Pros: This vintage motel was big & roomy. I'm not sure if it has always been this well-maintained, or if it was restored during a renovation... It looks "old" but it feels / smells / seems new. It was like being in a time warp, except the beds and water pressure were better, there was a fridge, and we couldn't hear the neighbors! The owners were on-site, helpful, and friendly. My husband and I are 60s and 70s kids, so we thought it was fabulous!
Cons: Honestly, there is nothing I did not like about this place. We're DEFINITELY staying here again on our next trip north; I'm not even shopping around!
Pros: The rooms were quite clean.
Cons: I get that lodging in Mackinaw City is hard to come by on summer weekends, but this was way too expensive for what we got. The hotel wi-fi was nonfunctional, presumably because our room was too far from the single router in the office. If I ever stay in Mackinaw City again, I'll be sure to make reservations farther ahead of time.
When visiting Mackinaw City, Vindel Motel is a great choice to consider. Guests can enjoy the seasonal outdoor pool, and hiking/biking trails and snowmobiling are nearby. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: The person at the front desk was so incredible logic and give us great tips and info for things to do in the UP.
Cons: Nothing big. I'm a tall guy and the small shower was a little tricky but otherwise perfect for our needs
Enjoy your visit to Mackinaw City with a stay at Riviera Motel. Guests can hang out at the outdoor pool or seasonal outdoor pool, and freebies like WiFi, self parking, and wired Internet are added perks.
Pros: The location was great. All of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and pleasant. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean.
Cons: The breakfast was a little limited in number of choices and quality. It was not bad, just not great.
Pros: It was super easy to get to, right off the highway. It's super close to everything.
Cons: We had wished that the hotel staff would have let us know that there was a very large senior tour during our stay. Only because the morning ended up being so crammed full of people trying to get breakfast and people waiting for the bus to load all of their luggage. We could have rearrangedone our schedule to try and avoid the mess.
Pros: Baymont inn was great from when you pull up till the time you leave. The staff was very friendly and hotel location was good within walking distance to all the shops and reasterants. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We definitely would stay at Baymont again.
Pros: The person at the desk was over the top helpful with attractions and getting around town. Manager was hands on, and everyone paid attention to every detail. Place was excellent in every way as noted above.

The theme designed rooms were appealing. The grounds were nicely kept. The location was great.
Pros: Charm and pleasant staff.
Pulling up to the hotel, I was happy with the uniqueness of curb appeal. I was anticipating this outstanding small hotel, with small yet outstanding rooms. My overall thoughts were mixed. My husband have stayed in many hotels over the years and this fits in the 2 star category. Yes the hotel was unique, Yes it has beautiful ground, Yes the staff is very eager to assist you and Yes you are in walking distance to all the surrounding functions with ease. For those reasons alone, I recommend this hotel. The size of the rooms were adequate even the small bathroom was fine, how often do you spend your time in there. In order to get a decent room, you will need to get a themed room, as they pay more attention to those rooms. I give them an A for effort on the idea of the theme, but it really isn't needed. My room needed a sun blocking shade, the wooden blinds allowed light in and I wanted to sleep in. The smell of moth balls or old wood didn't seem present in the theme room as it did in another room we were offered. The bed was the old 60's box mattress and in the themed room they added a pad which allowed it to be more bearable, but even the themed rooms bed was hard enough to notice. The staff was really working to go out of their way to satisfy you and I do appreciate that excellent customer service, however, there are many hotels in the area I think that the bed comfort and smell of the room will have to be the deciding factor for my next stay in Mackinac City. For this reason, I will be leery about using priceline or any other online booking as you really don't know what you are getting and if you get there, and you don't like it (due to smell or anything) you have policies that prevent you from getting out of the deal. Which I feel that we rely on the reviews to give us good communication about the place once you arrive and things are not what they should be, priceline should adapt a policy that protects the consumer not the business.
Pros: I liked the location. Yes the grounds were nice and cared for. The owners were very nice and family oriented. I love supporting small business instead of cooperate business. I really liked the seating provided on the grounds. No other hotel offered it.
Cons: The room smelled like moth balls or old, old wood. It was overwhelming and unacceptable due to the price of the room and the area competition. The grounds were nice however the pool looked dirty, needs repainted or something.
When visiting Mackinaw City, American Boutique Inn - Lakeview is a great choice to consider. Guests can hang out at the outdoor pool or seasonal outdoor pool, and free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking.
Pros: Clean. Nice room. Accommodating staff. Everything worked smoothly.

