8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in Chartres. Friendly and very helpful host during our one night stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful hostess. Good surroundings and great breakfast.
Cons: Took a lot of time to find the car park. Clear directions on which way to go exactly would help enormously. Satnav didn't help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You can see the Cathedral from the bedroom window, and it is a 3 minute walk. Dominique was a gracious hostess, and the .room was large and comfortable. We had a wonderful meal at Esprit Gourmand, which was also a short walk
Cons: The only negative was the fact that you cannot drive up to the house, so we parked in a lot a couple of blocks away and rolled our luggage. This is stated in the info and was not a real problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish and very comfortable. Charming and attentive host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Family home style.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Less than 5 minutes walk to Chartes Cathedral and close to shopping and restaurants.

Cons: Na
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved this little gem!! We were welcomed by the host (Lester) and his friendly spaniel dog, Lennon. Lester did not speak much English, but we were shown around and understood enough until the other host (Dominique) arrived and was able to communicate with us better. She recommended a few things and a wonderful restaurant to have dinner. The home was gorgeous, with a stunning back yard garden and close proximity to everything. The church was right around the corner and there was an amazing light show that evening! We loved the breakfast in the morning in their beautiful dining room with another couple staying there. Everything was quiet and clean and we would love to return! A couple things to note- the hotel is not clearly marked (very small sign on the side of the door) and it is on a pedestrian street (no cars). There is an overnight parking lot around the corner, but it did not take U.S. credit cards, so that was an issue and we had to call the number on the pay machine for assistance.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property in excellent location but be aware there is no parking near by and be prepared to park s few blocks away
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place to stay! Beautiful home, incredible hostess and just steps away from the Cathedrale! I enjoyed having breakfast with other guests and making those connections. I was travelling alone and felt very safe and supported.

Pros: Secure parking
Cons: Shutters didn’t keep out light
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was at a beautiful historic building made into a bob (for several of the rooms) close to the downtown old city of Chartres. It was clean, comfortable, and had beautiful views of other parts of the old city. It was a bnb so the very sweet, friendly owner made a wonderful breakfast with our own table area on one side of a large living room area with a terrace on the back side overlooking a beautiful forested back yard (so you couldn't tell you were in a city by viewing the back.) There was also a private password protected entry and parking was available. We would love to come back again and have more time to stay! The owner also provided us with the names of a few restaurants she recommended and the one we went to was very good! She told us the time of the nighttime light show at Chartres Cathedral and that was also amazing! (I usually don't write many written reviews on the site but this place was special!) **One of the pictures wouldn't load properly so hopefully the site fixes that.
Cons: Nothing that I didn't like except that I couldn't stay longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anne and Gilles are two very kind and welcoming people. We had a beautiful spacious room (caramel room), which was very nicely furnished and I noticed some nice details, which made the stay even more comfortable. In the corridor there was a little table with coffee and tea, which I appreciated very much! The greatest part of the stay was the breakfast, which Anne prepared in the loveliest manner possible: outside on a beautiful garden terrace with everything what is a french breakfast about! And delicious homemade jams! We felt really good here, it was probably the greatest place we have ever stayed in! Merci pour tout les belles souvenirs !

