Pros: The host is a great and helpful person! He welcomed us happily. Great breakfast and cofffee! The room is together with a garage. We liked the sounds of monkeys and plants around the place . Quite close to the archeological site.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was cold water in the jacuzzi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Don’t hesitate! Go to this place. It is really quiet and peacefull. It is in te jungle and the hotel is small. There is a tub (with bubbels) outside (so no need for swimming pool:)). The rooms are really luxury, hottube inside and a big bed. And the staff is wonderful, they do everything to make you feel comfortable. Carlos is really generous, friendly and warm man. O and the breakast is delicious:)
Cons: Nada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I wanted to stay outside of Palenque in the jungle and that was exactly what I got. Breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit, good coffee and sweet bread. The owner was a lovely man. He went above and beyond to make sure I was ok. He even wanted to send me off with a packed breakfast when I had to leave on an early flight. It was beautiful, tranquil and overall a lovely stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The owner is such a nice person, he tries to welcome every guest and he is a person that is willing to help you. He was so nice than the day we arrived and we were starving, he gave us a ride to Palenque Downtown to the area where the restaurants are located. Breakfast is simple but delicious and fulfilling. The hotel is not big and it is in the middle of nowhere but it has a nice garden and each room has a parking spot.
Cons: You have to take a bus, taxi or getting a car to get to the property. Its not terrible but you really need a transportation to make it either to the town or to the ruins (it is not expensive around 5 usd). The place does not have lunch or dinner, so this is more a place to relax after exploring the ruins or the town and thats all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Carlos is an amazing host. So helpful and really made our stay so enjoyable. The hotel is modern spacious and very well appointed. It is well located in a beautiful setting close to the ruins. A fantastically fresh breakfast is served every morning in a wonderful tropical garden setting. A wonderful place to stay. Thank you Carlos and your staff for making us feel so welcome.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A really large comfortable bed in a huge room, excellent shower. Carlos was so helpful and charming and even drove us to the bus station the next day. Very close to Palenque site so really easy in the morning to jump in a taxi. A lovely jungle setting for breakfast. Would highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Carlos is a wonderful host, he made us feel like in cocoon with very kind attentions. The location is away from central city in the middle of the nature on the road of Palenque ruins. The room is large, bed super confortable & all very clean. Breakfast was amazing with tasty fruits, local coffee & pan dulce.
Cons: Nothing, all our stay was amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time there, Carlos is a great host. Room was very clean, plenty of room, tv with lots of channels if needed, WIFI worked perfectly! Access to your room directly through your private garage. Location perfect for us, we slept good, quiet neighbourhood. Short drive to the ruins but also only a short drive to Palenque where you will find everything you need. Great breakfast on a beautiful terrace, whirlpool also available. Thank you Carlos! (By the way Carlos speaks english quite perfectly)

Pros: The hotel staff was amazing, very courteous and inviting. The owner was very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture and helpful with travel tips! Vicinity to Palenque ruins was awesome, and the decor, room, and food were amazing! I would recommend and definitely stay here again if we come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful pool area and pond with some interesting wildlife. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help you. The bed was very comfortable. Very roomy rooms and beautiful porch with seating area. The owner was very interesting and informative. Food is very good.
Cons: Light switches in room were complicated but eventually figured What went with which light. The salads were not very interesting. Next to a cow past year which was interesting but a little strange. It didn’t smell or anything and there were some cowboys there at one point which was fun.

Pros: It was one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept on. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful.
Cons: Nothing. It was all wonderful

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - especially the Manager
Cons: Nothing -- all was first rate
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful hotel in the middle of the jungle! You can tell the owner took time to make this a resort where both people and animals come to relax (a family of howler monkeys lives in the backyard of this hotel!!!). It really gave us the jungle experience we were looking for (didn't take a jungle tour at the archeological site anymore because the hotel is located in the middle of the jungle and wildlife can be seen around the hotel). The staff could speak proper English (something you don't see everywhere in Mexico) and they gave us bananas whenever we wanted to feed the howler monkeys. The room was amazing, very spacious and luxurious. Would love to have that shower at home! Also very clean. Especially for the owner: wir haben die Deutsche gründlichkeit wirklich bemerkt bei euch. Vielen dank für diese wundervolle Erfahrung! Sie können stolz sein auf was Sie hier gemacht haben!
Cons: Palenque itself isn't that interesting (the city centre I mean). So if you want to see the archeological site and the jungle, see howler monkeys closeby and other animals like macaw parrots flying over and relax at a beautiful pool, then you should really stay in this hotel. Nothing bad to say about the hotel. Trust me: it's worth every penny!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you get a chance to come to Palenque, sta y here. Unique, and makes you feel relaxed, pampered and as if you are the only guest. Food is wonderful and their staff is very special.
Cons: Nothing. It was all amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous. Great service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice place deep in the jungle of palenque. Staff is great and the facilties as well. Plus, there was a monkey family living within the premises. How amazing is that!

