this hotel is well-equipped and completely managed. none
The Staff were very helpfull. particulary the lady in the breakfast room. Major road works were being conducted we were not able to drive up to the hotel without difficulty. I would have expected that more details would have been availabel on the website, regarding arriving by car. We had a lot of luggage so were not able to walk from the street.
Fabulous location, staff extremely helpful, facilities very good.
The service we received and the room we were given were magnificent We enjoyed every aspect of our stay
Bien est central localize en Fontainebleau Too expensive petit dejeuner
Location, Staff and quiet rooms-superb value for money
Big comfortable room with complementary drinks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in the very center of the town: just few steps from the chateau, restaurants and parking It would be nice to have slippers or at least an extra floor towel for the toilet
Very helpful staff Great breakfast Great location Don't like the bedcovers -- too hot
Nice style "shabby chic", well situated, helpful staff Should give you a discount for parking?
There is a nice little bar and fireplace with self service bar. We all enjoyed sitting and chatting there. Very nice atmosphere. The hotel staff was very helpful and pleasent.
Ok for the price received by booking.com otherwhise too expensive for the comfort.Breakfast very poor....
A beautiful room. Dinner at the hotel restaurant gave me food poisoning.
The system with the local car park worked well. The room was shabby and not like the photographs on the website. The second bed made up for our daughter used a double sheet turned over, so it was uncomfortable for her. The air conditioner was so noisy we had to switch it off in the night. the bathroom needed a good make over, and the toilet was not clean.
the room was in the back, not in front of the street, so it was very calm
The location, the entrance hall and public rooms all were lovely. Cobwebs on ceiling above tv, stained carpeting around large area by the lift, chipped paint on the lift doors on our floor - shabby. Breakfast very expensive so did not have it there. Was told firmly that I was on a budget offer, which was embarassing. Bed very short for my tall husband.
the hotel building is lovely. The reception staff were very helpful. The location is excellent. we we unable to use the restaurant. The bar was not very user friendly. The whole hotel needs refurbishing.
Excellent staff to help guests. Please continue this.
Central. Breakfast ok. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room was cramped. Mark on sheets.
Its location Lack of hotel car parking. The rooms at the top of the hotel are certainly not in the "luxury" class.
The hotel is a wonderful historic building (Robert Louis Stevenson wrote here) with updated rooms and super baths/ Free Internet, flat screen TV, two excellent restaurants. The set dinner in the Bistrot is a bargain. Beautiful pool and yard. Sometimes the wireless was down.
The room had all the little extras and it was a charming place located in a charming town. The door to the room could have been a little more solid.
The very pleasant surroundings and comfort of the accommodation.
calm, great pool & garden. lovely village & surrounds
The room is equipped with jacuzzi, dvd player. Nice room but rather small, nice staffs. The food in the hotel restaurant is only fair, and the taste of overalls are too salty.
The staff were at pains to be of service. The hotel is very comfortable and the food excellent. Right in the middle of Barbizon, with Fontainebleau and Vaux le vicomte nearby, it was a perfect base for exploring these important monuments and the painters who lived in the village. The forest starts just a few yards from the hotel. As we were virtually the only guests, the buffet was not laid out for breakfast after the first day and we had a smaller selection of the delights that had been on offer the first day when there were more people in the hotel.
The small touches of luxury that made me feel special - such as a delivery of roses with a welcome note, chocolates on the pillow, weather forecasts for the next day and suggestions of things to do. Its also a very beautiful village and the hotel is right in the centre. The staff on reception were also really helpful on a number of different occasions going out of their way to help me out. The food in the restaurant was somewhat disappointing considering the expense - a bit over-complicated and fussy
staff are perfect, breakfeast is very good (big choice, fresh), view to chateau! nothing
good value, excellent meal, friendly service, great location.
Good location and pleasant room at a reasonable price. Good restaurant. Breakfast a bit expensive at 10 Euros. One light did not work in the bathroom.
The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing, I would definitely recommend eating there. The hotel is in a perfect location just across the street from the chateau and very close to the main street (cafes, shopping, bars). This is a great hotel if you are looking for an affordable no frills French hotel experience. The details on booking.com stated there was wifi through out the hotel, this is not the case. there is only wifi in the entry way (very small space) and the restaurant. And it was so slow connecting I had to go to a cafe and used their wifi.
the location is very close to the citry center the room was sometimes cold
Two friends and I were climbing in the local vacinity and used the hotel as a base for the weekend. Good location and facilities.
