The rental location was closed when I arrived. It is my fault for being an hour late (delayed flight), but they didn't let me know about their 12 PM location close time when I confirmed my reservation with them a few days earlier.

Staff friendly, but incompetent. Lots of opportunity for training here.1) Have the vehicle ready for pickup at the appropriate time. Ours was dirty, and had less than 1/4 tank of gas. 2) Improve team communication. We reserved an SUV because we were 5 traveling together, and I communicated this to the Enterprise staff twice. They still got it wrong. I told them early on the morning of our rental when I called (per their request) to confirm the rental. I told them again when we called for pickup at 3:45 pm. They showed up in a sedan that held 4 (including their driver), so half of our party had to wait at the train station for another pickup. 3) VERY long delay at pickup due to issues #1 and #2. They offered to put gas in the car, and we agreed, thinking that the amount of gas in the car at that time wouldn't even get us out of town. But their gas run took 40+ minutes. Did they go all the way to the airport for it? As a result, instead of slipping out of town before rush hour, we had to drive into the heart of it. They should have warned us of the distance they had to travel for the gas, and the amount of time it would take. 4) No ice scraper in a vehicle, in the winter, in New England. Had to ask for that too.

TerribleNothingWe ordered online. Got the confirmation and then once we were in the Uber on the way to the pick up, Enterprise called to tell us they had no cars available. No care and out $25 for the Uber ride. I’ll never rent from Enterprise.

Reservation NightmareBooked a res at store near me agent said it was for another location, but was 2nd time that week it happened. Short on time we tried a different location, after confirming this other location had cars avail she transferred my res and I drove 30 mins out of my way. Sat in traffic got to other location only to find they had NO rentals avail. I booked this res a week prior. Store mgr said he'd find me a car, offered an upgrade (reserved full size). I was given a compact sport suv. This was, after sitting in their store for another 30 mins. Then after returning the car I was charged $44.00 more for returning 2 hours late due to traffic (I called ahead).

I had the rental for a week and had to put air in the right front tire every other day and to top that off the engine light, oil change as well low tire light were ALWAYS on. Never again from this company!

Pick up the car and it was dirty i have to wash it and clean it myself and the worst part is I returned the car 3 days early and returned $2.43 cents to my card. Thank you Budget you are the worst rental cars i’ve ever imagined.

Providence office was a little unorganizedWe got a great car but it wasn't completely clean. The car worked great for our trip - held tons of stuff/luggage/people so it was perfect. Ran well and got us from point A to point B!The Providence office on Eddy was disorganized and understaffed but they were nice/helpful despite the long wait.

Went 3 times, next cars availableNothingWent to the rental store 3 times (starting with the reserved time) and each time they didn’t have the car and said “it was on the way”. I waited 45 minutes each the first two times and gave up on the third. They also had no internet or phone service so their computers were down and the staff were using their personal cell phones to make reservations and call their suppliers.

The guys at the Post Rd Branch went out of their way to ensure I was able to secure the commercial van I needed on Friday evening using the Airport Hertz location for processing. The Van could not be parked in the garage at the airport due to size and my flight was arriving after the street stores hours. The manager at the airport terminal also gave me a ride down the street to pick up the van. Kudos to the Hertz teams in Warwick / PVD.

The staff was very helpful and cordial. My car was available on time. I promptly received the receipt after I dropped off the car the night before.I received the car basically on empty (from a gas standpoint). When I went to drop off the car, the place had closed early, and though there were instructions to "leave it in an open spot," there were no open spots and the cars were all piled on each other.

Friendly, but absolutely ridiculous that one person is supposed to run the entire branch office, up to and including cleaning the cars. Worst - THERE WERE NO CARS AVAILABLE, even though at 10:30 a.m. there were three people sitting there with 9am reservations.Hertz could have had CARS AVAILABLE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO RESERVED THEM and prepaid, instead of making us wait for 1 1/2 to 2 hours for a car. I'm never using Hertz again.

I went to pick up the car and was told that I needed a major credit card. I didn’t have one and they said I would need to leave a deposit (which was fine) and they would run my credit. My credit score wasn’t good enough apparently and that was basically the end of the transaction. Stranded.

Staff was slightly apologetic about not having my requested vehicle.I showed up on the day of pickup, and they didn't have my car?! All they had was mini-vans, when I had reserved a compact/mid-size. I ended up having to get a last minute rental from another company.

AVIS OWES ME MONEYI returned the car one full day earlier than expected and I was still charged for the full three days (even though I had only had the car rented for two). I was told I'd get a call about my refund and, to date, haven't heard from Avis -- despite calling them countless times. Never again.

Inconvenient and UnclearThe car itself was fine, although the back seat needed cleaning. And it was ready at the arranged time.The agency did not provide any kind of map, and this was the first time I've experienced that in many years with many car rentals from other companies. The local person was not familiar with local roads to help me get started on the trip. He was not as helpful or polite as I'd expect. Another issue is that I was headed to Massachusetts and planned to take the toll road, and the agent in Rhode Island did not know - or at least did not tell me - of the major change in toll collection there. Since it is not possible to pay cash on I 90, I will be receiving a bill for those tolls, plus additions from Avis and possibly fines. When I dropped the car off in Chicago, the office desk had handouts explaining their e-toll fees. But nothing of the sort was offered in RI where it would have actually helped. I will not rent from Avis again, or Budget, which seems to have merged with it.

That the place I went to was able to accommodate me with a standard car. When I returned the car to the airport the lady at the desk was able to help me with my issues at no extra charge.When I arrived I was told that my rental was downtown and so took an hour long bus ride there. When the office opened I was told that my reservation had been cancelled and that they did not have the vehicle type (SUV) that I had rented. The person accommodated me, but then called me on the final day and was telling me if I didn't get the car back I would be charged extra. He then told me he was not going to be able to honor me returning the vehicle to airport as I was originally told I could.

Scott, the man at the desk, overcharged me and when I pointed out that it was a 2 day rental, not 3, he absolutely refused to fix the problem. He was horrible, very rude, making me wrong. I had my service dog with me & he yelled at me about her. The man should not be around customers.