Pros: Great place to stay and very close to the ruins

9.3 Excellent (342 reviews)

Located in Palenque, Winíka Alterra is a 2-minute drive from Misol-Ha Waterfalls and 13 minutes from Aluxes Eco Park. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. Free valet parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is absolutely terrific - it is a beautiful place in an oasis of quietness. Great location, great pool.
Cons: The food at the venue is a little bit overpriced for what it is. Furthermore it is not too convenient that your bathroom is located next to the bathroom of your neighbours. And furthermore, the entrance needs a little update.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cabins and a nice pool in a quiet environment.
Cons: Expensive food, small portions and not always that good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, people. I must say gorgios!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Price we paid for the room was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Winiki Alterra. The staff is extremely kind and helpful (they even arranged the repair of our flat tire on a Sunday). The location is great, the surroundings are beautiful. The cabanas are quite luxurious and clean and you have a beautiful view into nature straight from your bed. The pool is a great place to relax after a visit to the Archeological Area (a must see).
Cons: We missed a hair dryer in the bathroom. The hair dryer the reception provided was broken.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the pool and the individual cabins. Friendly and very helpful staff. Hotel is right near a farm with animals so especially nice for kids. Everything seemed new and well kept.
Cons: Although I liked the farm I thought it did it was in more of a jungle setting. Was hoping to beat different animals in the morning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food in the restaurant was great, both breakfast and dinner. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Location is not walking distance from town or archeological site but easy to find.
Cons: There were many insects coming into the room, probably through the bathroom, it could have been due to the nets being open or not properly fitted. It would be useful to have phones or radios in the rooms to comunicate with reception. We found the "ecological pool" to be better descriped as a tank or pond
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very remotely locate yet not too far away from Palenque if you have a car
Cons: WiFi not really fast Flexibility is needed at the breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location away from the city centre, calm and peaceful. Nice and clean houses, eco-minded, comfortable, safe and family friendly. Great swimming pool.
Cons: There is a possibility to have lunch at the hotel but the menu is limited, food quality is excellent but quantity is rather poor. Plenty of alternatives in the city or near the hotspots.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent option for visit to Palenque. Off road where natura is at its best, with boutique hotel commodities.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable and good value for money.
Cons: Shared spaces could be better
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good price, big bed, friendly staff and it was nice and quiet. It is a short walk from the bus station/spot to catch collectivos to the ruins and near a number of different restaurants, though I only found good food once - can't recall name of place but almost opposite hotel Maya. Avoid cafe Jade even if it does appear to be the most popular place in the area
Cons: The washing machine needs 4 kg of washing to work. Bed was not as comfortable as others but I think that was down to something over the mattress/under the sheet, making it softer than the mattress really was and giving me back pain
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was spotlessly clean, bed was enormous and very comfortable, air con worked well. I was unfortunately unwell during our stay in Palenque and I could not have wished for a more comfortable place to rest.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean Good wifi Friendly staff
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: I was going to Guatemala by bus from Mexico. I bout the bus ticket and booked a hotel in Guatemala. But the border of Guatemala was closed. So the bus departure time was changed to change the route. I didn't have a phone number, so the bus company came to this hotel to let me know, but the hotel didn't let me know about that. Also, when the bus came to pick me up early in the morning, They didn't come to the room to let me know. I couldn't go and I had to pay the hotel in Guatemala cancellation fee. This hotel said that it’s not our responsibility, so You have to pay for another night if you stay. I was very disappointed. I don't want to stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine, close to ado bus station 2min by walk, friendly staff, lockers, washing machine, refill bottle of water for 5 pesos, very calm, close to everything. Very good place to stand and visit Palenque ruines. I recommend heavily.
Cons: Nada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A really beautifully clean and roomy hostel with all amenities you need. The room was lovely and had aircon which was well needed after a day of exploring in the heat. It was an excellent place to relax and recover.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Its a great hotel. Very clean, comfortable beds, the kitchen hes all you need and more, i really recomnd
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money! Also, it's super practically that you can store your luggage and even have a shower after you checked out, making it the perfect option to arrive in the evening, stay for a night and visit the ruins on the next day.
Cons: The laundry is overpriced (15$/kg is standard but you have to do everything by yourself whereas everywhere else you get everything done).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No frills hotel in a very good location. 5-min walk from the ADO station, 3-min walk from the touristy area and restaurants, 15-min to the Zocalo where you can find cheap eats, pharmacies and other shops. For $50 pesos you can use the swimming pool at nearby hotel.
Cons: Nothing.

6.7 Good
Pros: Well located. In the middle of “La Cañada” where the most of the hotels for tourist are. 10 minutes walking from city center. 8 KM from the ancient ruins of Palenque. You can take a taxi, it will cost 100$ Mexican pesos. It is a good place for one night if you are coming to Palenque to visit the archeological area.

