Quality and cleanliness of room Checkout is a bit fraught
The staff were extremly helpful and friendly, always on hand and polite. Also I ws a great location. Slightly disappointed with the inside of the hotel. I have always wanted to stay there as it is the premier hotel in cheltenham but found the interior very old and seriously in need of redecoration.
Old style hotel, good bar and perfect meeting place for Cheltenham race week, walk to points of interest in town. very noisy at night and the whole place is tired. For racing only.
The friendliness of the staff.
Extremely pleased! Everyone was so helpful and kind! Room was very nice and cleaned well every day. Room service perfect along with huge food selection in restaurant. It really couldn't have been any better! Not one single thing! Someone mentioned a new owner within the past week I was there but I did not see any problems with that and the service at all. I would stay here always. Wish all were this great and perfect!
Atmosphere and breakfast in conservatory! More information about what and where things in Cheltenham were- in file in room!
Central location. Bed very comfortable. Problems getting any food after 2 p.m. particularly Sunday (day we arrived) No lunch! No bar snacks/sandwiches! Also apart from the dining room you cannot get a light meal in the evening. Also our request for room overlooking the Park was ignored
Location. Room was comfortable and clean. Noise from the street outside. Despite the windows being shut, we had two nights disturbed sleep from the traffic and noisy passers by.
the staff were lovely, the room was very clean
To be honest, there was not a thing I liked about the Hotel. The Hotel appeared very drab and shabby. After ordering a very expensively priced cocktail costing £8.00 at the Hotel bar, I was told if I wanted peanuts it would be another £3.00 please.
Convenient position Cleanliness Good breakfast I was lucky with the car parking but others were not. More clarity on the limited parking would be more honest
All very clean and functuional Nothing
Very well located to the High street. I found it easy to reach the venue of the conference I had to attend. No complaints.
Location Noisy Corridors
Value for money, cleanliness, location Hated the sliding glass door to bathroom - my daughter has restriced sight and it was not easy for her to use
My room was a suite and was very nice and clean. A bit to expensive
central situation prefer english to contl. breakfast
We enjoyed our brief stay, The location was quiet for a city centre, Great. The room felt as though we were the first guests, spotless & well appointed, with everything we required. Breakfast although stated as continental was substantial & well presented. In all much more than we expected. Many thanks Dave Gittus M.B.E.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy as was the rooms.
Beautiful rooms, beautiful hotel, great location close to shops and places to eat/drink. Breakfast took over an hour the first morning as they are cooked in the order that guests arrive in the dining room and we all arrived at once!
Excellent for friendly staff. Accomodation was small but adequate. Modern but in keeping with the surroundings None
Clean, very comfortable bed, great power shower, great breakfast, friendly reception, good location. Room was cold when we arrived, flex too short on kettle, had to ask for towels.
Location, welcome, decor, presentation, comfort, facilities My husband is tall. If we had known in advance about the sloping eaves we might have upgraded the room
Beautiful decoration of the rooms in true victorian style but which were comfortable and relaxing to be in.
location & breakfast. the room had sloping ceilings, which was arkward because im so tall.
Excellent decor, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean, comfortable, well- maintained and stylish. Lots of nice touches (papers available to read at breakfast, massive vases of lillies in the sitting room etc.) Good position in town. None
Very clean and comfortable. Good sized room with super bathroom.Excellent, albeit slow, breakfast. Good location.
This was our second stay at the hotel because it is very centrally located with good access to the centre of cheltenham which is only a 5 minute walk away, but it also also provides a very quiet location when in the hotel . The information available within the hotel is also excellent Nothing
Good location with parking. Good size room, good products for bath and tea, coffee in room.
Well run, friendly hotel in an excellent location for Cheltenham's shops and facilities. Good breakfast, attentive staff. The room we were in was rather small
The excellent customer care- accommodation and breakfast superb
Friendly and welcoming staff and owners. Room very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Convenient for town center and restaurants.
it was relaxing.Very close to shops and town centre.Very close to eating places. No
Very welcoming on arrival, room warm and comfortable. Excellent breakfast, staff very efficient. Owners took the time to introduce themselves to their guests. Would reccommend this hotel.
Very happy with the welcome received, the manner in which we were treated was both personable and professional. We will be staying again soon. N/A
Good situation for shopping and meals out. Able to use nearby pool for free swim (5 mins walk) . Attentive owners happy to offer suggestions and very clean room. Slight musty smell on entering our room each time despite leaving windows open but soon un-noticeable so only a very minor point otherwise good.
Friendliness of staff, convenient location of hotel, room was exceedingly comfortable and immaculately clean.
Having stayed there 12 months ago, when I was extrememly satisfied, I rebooked again without hesitation. As on that occasion, I Had no complaints so will stay there again when the need arises in the future. The small number of car parking spaces within the boundary of the hotel. However, there is sufficient unrestricted parking on the wide road outside so is not much of a problem.
Quiet location but very close to the centre of Cheltenham. Helpful, informative and smiling staff. All was very good.
Helpful efficient staff and very close to town centre . Breakfast good . Bit noisy from night club close by .warmer bed coverings wouldnt have gone amis .
Thought the staff and the breakfast were excellent. Room was maybe a touch un-homely, but this is a very minor thing.
The atmosphere was very friendly without being intrusive. The 'rules' of the hotel were explained concisely. The full breakfast lasted me throughout the day until 8 pm! this was an added bonus as I had no time to stop during the day. Well decorated and run. There were no guest reviews.
it was close to the town only there one night very nice lovely greeting from owner.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Breakfast on Sunday morning took an age to arrive as they struggled with most people wanting breakfast around the same time.
Nice, Clean Rooms. Great Location. Friendly Owners.
welcome and consideration, I was very late due to problems with delayed train but they made me feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast was excellent and hte staff brilliant no
The staff where welcoming and efficient.
The friendliness of the owner and great breakfast A hairdryer in the room would be useful
Everything was perfect for me. Easy walking distance from bus stop, gardens, town center, pubs. Lindsey and Mark were incredible. If half the guest houses in the world are anywhere near this nice, and reasonable, I will never stay in another hotel. Shared bathroom was one floor down, not a big deal though.
The continental breakfast was fantastic - loads of food and in my own room! Also the facilities in the room such as the fridge/microwave were great and the shower was . The window and the door in my room. The window did not close properly and the pane was cracked. The door's lock was a little temperamental.
Unfair because of the flooding but Hotel is lovely
central drunken fights on street noisy pizza outlet bad section of city
It was conveniently located near the town centre. There was also some limited parking space. Check out time of 10.00 AM was early.
The Television was large Nowhere to park my car at back of hotel, i payed out a total of £9.00 to park my car over day & night at a near by car park. The Room was hot & stuffy & the hatch window that had to be propped open with anything we could find at hand. Opposite the hotel is a kebab shop that stayed open untill 05.00am, attracting every screaming drunk in the town, keeping us awake.
We had a detached studio apartment which was nice with seating outside. Being near to the shops etc Hotel reception area was very untidy and staff said we needed to pay for parking at a different location which we did! We had difficulty finding our room as we didn't get any instructions on how to get to the studio, we ended up going to the top floor and finding the studio was on the ground floor outside! Not great with heavy bags.
The area the hotel was abasex in and the hotel was very good at letting a friend pick up the keys for us
The exit door
Closeness to town centre Parking limited, bed matress could have been firmer
Nothing. This is not a hotel, it is a bedsit. Misrepresentation. Quoted as £350 down to £50. It has never been worth more than £35. Toilet had urine in it and seat lid up. Bed linen worn out, I slept on a towel as unhappy with cleansiness and left at 5am in the morning.
