We wanted a vehicle which was smaller and only for a couple of days. We have access to a copy of our vehicle insurance through an on line app. If you don’t bring a copy that verifies a rental car will be covered through your insurance. If you don’t have proof of tha5 you will have to pay for extra insurance.

Check your own car insurance policy. In my case my TD policy has a Grand Touring package which insured all members of my family and covers any vehicle c damage up to $100,000. Don't be a sucker and fam for the cdw fees or the additional driver fees. We Canadians already pay way too much for insurance so we might as well use its benefits!!!

In the winter months if you’re leaving the city to go on a highway, check to see if they have winter tires on the vehicle. Most highways require it by law in BC. Could make for tough sledding if it snows driving through the mountains if the vehicle does not have them on.

When refueling it is necessary to pay first at the bowser. Check the bowser as there are usually 2 pumps - one will only fill with premium fuel (red pump) whilst the other (green or black) will give you a choice. This can be a costly exercise if youre not aware as there is a considerable price difference in the fuel types.

Can't stress enough how Canadian law prioritizes pedestrians over motorists. Pedestrians pay strict attention to lights, but when they are allowed to cross, they pay no attention to cars, never glancing to see if a car is waiting to turn. Also, yellow means STOP, not speed up[ to make the light.

We waited over 2.5 hours to receive our rental. Management provided wait times that were not accurate: first we were told one hour, then 1.5 hours, the 2 hours ect. It was finally 2 hours 45 mins later that we received the rental. We were also told that they were extremely understaffed and dealing with operational problems. We have two young kids under the age of 5 so you can imagine how upsetting this was not to mention how it created an unpleasant start to our vacation. To pay a premium for a rental, I expect better service and lower wait times.

I was trying to change my reservation due to the snow tire things. The policy of BC is every car should put the snowtire on the vehicle from Oct. 1 but I didn't know that. When I returned the car, I was given a receipt which showed that I owed CAD 477.99 From looking at the charges, it states that I had a prepayment voucher for CAD 1496.25 This was never discussed with me - in fact the rental agreement has this amount of 477.99 scribbled out by the AVIS service person So I was indeed surprised to find that on returning the car, I was charged this amount. I could submit the rental agreement form with the alteration (if required) Kevin Walsh

When we arrived the car ready for us was a 5-passenger, not a 7 as we had reserved. After some discussion, an 8-passenger car was made available at the agreed-upon rate, but we had to wait 30 minutes while it was prepared. That car was still not really clean, especially the inside of the windshield. The tires were also way over-inflated. It proved to be a good vehicle over the two weeks we had it. The staff at the location were courteous and freindly, if a little disorganized.
Nice rental vehicle, good value, friendly customer service experience. I would definitely rent from this family run rental car company when in Vancouver, BC, Canada.🇨🇦
Very easy and efficient. We landed, picked up our bags then called and they came to pick us up right away. Just a few minutes away from the airport stopped in to sign the paper work and we were on our way. Drop off same thing, very easy. I wouldn't say it was fantastic, hate it when they try to sell you extra insurance. When you already have it. Ordered a wildcard for 2 large cases they said I didn't. Hidden costs I proberly got charged for that I don't know of.
I liked the fact that they gave me a free upgrade to the vehicle I requested. However, there was very little communication or indication that the pick-up location would be closed at 5pm and there was no after hour pick-up number or anything. I came a half hour later and then had to book another hotel with my son and come back the next morning to pick up the car. When I asked if my drop off location was directly at the airport they said yes. However the day of my drop off I checked the address in my itinerary and it is NOT at the airport. Very annoying!

The price was great. Service to and from the airport was good. This business is the same rental agency that does not have very good reviews. They have done a rebrand and now go by a different name. The car was reasonably clean but smelled inside. There were many scratches on the outside of the vehicle and 3 out of the 4 hubcaps were scratched. If you like the price rent from this agency but document the damage very closely. As mentioned the price point is very good but I feel their advertising is deceptive.
They didn’t have a car for me even though I prepaid for it. I still have not received a refund for the prepayment. I had to ren a car at the last minute from another (reputable firm) but the last minute rental was much more costly. Mt rental from ADDCAR RENTAL was a SCAM!!

Worst experience I’ve EVER had with a rental car. Despite talking to them before I even left my departure airport, when I arrived in YVR and called them for a shuttle to get the car, they told me they didn’t have my reservation.
