My experience has not been good. I have been charged multiple times on my credit card and no explanation as to why I got an additional $565 charge on my credit card on top of another charge that was actually agreed upon.

Car was as advertised. Very clean and free of debris or concerns. Access tot he vehicle at both pick up and drop off was simple and clear. Check in was the only hurdle with inefficiencies in preparation and service.

Just listen to the representative when they tell you to get an automatic when renting on Madeira. I have driven a manual all my life and have when in other European countries. This island driving is like no other. It was 7 euros more a day. But worth it. Marc

I tried twice to change my pickup and drop off time on your system, but was unable to change it beyond the default 12:00. This might be an IT problem because I booked this on my mobile phone.
We got a car in a lower class without compensation. This car was very underpowered for the steep hills of madeira. This led to extremely uncomfortable and dangerous situations.
Great experience, except for the man that runs the check in and check out of the cars. He was unpleasant and not very helpful. Good customer service starts with a smile and a connection, not a frown and a terse word or two.

The prices listed for rental car’s were incorrect, upon arrival we were charged significantly more for a car for an automatic transmission even though we had selected one in our online reservation. The car we were given also had significant mechanical issues. Overall the experience was not just inconvenient it was dangerous! I would never consider booking another rental car this way.
I am currently taking this further with Qeeq who were the vendor behind Surprice, I cancelled the hire as it seems the time I selected to pick up was the exact time the rental desk - and out of hours phone number - closed. I was left stranded, and am now out of pocket. Qeeq have been okay at sorting this out but I feel I will be arguing with them for some time. Appreciate this is nothing to do with Kayak but worth sharing.

My flight was delayed, was 3 hours late for pick up. They told me it was too late and I could still have the car, but I would have to pay an additional $200 which is half again of the total pre paid. Told them forget it. Immediately call my credit card and stopped payment. Terrible experience and a scam. Stay away from Surprice.