7.9 Good

Cons: Pool is really small and ac can’t be controlled or turned off programmatically

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view, the pool, the organic garden and the general structure of the hotel. Breakfast is also nice with organic options. The massage I received at this hotel was truly amazing.
Cons: Breakfast should be included in the price
7.5 Good
Pros: The outlook Macaws in the garden :)
Cons: Lack of information about the area - unfortunately I only speak English. Should have a clearly stated environment policy and limit plastic use
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful! They went above and beyond what was necessary to make our stay comfortable and happy. Couldn’t recommend this place more!
7.1 Good
Pros: - Staff was lovely! - Great view and environment - We could do an early check-in which was much appreciated as we were arriving early with an overnight bus
Cons: - Breakfast is expensive and not that great. - As the official receptionist was not there during the days we stayed, for some reasons they could not apply our booking.com rate and we had to pay a bit more than what we book for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location within a very short driving distance of the Palenque ruins. Beautiful property with pool overlooking the forest – beautiful to wake up to the sounds of Scarlet Macaws and howler monkeys! The room was deluxe, spacious, sparkling clean, and AC worked like a dream (very welcome in the strong heat and humidity). Staff were friendly and helpful, and I especially enjoyed conversations with the outgoing chef. Breakfast (in the realm of $5) was really tasty – I definitely recommend the ice-cold juice, strong coffee, and delicious tamales and chilaquiles. And, as a bonus, filtered water is available free on-site for guests. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Casa Lakyum. Just a friendly reminder: the Palenque-area seems to have a higher density of scorpions than other areas in the lowland jungle of Chiapas. Always remember to check inside clothes and shoes before putting them on, especially first thing in the morning!
Cons: Wifi is only available in the reception area (doesn't quite reach rooms).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice facilities and welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent value for money. The view from the terrace is breathtaking and the atmosphere is peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was amazing.
Cons: Nothing really, except the poor wifi signal in my bedroom but it is a minor detail
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing inside the jungle. You can hear the voice of hawler monkeys, watch the beautiful birds and ants. It is very close to Palenque ruins, 5 minute ride with collectivos.
Cons: If you don’t know Spanish, it will be really difficult to communicate. Staff is doing their best but I think, there should be more than one person who knows at least basic English.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view on the jungle from the breakfast terrasse or the swimming pool. A 60’s legacy charming hotel which is perfectly located for visiting the ruins and enjoying the nature. The jungle sounds ambiance at sunrise and sunset are peaceful. Good breakfast and very kind personnel.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was big with 2 beds so it was perfect for us. The view on the jungle is quite impressive. The hotel was almost empty so we were not bothered with any noise! Near Palenque ruins
Cons: No mosquito nets. We had a terrace but it was dirty. The pool was not really cleaned. It almost felt like an abandoned hotel ... I think it could be an amazing place / or it used to be but efforts need to be made.
6.3 Good
Pros: - The view - Clean rooms - Good AC
Cons: - the team, very unfriendly although we tried to speak spanish a lot, and not helpful at all - They tried to scam us for 400 pesos - no hot water - you can order almost nothing from the restaurant, they had no juices or anything else left

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place away from the city, where monkeys come in the morning and you can feed them. Very nice and clean place to prepare meals, very nice garden with dinning rooms where you can hang out.. Very nice bathroom with great shower.
Cons: Need to take taxi to the bus station/town, bit it is cheap-like 2 or 3 eur.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is an amazing place in the jungle. The cabanas are very comfortable and with a lot of privacy. The can order pizza for you if you're tired and don feel like going to the town for dinner. The breakfast is a lot and is super delicious! And the best is the family of the monkeys that sometimes join for food :)
4.6 Okay
Pros: Fed a family of howler monkeys on arrival. Only redeeming factor. Dies not outweigh inconvenieces
Cons: In your site you fail to mention a shared bathroom for the whole complex. One would think this is an important element in deciding where to stay. You also omit mentioning that the facility has no AC, a must in that scathing climate. Very rustic environment.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was a green and peaceful place. Besides that it was also clean and organised. Staff; actually mother and son, were friendly, nice and ready to help.
Cons: If check in times earlier it would perfect

Cons: Nothing everything was perfect
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The cabanas are charmingly made of bamboo, howler monkeys come to this property only, and you can feed them!! They provide bananas for them (plus a giant iguana!). Super-sweet family, great kitchen - toilet & shower facilities are in other small outbuildings - - done with much character. Only the sounds of the forest at night; Wonderful!! Breakfast was fantastic also.
Cons: My bed was a bit worn in the twin cabana & towels were rough.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing time there! It is such a nice, relaxed place. You feel like you are sleeping in the middle of the jungle. Perfect place to chill out and just enjoy the nature. Also we could feed monkeys there! The lady who runs the place is super sweet and makes delicious breakfast.
Cons: A bit outside the city, you have to take a taxi to get there
6.3 Good
Pros: good breakfast, nice environment
Cons: bed was horrible, have been sleeping basically on wood, when you don't have a car you cannot do anything there, you have the noise of the street all the time and there is nothing in walking distance around

