Pros: The owner was very welcoming and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed a couple of drinks from the bar at the end of the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient for nearby Cumbrian Heavy Horses, lovely hosts, food and room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money. Host was amazing, super attentive, great with recommendations and the breakfast was super tasty, bed was extra comfy! Even more than expected with the robes, slippers and free standing bath. My pup Arnie LOVED it.
Cons: The annexe did get quite hot and the windows couldn’t be opened.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gorgeous pressed bed linen and deep bath were much appreciated after 2 days on horseback. Likewise the use of the drying room for wet riding gear and boots (it is the Lake District after all) Emiko was very accommodating, even tailoring dinner to our finish times. Doreen was really friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The choice and quality of food available was very impressive, this isn't a 'one size fits all' approach to cooking and menus. Thank you for your attention to detail Emiko, your good reputation is deserved.
Cons: The bath filled very slowly so pour yourself a G&T whilst it fills. Seems churlish to even mention it after the quality of hospitality we've just received.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Newly remodeled, the property is immaculate and tastefully decorated. Emiko is a wonderful host that takes pride in her attention to detail. Great breakfast, and the dinner we had the night we arrived was superb. Cozy bar with nice selection of single malts and gin.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, service was great. Couldn't ask for much more, were made very welcome and host knew a lot about the area of where to go, places to see etc etc. Definitely will be back again in future.
Cons: Nothing - Everything was perfect for what we wanted.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Don't want to say too much about this part of the Lakes as we want to keep it a secret! It's very beautiful, and so is the beach at Silecroft.... The Wayside was a such a lovely place to stay & Emi looked after us so well. Breakfast is amazing, and we had a great evening meal too! Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Pros: Breakfast was delicious - internet connection was very good - I could work and connect to the office in the evenings - if you want to see the countryside - this location is fantastic - and it is safe! The Muncaster castle just a little further on is well worth the visit. Good value for money!
Cons: can't fault the location especially for the price.

Pros: Location was good for what we wanted! Staff pleasant.
Cons: Around the shower was needing freshened. The tiles on the shower room floor are needing replaced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Host. Everything was just fine. Didn't want for anything.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Leaving
Cons: Met by a girl with bare feet who showed us to the room. She asked us if we wanted meat for breakfast...… we said probably, yes. The room can only be described as appalling. It smelled - there was mould in various locations and the plaster was just falling off the wall and all over the window-cill in the bathroom. We dared not use the shower. At breakfast we were asked by the girl with no shoes what we wanted - one of use asked for bacon and poached eggs - but she said she didn't know how to make a poached egg. There were no menus and she just said to me 'do you want what they've got' and pointed to a couple behind me …. so I had to peruse their plates as they ate and select what I wanted. I chose bacon, egg and sausage...…. one egg (ok) and one rasher with uncooked rind and a cheap sausage. The milk was plonked on the table in a 2 litre plastic container.... and we had some stone-cold toast. The girl with no shoes then said 'I am going in the lounge now to have something to eat' so it was clear we shouldn't bother her or ask for any more tea or coffee, etc. Beyond that - truly, Millom is a wholly awful and depressing place - don't go!!!!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We arrived on Friday afternoon, and were welcomed by a lovely little note from David and Carol so we instantly felt welcome! :) Our room was really nice and cosy, with a lovely view of the seafront. Other than the wedding that we were in Millom for, we probably would never have gone to this village as there is very little to do around the area from what we could see. However, the bnb was perfect for our 2 night stay and we were really happy with the price we paid considering it also included breakfast. Dave the host met us on Friday night and showed us around and made sure we knew where everything was. If we ever did have any reason to visit again, we would come back to Horama house for sure! Dave - You were so easy to get on with and really laid back! Thank you again for being so welcoming. Rachel x
Cons: There wasn't anything we didn't like about Horama House. However, Millom as a place just didn't have much to offer us really. We were there for a wedding, so this was the main reason for our stay. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we had to visit Millom again in future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, brilliant location lovely views, very clean and welcoming. Would stay again.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfty Room excellent Road leading up to Herdwicks full of potholes and very near caravan site Dog barking first night after 11 pm on camp site Breakfast lovely ,but feel pre ordering breakfast would be a better idea ,than a wait of 25 minutes in dining room before breakfast started to be served Dining room still locked at 9am Monday morning ,our last morning All staff very pleasant
Cons: Feel if you pre order breakfast and roughly the time wanted ,wouldnt have twenty five minute wait If you had your day planned out
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely/spacious rooms, with a luxury feel. Really comfy beds
Cons: There was loads of wasps. Sounds odd, but the hotel must be near a couple of wasps nests. Never seen so many! Not the fault of the hotel, just one of those things.

