The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (plenty of food and variety).
The modest breakfast offered in the lobby area as part of our room charge was convenient and allowed us to start our day quickly. The hotel's close proximity to Boston College was very helpful for anyone visiting the school. This is a hotel to use for one or two nights for practical reasons. It was a little difficult to locate, and just satisfied our minimum requirements for comfort, but we were happy to have the extra pocket money.
It's proximity to the subway and the complimentary continental breakfast.
I liked that it was convenient and had availability. The price was ok, compared to what other hotels were going for around the area. i felt like it could have been cleaner. The room felt very damp, as if there had been no air but the air conditioning circulating the room. There were spiders every where - In the curtains, on the wall when I woke up, in the bathroom smashed on the wall. I couldn't wait to check out. The bed was terrible. It flt like it was very old mattress, extra soft and springy.
When I arrived, the employee working at the front desk was very helpful and kind. I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay.
The great bedroom: big, good looking and with a confortable king-sized bed. The staff were very nice and always trying to help. A good breakfast, a nice neighbourhood... I really liked this hotel! No.
The staff was especially helpful regarding tourist attractions, transportation, and restaurants. Computer w/Internet access in lobby complimentary for guests.
convenience for the city transport system
The Breakfast was excellent! The heater did not work. The room reached until 59 degrees, we notify front desk their answer was "in summer (September) they does not turn it on.
Location, free auto parking, generous complimentary breakfasts, very helpful staff at front desk no
Great location for visiting BU campus and proximity to the T line. Really appreciate the full breakfast and free internet. Near Whole Foods Grocery store for stocking up on supplies for the fridge or microwave use. The heating unit was noisy and difficult to control the temperature comfortably.
The front desk guy was really nice and accommodative. a stronger internet connection would have been good, and the continental breakfast should have been served until 11:00 am.
This updated and rebranded Howard Johnson offers a traveler a great value with a 10-minute walk to the Red Line of MBTA. Good resources for restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries in walking distance. The facility is newly redone, and looks great. Simple, clean appearance from the street that carries through to the interior. This is a simple place, with no lounging lobby or other common area than a breakfast room. This is a place for travellers who will be out visiting and sight-seeing for the majority of their time here. Rooms can vary. The room they initially put us in seemed only partially updated with an old Jacuzzi tub, paint peeling on the ceiling and walls, and mould in the tiles around the tub. The paint job in the room was obviously inferior. That room was also next to the "Janitorial" room, which serves as the office and break room for cleaning staff that starts work at 6am — very noisy very early. Front desk staff easily and quickly moved us without fuss when we asked for another room. This one was completely redone and a lovely glassed in large shower. The only other thing to note is that since this is a refurb, the sound-deadening is less than in a newer facility and the sound-sealing, such as the door with no seals around it, allows for noise to come in the room more than contemporary construction. Ultimately, we might use this place again, because it is a great value.
Everything! Room was clean (great shower!), staff was helpful, breakfast was good, price was affordable, and it was near where we were going. Favorite place I've stayed in a while, even compared to places twice the price.
It had a good location - it was 2 minutes away from the subway. It had no real sidewalk/walkway leading to the hotel. This makes it difficult for commuters (via subway) to reach the hotel on foot, especially when they have luggage.
Absolutely nothing. Our room was the opposite of that what you may call a clean room. Let aside the hole that had been burnt into the blanket and the carpet by cigarettes (by the way: we booked a non-smoking room one week before our arrival). The blankets did not look that clean as they should be (we asked for new ones which once had been white and turn into yellow over the years) and last but not least we found the remains of vomit on one of our beds beds and on the door of the bathroom. The air in the room had the smell of a mixture of this distinguished ingredients (vomit plus cigarettes) that made it impossible to sleep. This place cannot be recommended, not at all.
The good: Location Nice desk staff The bad: Bed (hard as a rock) Shower (ours wasn't working properly) Bathroom overall (the sink was falling apart) Room overall (decor was of extremely poor quality) Noise
The price is good. Although we arrive very late we can find some personnel in front desk. It's very close to the big markets and 5 miles to Niagara. Their breakfast is not good. No tea.
We had a clean and quiet back room. Close to the T subway - 30 minutes from the centre of Boston. You can see the motel as you arrive in Braintree Station. Well located for travellers on foot like us. The blankets were old and needed replacement, certainly not up to the excellent standard of the sheets and quilt cover
Good value and access to trains (though across an unmarked-for-pedestrian walkway)!