When visiting Mackinaw City, Rainbow Motel is a great choice to consider. Guests can take a dip in the indoor pool, and freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks. All rooms feature flat-screen TVs and refrigerators.
Pros: The location was convenient for taking the ferry over to the island. Nice view off balcony.
Cons: This hotel was somewhere I would expect to pay $50 a night. Outdated color schemes, dark and gloomy rooms. There was a bra inside of the fold out couch which tells me no one had changed the linens in it. The breakfast in the morning was not very appealing inside a room with no windows. The pool and spa area looked like a basement- the water was gross looking. Call me crazy, but for $250 a night, I expect a very nice hotel! I would not recommend staying here.
Pros: The view from the room was the only good thing.
Cons: The staff was incredibly rude. Couldn't connect to the wifi from my room and when I brought it up with the staff, they became defensive and arrogant. They didn't bother listening to my concerns. They also weren't helpful when I asked them about ferry times to Mackinaw Island. They rudely told me that they didn't know and that I should look it up myself.
The breakfast was awful, not much to offer and had stale low-quality food. They also didn't have enough food for the guests.
The rooms could have been cleaner. Found stains on the sheets and towels. Not all of the lights worked.
Overall, a terrible experience and won't be staying here again.
Pros: Loved how spacious the room was! The view was beautiful...right on the water, with the Mighty Mac as the backdrop! Great location...plenty to do around the hotel, as well as on the Island. We will definitely come back!!
When visiting Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Beach & Bay Inn & Suites is a great choice to consider. For a workout, you can visit the fitness center or go for a morning swim at the indoor pool. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with balconies or patios and flat-screen TVs.
Pros: Staff were friendly, rooms spacious and comfortable and breakfast was very good.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: Impressed by the size of the room for the price we paid. We were not in the room much - only to sleep. We had a lakeview room that had an awesome sunrise the following morning. The room was clean and the heat worked great. We were freezing from being @ the island most of the day in 32 degree weather and when we got back to the room it was super warm and the beds were comfortable. Good selection of TV channels and a decent free breakfast the next morning. Great location to everything. Would recommend.
Pros: What we liked best was the way the rooms are set up. There is an open suite with a private room on each side. The rooms are lovely, nice linens, towels, pillows, and comfortable beds. We were traveling with my brothers and their wives, whom we haven't seen in a long time. It made it easy for us to spend time together. Plus, the location was central enough for us to walk to restaurants and local stores. I would happily return to this motel/hotel in the future.
Pros: Large room, very clean and close to shopping and dining. Breakfast choices were plentiful.
Pros: I liked the area, rooms were good too, very nice front desk staff. The beach had nice chairs and was clean. Hotel was quiet too.
Cons: The outdoor concourse was not clean, the drainage pipe on the beach was definitely an eye sore, pool hours are not very good as it needs to be open much earlier than 11am.
Pros: Great staff, comfortable beds, beautiful location, good value. Very clean and up to date. This is my second summer vacation here and I plan to continue to come back.
Cons: My screen door was broken, which wouldn't be a big deal, but northern Michigan has SO MANY BUGS!!!
Pros: Room was clean and in good repair. Bfast buffet was very nice. Front desk manager very nice and helpful. Hotel location central to most everything in Mackinaw City. We got a good deal on the internet. Overall facility looked clean and in good repair.
Cons: A good deal on the internet meant a poor view out of our room--we looked out half to part of the parking lot (which always-every day- had laundry and carts and other maintenance items and half to the opposite side of the hallway. A good deal also meant lots of foot traffic by our door at all hours. Our mattress was very worn and needed to be turned or flipped or something. When we arrived, we encountered women from Haiti working at the front desk and they were still on the learning curve w/regard to checking people in. We were not given all the info we needed. Our key cards lost their programming to unlock our door twice during our three-night stay (annoying!).
Pros: We stay at this Best Western every year. We like the location and the breakfast buffet is great. the staff is always very friendly.
Cons: Even though I had paid for the room when I booked it, I was charged again when I arrived. However, everything was straightened out when I left.
Pros: Great location.
Cons: disappointed to find out it would have been $30 (approximately) cheaper if I booked direct with the Hotel
Cons: I had no stay at the Best Western! It was closed when I arrived at the INN about 6:30 PM. They were closed. A note on the door said to go to a different Inn. I did and paid a higher rate. KAYAK or BEST WESTERN I do not know but GOOE on you and Best Western!!
A PHONE CALL TO LET ME KNOW WOULD KEPT ME FROM BEING SO PISSED.
Pros: Easy In and Easy out. The price was about right for the facilities. Check in was fast. Breakfast was great. Beds were pillow tops and comfortable.
Cons: I have mobility problems and the elevator was a one end of the complex and our rooms were at the far end away from the elevator.
There were ramps but I still had to walk too great a distance. I would not stay here again even if on the ground floor because I would have to go upstairs for breakfast with no direct elevator.

