Very comfy beds. Friendly staff
Prompt service, excellent food, great staff, great exercise facilities, great location Bathroom had unpleasant "sewer" like odour
Appreciated the upgrade.
Have always liked the Fairmont. Located close to shops and downtown entertainment. Bed was a little soft. Rates can be high for some of the rooms.
Pool and steamroom Clean rooms dog friendly small rooms
Being downtown in Calgary, the convenience of the hotel, and the overall experience. I called in my request to have my car brought up 15 minutes before and did not have my car when I arrived nor did it appear that it was handled properly.
Staff was very helpful The room was clean and very spacious Ther was access to other venues without going outside The added costs, the water, the internet, etc.
its unfortunate that there is nothing to be liked in this so called 4star hotel. Typically I hate to complain but due to the experience, I feel I should provide my review. It was a five nights stay. Really slow slow shower. Bed linens, towels, sheets were not set well. There was a odor in the room. Coffee machine was not working. Power outlet was not working. TV channels were working intermittently and didnt even have the basic channels to view. Inspite of asking a few times to provide drinking water - there was no response from the staff. I wonder how do hotels like these get a 4 star rating. Internet, breakfast, TV channels are not part of the price.
The room was more spacious than expected, very clean and very comfortable. We were on the 11th floor, so it was very quiet. Loved the super fast elevators. The front door staff were very quick and keen. Check in and check out was a dream. You really beat my expectations.
This building has a beautiful old world feel atmosphere. Downtown Calgary feels like it has really died off with the current recession but you'd never notice once inside the hotel. Lots of happy and polite people everywhere. We will definatly return. We requested a newspaper in the morning but it didn't arrive for our two day stay.
It was a very charming hotel with staff that helped me on several occasions - opening luggage lock, assisting me when I left my key in the room, finding places in the city, friendly in the lounge and dining room. Everything was completely satisfactory.
The hotel was very quaint and kept much of it's rustic charm. It was clean and quiet. The staff were kind and courteous. I was disappointed that the only rooms that had WiFi access were on the gold floors. I was offered to upgrade to the gold floor for an additional $100. The receptionist failed to mention the price was per night. A nice little sticker shock. Also I find it odd that a hotel the caliber of the Palliser would not offer WiFi
The staff gave me great information about the city and I have the best view of the city from 19th floor!!! Nothing
friendly staff lack of hot water
The bathroom door it slides open and shut. Not very private
Good central location The hotel in general and rooms specifically were very hot and very dry, I felt like I was going to get a node bleed and needed to go outside for relief - drank a lot of water and had to buy chapstick. They need to get some humidifiers to add moisture to the air.
starbucks is handy, doormen/valet were excellent. Place is very clean and staff were friendly. food at lounge qiuite pricey
No comment 1) The rate was very high as compared to other bitter hotels in the same location. 2) no breakfast 3) local call charge are high 4) international call charge was very expensive.
We found the room service on request provided quick and helpful service The room did not have bath robes or a shower mat for the bath or floor,
The hotel was attached to the venue for the convention I was attending so it was very convenient. Hotel staff was very accommodating, and location was withing walking distance to restaurants, shopping etc. I will stay there again when I am in Calgary.
Found it very comfortable and centrally located. Would stay here again. Rooms are very spacious with separate lounge area.
The International was extremely convenient in terms of getting around Calgary. Everything was literally steps from my door. The breakfast options were nice, and my interactions with staff were very pleasant. Though modern in many ways, the hotel could use some updating. Some fixtures and appliances were showing their age, though nothing was broken or malfunctioning.
We liked the size and comfort of the bed best. The room was quite spacious and it was useful to have a fridge. The horrendous noise other guests were making on the floor below at 3am on Saturday/Sunday.
Best value for money, especially you stay over a weekend.Good business class treatment and room.Breakfast is superb, the best so far for my family's Rocky trip.Recption very understanding and friendly, went out of the way to help. couldn't find one.if need to, my room faces another tall office building,so there was no view.
The convienience of International hotel and suites location is excellent. We checked in, and walked everywhere for the entire weekend! Never saw my car for almost 483 hrs. When the weather was nice we walked outside. While it was blizzarding or there was just alot of snow on the ground we walked through the +15'S. The rooms comfort and view were great, and the service was very good as well. There was 3 things that were unenjoyable about our stay at International Hotel and Suites... First: once parked in the parkade and on our way to our suite, the elevator was out of order. Two: while visiting with guests late at night we realized that the toilet was leaking, then it kept running, then it over flowed, then we had to manually fill the tank every time we wantex to flush for fear of over flowing. Three: when we went down to the bar to watch a hockey game, there was no one else there... Maybe they could try to get more patrons into the bar.
The staff was polite, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast was really good.