Pros: Quiet and safe and excellent private parking. A little oasis and you wouldn’t know you were just 10 walking minutes from the main town, the Cathedral, the river, and the park. Delicious breakfast and bought me muesli especially!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything-location, accommodation, owner. We had to leave at 7am. Owner kindly offered to get up and make us breakfast. She is a lovely lady running a lovely establishment. Walk in shower, separate toilet.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great apartment with really good shower - good breakfast of fresh bread, croissants, preserves and coffee. Off-road secure parking, and very quiet.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: At the end of a street just outside the old city walls. About a ten to fifteen minute walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral. Very comfortable bed, very quiet and dark to sleep. Good sized shower and separate toilet. Breakfast served in the main dining room of the house - fresh croissants, jams, bread, orange juice and yogurt with large good coffee. We had bikes but there was room to park your car in a secure yard as the property has electric gates.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and spacious accommodation with secure parking just outside the room. In fact the accommodation consisted of two rooms: the double bedroom and another room with possibly a single bed/sofa, table and chairs, a fridge and tea making facilities. The walk-in rainfall shower is lovely. Breakfast in our host’s house was delicious. It is an easy stroll into town - approximately 15 minutes on foot to the glorious cathedral.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for a few nights at the end of a 'planes, trains and automobiles' trip around three EU countries. We picked Chartres to relax before heading back to work. The weekend we were there (first weekend in June) the town was buzzing with people and activities. Tip: book restaurants in advance! And there are many good ones. We loved La Rosace, it was beautifully designed, with a garden to relax in after a night out, great breakfasts, lovely hostess. A little bit of heaven at the end of a great European trip. Oh and it's within walking distance of the train station - even for backpackers like us. And 10 minutes from the center of town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very nice and helpful. She told us about the fantastic illumination show at the church and other buildings in the town at night time. The room was very quiet at night, the bed very comfortable. Everything was clean and nice decorated. The breakfast was good as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely apartment we usually use Camponile chain, but decided to use booking.com and pleased we did with this little gem
Cons: N/a
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and clean apartment and our host was so welcoming. She gave us good information about the city. Conveniently close to the centre. Breakfast was included and was very good, fresh quality products.
Cons: Everything went well.

Pros: This is not only a beautiful home, but also a wonderful experience. Martine and Jean Phillip are incredibly warm and generous. They received us as if we were family friends. They are inspiring and their home is an expression of who they are.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dinner was very good and very delicious. Also, the service was good. (Everything was very good.)
Cons: Nothing was bad. (Everything was not bad.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the warmth of the welcome and friendliness of the owners. We were treated more like friends than clients in their beautiful home. Wonderful food and garden to die for. I should have asked what the relaxing smell was in the bedroom. Slept like a dream.
Cons: Impossible to answer it was so perfect except next time stay longer and in warmer weather to use the pool.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous luxury get away with wonderful atmosphere.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beatiful uniq place. Rooms are very nicely decorated and there is plenty of extra. Super clean. Pool area is also so nice. Service was excelent, we felt very wellcome. We got good tips. Chartres is 20min by car, but there are restaurants close by too. This is place for relax.
Cons: There is separate aircondition machine in the room which is very very noisy and unefficient. Our room temperature was just ok due the window shutters, not aircondition machine. Breakfast was in the beatiful room and set-up was beatiful, but content was quite basic. With the price paid, you would expect some extra. overall we were happy and this is certainly uniq, but quite pricy place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay. In particular the delicious breakfasts, comfortable beds, the pool and garden and the welcome and hospitality of the owner.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Described as a chambre d'hote but larger and rather more formal than you might expect from that description. Our room was enormous and very comfortable. Friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a charming old building with many attractive features. Martine Lafont, hostess and ci-owner of the Auberge de la Bergerie gave us a warm welcome on our arrival and looked after us very pleasantly. The Auberge is set in a very attractive garden with a swimming pool. The food was excellent. This was our second stay in this lovely auberge. If ever we went back to France near this auberge we would very happily stay there again.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: No complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful oasis of stylish calm; beautifully presented and a warm and civilised welcome; breakfast was in an enchanting dining room and delightful. An excellent find and great centre for exploring Chartres and around.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great quiet place very near the center of town. Charming and romantic.
Cons: The upstairs room was difficult for me but there is an alternative.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to town, but quiet and lovely grounds. Tasty breakfast, gracious hosts.
Cons: No improvements suggested. All was good.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was lovely, and the overall property was very well appointed. The location was a 5 minute walk to the cathedral and surrounding restaurants and shops.
Cons: There was no signage for the Hotel, we circled the neighborhood and finally had to get out and walk up and down the street. A little sign said ring for Clos de Chedeville. Once we rang, someone said "J'Arrive", and we waited for almost five minutes for someone to come. It's obvious this is not their main business. There were spiders and bugs all around the room. The bed was not comfortable. Excepts for at breakfast there was no one around to talk to about the neighborhood, restaurants and directions. We were on our own. Very disappointed in this location. Every other property we have stayed at has been great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was very good. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable and when we opened the curtains in the morning it was like being in the countryside - chickens and ducks in the lovely garden. The breakfast was excellent and it was served in an amazing dining room, Our host was very welcoming and we would definitely recommend her property to any one visiting the charming city of Chartres.
Cons: nothing