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is gorgeous!!!
4.2 Okay
Pros: Grounds and pool.
Cons: The restaurant food was terrible and we didn't get what we ordered for breakfast. Both meals, chilaquiles and bfast burrito were missing eggs! Potato was uncooked. We paid top dollar for this bfast and it was incomplete and substandard. Dinner was not good either. We paid for a taxi into town for our other meals. The bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. There was hardly anyone staying at the resort yet they decided to put us in a room close to reception so when the power went out during the storm in the middle of the night we were so close to the extremely loud generator that kept us awake. It didn't even turn the aircon/ power back on so it was really hot. Then to top that off they decided that 8.30am was a good time to start mowing right outside our room. It is a huge resort but they mowed directly at the front of our room! They also mowed the morning before so we could not sleep in that day either. We were quoted 400 pesos for an airport taxi by reception to find out the going rate is only 200 pesos so we organized our own taxi. The service was very slow and we felt uncomfortable in the restaurant like cd we were ordering the wrong things.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptionally courteous, friendly and extremely helpful when we needed something. The hotel grounds invite you to relax and enjoy nature. Food at the restaurant was very delicious. We love everything of this hotel.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and setting is outstanding.
Cons: Poor quality mattresses. Tired pool chairs and towels.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the ruins with wonderful grounds, a lovely swimming pool, and surrounded by jungle and beautiful birds. The setting is fantastic and a great place to relax after the Palenque ruins. Big restaurant with fair range for evening meal. We didn’t have breakfast.
Cons: Room was a bit damp smelling because of humidity but outside made up for that.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Staff is extremely unfriendly. They cannot speak a word of English. Check in with a huge queue when we asked for late checkout they impulse us to pay one more night. We asked the rules for extra payment and the staff says “It’s the law here and you are in Mexico.” We had travelled around Mexico for 10 days, never had such an unfriendly experience. The credit card machine wasn’t working neither, they asked us take cash from the center. Room was far up in the hill from reception no car service to drop the luggage.
7.5 Good

Cons: Rooms up hill, hard to go up and down the hill, the golf cart not always available when you need them, Staff does not speak English at all

Pros: The swimming pool is great next to the jungle (you can see monkeys). The view from the restaurant over the balneario is really nice. 10minutes by car from the archeological site.
Cons: The beds are not very comfortable. The small patio of our room was not very clean and with no chairs therefore quite unusable. No mosquito net.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I highly recommend staying here, so relaxing and beautiful surroundings, lovely hearing the sounds of the birds and monkeys in the mornings and evenings. Great breakfast buffet, friendly staff, restaurant and small convenience shop on site, clean rooms, hot shower, and only short distance in taxi to centre. Definitely stay here rather than in the centre - it's worth the money!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Access to the beautiful pool in the Rio Chacamax. Great restaurant where they accept credit cards. Lots of wildlife on the property.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very comfortable beds. Big room. Very close to palenque town and acheological place. Easy to find it. Free parking. Good breakfast, big variety. Helpful stuff.
Cons: No wifi in the rooms, only in the reception. Towels in very bad condition. Dirty room, a lot of hair in the floor. Noise from the other guests, because walls very thin.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The service was execellent. The waiters very nice and helpful. The river side was pretty nice.
Cons: rooom was too tiny and the building was getting old. We would have prefered to stay in the new one. The smell was bad and the furniture from centuries. The beds were not comfortable.

Pros: Close to nature
Cons: It did not allow guests and I was charged about 20 dollars more than the price advertised in Booking.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Our room (standard double plus) looked nothing like the ones on the photos. It was shabby and it could use some refreshing and thorough cleaning. There was no hair drier and the air conditioning was so loud we could barely sleep. The hotel restaurant was mediocre, we had to wait forever for food or to pay and at the end they tried to take us for a ride by adding stuff we didn’t order to our check. This place is not worth its price.