Large, spacious room. Good beds. Helpful staff. Great downtown location. Shabby lobby, dingy, dirty halls, such that it was a relief and surprise to a find clean, comfortable room awaiting us.
Spacious suite, good quality room service food No lift directly from carpark to lobby or rooms - stairs between the lobby and the lifts which is difficult with suitcases. The public rooms were dingy. The location is in the business district, not close to major tourist sites and shopping.
The location was just right-the suite was a nice size, with a comfortable bed.The reception staff were really helpful All was fine
Ugraded to a better room No water pressure on 17 floor for 5 minutes each day when trying to take a shower.
Wonderful suite with amenities Only 1 small cramped bathroom for 2 bedroom suite. Also, no hot water 1 morning.
Location is fantastic. Was very disappointed with bathroom. After a long day of travel was looking forward to a nice bath. Only had a standup shower. Toilet was child sized. Parking was also outrageous. $30 for self park!
I liked the style of the remodelled bathroom, the windows and skylights of the pool, jacuzzi area on the roof, the security of needing a key to use the elevator, the sun reflection of the Westin on the foyer floor, starbucks in the hotel was great for morning treats. Pillows and bedding was very nice, especially with the dark drapes... you could really get a good sleep. the Fluid Lounge is poorly decorated and could use more colorful paint. Felt drab, like waiting in an airport lounge.
The staff we wonderful. Helpful and kind. I had a great stay. Comfy clean beds. The higher you go the better the view. Ask for riverside at check in. Great downtown hotel. Walking distance to awesome restaurants and music venues. I really really love this hotel.
Comfy, roomy barroom. The room was large too which was nice. Upon check in, the front desk asked if we were interested in having the breakfast option. I declined thinking my family would be interested in going elsewhere. Not even 10 minutes later when I asked to change my rate to the breakfast option, the gentlemen at the front desk said that it was too late as we are already in house. I found that lousy customer service. I could have pushed it to the manager to see if they can but after a long day of travel I didn't have the patience to bother. They could've asked their manager for me. It was very annoying.
The proximity to the business and shopping that I needed to do. The restaurant for lunch was expensive and not particularly good. The caesar salad was not fresh or presented well. The pizza was dry and tough Coffee in a mug at $3.50 was bitter. I would not use the restaurant again.
The staff was very helpful. All questions were answered promptly. Thanks.
The reception was fantastic. The mattress was uncomfortable.
Comfort Bar felt least inviting
Pricey food and drinks
Excellent staff, clean, friendly, exceeded my expectations for service.
We had some time to kill before a wedding dinner and hung out at your lounge. The server was pleasant and gave prompt service. We did not like the fact that an additional $17 was added to our bill for parking. That should be free for guests or at least hide it in your rates so that customers think its free.
The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel is conviently located downtown. The staff is very friendly. The restaurants in the area were good too!
Good location. Comfortable room.
The staff is very friendly.
Great location, friendly staff, good valet parking, excellent food in room service, interestingly different decor, comfortable bed, good sized room, excellent tv(but see below in adverse comments),very good shower. The artsy sink in the bathroom was too small for the powerful faucet and wet both my wife and I on separate occasions. There was no shaving/make up mirror. The heating system was extremely noisy but effective (it was -22c during our stay). The room lighting was too dim. The lovely wall mounted plasma tv was hobbled by a stretched low def picture(we could not alter the aspect ratio) and we were unable to get ppv movies due to severe picture distortion. The hotel service engineer responded very promptly , he was extremely pleasant but unable to fix the problem which originated at the media server ,not the tv itself .
The breakfast buffet.
Lots going on, close to lots of good calgary spots. Great restaurants as well as pool side lounge.
The staff was very nice & helpful including at the bar. Lovely art but need more. The room & bathroom were spa like and the Yellow Door bar & bistro was elegant. Nice Lobby, too. The valet guys were trying to rip us off on prices to park. The front counter said it was $20 but they told us $30.the WiFi said it was insecure so I reported that.
I was with my best friend and we made the best of it. Even though we had terrible service. I felt that the some of the staff was rude. Mainly on the girl that I talked to on the phone that they charged me $18 for parking when it should have been $10 which she refunded me for. But she was extremely rude. Just cause of her I would never stay at your hotel again nor would I tell other people to stay there. I wanted to have a great hotel stay with my best friend and just from her it was ruined.
Unbelieveable view. Also upon booking, I requested a top view and I got it all. loved how clean the rooms were etc. Nothing
Clean, modern, lots of electrical outlets in the room. Shouldn't be charged for WiFi in the room. Also, the air conditioner (heater) was loud.
Close to city centre, a short walk from City Hall CTrain station and the 300 bus to airport. Free breakfast is basic - bagels, bread, frozen waffles, but free is free! Clean rooms, clean bathroom, and a fantastic tv lounge in the basement Would love more regular hostel initiated events to take advantage of the large lounge
