Pros: Very clean and near the city center. Parking is a few blocks away.

Pros: Very comfortable hotel and quiet room on a very busy avenue.Check in and out was easy and the reception was very positive. Good breakfast and parking behind the hotel for a fee.

Cons: Nothing at all.

Pros: Very central location and parking possibility next to the building. Be sure to arrive before 20.00 or the parking is closed! Spacious and modern rooms, spacious bathroom and very silent and good airconditioning

Pros: I had a wonderful room, sparkling clean with a very comfy bed. Super breakfast!

Pros: The owner/s couldn't do enough for us. In spite of our very limited Italian, they managed to explain so much to us, recommended a local (ie for locals) restaurant which we really enjoyed and explained all about how to climb mount Etna, even giving us tokens entitling us to free lunch at the cable-car top.

Pros: This was the second time that we stayed in Catania Bedda and it was even better than the first time. Do not hesistate, just book it, Catania Bedda is perfect. Good value for money, perfect location. Opposite of a beautfil garden, in the centre and on the balcony you can see the Etna. The beds are perfect, the rooms high and spacious and the toilet ant shower on the corridor is not a problem at all. Breakfast is delicious. If necessary you can park your car close by.

Cons: Check in process, we spent 2 hours to wait in the street in order to check in.There is no reception at the apartment, you need to call minimum to hours before check in or inform in advance owner, overall everything is good except difficulty in check in Also apartment is needed in renovation every old finished Also a bit uncomfortable external bathroom, by the way it is mentioned in the apartment description during booking process, just to be informed

Pros: It is located in a great part of town, so you can go on foot everywhere. It's close to the city centre but still nice and quiet. And it is in a wonderful old building, yet extremely clean and well kept.

Pros: Excellent location above all and very close to a guarded parking lot with very reasonable prices. There is a shared kitchen all tenants can use that is equiped with everythind one might need.

Cons: The room was clean, but not the cleanest you can get. Not to the point that bothers you, but to the point you notice.

Pros: Location is very central. The bathroom is big. In the breakfast you can choose one very delicious pastry and a hot drink, but for us it was enough, because the pastry was big and full of stuffing.

Cons: The air conditioner was loud. After we checked out of the b&b the host asked us to rate them with 10.

Pros: if you want to be in the centre of town this is the place to be. Very close to restaurants bars and shops. There is a small shared kitchen where you can cook a meal or make coffee.

Cons: Parking on the street is a crime. You can park your car a five minutes walk from the appartment. This is a secured parking.

Pros: Great location. It was really helpful to simply have own key for entry and exit when you like. Rooms were spacious and with quiet air conditioning so you could leave it on at night and still sleep easily.

Cons: We didn’t use the shared kitchen space.

Cons: i had asked in advance if it was a problem when we arrive at 1am because our plane arrived late and was told it was no problem. when we arrived we were asked to pay 14€ "city tax" by the receptionist. we saw online that city tax was only 1 to 1,50€ per person, so we didn't want to pay it, because we weren't told about that in advance. the receptionist was very insistant and then called someone (the owner?) because his english was better, who said the 10 euro were an extra fee for our late check in and only the 4 euro was city tax. but that there was a problem with the water so we could talk about that in the morning. in the morning someone had texted me on whatsapp if everything was ok. at the reception they again wanted the money from us and then we again talked on the phone and were told we only had to pay the 4 euro because of the problem with the water (that was leeking out of underneath the shower). after we had left he asked me to leave a 10 point review here, which unfortunatly i cannot. long story short: if you charge for late check in, please put that on your website + inform your guests about it before they arrive, espically if they ask you if a late arrival is a problem.

Pros: Wonderful apartment with a nice terrace! Very clean and comfortable. Very welcoming manager. It was possible to solve all organizational issues very quickly. We were allowed to make the late checkout just before the transfer to the airport. Thanks a lot!

Cons: Location is out of the main city and thus recommend to have your own transport.

Pros: Location close to the sea, good breakfast although you had to make it yourself. The coffee machine and the shower “cap” didnt work properly. The bed was not very comfortable. The room was clean.

