON YOUR RESERVATION NOT BEING IN THE SYSTEM WHEN YOU ARRIVE. THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM.
The location was the best! The hotel is okey, but the prices are not...
None The room size is very small. The hotel itself is outdated. The only thing going for them is the location to Madison Square Garden.
Came down from Boston and wanted to stay near Penn Station to make traveling home easier. The location was good since it's a quick five minute walk to the train. My biggest complaint is that the hotel charged me an extra $25 fee for the business lounge, phones and wifi, which they didn't disclose to me at all. In fact, when I checked in, they touted their guest wifi as a feature of the hotel. You can imagine my surprise then when I woke up with a paper invoice slipped underneath my door in the middle of the night demanding I pay $25 for a "facilities fee." Seems like they are nickel-and-diming their customers to squeeze out every last dollar of an already expensive hotel. Beyond the hiddens fees, I stayed in a Double Metro room with a colleague. The room was a bit cramped without much room to move around. There were only two accessible outlets in the entire room, so charging phones and laptops between meetings was impossible for both of us at once. The others outlets either used European plugs or were inaccessible behind the headboards of the beds. In the middle of the night, the room became inexplicable hot and since you can't open the windows, there was really no way to cool it down. The shower fluctuated back and forth between frigid and scalding hot every 5 seconds. All in all, the facilities were so so and I was thankful my tripped was only schedule for one night.
Rates were reasonable and conveniently located near NYC. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The only concern was the walk from where the bus lets you off to the hotel...it was a bit spooky at night. Wish there was a safer means to return to the hotel via bus.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We did not have any problems with our room, and found it extremely clean. The hotel is steps away from a bus stop that takes you right to the Port Authority terminal in NYC, which we found very convenient (return buses drop you off across the street from hotel- not a far walk). The hotel staff were very courteous and provided very good information and tips regarding NYC. The only problem we had was that we had to wait in line to check in (given it was a Friday around 3:30pm) as there was only one desk clerk on duty at that time.
Hotel was very nice. Rooms were very spacious. The staff was very friendly and spoke English. The bus picked us up right out side our hotel to go right into NYC. You can buy a round trip ticket for a few bucks. Couldn't of asked for a better place to stay. Great resturants right across the street. Easy to find. Kid friendly. I just can't say enough. Was just a great place to stay and was so easy to get the bus back to the hotel. Recommend highly for those people who don't want to drive into NYC or stay in the over priced hotels downtown. It has a great secured parking garage. Never had to move my car all weekend. I will stay again!
Only stayed one night each time but consistency counts for a lot these days. Very friendly at the front desk. Room, bed, and bathroom very clean. Wait staff at breakfast friendly and helpful. A little high priced but all hotels in the area are. Location is inflexible but worth going a little out of the way for. Could be quieter but not that bad given the surrounding highways.
From the momenty I walked into the lobby of the hotel. I felt very welcome. The hotel was extremely clean and inviting. The room was perfect size for a couple and was in perfect location to Hoboken, NJ and New York City.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Sept. 29 - Oct 2. 2010, while waiting to go on a cruise out of New York City. Since this was our first trip to the NYC area we were concerned about where to stay, park etc. This Hotel was perfect. The bus will pick you up directly in front of the Hotel, and take you into the City, to the Port Authority, cost, $*. Then you can catch the bus back, and get off about one block from the Hotel. We checked in early, no problem, and went directly to our room, which was clean, large, and frunished nicely. During check- in, the clerk ask if we were going to the City, and gave us maps, directions, and all the info we would need. Very very helpful. We would stay here again and hope you do too. Another plus, free covered parking, even while we were on the week cruise!!!!!!!!!