Pros: The proximity to downtown and the ferry was great. Was able to walk everywhere.
Cons: The beds, the pool, the showers, the breakfast, the price per night.
Pros: Didn't have to drive anywhere, nice hotel very convenient. Clean and friendly staff
Pros: This place was really great. It was the closest hotel to the Sheplers dock. The gentleman at the front desk allowed us to check-in early and check out late. I would absolutely stay here again.
A great choice for a stay in Mackinaw City, Court Plaza Inn & Suites features an airport shuttle and a rooftop terrace. You can get a morning swim in at the indoor pool, and the spa tub makes for a relaxing end to the day.
Pros: We enjoyed stay and will recommend hotei to our friends.
Pros: While not in the heart of town, it was reasonably close- especially to the Star Line docks. The room was clean, the beds comfortable. The indoor pool was well maintained. A hot breakfast was included every morning.
Cons: The room was a little small. The distance from the central part of town was a little awkward- a bit far to walk, too close to justify driving. Nothing major, however.
Pros: Good value!
Cons: The location is at the end of the boardwalk. Not on beach where some of the website suggested
Pros: Loved the location - off the main strip so it was quieter. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were all very friendly.
Cons: The water temperature in the shower kept fluctuating making for an interesting experience!
Pros: I liked the price
Cons: All the things that were broken in my room. My window couldn't be locked. The sheet had a stain on it. The plugs were broke and the water temp fluctuates wildly. Extreme hot and cold. If your looking for a cheep place to stay this is it but you definitely get what you pay for
Cons: To start the remote didn't work. They have a pool but no hot tub. Then to end our fifteen minute stay, the bed linen had softball size stains all over the bed. Obvious from the naked eye and being dark in the room. Front desk made me call hotels.Com to get my money back which happened then we went to a different hotel. So disgusting.
Enjoy your visit to Mackinaw City with a stay at Thunderbird Inn. Guests can enjoy the indoor pool, and hiking/biking trails, parasailing, and cross-country skiing are nearby. Pillowtop beds, refrigerators, and free WiFi are offered in all rooms.
Pros: What's not to like, open your door or blinds and BAMM ! The Big Mac is staring right in your face ! WHAT AN AWESOME VIEW !!!
Cons: It would have been nice to have a Refrigerator ! and some updated Mattresses , woke up with sore backs :-(
Pros: easy to get to
Cons: rather pricey
A great choice for a stay in Mackinaw City, Parkside Inn Bridgeview features an airport shuttle. The indoor pool is a great spot for a morning swim, and guests can get a workout in at the fitness center. Other highlights include a spa tub, and rooms offer balconies and LCD TVs.
Pros: The lakeside location was great. Our view of sunrise over Lake Huron was wonderful.
Pros: View from balcony.
Cons: Only way to access an elevator was in motel next door - very unhandy. Used steps instead.
Cons: The only access to the beach is also the spot where you eat breakfast, too small. need to take one of the rooms adjoining this area and open it up , would also give you a bathroom for beach users. Ground level balconies should have beach access .
Pros: Room was very clean, beds were comfortable, and the hotel is in a great location. Staff was friendly. Tiny but cute breakfast area, and you can sit outside right on the beach, which is beautiful! Breakfast is also offered at the Hamilton next door.
Cons: The room is a bit dark and the staircase outside looked like not taken care of very well.
Pros: Up to date, clean, great location.
Cons: Charged my credit card even though I paid in cash. Had to limit spending because money was held up for 4 days.
Pros: The hotel was in a great location with many shops within walking distance. It was also right on Lake Huron with a small beach.
Pros: The friendliness and was treated with respect. 😊
Cons: Everything was great. I can't wait to go again. 😊
Pros: The staff that we had contact with was very nice and accommodating.
Cons: The breakfast area is too small for a hotel this size. The tables outside were not very clean. The toilet seat almost fell off when put down. We have stayed in Comfort Inns that were excellent, but this one is not!
Pros: The price was great! and the hotel was clean & much better than i had expected for the price :)
Pros: close to the boarding dock.
Cons: No means to get a large suitcase upstairs. Breakfast was served to late for us to eat.

Cons: When we arrived we were informed that there was no room for us. My relatives still had a suite, but no room for us. They said they had tried to call us that morning, like it was our fault. We were moved down the road to another hotel which was nice, but away from family. Very disappointing.

