Cons: Unlike all the other rental companies, you have to take a bus Easirent. Returning the car is also a pain because there are no signs leading you to their location. Ironically, the car's GPS doesn't have Easirents location; we had to use our phone's map app. Obviously, you have to take a bus back to the airport to catch your plane or taxi, so it's just a hassle. The price ended up not being as cheap as advertised and if I would have know, I'd have gone with Hertz.

Poor customer service
Pros: The car was fine for a day in Scotland.
Cons: Car needed oil change, customer service at airport was good. We were not told about an extra charge for dropping the car off at the downtown location when we were told it would be fine to do so. Gentleman at desk (Liem) was not understanding and did not attempt to make it right for the customer. Very disappointed in this experience.

my car rental experience
Pros: The car size and relative roominess and vehicle performance.
Cons: The hard sell for additional insurance.
the fact that they did not have a basic city Map.
The car was empty of fuel and there was no easy direction of where one could purchase gas (Diesel) especially with no map.
I did not feel comfortable dealing with the sales/counter people, seemed unprofessional and not very concerned of my concerns such
as fuel level, map of area.
Also car had no users manual, which is OK except this was a diesel engine which shut off whenever there was a prolonged stop, at first I thought there was a problem with the vehicle, this could have been explained or could have been easy to determine if there was a manual in the vehicle.

Cons: Arrived at easiest with reservation and they immediately tried to upgrade/smooth talk me into a car with Substantially higher. I said no thank you and the lowest they had was still double original quote that I reserved. I walked away and rented from europecar via an Autoeurope booking.

Wrong car, poor condition, extra chargees
Pros: The staff were friendly and likeable. Pickup and drop-off were fairly easy and convenient to the airport.
Cons: I booked a luxury class car for 9 days in Scotland. Upon arrival, I was informed that no luxury class car was available, but for the same price, I'd be "upgraded" to a mini-van. Well, I didn't want or need a mini-van, but wasn't given any other option. I was told it was the only available automatic transmission car.
In addition, I had to pay a large fee that wasn't explained or made clear on the kayak site. It was 100.00 pounds, so about $130.00. I still don't know if that was a legitimate fee, but it was unexpected. Also the car rental company insisted I carry expensive insurance, or else take a deposit for the total value of the car, more than 27,000.00 pounds - obviously untenable. So a lot of hidden and expensive fees.
Lastly, the mini-van was in poor condition, with dents and damage. It was dirty, and had only half a tank of fuel. Additionally, the nav system was all but useless, forcing me to buy a phone to use for navigation.

Avoid At All Costs
Cons: Everything. Reserved a car months in advance. Nothing was available when I got to their office/shed. Their excuse was that they had three cars stranded in Inverness.
Pros: Check in and check out were quick. Car, while very small, drove very well
Cons: Added expenses more than doubled price. Could not refuse their insurance without a note from insurance company and, maybe, credit card company. Also had to leave large deposit on card

Impossible to locate!
Cons: It took us twenty minutes to find the Fox/Easirent drop off location. There was not ONE sign on the site for Easirent or Fox. You had to enter the long term parking lot to find them! We only found them because we stopped at the nearby Holiday Inn and asked the lady at registration.

I ended up canceling
Cons: The location for car rental was far off the airport grounds with no clear signage how to get there. It had a very back lot type feeling to it and the trailer where rental happened was full of agents trying to upsell. I spent an hour there before getting fed up and leaving.
Apparently, the insurance I purchased through Kayak didn't apply to this rental and I was going to be charged for additional insurance. The agent says this happens all the time and that I would have to go back to Kayak and ask for my money back.
Additionally, they had an insurance that didn't cover wheels and windshields which I found very odd.
The agent explained that they actually weren't Fox, Fox is another car aggregator much like Kayak. I didn't catch the name of their company, but I don't recommend them.
I got a bad feeling about the whole procedure and left. I do not recommend this company.

Pros: Good quality all around (car, cleanliness of car, upgrade on the spot, shuttle bus to airport)
Cons: The office was in a temporary barrack and that environment was a bit messy with no queueing and a general feeling of chaos. (but I was taken right good care of anyway)

Fraudsters trying to con you
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: The price quoted was 150$ and then on reaching location they charged 250$ and threatened to put 30000 British pounds (36000$) hold on my credit card for the full value of the car if I didn't pay the extra charges even when I already had my own rental car insurance. Inspite of the fact that this was a economy car worth 10000 British pounds and the car was not in new condition. Then after returning the car they didn't send me a final statement of charges after 5 calls.

I was quoted from kayak a price of $117 and before I left their office the amount changed to $261 they stated they could not honor the quoted price from Kayak.... This location is not at the airport but offsite so I did not have another choice of car rental options
Plus they wanted a $1200 deposit even though I bought extra Insurance from kayak
In my 30 years of traveling with most unpleasant car rental experience I've ever had

Fox Car Rental (Edinburgh): You get what you paid
Pros: The car was clean and fuel efficient. Having rented from Fox in the past (in Arizona, USA) and had a very good experience, I was looking forward to another. The price was excellent, compared to what I've seen in the Edinburgh market. But not crazy low, where you would think something was wrong.
Cons: Off-site car pick-up was inconvenient but not horrible. Where the major heartache began was when I arrived to get my car. You do not have a choice in purchasing full insurance, unless you can provide written proof that you have coverage elsewhere -- like through your credit card, like most of the civilized world. (My credit card company emailed me a letter that they accepted.) Next: you do not have a choice to bring the car back with the tank full of fuel. They charge you for 35 GBP of fuel (and I trust that was the amount in the tank -- it was NOT full) and tell you to bring it back empty. (Who feels comfortable driving a car down to an empty tank of gas? And isn't it bad for the car to constantly let the tank run dry?) And lastly -- because I don't want to spend any more time, not because there were no other issues -- the inspection of the car before I left. The agent looks for the slightest scratch or scrape, even on the hubcaps. When I asked if there's such a thing as "normal wear and tear," the answer: yes, and we have the renter pay to repair what was done to the car. I've never had such an experience. And I would not take a car from Fox in Edinburgh if they gave it to me for free; the fine print makes it unpalatable.

Misleading pricing and no working phone number for
Pros: The car was nice. The people checking us out did their best to be helpful.
Cons: Fox doesn't have any cars. They are a reservation service that does nothing but complicate things. The price on kayak was listed in $. When we got there the agency said it was in pounds. The phone number provided does not work so we couldn't get through to let them know we were running late. When we were got there we were charged for a higher class of vehicle because our vehicle had been given out. There was also horrible traffic by the airport. I wish we rented from a name brand company in the city. Last I heard we were also still waiting on the return of a significant insurance deposit.

Fox worked with a 3rd party and they didn't have o
Pros: The price seemed good when I booked.
Cons: We missed our connecting flight when flying to Edinburgh so to be courteous we reached out to Fox to let them know that we would be arriving at 11 pm instead of 7 pm.
When we arrived the attendant said that he could see that our reservation for 7 pm had been deleted and the reservation for 11 pm hadn't showed up in his system. He acknowledged the confirmation email when we showed it to him but said that he could not give us a car because he couldn't access the order in his system. We were forced to take a 30 pound cab ride to our hotel and went with a different rental car company the next day.
Emails sent to the customer service address received prompt responses while updating our timeline, but they completely stopped responding when we asked for a refund on our order.
We will never consider using Fox in the future.