7.1 Good
Pros: Most of the staff were approachable and kind. The room and private bathroom was very clean, quite comfortable and in a good condition. The bar was a nice place to chill out with a pool table etc. The price charged was reasonable.
Cons: There is no one around if you want to check out early although it states you can check out from 5am. I had to catch an early train and there was no one around for check out when I tried at 5.15am. When I called the contact numbers there was no reply either. I was not sure what to do with the key. Luckily I was not travelling alone so the other person checked out later, who I left the key with. I understand it is a small place but at least the check out time should be listed as later or there should be clear instructions for early check out. I was also not impressed that the attached bar/restaurant stops serving food at 7pm although the bar remains open until late. As a guest there you are not allowed to bring food from outside to eat in the bar even if you buy drinks. This means you have to make a long walk to eat outside as there is nothing nearby. After a long tiring trip this is the last thing you want to do. Finally, the bathroom could do with some hooks to hang towels.
6.3 Good

Pros: Fairly large, comfortable room, with everything en suite. My phone internet signal was very weak and unusable, so the free WiFi was spot on. Got me back online in no time and was able to check my train times with ease. TV was also a decent size with good programmes to watch.
Cons: There was nothing not to like. Friendly people, lovely food, very clean. Enjoyed my short stay here.

9.6 Excellent
Cons: Very quaint pub and town
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A very cute and quaint inn, in a good location for access to the Lakes. The town is very pretty.
7.5 Good
Pros: The ability to walk downstairs to have a drink and some food .
Cons: Sleeping in a tiny double room we had to open the window for ventilation. Consequently the window was close to a boiler/ heating / fan and it came on through the night. Also the plumbing system was noisy in our en suite when using any form of water .. Apart from that , the room was comfortable , clean and nicely decorated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, amazing food! Great value for money.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I chose this inn because it was dog friendly, cheap and close to where you wanted to be. It also looked cosy, old and appealing.
Cons: I was a bit miffed to find that there was a £10 per night per dog charge, which, for a £42 room, I felt was quite a lot, and should have been mentioned on the website, prior to the booking procedure.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, the bar was well stocked , a number of real ales. The evening meal was so good, one meal would have been enough for two.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food very tasty plenty of it bed really clean and comfy
Cons: The view from the room was poor

8.0 Excellent
Pros: My room was very nicely decorated and very clean too. It was spacious and comfortable and I was able to relax and slept well. I did not have breakfast only because I did not know what I wanted each morning.
Cons: I did eat at the Bear on The Square, and found the creamy garlic mushrooms and macaroni cheese lacked taste, but my salmon was nicely cooked and lovely. I did not realise there was no dedicated parking which was not an issue for me as the recommended parking was only a few minutes' away, but if anyone had mobility or health issues, this might be a problem for them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed central and extremely clean
7.9 Good
Pros: Food good value. Friendly staff. Room for 2 nights was clean and comfortable. Nice decor as well.
Cons: Breakfast could do with being part of deal like a Bed and breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotless very bright and modern. Tea and Coffee facilities provided .
Cons: No breakfast included although to be fair did not open until 10am for meals etc would have been nice.. Noisy showers could be heard from other rooms in the room I stayed in. Was kept awake Monday morning from 6.30am with other guests due to noise from showers and the banging of the doors Guests leaving. This needs to be addressed.
5.8 Okay
Cons: 3 of us had a couple of drinks downstairs at a price £9.90 for 3 beers . We wanted something to eat so had to move to a different table The beer then went up 40 p per beer from the same pump in the same glasses and served by the same person. When I complained he said am in a different pub don’t like getting ripped off as it was the same beer pump that had served me earlier
7.5 Good
Pros: The food was great.
Cons: The door didn’t lock on the bedroom properly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast the next day, very approachable staff too.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was immaculate, thoroughly clean with nice modern decor. The TV and shower were in excellent working order, which often falls short at other places. In fact everything was perfect. As a fat person it was nice being able to walk into the showery normally without having to walk in sideways as the shower was a nice large size. I could not find a fault with the room or staff. The staff were very welcoming and were great at responding to written messages.
Cons: There is a policy that you cannot eat in the rooms. I arrived late so being able to eat some snacks in my room would have helped after a long journey without any food. The stairs getting to the room with a suitcase is not good either. I do not suppose anything can be done about this as there is no lift.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very good .A little noisy outside windows.kids on street .