Casssa Vlanca Hotel - Palenque - Building

8.8 Excellent (226 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Comfortable simplicity and affordable rates await you at Casssa Vlanca Hotel, a downtown Palenque hotel that used to be a private home. The property has air-conditioned accommodations along with daily breakfasts, a swimming pool and complimentary wireless Internet access.
7.0 Good
Pros: We liked that our room had a small outdoor terrace and that each of the 2 beds had ambient wall lighting next to them. Our hosts were the best! They lent us a container for us to use as a cat litter box for our cat companion, shared their personal filtered water with us because it was too late to go buy some, gave us early access to the swimming pool the next morning, and helped us unload and load our heavy suitcases from our rental car!
6.7 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff, quiet rooms and a good location for doing everything that Palenque has to offer. Good value for money, too.
Cons: It’s a cheap and friendly place, so don’t be expecting too much. Not the comfiest bed, ok-ish shower, could do with a general deep clean & spruce up. None of this should put you off if you’re in town for a couple of nights - it really is a good base.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The location was undesireable with no amenities and with nothing of interest nearby. The hallways and room were in need of paint. The matress, sheets and towels were so old and fit to be put on the street. The shower only had a very low volume of water.
7.1 Good
Pros: Amaury was super helpful and an amazing host. The beds were really comfortable and the room felt spacious.
Cons: The AC took a very very long time to actually cool the room. The walls in the room were scorching hot, so all the heat was trapped in there with us.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff are amazing! Super helpful at check in with suggestions of where to eat, what to do and how to do it around the area. We really enjoyed just talking with Amaury around the pool. They also let us check in early after arriving from a night bus and stay around the pool once we had checked out while waiting for another bus. Rooms are clean and comfortable with air con. Toiletries and towel provided. Good Wi-Fi. Great location-few minutes walk to main square and collectivos.
Cons: Nothing major- worth knowing that water isn't provided but it didn't really make much difference for us as there is lots of shops close by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, lots of beautiful little cats wandering around, nice and airy and the lovely gentleman at reception was so helpful and took time to help me plan my itinerary for my day in palenque. Also saw a wild red parakeet from my window!
Cons: Nothing really... I had a great stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, the hotel is small but comfortable, the room is spacious and clean, the hosts are very hospitable.
Cons: There were problems with A/C. It is either too cold or too hot, no medium mode and it is very noisy. There is no mosquito net on the window, so it was impossible to open the window at night. We used A/C but it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep with it because of the noise and temperature.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff. The manager gets up at 5:30 in the morning (!) to ensure you catch your tour bus.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I had a late bus to catch and they were so kind to let me stay at their property and wait until it was time for me to leave.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is several minutes walk from the central square of Palenque. The room has a small terrace which is not the one to hang out on, but you can leave the door open at night to get some fresh air in the room (that was very important to me as I can't sleep with A/C or fan on), though be aware of possible mosquitos. There is also A/C in the room. The staff is amazingly friendly, they will explain you how to get and where to find colectivos (transport) to the main points of interest in the area, as well as recommend some places to eat. The parrot keychain on the room keys is simply adorable.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. 8.0 Excellent
Pros: Had a very good location at the entrance of the national park. On the other side of the road is El Pachan for nice dinner. In the evening you will hear monkeys in the trees.
Cons: The pool was not very clean. The filtering machine didn't work?
7.5 Good
Pros: Location in the jungle surrounded by animals, also close to the entrance of the ruins. Rooms are cleaned every day. Nice swimming pool but it isn’t refreshing because it’s located in the sun.
Cons: Recommendation: improve the restaurant. Most of the guests are going to the restaurant across the street because the food is better there. Would be more comfortable if there was an airconditioning in every room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. The pool area was great to relax at. Great location right at the entrance to the national park.
Cons: The pool was warm which wasn’t the most refreshing on a hot day! The restaurant was quite expensive. We had to pay for water too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly during our whole stay, we also got the possibility to check in earlier. The pool and the whole Garden is amazing. The Location is very chillaxed in middle of the jungle. The Location is close to the temples and the parque Axules.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great garden in the jungle with a nice little pool, although the exterior showers were much more refreshing!! Cabanas have huge fan. We could hear howlers monkeys on the evenings and mornings (4am jungle alarm clock). We also saw sereque nearby (Google it!). Super easy to go to the city or ruinas with the colectivos passing every 5 mins.
Cons: If you come out of the city to be in El Panchan, the one issue would be the food. Offer is very limited. The staff at the restaurant Reina Roja is super nice still but the food is below average. It's also true for other place around!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Being able to spot tucans from my room, kitchen was well furbished (but to small),
Cons: Pool was dirty, and the kitchen is to small if you are not the only one cooking (as some point we were 8 in there cooking and didn’t have enough space to eat, but if you want to take your plate somewhere else you have to pay.... it’s a non sense)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely amazing. Possibly the best place I have ever stayed as in as a backpacker. In the middle of the jungle surrounded by wildlife. Bridges, hammocks, the pool, the kitchen was a massive plus it was all just perfect!