9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff could not have been more helpful - getting my car which was parked nearby when I checked in, giving directions, pointing our the light show of summer, which turned out to be spectacular..
Cons: It's an old building and a bit faded in part. Not enough plugs for charging all the things we need to charge these days, but that is common in older hotels.
7.9 Good
Pros: Perfectly situated and a lovely big bed
Cons: The breakfast was over priced and average . Room a bit dated and smelled of old tobacco smoke .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent dinner, but poor coffee in the morning from a machine. Someone to park the car.
Cons: The plastic bath and shower were poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We always stay here on our journey home from the Aveyron to Aberdeen in Scotland and it is always a splendid experience. The room is good and clean and the staff are very helpful. They are the same staff year after year and that is a very good sign of a proper establishment. The breakfast is great and the nearby parking is safe and very convenient. The lift comes up opposite the hotel door! Everything we need is offered in a friendly and professional manner. Thank you

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The suite was lovely, spacious and beautifuly designed. The location was absolutely perfect, walking distance to the cathedral and to the center.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quality bedding and towels. Friendly helpful staff. Nice pub style bar. Safe private parking and excellent location.
Cons: Could do with a Nespresso machine in the room instead of instant coffee granules. Bedside alarm clock faulty, could not stop it flashing all night! Lovely and warm but radiators noisy due to air in system.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location and the hotel is well appointed
Cons: There has been a real change in the atmosphere and welcome in this hotel This is our 10th stay at this hotel and for the first time ever we were treated with real arrogant indifference. It must have new management because it felt so different what we have been used to and for that price I expect courtesy. With a very heavy heart this is the last time we will choose this hotel.

