10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is unique and the owner so kind. It’s a natural reserve and basically a mountain museum with Chimborazo as landscape. Lot of peace and calm. The staff was extremely kind and collaborative. The lack of wifi was not a problem at all! A great place where to stay!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and decoration are outstanding.
Cons: No curtains, small rooms for price
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view of the Chimborazo was amazing , the food too.
Cons: My room didn’t have any curtains ): I felt a little exposed , also, I like to sleep in , but that’s about it.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Excellent hosts.
Cons: Instructions to reach the property was lacking. We got totally lost despite using our GPS. Both Google maps and Waze took us to dead end roads in the middle of nowhere. We had a local sim card but were unable to make calls as the reception was so poor. We brought this point to the awareness of the owners and they have promised to put the instructions.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location and loved the Llama looking through the bedroom window. Beds were super comfortable, with great modern showers. Very clean and comfortable. Views are absolutely stunning. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: The Lodge itself was very cold and we had to eat wearing our thick motorbike jackets. The Lodge looks like a ski chalet with great ambience and huge fireplace which unfortunately was only lit after our arrival. There were only 5 guests and the place felt rather empty and dead. We were expecting a warm and cosy lodge and had the impression the staff only arrived shortly before us to check us in and cook our food and then left.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This one of the best accomodation we have ever stayed during our travels around the world! Amazing location, very warm welcome, rooms designed with style and taste. The beds are super comfy and blankets so warm. Food is super delicious and tasty, service is great! And on top of all this you get welcome from the owner Marco Cruz! It's a hidden gem in the beautiful valley underneath Chimborazo!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, scenic, tranquil.
Cons: Nothing!
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff are kind and reliable, working from sun rise to over 9pm seven days a week. I hope they are well paid for all the labor/time they dedicate to their job. Without them the place would fall apart, since the owners are most of the time absent
Cons: While booking.com allows cancelations in most places within 24 hours, in this place that did not work. The owner, lady Ximena with whom I tried to cancel one night because it was raining and without visibility, simply told me she did not allow cancelations within 24 hours. She also told me that if I cancelled online that she “required” me to pay her over $100 in cash for the cancelled night. That would mean paying for cancelation and for another hotel in town. So I felt coerced to stay against my will. Once you are at the lodge, you cannot open the interned to change your booking. I was literally stuck there for two nights recovering from a cold and suffering from altitude sickness. That is capitalism as usual disguised as mountain climbing ecologically friendly experience. Upon leaving, I checked the cancelation policy as soon as I had internet and it Does NOT state that Cancelations are not allowed or that I needed more than 24 hours. In short, I do not recommend making reservations here for more than one day. You risk being stuck in case you want to change dates either due to to hilliness or climate conditions.