We stayed in this hotel and used it as the base for our visiting New York City and surrounding areas. When we got there the pool was closed, a great dissapointment, but that only lasted one day. Once open, both the pool and hot tub were very nice. The fitness center is nothing special, but is adequate. We did not eat there as the prices seemed very high. The bus to go to Times Square was very close to the hotel and the drop off point coming back was about 3 blocks away. If there is an elderly person involved, that would be very tough to navigate, but everyone in my group was able to walk okay. Unfortunately, there is only one restaurant close to the hotel and for anything beyond that, we had to walk about 3 blocks, including crossing a busy road. The rooms were adequate. We were given a non smoking room, but it was obvious the last people smoked and the staff did not clean it. They did not have available rooms, so they did a deeper clean to it while we went to dinner. The room was okay from there, but the hallway smelled like smoke the whole time. Most of the staff was very friendly and the boys loved the warm cookies around dinner time! Overall I was happy with the experience and would stay there again.
Close to the city which was a main attraction so we could get in and out without much difficulty. We'd stay there again.
Also, it was a very quick trip to Manhattan from the nearby bus stop. I was lead to beieve that bus picked up at the hotel and dropped at the bus stop. We had to walk to the stop as well which we didn't really mind. We had to pay for breakfast but it was a good value as everything was available. The made to order eggs your way was very nice. There wasn't much to choose from for nearby restaurants. However, the shopping mall may have had some that we missed. Night traffic was noisy on our side of the building. I wore earplugs.
The bus to NYC stopped right in front of the hotel on the way in, on the way back you had to walk from the Home Depot but not a big problem. Hotel desk staff were excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was good if you prepared yourself, very slow if ordering. Room was very clean however comforter on bed had been washed so often (which is good) that fiber-filling was lumped at the bottom (which was bad). Public restrooms were very clean. Would definitely go back again.
I messaged ahead of time for some extra towels and i did receive some extra towels before i even made it to the room. that was a plus. Over all a quite stay peaceful stay, some kids were running around outside but that's what kids do(it gave the place a family vibe). Made a call to get the tv fixed since it wasn't working when we got there. I was notified to wait 20 mins for some one to come fix it. Left the room for lunch and 2 hours later, the tv was still the same. (phone desk person knew exactly was i was talking about, since he was fast to offer a solution and need no explanation or details)
Clean, large accomadation and great price. I will definitely stay here again. Nothing
Excellent customer service. Location was great. Price was decent. The bed was very uncomfortable. I had difficulty sleeping on it. There were no vending machines on the floors. I had to go down to the lobby to purchase beverages and they were very overpriced.
Right by the bus stop that brings you straight to NYC port authority!
Excellent breakfast, close to shops, restaurants, and transportation into NYC

Clean, modern hotel with free parking and breakfast The shuttle service was disappointing. It only ran on the half hour. Even after scheduling the shuttle in advance, we had to wait 15-20 minutes and call a second ti e for its arrival 2 of 3 times. After waiting 20 mins the second time,we took taxi.
Good location, close to bus stop to NYC. Clean and spacious room. Free parking and breakfast.
The location of this hotel is ideal. It's next to an array of restaurants and shops. The hotel is brand new and the rooms are clean, large, and nicely designed. My biggest complaint is housekeeping. It took them 1.5 hours to bring additional towels. After cleaning our room, they did not replace hand towels or leave an extra roll of toilet paper, so we ran out.
The location was perfect if you're looking to stay outside of downtown NYC. It was very close to public transportation that takes you straight to Times Square. The price was very affordable for the star level. Nothing.

Everything starting from the staff and ending with the breakfast. Hotel was clean and quiet. I really enjoyed the stay. Nothing!
Very friendly, responsive staff. Great location. The superior king room we had was very small, like Paris hotel room small. The bed could have been firmer
Ideal location. Small but well appointed room. Had a great deal so excellent value; likely not great value for money at regular rates, but in that location, would be hard find better options.
Great location, just steps from Central Park, shopping, restaurants, etc. Nice decor. The $25 fee per guest. Really? What a rip off. BUT, it includes free wifi! And a bottle of water! Many hotels offer wifi and water for free to anyone that signs up for their loyalty/rewards program (which is free!) You do get a $10 credit, though, which can be used to purchase a $20 drink on the roof top. Stop gaming your customers.