Cons: The water isn’t free and costs 5 pesos per litre which is a little annoying especially when cooking but everything else is amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved loved loved our stay here! Beautiful place, wonderful people, always happy to help. Special thanks to Jessica for being so helpful and always smiling! Highly recommend this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have been to Palenque 3 times and Kin Balam is the best place I have stayed. I would recommend it 100%. Its location, prices, facilities, cleanliness and staff are all superb and of great quality and professionalism. My gf and I just got engaged and we decided to celebrate it during the weekend, so we came to Palenque. Luckily, we found this place. It is located right in the natural reserve, so you will be surrounded by nature, you will listen to monkeys, parrots and you will enjoy a night full of stars. From the hotel you can go to the Palenque archeological site walking if you decide so (just 1.5 km). The facilities are really nice and they blend quite nicely with the nature. We stayed at a private cabin which was comfy and nice. You get what you need, specially by staying right in the jungle. Personally, I appreciated this and it allowed me to enjoy my stay and my vacations much more. It has many nice areas to enjoy your stay including a pool, hamacas and a fire. I did not use their wi-fi since I wanted to disconnect from the outside world, but I saw other guests using he internet, having skype conversations and social media. Their staff is very professional and apt. They all are friendly and helpful. You hardly notice them because they are very quite. The whole place is clean and tidy. Our cabin did not included private toilet/shower but we didn’t need one. The shared toilets/showers were always clean. Food was not included, but we had breakfast and dinner at their restaurant/bar. I really liked the food. The menu was straightforward and concise. Nothing pretentious. The food was really good (the hamburguer and the “caldo reina roja” were delicious). They have a happy hour, which is incredible after a long day of sighseeing. We enjoyed our beers next to the pool. Prices for food and drinks are fair.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: too close to the road
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: The restaurant is very open- the one across the road is cosier especially in cool damp weather.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s a good small hotel set in the jungle. Rooms are scattered around the grounds in cabins so no neighbour noise. Staff are friendly and they have a great pool which is the focal point of afternoons when everyone has finished exploring. Spa on site for a massage which is a definite luxury in somewhere so remote. Good location, ten mins from bus station and ruins.
Cons: The restaurant is ok, not terrible but not great. But it’s decently priced so they are not over charging. Can’t complain about anything else. It’s worth a stay if you want to visit palenque ruins, only ten mins in a cab.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is set in a wonderful tropical garden, ver short distance to the ruines. Asolutel.stunning. Good place to relax and a good location as a base for tours of this area.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: the swimming pool was really nice with deck chairs around, tables around the pool for drinks and lunch, the location close to archeological and natural sites
Cons: the size of our room (for 5 people) was not large enough
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting in the jungle. Very spacious room, very comfortable, nice balcony overlooking the pool (junior suite). Friendly staff.
Cons: Unfortunately the wifi/internet connection did not work my second day. Only a connection at the reception
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great and very relaxing place. Extremely friendly staff. Lovely room. Very quiet.
Cons: The restaurant (for breakfast) is not great
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The forestall location away from the town and halfway the temple ruïns.
Cons: The houses were built close together and detailing was crudely done so the view from the otherwise nice terrace was not what it could be.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location very close to Palenque-Zona Archeological in a small “jungle” - we saw nice parrots and other animals Pool was clean and open till 9pm Staff was friendly and helpful Breakfast was ok, a bit overpriced Drinks in restaurants in very reasonable priced although not very tasty and served in plastic cups with plastic straws (something that needs to be changed)
Cons: Hotel needs some refreshment of the interiors
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Neat setting, lovely pool, some of the best food of our trip, loved the AC in the room and hammock on the front deck. Could hear the Holler Monkeys from the Hotel.
Cons: Staff was meh.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cabanas were spacious and clean. Beds a bit hard, but ok. Hammock in front of the cabana was nice to chill in and the area with trees and flowers was beautiful. Pool was big with nice chairs.
Cons: Pool could do with some maintenance. Restaurant was fine for breakfast and lunch, but for dinner you can better go into town, it was not that great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The swimmingpool is the big plus in this hotel. And the tropical garden. Really nice.
Cons: The rooms (small houses) were a bit spartanic, the lights are far too bright in the rooms. Not very romantic. The rooms are 3 star, but the rest of the hotel is 4 star. They covered all of the roofs of the rooms with black plastic, maybe because of some leakage? It took the smart look away form the houses. It was a silly sight in such a lovely garden. I hope this was temporarily.
5.4 Okay
Pros: We had booked this hotel for the atmosphere and because it was in the jungle and had a large swimming pool, we thought it would be great to combine this hotel with a relaxing, peaceful stay with a visit to Palenque. The room (5 persons) is clean and good beds, a terrace at the front with a chair and hammock. A table with a number of chairs would be recommended. The animals in the garden are also a nice addition. Tip bring insect repellent.
Cons: We arrived 1 hour before the official check-in (3 p.m.) but we were asked to come back an hour later because the room was not ready yet. We are actually used to being invited to use the facilities until your room ready so did not feel very welcome. The first night was terrible there was a large group of tourists who drank and sang so much liquor from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am and screamed that we couldn't sleep because of the noise and ruined the whole atmosphere of our stay / jungle. The hotel said nothing about it and just stood and watched by the pool. Because it was such a large group, we thought it better not to look for an excallation (because we were with two young children). When we said something to the reception next day they offered an excuse and a note would be made for the rest, no compensation or a coffee for the inconvenience. We were so tired that Palenque was not really a success. Very unfortunate since we have driven 10 hours for this. The night after we held our heart whether another coach with tourists would arrive but now it was quiet .. Unfortunately our impression was already signed. Concerning customer friendliness (for all customers), improvement can certainly be achieved here. The coffee is terrible.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location for accessing bus station, nice pool area, and close to touristy restaurants and travel agencies.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The room was comfortable but the service was dreadful. Staff at reception was not welcoming, nor very professional. To give you an idea, our breakfast voucher was given to us when we checked out. The level of English of the reception staff was very poor and that created problems of communication. In the restaurant, staff was also not very professional as they seem to be anxious to get rid of guests at breakfast time. As soon as you had finished one dish they rushed to remove the plates or cups from the table. It would have been nice to enjoy my breakfast with some peace and quiet,
Cons: See above
7.9 Good
Pros: All the personal was smiling and helpful
Cons: Rooms on first floor has no view ( windows on corridor )