Good value, good facilities, free Wifi generally rather poor state of repair; slow checkout
Beautiful grounds and quiet location. Swimming pool was great. Breakfast was insufficient. Many items had rum out by the time we wanted to eat at 8:30am. Not enough staff to clean up after previous diners. No provision of extra towels for use at swimming pool.
Free WiFi It was a long way from the jazz festival Django Reinhardt so without a car we had to take overpriced Taxi to get there. The meal at the restaurant was not a good value (the demi-pigeon) - a joke.
helpful staff, good location,on site parking small room, small bathroom, small balcony (just large enough to stand on) With temp up to 41 deg, could not get aircon or fridge to function until last day of stay. Judging by our room alone,I think it was well over priced.
nice location, very quiet, large garden, good breakfast. apparently the hotel was being upgraded. let them keep up the good work! not really. the room could have been bigger, though
Hotels is just renewed, so it looks very nice and better than we expected. Personnel is very friendly Matras of the bed was a bit too hard
Nice hotel in a good location, nice grounds and a nice room at a good price. Hotel was under going renovation, would have been nice to be told though as we were just passing through for one night it didnt make much difference to our stay.
The pool and gardens
calmness, staff polite
It was quite and peaceful amd the food was great!
Quiet and clean, friendly staff everything was as advertised
Location perfect for visiting fontainebluau, secure on site car parking< on site restauraunt Comfortably the most sullen and rude staff I have encountered
Tea set was available, free WiFi, shower pressure was strong enough, bed was also large enough. Quiet location. Bathroom could have been cleaner but OK for this price
The rooms were clean and very comfortable. At the special price found on booking.com, this hotel was a perfect choice for a stop during our trip through the nearby beautiful villages and castles. The staff that welcomed us speaks little or no English, so if you have special requests (in our case it was two adjacent rooms with the third bed added) be sure to find a way to contact them to verify they understood them. However, the same staff was absolutely available to solve any problem on the spot.
Pleasant motel type hotel with nice breakfast. The room could be cleaner. Street noise most of the night through room door.
Family of 4 (with dog) looking for a stop over on the way to Normandy. Perfect place to stop for the night. Hotel has a restaurant and there are restaurants nearby. My French language skills are poor and the staff don't speak English, but that's part of the adventure. We paid EUR 90 for two rooms. Great value for a tired family needing a basic place to sleep.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, with a good breakfast and restaurant. Excellent value for money.
Visited a nearby Chateau. The location
I like the place where it is every thing was good
We stayed at the Melun Ibis as an overnight stopover so used the hotel as a bedroom only. I liked the fact that when we arrived very late at night the reception was manned and the car park was secure my only critisism was that there was no air conditioning or fans in the room which made for an uncomfotable night in the 30 degree heat
Location was great
no proper room service facility
Fast reservation process, realiable Mercure Hotel!
We loved being right in the heart of the city, able to walk easily to the castle. Not always enough meats and cheeses for breakfast.
The helpful and friendly reception staff. It delivered its promise. No restaurant available at weekend but reasonable pizzeria in walking distance.
I found this hotel basic but quite adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel owner is a very nice man, and the hotel offers good value for money. No specific dislikes
The male receptionist was very helpful and served us drinks even though the bar was not open. Good location and very good room apart from a folding en suite door which was a little "Heath Robinson. Breakfast was minimal and cost 7 Euros.
The helpfulness of the hotel staff Not enough pillows on the bed
Quiet. Comfortable bed. Decent continental breakfast. Clean. Though the hotel's immediate neighborhood is not in itself an attraction, Fontainebleau, Barbizon, Moret-sur-Loing, and other attractive areas are within a few minutes drive. No restaurant open on weekend. One modest restaurant in easy walking distance.
A little bit out of town, very quiet, not bad to find.
Not the rural farmhouse I was expecting. Convenient access to Paris but nothing to do in and around melun, use it as a stop over. Ok alternative to ibis etc. Location is very suburban surroundings are mainly blocks of flats
Convenience for Fontainebleau, reasonably easy to find and within walking distance of melun town centre Extremely disappointed that the restaurant was only open for one of the four nights of our stay and that it was not stated in advance on the website. The on site restaurant was the main reason for booking the hotel.