Location, roof top Small room, needs renovation - room looks outdated, paper thin walls - can hear everything from next door, expensive for what you get
Nice upscale, modern and hip boutique hotel. Close to my work in midtown and 6 1/2 Ave. Friendly and consistent staff. Fantastic in room amenities. Comfy bed and nice big bathroom, robes and slippers.
definitely a different style hotel but we still loved the concept. staff was very friendly. we would definitely stay here again. since there wasn't any superfluous people like bell boys or concierge desks, I wish I saw a lil more savings and value in the price to stay here.
Private rooftop bar and cozy lobby hangout space. European style breakfast lounge and 24 hr snack pantry. Room was small (though big for New York!) yet thoughtfully laid out with clever use of space. Fun/funky upscale low key vibe just perfect. Midtown location excellent for exploring NYC and checking out theatre scene. Daily complimentary bottled water. Friendly, helpful staff If you pay for your breakfasts when you check in you save a couple bucks vs. paying on day of. I can understand that you'd want to have an estimate of how many diners they will be but, come on, this felt a little nickel and dime-y when everything else was so seamless.
The only thing I can save from my stay was the location, it's not far from places of sightseeing and they have a metro station right in front of the hotel but that's the only thing I can think of. The hotel is just awful, the staff is just unfriendly and very rude, I had a problem with one of the employees and they could even apologize even do they almost ruin my hole stay there. The room is just sad, is very very small, so dirty and the bed will make you cry, we had to sleep over the bed because the sheets and everything was just disgusting. Really don't stay here is not worth it and you are going to regret booking here, I did...
Absolutely nothing. It was, by far, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Rooms are from the 80's. Dirty and smell like cigarettes. Staff is unfriendly unwilling to answer the most simple of questions. The valet service is a joke. It took us 1.5 hours to get our vehicle back when we checked out.
This place is a zoo. The people working here were unpleasant. The lobby was stuffed full of people all the time. They charge $5 to keep your bags if you get there before 3 or to hold them until you leave. (Note - the guy working in the bag room was actually very nice, unlike everyone else who seemed terribly bothered by things like checking us in). The tub in our room was peeling so badly it looked like a crime scene. The bed was like a board. The 2 pillows on the bed were the thinnest pillows I've ever seen. The lobby was nice (except the 100 people who seemed to be perpetually camped out in it), but the rooms haven't been updated since 1911. God forbid you need to call the desk for something. There are many lovely boutique hotels and options nearby. Stay away from this one.
Nothing. I would recommend kayak remove this hotel from their booking options. It was rated 4.5 out of 5 stars and was the worst hotel I have ever seen. I travel all the time and use you guys to book flights etc. This was my first experience booking a hotel and I will never utilize the service again. I am having to battle with you guys to get money back for a place that was so low quality we didn't feel safe sleeping there. We encountered serious issues upon arrival. We looked at two different rooms and decided due to the condition of the hotel and the utter disarray of the rooms that we could not stay there. We are working back trying to get our money back as we had to make other sleeping arrangements.
Bell Hop took bags to room. I gave a $10 dollar tip for 10 minutes of his time. He looked at me and asked.."Really only $10 that is all my time is worth to you"? It was my first time in New York so I took back the $10 and gave him $20. I was later told by other staff the Ball Hop was in the wrong and that I should have taken his name and reported him. Rooms were ok at best. Not super clean.
Leaving If only this site would allow me to add pictures... The room was the most disgusting four walls I have ever laid eyes on. It stunk of sewage and there was something dried that was dripping down the walls, TV (from 1982) and the window. It was absolutely horrendous. The manager was rude and dismissive when I informed him of the situation. The maids attempted to enter our room twice within 10 minutes at 9 AM without any attempt to warn us. This hotel made a terrible terrible end to an otherwise great trip. Shame on them for their complete lack of anything resembling customer service or a freaking sponge or can of paint. Disgusted
The doors locked Took over an hour to check in, and out?!?!? The rooms were gross.