Pros: Great option to stay before visiting Palenque archeological zone. Nice pool in the garden made our afternoon. Very kind and helpful personnel (including help with my flat tyre :-)) Good quality of WiFi and breakfast.
Cons: Nothing important
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a very nice and comfortable hotel, less than 5 mins walk to the ADO bus terminal, and next to the cafes and restaurants. I arrived at the hotel at 8am and was able to go straight to the room with no extra charge, amazing. Staff are very very good, and the laundry service is efficient and cheap, would stay here again, no question. There is also a nice pool.
Cons: everything was perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay very much. The food was fine and so was the service and the room was very adequate.
Cons: The outside temperature, which is not your responsibility.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet and clean, really good location. The rooms were equipped with a coffee kit, and good number of towels. It’s great they have an environmental friendly policy - i chose to adhere to it as i don’t need to have my bed linen and towels washed everyday. The restaurant served affordable and great food, and the swimming pool was perfect to relax after spending the morning exploring the ruins.
Cons: It would have been great if breakfast was included in the price. Apart from that, everything was perfect.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location 250m from the bus station in the less frenetic Canada district, along with a few other hotels, cafes and restaurants. Large clean rooms.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: I booked a room in the hotel on the basis of the good review it received and because of the location and the cultural experience I was hoping to receive. being a world travel and have already experienced different localities /hotels/ hostels/ resorts/ boutique hotels in Mexico. I must say that this hotel was the worst experience I had. I left my shoes to dry out on the terrace one day and the moment I realized that I lost it. I emailed and called the hotel and they said that they will look for it. once I retired to Chiapas after couple of days. they told me that they didn't find it. after making sure that I m serious about this shoe - not for its price but out of the principle that I dislike being robbed in a place that is full of cameras and in a place that is suppose to be respectful. they said that they will check the camera monitor during that day . after I returned in couple of days - they said they couldn't tell. - Maybe it was a ghost. that doesnt matter - what matters is that I will be returning to Chiapas in couple of days and will be filling a police claim in the hope that this hotel learns its lesson faster in the future. Best, Gheen Hamed
Cons: robbery.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was quite big, with two comfortable beds. Good wifi and also good AC, but we couldn't turn it on during the night because it flew the cold air directly on us. Bathroom a little bit outdated, but with good water pressure
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent customer service. Hotel let me check in at 6am and have my room ready as requested. Location is excellent. I paid for the room on arrival but then needed the money to pay for a day excursion so the hotel let me have the money back till I changed currency and paid later in the night. Ever so kind and caring staff. Loved it!
Cons: Would like a fridge in the room to keep drinks chilled.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location on la Canada, comfortable room with air con and WiFi, very clean, nice staff, saw godlier monkeys right out side the hotel in the trees!!
Cons: The laundry service is a little expensive & 250 pesos for what I usually have paid between 30 - 50 pesos for!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel close to the bus station.
Cons: No Wifi in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel has a great location. It is near to the bus station and the street is incredible.
Cons: Mainly the staff speak only spanish language.
7.5 Good
Pros: Well located and clean
Cons: Staff starts doing the maintenance work at 7.30am... closed to our room. We were woke up by noises of hammer and drilling machine. It was very inappropriate to do this...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a nice, calm street close to the bus station as well as the city centre. Many cool restaurants on this street including the one of the hotel (recommended). The room was OK.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very central, clean, comfortable, nice staff and private parking.. couldn’t ask for more!
Cons: Everything was great!
7.1 Good
Pros: I like the location. Palenque is small and there are many hotels around the area. There are hotels on the main shopping street. This hotel is 2 streets over. I like the room, it is big. The shower is strong. The air conditioner works fine but noisy but no complaint. I like the ceiling fan which offer respite from the heat. Drinking water was provided and it was helpful. The staff was nice . She tried her best to help and I appreciate that despite being overworked. I like the fresh towel every day and the garbage can emptied. The room was quiet. It was eerily quiet. I only saw a few guests there. There were no street noises.
Cons: The hotel said it provides breakfast but it takes too long. I was there at 7:30 hoping to eat something quick. There were 2 tables, a table with a couple and a table with a couple and a child. It took 10 to 15 minutes to serve the first table. By that time I ran out of time. I need to go to the archeological site before the heat . I didn’t fault the person who works there who by the way was the same reception that I saw the previous day at 2:30 pm and it was 29 hours and the same person serving breakfast. By the time I left the following morning at 7:30 am, I saw the same receptionist. She worked like 40 hours and more . I think the receptionist was overworked. They need to have more staff and let the receptionist rest and not have hours that was longer than an emergency room doctor or intern. The dining room was very small with maybe 5 small tables. The kitchen where the breakfast was prepared was ridiculously small. Because of the lousy service, the hotel is better off not offer any breakfast and lower the price instead. I saw hotels in the area for around the same price. The room has a view of a public area so no privacy. I have to keep the blind close at all time. The bed was high. I am 5 feet 8 inches and it is a bit difficult climbing to bed. There wasn’t any liquid soap to wash your hands. This is a low cost item. The room is not very well lit. There is only 1 overhead light and 1 desk lamp. Be careful with the staircase as on the last flight of step to the top floor, the first step is higher than the rest and I almost tripped. The internet doesn’t work well at all. It was fading in and out. Forgetting about streaming movies. Overall I feel that there are better hotels in the area and this one is not my favorite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cleanness; dedicated staff; breakfast’s quality; located nearby restaurants; nice furnitures & interiors in mexican style; quite place
Cons: We encountered the problem of no hot water in our room