Pros: Single economy room was very nice and clean with private bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast was really good, hot bread, ham, fruits and sweets. Hotel is located in the city center so it's easy to get there from the airport. Christian is a great, helpful host, can advice which places and restaurants are worth to visit. I really enjoyed my stay!

Pros: Our stay was very good, as always, we were there for the third time. The owner is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is very big and tasty, as always. At first glance, the district looks "uninteresting", but it's safe. The object is located close to the city center and train station. Next to it is a small grocery store open to 1am. There are very good restaurants within 3-5 minutes walk. If we back to Catania we will back to Solsicily :)

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. Right beside the fish market.

Cons: Our room smelled very strongly of cigarettes and needed to be repainted. One lamp didn't work. We were only given two pillows. The towels smelled damp and the hot water on the shower kept turning on and off.

Pros: Had a lovely fresh croissant with coffee in the main square, only 2 minutes walk from the accommodation, all organised by the owner.

Cons: Everything was super! Great location, very accommodating host, and our apartment was spacious, with a terrace overlooking Mount Etna. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Right next to the fish market and Catania center, but we only use this as transfer which is not very convenient, it’s about 15min walk to the bus/train terminals also not easy to get the Alibus in Piazza Paolo Borsellino so we have to chose taxi(20euro).Breakfast is right in the Piazza but unfortunately we had a flight to catch:(

Cons: no lift so you need to carry luggage to the 3rd floor, more stairs inside the B&B, but those ones the host Alessandro helped us.

Cons: Light switch from stairs to common courtyard and exit to street was broken. Very dark at night. Had to grasp on to the handrail to find your way out. Hotel is not in the most desirable area, but you are literally 100 metres from entrance to the main tourist areas of Catania, so not a problem in reality

Pros: A hospitable secure welcoming stay in a classic European B&B that was so enjoyable, added amenities such as access to an espresso machine, refrigerator, laundry, hair dryer, down comforter, ironed pillow cases, guest toiletries with modern decorated plumbing fixtures in a perfect location; a quick walk to the Piazza Duomo, alongside the famous fish market, offering 'street food' fresh vegetables, fruits, deli cheeses, meats, local baked goodies. Piazza offered fine and casual dining, shopping and tours. Alessandro was very kind and helpful answering questions. As a 76 year old senior woman, I feel very pleased that I chose B&BDesign.

Pros: The bed and bathroom were nice.

Cons: The floor was not cleaned in any morning, just trash was collected and towels and toilet paper changed. Also Wi-Fi was not functioning at all, no Internet access. And in the first night we found a big cockroach in the bath; after informing the host next day they used some insecticide spray and we never saw others during next 2 nights.

Pros: good communication with owner. Location is great. After a long climb very clean room. Price is low but you get not much in space. It’s just enough.

Cons: That small that we moved the bed for the suitcases.

Pros: The breakfast was in a little Cafe just over the road from the property and was a selection of pastries etc and a drink for up to 3 euros per person. The quality was very good and the prices were very reasonable if we wanted to purchase anything extra. We were on the top floor in room 5 so we had access straight onto the roof terrace. The air con was good and the bed was comfortable.

Cons: The building where Umberto B & B is situated is on a main street.The actual entrance into the building was about as welcoming as Alcatraz with a heavy steel door with bars behind the glass. Once inside there are 4 flights of stairs up to the actual part that houses Umberto B & B so no good if one has mobility problems. More stairs once inside though this part of the building was a pleasant change from the entrance. That said we had pleasant stay here and would stay again.

Pros: Great. The building is old and dirty and full of character. The room and the toilet are amazing though.

Pros: We loved the communication with the owner Gildo - we arrived late from the airport, so we found the keys in a safe box with all the instructions for the room. He recommended us a good safe parking nearby (15€/per day). We highly recommend the breakfast option in the cafe in front - the most wonderful service and food (we had a pistacchio granita with brioche and coffee). The checkout was also seamless in the morning.

Cons: The windows from the room is to the inside corridor of the house - in the morning it was super noisy with the guests leaving the apartment, also with some machine noise from there (I guess air conditioning).. Also it was hard to get fresh air to the room. The bed and the pillows were super hard, so if you´re not used to that, be careful.