It is a central base from which to explore the city’s main attractions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you want to be able to look out your window and feel you could touch the walls of Chartres Cathedral, then this is the place! We were in the spacious attic room that takes a few flights of stairs to reach but well worth it. The staff won our hearts when they grabbed our heavy luggage for us and trudged up the steps. The restaurants along the street were great and reasonably priced.
Cons: Some construction at the hotel made the GPS rather worthless.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A historic house directly on the Cathedral square, with stunning view of the cathedral. We had an elegant two room suite decorated like an eighteenth century drawing room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location location location. Super staff fun old building. NOT your run-of-the-mill modern day hotel. Amazing breakfast. Look out the window of our room right onto the cathedral
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A very atmospheric old building near the cathedral, charming staff and easy parking included at the cathedral car park
Cons: No complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chartres is easy and inexpensive to reach via Paris by train and the hotel an easy ten minute walk from the railroad station. Staying here felt like being at home. The room was comfortable and with a view of the cathedral a stone's throw across the street. I enjoyed relaxing in the suite after an afternoon exploring the neighboring shops and sights. The night time light show was amazing. Breakfast was ample, served tableside, and more than enough to start the day. I look forward to returning. Thank you.
7.1 Good
Pros: To say that the hotel is handy for the truly stunning cathedral is an understatement; a very brief walk and you’re inside one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Breathtaking. The owner is charming, helpful and served a very good breakfast. The room (Penelope; all the rooms have quaint names; the room at the top of the house is called, appropriately, Les Anges) was eccentric and unlike anything I have ever stayed in before. Huge, circular bed, disco lights in the shower and a radio in the loo! Furniture either black, white or silver.
Cons: The shower needs a new base and urgently as the temporary bit of wooden matting was frankly awful and let the whole bathroom area down. It would be very simple to replace. I generally felt that the hotel could do with a refresh. It is charming, but some TLC is required to make what could be a really special place indeed.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This boutique hotel is next door to the famous Chartres Cathedral and right in the center of town. It's an easy walk to several local restaurants and bars. The staff was super helpful helping us haul our luggage up two narrow flights of stairs. The room decor was eclectic, but very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had a separate water closet which makes it convenient for a couple sharing a bathroom. It has excellent lighting. The breakfast was outstanding! Great coffee, lovely pastries and a variety of cheeses and meats with fresh squeezed orange juice. Well worth the price.
Cons: Just be aware that this is a tiny hotel. The proprietors go home for the evening and your only entrance & exit is from a second story door. It's not difficult. Just be sure you understand how it works. Also, the parking is in a municipal garage a short walk from the hotel. Given the one way & narrow streets it's a lot longer drive to the garage than a walk.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, modern bathroom, mini fridge, quirky door locks
Cons: I could see where it could be noisy, but for us the street was quiet, so we had a great night's sleep
5.6 Okay
Pros: Great location, excellent room, very good breakfast, value for money. But see below.
Cons: We booked a room for the night of 16 December 2010. We went out to dinner in the evening. When we returned, at about 9.30pm, the hotel was locked and there was nobody there. It transpired that we were the only residents and the staff had left for the night. It was raining very hard and extremely cold. After much banging at the front door, which was fruitless, we went to a neighbouring restaurant. An extremely pleasant young man there (at Le Bistrot de la Cathedrale) contacted the Parvis staff who told him we should use our room key. Long story short, the key did not work. Finally the staff member turned up and let us in, acknowledging that it was the front door lock which did not work. It was by now sub-zero temperature. Not happy.
7.7 Good
Pros: Very Individually French - lovely warm atmosphere - many unique features - very comfprtable - excellent breakfast - other good restaurants very close
7.0 Good
Pros: It has character, charm and perfect location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel... Nothing to much trouble.. Everything worked ...loads of hot water ..good position.. Good food.. Owner was away his mother made us feel very welcome and at home...
Cons: None
6.3 Good
Pros: We stayed for two nights with a view to visiting the cathedral and old town at our leisure, so the location was ideal. The hotel is of interesting character, where uneven floors and doors which don't quite fit properly are all part of its quirky charm. Our room, Les Louis, was warm and comfortable, with a novel shower and a surprise kitchenette in a cupboard. Internet access was fine. We were given a friendly reception by the proprietor, and we enjoyed reasonably priced, unpretentious meals on both evenings. A plentiful, traditional breakfast was served.
Cons: On arrival, we had to unblock the sink in the bathroom. The lighting was dim, making it difficult to read. Not the hotel's fault, but parking is at a premium in Chartres. We could possibly have used the nearby underground car-park, at the hotel's expense, but chose not to risk it because of our vehicle's height. Luckily, we found a space just outside, but feeding the meter was not cheap.
6.7 Good
Pros: Excellent location, small and friendly hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent friendly staff. Lovely location right in the centre of Chartres old town. Great breakfast and evening meal also. Parking permit is given for parking.
Cons: Car park is a walk away but it is definately worth the short 3 minute walk.
6.8 Good
Pros: Quirky hotel but really good. Great central Chartres location. Great room. Excellent food, we had lunch, dinner & breakfast.
Cons: Parking is an issue but definitely worth the hassle for the location.
7.6 Good
Pros: Excellent staff and management.
Cons:
6.0 Good
Pros: Interesting decor, comfortable bed. Very close to cathedral
Cons: No tea/coffee facilities or glasses. No soap or shampoo.

7.5 Good

Pros: We were delayed en-route but the worry of arriving very late - approx. 23.30 - was allayed by the presence of 24 hr concierge.
Cons: I did like the presence of fresh orange juice at breakfast. This had been removed.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Reasonable
Cons: Ordered wine in a carafe. We found a foreign body floating on the top. Complained and cancelled. No apology from the staff at all. Ordered water 'twice' from different waiters. None arrived. We found also that we had been charged for this wine !!!. It was cancelled but again no apology. We also left a mains adapter in a socket. We contacted the hotel and was told we would have to pay nearly 13 Euros for it's return. They need to be educated on customer care.

