Pros: Excellent friendly staff. Food in the restaurant is very good.
Cons: Breakfast was ok but would have liked a better selection. Think our expectations were high following the great food we’d had in the restaurant the previous evening.

Pros: The steak and service at dinner was exemplorary. The rooms are beautifucally decorated and the jacuzzi style bath was amazing. Great bar area and very friendly and helpful staff. The pub has been renovated to a very high standard and looks very trendy.
Cons: My only very small negative was breakfast. Ordered eggs benedict, both eggs were not runny, hardly any hollandaise sauce and the toast was cold so very dry and hard to eat without the sauce and runny eggs. If I wasn't in a rush I would of sent back and im sure it would of been resolved. I would still stay here again.

Pros: Great welcome from staff. Lovely comfortable room overlooking the park, good for walking after busy day. Hamiltons restaurant had good selection of freshly prepared food in evening. Breakfast in bar area, lots of choice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast with a wide choice of food. Beautiful bedrooms and amazing showers. I booked a meal for 5 in the evening and the were able to accommodate us at short notice. Excellent food.
Cons: The staff muddled the cocktail order and gave the 2 cocktails we originally considered but changed for the 2 for 1 deal. We had the wrong cocktails and were told we would only be charged for the 2 for 1 deal. We alerted the staff we had cocktails, preventing them from making the 2 for 1 deal. Unfortunately, we were charged for the two cocktails. My guest paid for the wine including a bottle of wine £20 + two cocktails. When I left on Sunday I was also charged for a bottle of wine £20. I queried the bill and was given a £20 refund.

The Anvil Lodge - Shifnal - Bedroom

Pros: Great hosts, clean and spacious room, parking onsite, pub next door, walking distance to town centre, excellent breakfast in shared dining room

Pros: Lovely and clean.
Cons: Everything spot on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find, ample parking, lovely friendly welcome, very clean and lovely breakfast of our choice.
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was large and clean. Two people could stay for a week and there would be ample wardrobe space. Breakfast was a decent size and tasty. Owners were talkative.
Cons: I have a huge bug-bear with a room being described as double when the bed is two singles pushed together. You either have to spend the night squeezed into one single together or you feel like you are sleeping miles apart. Breakfast was served with all guests from all rooms sitting at the same table. It felt strange sitting so close to somebody I don’t know, whilst eating breakfast. Check in time was 5pm, which I thought was quite late and check out was 10am, which I thought was quite early. We were asked for our breakfast order on arrival. I don’t really know what I’m going to fancy for breakfast the night before. I felt that the issues listed above made the price feel a bit too high. If you want a really large room with lots of wardrobe space plus a bath and a shower then it might be worth paying that bit more for but given that we only had a window of 17 hours in the room it wasn’t really that important to us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts Super clean Lovely breakfast Would book again without hesitation
Cons: Leaving!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a B&B with nice, clean, new-furnished rooms and a very good breakfast. It is ideal if you like the kind of communal breakfast (ie all at one table) that perhaps only a land lord who was once land lord and barman of the pub next door - yes he was! - could provide. One of us was delayed by crises and also had to leave early and all that was taken in stride. We received a friendly welcome and had a good time.
Cons: For us : ideal. ... If you were wanting your breakfasts left to yourselves and not at a communal table where the landlord holds forth testing his views on the visiting community - you have been warned!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated room, staff lovely, nothing too much trouble. Fabulous full English breakfast. Will definitely visit again.
6.7 Good
Pros: The service, staff and food were all excellent
Cons: The carpets were worn and looked very grubby. This detracted from an otherwise good experience
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff, food and other facilities were very good - especially the staff who definitely went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful.
Cons: The 1 thing that was somewhat disappointing was that the room (Executive Double) was a lot smaller than the photos seemed to show. With 2 of us in the room it was a constant challenge where to put things without blocking the walkways and the bathroom although it had a lovely shower was so compact that shutting the door to get some privacy was a fight each time.