Pros: The staff is super friendly. The hotel is nice. Unfortunately Palenque city doesn’t have a lot to offer but from the hotel it is really easy to travel around. Best breakfast ever!!

Cons: WiFi is kind of weak in rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance from bus station Close to main shopping strip Nice breakfast Great coffee Helpful receptionist Room was spotless and cleaned every day

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful garden with a clean, modern cabanas with all the amenities. Great place!
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, cheap restaurant on site, quiet cabins in the forest, clean and pleasant.
Cons: It was perfect for me as I don't like a noisy place and I was traveling alone but for a couple, the cabin would have been too small (they have bigger ones). The picture of the pool does not depict reality: it is very small and neglected and no one went swimming into it. Also, the restaurant area with the palapa could be noisy and small if there were many people. The whole place was slightly run down, except for the garden. They have captive exotic birds.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: People is super kind and rooms amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sleeping with the howling monkeys peacocks and parrots
Cons: Maybe a little better lighting in the bungalow and upgraded pool area but still super nice

Pros: Location was good.A short drive to everything we wanted to see and do. Enjoyed the small troop of howler monkeys. Breakfast was good. Better breakfasts just a short drive into town. The pool looked nice but we did not use.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed there many times, and like before the room was clean and comfortable, the grounds were lovely and the staff helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: AC worked well. Internet was good close to router. Bed was comfy. Location was dog friendly which is what we needed for a few days out of the heat.
Cons: Water could have stayed warmer for longer. Better bug protection in the room. Expand the internet connection to inside the rooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was Clean, allowed pets, the sound of been in the jungle when you step out of your cabin, and the big plus was having AC

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff are incredibly friendly. We had an early check out (3am) and staff were incredibly accommodating and pre arranged a taxi for us. Large bedrooms, very comfy beds. Restaurant is a little on the pricey side but excellent service and delicious food, plus very understanding of our dietary requirements and really happy to help. Hotel is an easy 15 mins walk from the centre of palenque. Too far from the bus station to walk but very cheap taxis (30 pesos) so not a major problem.
Cons: Some of the facilities are a little tired, and the gym equipment was broken. Only one of the pools was in use and it was 31C so very warm and not as refreshing as we would have hoped!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was definitely the best hotel I have been during my whole trip through Yucatán . Price comfort relation is absolutely fantastic .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: awesome service, comfortable beds, great breakfast, good facilities and good value for money. This place exceeded our expectations based on what we paid. Would recommend staying here if in town for a few days.
Cons: located at the quiet end of town so needed to walk or taxi to a larger selection of bars and restaurants (only 40 pesos so not an issue). There are some good small local restaurants open for lunch but nothing for dinner in the area other than the hotel.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The possibility to have different service like laundry, not easy to find everywhere
Cons: Dirty, room stinks
5.8 Okay
Pros: Food and breakfast were good. Waiters polite, prevenant. Hotel nestled in a nice park
Cons: People should respect the rules of the swimming pool. No shower before swimming, and a lot swam in their casual dress. What did the staff ?
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice room with cute details. Pool is great, free towels for the sunbeds.
Cons: The tennisrackets were worn out, but it is free to play so... A bit out of the center. Food in the restaurant is overpriced for it's quality.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, only a 20 mins drive from the Palenque ruins.
Cons: The music at the pool was a bit too loud, but when we complained about it they turned it down. The food was OK, but the buffet choice was quite limited.
5.4 Okay
Pros: polite staff
Cons: This is not a 3 star hotel, it's a 2 or a 1 star. didn't even have a shower curtain or soap. I had to call to ask for towels.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nicely located in the middle of green gardens.
Cons: Staff barely spoken any English.