Location Outdated rooms, slowness to check and out, limit on towels no bath clothes, issue with elevator
The location was convenient and it was easy to get to all different places around the city. The rooms could use a bit of updating but we were not in that much. Just to sleep.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location
Location Mold in bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. Thin towels. Mentioned to staff they said that's what you get when reservation are made on kayak.
Staff was very unconcerned with complaints Had to have clothing sent to laundry to be decontaminated due to bedbugs-they lost some of my items. While they did comp our room due to bedbugs, the manager has yet to respond to my complaint of lost items and additional expenses. I was promised that my clothing would be returned within a the day-took 2 days. i had to buy a winter coat (as mine was sent out for decontamination). still waiting to be reimbursed.
Zachary at the front desk was wonderful! All of the staff were so pleasant. The fresh flowers in the lobby were just beautiful. The art in residence program showcased interesting pieces of art throughout the hotel. The rooms were lovely, comfortable bed, very clean - an all around 10 out of 10 stay! nothing negative.
Great Location and wonderful people made this place worth being in NYC!!! Nothing...
Location Poor a/c - room was very warm. Bathroom was small and bed wasn't that comfortable
Perfect location. Great value for money.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was excellent for our needs. The hotel is tired and worn. It needs an injection of cash to update and refresh the rooms and fixtures. It wasn't the worst place to stay because it was clean and the location was great. The front desk was understaffed at both check-in and check-out. This created long lines and long waits. We had to wait an hour for our room to be ready because they were behind on their turn-overs and we arrived at 8PM. They need to hire more staff for peak times.
The location was ideal as it was close to tourist attractions. Lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas and had a very festive luxurious feel. The rooms however were comfortable, standard but clean and gave Bath and Body Works as complimentary toiletries which was a nice touch. Staff were also friendly. Chargable WIFI - We live in a day and age where communication abroad is important to some. Free WIFI should've been included with the room as it wasn't cheap to book here and would be nice if it was complimentary like other hotels in the area. Also we stayed in room 754 where the air con fan wouldn't switch off (in December)!
Location Room facility
Very good, central location on 7th Avenue. Just a few blocks from Times Square, Central Park, immediately adjacent to Broadway...can easily walk (or use subway) to anywhere in Midtown. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Had a decent breakfast bar in the lobby with very kind, courteous employees staffing it. Was an enjoyable visit every morning, though it's primarily only got muffins, fruit, and coffee. Room was very minimalist and small. Bed was not particularly comfortable. TV only has a few channels and reception was fuzzy on about half of them. Wi-fi is not free - costs roughly $15 per day, less if you buy several days' worth of usage up front. Noise from the street below was pretty noticeable; it would have been very difficult to tune it out completely had I not been using ear plugs. Basically, it's cheaper than the other (nicer, I would assume) hotels in the area, but the location could make it worthwhile if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room...and it's NYC, so why would you? Spend a lot of time out in Manhattan, making use of the great location, and you won't mind the facilities as much.
Being close to Broadway, Central Park and Rockefeller Center. The staff was very helpful.
Location Too noisy
Location 1. No communication by hotel staff. They tried to place us in a room that is half the size of a regular room without even telling us when we checked in. We found about this when we actually entered the room. After that we had to reconcile this very uncomfortable and unexpected experience. 2. Hotel management spent 10 minutes explaining how they cannot keep the fully paid room and that upon check in they will place and assign the room of their availability. Why bother and pay in advance if there is no guarantee? 3. We didn't feel hospitality was there at all. It truly came across as just another place interested in making money rather than building long lasting experience 4. Hotel is definitely run down and it stinks super bad. 5. We would not recommend this hotel and definitely would not have given it 3 stars. Stay some place else!
Noise from nearby club was very present in the room every night until 2AM