Pros: Best breakfast we have had in an hotel and we have had loads
Cons: All good it’s a quaint old hotel plumbing just about adequate lovely place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After 30 years returning to the place where it all started, it has not lost any of its character and charm, the drive down to the hotel was timed to the exact time we arrived all those years ago, the welcome we received ,very friendly .Greeted at the door by Lucy made the start of our stay magical , the staff were very friendly, courteous &, nothing was too much trouble, the Hotel was very clean, the room was spacious and well equipped to a high standard, the radio was playing classical music which added to the atmosphere along with the welcoming homemade treats...
Cons: The Estate menu could be a little more adventurous as the hotel has 4 rosette status & a very creative head chef....
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely building, good location and immaculate gardens. Extremely comfortable bed. Delicious food at dinner.
Cons: Top floor room - fabulous views but no lift to get there and no porters for luggage. We were not going to let the female receptionist carry our cases. People should be warned about the lack of a lift. Dinner service was amazing but breakfast service quite slow.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: All staff were very pleasant and accommodating ,the breakfast was well cooked in fact the poached eggs were perfect our room was very clean and comfortable
Cons: For me having a weak back a lift would of been nice ,however I understand with the age of the Hall this may not be possible

9.0 Excellent
Pros: I could not fault the staff , they were all very attentive and eager to please . Very helpful. Being a lady of a certain age I really needed the window open all the time as felt it very warm for me . My son and daughterinlaw were in room 2 and I did feel their room was a little small , glad we were in room 7 much airier. A beautiful setting loved the gardens and food was lovely . We were their for a 90th birthday in town so it was an ideal base for us . Would definitely recommend .
Cons: Couldn't fault it , breakfast menu was slightly limited , we love scrambled egg and bacon , wasn't on the menu asked but it came through as scrambled eggs and mushrooms. I do know some chefs don't substitute choices so may have been why . But nothing was said.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location and easy to find, ample secure parking and lovely interior of pub and rooms, although dark at breakfast! Choice of wines and food good, even though the wine costs were higher than normal. Bathroom excellent - shower powerful and hot, bed comfy and larger than normal room, and plenty of lights.
Cons: Staff need a bit of training, and was disappointed to find out the food was pre prepared and vac packed, that said it was still good but we had to choose carefully due to salt intolerance. Breakfast poor, didn't know till we arrived that cooked was extra, and continental included in room price, which was fine, but hot water for tea was not hot enough to make a decent cuppa and no fresh fruit, so basic offering, but again, it was ok as filled a gap.

Cons: Continental breakfast ist very basic, but still ok.

Pros: Excellent breakfast, perfectly located, friendly staff, and good parking.

Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful couldn’t have done more.
Cons: I’m over 6 feet tall so bumped my head a few times due to low doors. Not properties fault I should have seen all the warning notices

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find, unique quirky rooms, amazing fluffy towels.
Cons: I arrived at a busy time so had to find someone to check me in and then there was no milk, so again I had to find a member of staff and wait. Everything else was fine and I have stayed before and not had any issues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast menu with friendly service.
Cons: Another bed side light would be a good idea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As a dog lover it was great to find a genuinely dog friendly place.
Cons: The hotel and food was very good. It was let down by a party having a disco which meant we could not hear to chat to each other. As a result everyone gave up and did not even try. One of our older employees couldn’t cope with it at all. Nowhere for residents to move to to get away from this.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the fresh coffee, and the welcome gift. The bed was lovely, as was the whole hotel.
Cons: It would be nice to have a bottle of water (I travel a lot and the stomach doesn't like all the changing drinking water).

Pros: Great location just a few steps from lovely bars and dominoes pizza! Staff member was brilliant when our tv didn’t work - round in seconds to fix it!
Cons: Linen and towels not as luxurious as advertised- a bath sheet would have been nicer. Cheap lumpy pillows. Room cold when we arrived but soon warmed up when we turned the radiator on.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The decor was ok and the bedroom was clean.
Cons: The mattress was poor, the bathroom had mould around the shower, the toilet seat was loose and the room was too hot with no way to turn it down.

Pros: The toasted buttered brown bread for breakfast but above all the friendly welcome from the young couple.
Cons: My 75 year old knees found it difficult going up the steep stairs . A small chair in the kitchen was needed! Also a few tissues in the kitchen, please A very