Cons: Mattress much too hard. Shower dirty and leaking over floor. Menus a disgrace to French culinary art.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is very modern, calm and clean. Family room are perfect for few days. Both bathroom and shower - kids were happy. Breakfast very good (hot croissant / salty and sweety / good tea quality) and opening hours are very good for the morning... don't need to ruch before 10am. Late checking is free on sundays which is very good. Very near from Odyssée location.
Cons: 10 mn by car to Chartres downtown (in fact it is not a problem it is very quick).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stop off, comfortable beds, excellent healthy choices at restaurant, good size sofa bed
Cons: Definitely business hotel so breakfast very sparse , no plates etc after business guests had finished and we were there at 8.15. It was replenished but took a while. One poor very nice lady seemed to be doing it all . Nowhere decent to eat walking distance but restaurant really good
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff at the front desk were exceptional. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Parking was good, outdoor but gated covered by cctv and very secure. Excellent games area for families which was very clean.... little play kitchen, building blocks, computer games and a football table. Nice tea and coffee station brilliant if getting in the road early. Breakfast was good, although scrambled egg on the buffet station was tepid. Good selection available- cereal, yogurts, fruit, juices, cold meats, cheeses, breads, waffles, pastries, cakes and a hot selection. Room service also available. We had a family room and king room. Room was as described with double bed and sofa bed set up. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and slopped / tipped towards the head end.
Cons: Perhaps we are difficult to please when it comes to cleanliness. The sheets, bed and surfaces were very clean. There was however mildew evident in the shower and cobwebs in the hard to reach corners of the hotel room. Felt the quality of the room was below the 4 star rating.
6.7 Good
Pros: Receptionists were efficient, pleasant and helpful
Cons: The attitude of the waiter in the dining room in the evening. He was efficient but did not seem to have much pleasure in his job. Evening menu and food should have been far better. There could have been more expensive and better dishes on the menu to choose from. At breakfast, I had to ask for plates. When they came they were ICE cold, not very handy for warm eggs and bacon! I suggest plates AND bowls should be by the eggs and by the cheese, etc. Now there are no bowls by the fruit and no plates by the eggs and bread.
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely stopover on route to Calais, nice little pool to refresh in & friendly bar/outside seating area to relax before last leg of journey. Would recommend.

Pros: Very comfortable and well equipped room. Staff friendly and very helpful. We were made to feel very welcome with our dog. Restaurant was excellent and we very much enjoyed both evening meal and breakfast with extensive choice. Good parking We were so impressed we booked a second night on the return journey.
Cons: We needed more milk (not cream) to go with tea and didn’t like paper cups.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and we liked the idea of the toilet and shower room being separate. The quality of the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent and the staff were first class o
Cons: No complaints at all.

Our room was exactly as we had requested, on the top floor so extra quiet. Room was comfortable, warm and clean. Only negative observation was that the extractor fan in the shower room did not work. Did not take breakfast but it looked good value for money.

Pros: A typical budget hotel, well out on the outskirts (need a car). Plenty of free parking. Friendly staff, but varying English capabilities. Clean and comfortable with fairly small rooms and bathrooms. Had a lift and full restaurant.
Cons: Had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Had a very long wait (>45 mins) for mains, well after later arrivals. After querying the delay (very limited English), were informed that our dish took 20 minutes from ordering. We had not been informed. Poor restaurant service.

Pros: The central location was ideal and the room was good value

Cons: Breakfast very disappointed : eggs was poudre of eggs! Coffee had no taste ! Nothing was quality on breakfast for 16 euros!
4.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the architecture of the building snd the view feom my room.
Cons: The welcome was very negative. I called the hotel on my way many times to ask if there was a parking possibility but couldn’t get anybody to answer my phone. When at last I had an answer and I complained about that the gentleman at the reception was very disagreeable. His excuse was that he was alone so that he couldn’t answer. I can not take this as a reasonable answer from a receptionist. Then the computer didn’t work when checking my booking. All these things might have happened but it could have been handled with less attitude and with more kindness. And finally I found a used man’s underwear in my wardrobe which was forgotten by the previous guest.
10.0 Excellent