Pros: After getting a not so clean room they did put us up in a lager room by the beach.
Cons: The bathroom was not clean....at all. Nasty
Pros: On the water room.
Cons: Furnishings were worn. Paid for balcony but could not sit and see the water view as solid wall was too high! Waste of money. Would be better if on an upper floor.
Cons: Room was too crowded, door was difficult to close and open, frig control was broken, tv remote didn't work
Pros: I really enjoyed the location of my room. This time I had ground floor facing the parking lot. It doesn't sound like a winner, but I really enjoyed it. I was able to park RIGHT outside my door. This made it VERY easy for loading and unloading. No long hallways or stairs to climb this time. It was awesome. Also - Pretty good free breakfast.
Cons: The room at first looks was decent. However, when you lay down you notice dust on the bed post and a floor that appears to vacuumed. There was a lot of slight dirtiness to the room. I even found the previous guest glasses and a bottle cap on the floor along with a couple spider webs and spiders. Since this is my only concern, I'd consider it a pretty good stay and I will be returning.
Pros: it was good for what it cost. close to everything in Mac city

Pros: Very clean, great location. Pool and hot tub area was maintained well. Breakfast was pretty average, but the host was friendly and kept everything in stock. Fire pits on the beach were a great touch and the view is fantastic.
Cons: Room was small- it had everything we needed, it just felt a little cramped.
Enjoy your visit to Mackinaw City with a stay at Clearwater Lakeshore Motel. Guests can take a dip in the indoor pool, and the spa tub makes for a relaxing end to the day. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Cons: Bed was hard as a rock, pillows were tiny and flat, bathroom smelled, shower has a hole in the tub.
Pros: The pool was nice and warm. Neat log cabin theme.
Cons: Our room was right between the pool and laundry facility. Both open until 10pm. Not great if you have young kids that you need to get to sleep.
Faucet handle in tub was near falling off. Took about 10 minutes to get it to work right.
The continental breakfast looked like they had the same food out all week.
Cons: The bridge view/lake view was obstructed by the trees and hotel across the street. The "view" was the top of the bridge.
Pros: Terrific room, very attractive, clean, comfortable beds, nice air from the windows, loved the ceiling fan; professional, kind and helpful staff; low-stress mid-week stay with private time in the whirlpool (yay!); super location; kick-ass continental breakfast and staff; able to check my business on-line; thinking seriously about booking with you again! Thank you, Super 8 and staff. My mom and I had a great stay!
Cons: Only one thing: We stayed for three days, two nights; and, in that time, saw a tissue on the floor next to a door on our floor that NEVER GOT PICKED UP! Come on, people. I noticed it. How could you NOT have noticed it ??
Pros: Close to highway and attractions
Cons: Older motel, felt and smelled like it needed updating. Kind of beat up, the entryways were dirty with cobwebs and bugs around. Room was just ok and didn't feel clean. Just old and overpriced for sure. Ok for a quick overnight stay but couldn't wait to move on.
Pros: Saved $75 a night. Kingsize bed with a jacuzzi in the room! I was shocked for what I got with the money I paid.
Pros: Balcony is nice and mostly private. Room was clean. Beds were okay. The room next to us had a baby who screamed all night, but that's not the fault of the hotel, just know that if you're a light sleeper and the people next to you are loud, you will hear everything.
Cons: Breakfast is below average. The fruit looked old. Have a bagel or a waffle and go to Pancake Chef downtown. This place isn't bad, but like everything else in this area, way overpriced for what you get.
Pros: Furniture was stylish and rustic, perfect for the location. Continental breakfast was as expected, decent selection of quick eats.
Cons: Staff had to be distracted away from magazine in order to check in (acted annoyed with our presence). Then as a second employee argued with first employee during our check-in we were completely ignored. Finally got room assignment and was placed directly next to open lobby area. Asked politely if they had a quieter room available and without looking up from the desk, we were told "we're full". We responded with "oh, you don't have any other rooms available?" And after an exaggerated sigh, told again "we're full". Very rude.
Pros: They upgraded our room to a mini suite. The grandkids loved staying in a motel

Pros: Excellent location, across the road from the water close the Mackinaw Island Ferry's, 200 yards from main stretch, price was very good using online booking during weekday.
Cons: Rooms are a little older and dated. But for the $, still a good value.
Pros: Convenient location.
Cons: The front desk personnel was very rude. They also never bothered to upload our reservations so we did not get the rooms we were supposed to get. The rooms were not kept up like they should be. There were no towels so we had to wait a half hour for someone to bring some.
Cons: Room was very dirty, toilet didn't work and tv was broken. Pretty sure they didn't even clean the room. staff was not very friendly.
Pros: The lady at the front desk was helpful because she gave me a different room per request.
Cons: Initially upon arriving we were given a room that was outdated to an extreme. Should have known by the scaffolding outside. I requested a room change after walking into the blue (yes blue tub toliet and all) bathroom and seen atleast 50 spiders on the ceiling. Second room was better no spiders. But to shower was horrid. Shower head low. No continental breakfast unless u wanted to wait 50-60 min. Ended up eating out for breakfast. Found out 5 hotels use the same continental breakfast area. The pictures are of the cabins not the motel in back so don't be fooled. What I paid I expected more. Had to look up where breakfast was in book in hotel room. Wasn't told. Very dissatisfied. Indoor pool was at other hotel. This hotel had outdoor pool. Gross hottub outside. Cold showers. Would not recommend to anyone. Stayed in many hotels in mackinac city. This is by far the worst.