Rooms were dirty, bedding was very old looking and looked like it was never washed! It is more of a truck stop. I will not be staying in this motel ever again! Staff is cold and have no customer service skills
For business trip in economy style this motel is more than enough. I have no reasons to complain. Decent restaurant on premises and highway to Cap Cod and Boston are bid advantages. I will stay there next time definitely. Paid Wi-Fi with login every day. Didn't they consider to charge also for water and air separately? Cheap pennypitching... And garbage recycling, it's time for it.
Near the town Frigidaire and microwave missing
the renovated rooms are clean and modern I wish there was a coffee machine in the rooms.
Check out lady. She gave us a refund of the half room price without discussions, cause of the trouble see below. The guy at check in was unfriendly. The room was dirty: long hairs in the bathtub, water standing in the sink and didn´t go away, the batheroom door was broken.
The staff was really nice and allowed us to store our luggage with them at 8am so that we could go to the city and tour before checking in. I loved the fact that it was right next to the T line! Braintree is a bit far from downtown, but if you're on a budget...eh? Clean room, great cable, and nice staff. Good for its price!
Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast each morning of juice/coffee/toast/fruit. Large rooms. Easy/free parking. Next door there is an IHOP, McDonald's and Starbuck. Safe neighborhood. I was there for business in Harvard Square/Cambridge and used Uber, Metro Taxi, and my car. Easy to get around and convenient. Cheapest rate I could find in the area. Pleased all around. Used to be a Days Inn so could use some updating, but for the rate, a great find. Would definitely stay again.
Check in was at 3pm and the room wasn't clean until 5 pm!
The front desk staff was very friendly. Honestly, this place was disappointing. I had to open the windows to air out the overwhelming perfume smell in my room. It was so strong, I couldn't stop coughing. Then, I couldn't lock the windows back up when I needed to close them. There was garbage all over the parking lot too. Definitely not worth $100/night.
Surprisingly large room and well maintained. Would have given five stars but we found a cockroach...
The atmosphere between staff and guests as well as between guests was friendly and inviting. The hotel staff also helped my group with a few extra things like printing our boarding passes since we didn't have access to a printer. Free breakfast was also a nice perk. The hotel facilities seemed outdated. However, everything was in working order for my group, so this is merely a complaint about appearance.
It was close to the paradise night club where our concert was. Also located right by a very nice river walk trail. Bed was nice and comfy and room was clean. The desk attendant was very friendly. A good price too. The door was hard to close and the water from the faucet was dripping. The neighbors were also very loud with their screaming kids during the day.
Fairly comfortable and clean. Includes light breakfast and parking. A few miles from city center. The mouse. It woke me up around midnight of our second night there. It was running around and chewing on something. My boyfriend didn't hear it initially because he's a heavier sleeper than me. I thought I was hearing things. After we turned off the lights, I heard it again. This time, he did too. I couldn't sleep after that. I had the lights on for about an hour or so. My boyfriend was tired from a long day so he passed out. I eventually dozed off but not for long as it woke me again around 6am. We finally found what it got into. We had a loaf of bread inside a tied up plastic bag in the room. It chewed through the bag and ate a big piece of the bread. I told the manager, Supta, about it, but she said they do not have a mouse problem. However, I found a mouse trap under behind the desk with a piece of cheese on it. I guess it was a really smart mouse. She explained the trap is for preventative reasons. She also asked if I turned off or blocked the mouse light (it's a night light to scare off the mice??) Nope, it was on the whole night. I suggested that they a post a sign warning guests not to have any food in the room, like they do in hostels, since it sounded like she thought it was our fault for having food in the room. I was a bit upset they have an issue with mice, especially for the price we paid ($92 a night!) I would have rated this stay as a one star for this reason but our first night stay was not a problem. I suppose if you're a heavy sleeper or don't mind the company of mice, it won't be an issue.
Very basic. The room looked like someone had plundered it the night before. Outlets were loose in the wall, doors were missing from nearly all the drawers, It also smelled of stale cigarettes in a supposed non smoking room.
Several decent restaurants were in the area. The room and particularly the bath need complete rejuvanation.
Close to Boston The hotel was dirty, I don't think a vacuum cleaner passed by that place in months.
Very quiet The room smelled like smoke.
Leaving Being here! I know the saying goes "you get what you pay for". It is still very much true. The price and location were the only things that passed at this Motel. Several police cars and a K-9 unit met us at the entrance. Followed by a major leak from the room above, to get moved into another room which looks to have stains on the curtains of undeterminable variety.
Related to the price, it's clean and have a good service The WI-FI signal is very poor in the rooms. To use Internet, you have to go outside near the reception.
I like that it was close to everything I was looking for. Nothing, great for the price.
I liked the staff and the convenient location to places on the south shore of Boston The carpet needed to be shampooed
