Went to Maggie Valley to see Wheels Thru Time Museum and the wife & one adult son came along. Picked Jonathan Creek because few booking available at time. What a home run! After a recent bad experience using small local inns on a PA get away we found spotless, well maintained facilities with local charm and comfort. and a friendly staff. Last minute travel changes had us stay two nights and not just one. Next season I plan a cycle tour back to Maggie Valley and to run the near by Dragon and I will return.
Beautiful area, clean friendly staff. Best on franchise hotel for the price I can remember staying in. No breakfeast served, however great resturant across the street.
Really, really liked the whole nature scene. There were plenty of trees, a rushing creek playing my favorite sounds, and a comfortable place to lay my head at night. Also, the folks behind the desk were super kind and helpful. They seemed to enjoy helping my group get orientated with Maggie's Valley.
Pretty nice hotel for the price I paid. I expected it to be cheaper looking. Which, I was ok with knowing I'd be spending little time in my room. I know not to expect anything decent from a continental breakfast but the appeal at staying at Ramada over one of the many independent inn's and motels in Maggie Valley was the breakfast. However, it was indeed terrible- I want eggs and bacon and ample fruit. The coffee wasn't even labeled decaf or not. Next time I visit Maggie Valley, NC I will stay in an independent inn and get breakfast at a diner.
The back patio to the stream was very relaxing. Location was great. There was no dresser to put clothes on which I found strange. Also, there weren't enough sheets on the bed for winter. No comforter. There was BARELY enough parking for everyone.
Desk clerk was very nice. Pool and Fitness rooms not as nice as pictured.
This is a magnificent hotel on the river. Highly recommended. Not really.
The character was a through back in time. The covered porch overlooking the creek, wonderful a very friendly atmosphere. Perfect in every way. NO!
Description of whole facility was misleading.the room we were given was dark and had a pine tree for a view
My stay at the Four Seasons was outstanding. I was really impressed with the quality of the room and the overall condition of the hotel. The food was delicous too. I would stay there again. The front desk clerk needed to be more enthusiastic and outgoing. I also think the price was a little too expensive.
For such a busy Thanksgiving weekend the staff made everything at the hotel so comfortable. I am especially thankful for the kindness shown by the front desk staff and in the breakfast room.
The first day was fine with little to complain about other than the noisy neighbors. You can hear everything, so we had to blast the air to drown out the noise. The real problem was the 2nd day for breakfast. The server snapped at my wife for asking for a difference yogurt. She looked at my wife and yelled NO! I could tell before the incident that the lady didn't want be there and had a disgusted look on her face. This is unacceptable and we complained to the manager, but she only made excuses for her. They seemed to be under staffed and unable to handle more than 20 people at a time, but that doesn't excuse the server's behavior. If you don't like to work around people, then work from home. The manager did go and get the yogurt that we were told "NO!!" they didn't have. If you stay here, eat breakfast elsewhere. You'll be glad you did. They served frozen eggs too BTW.
The hotel was easy to find, very clean and had a great breakfast. Centrally located.....but Maggie Valley is very boring! I doubt we will return but if we do, we will surely stay at this hotel. The town was BORING!
We have been staying here for several years and really appreciate the money and effort the owners have invested in improvements. The bed was more comfortable than ours at home. We definitely get our money 's worth.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
Close to area we wanted to tour.
Front desk guy was Great and Friendly!!! Hot Tub was great after day on the slopes and breakfast was Good and room was nice and clean. Second time staying here!
This is a bit better than what you expect. It was recently remodeled, so it was very clean. Bed was comfortable, TV was adequate, room was large. Staff were extremely friendly. I didn't hear a single other guest, but it wasn't particularly busy, so your mileage may vary there. I hesitate to give any hotel five stars, even the five star ones, so four is pretty high praise from me. Shower nozzle wasn't great (but the pressure was fine). Heat was finicky (it was in the lower 20s by the time I woke up). Very difficult to get the temperature "just right".
Inside of room was nice and updated with good beds, carpet and nice TV. It was convenient to Waynesville, NC mountains and Asheville. Price was very low! Inside and outside of motel are being extensively renovated and definitely need it esp on outside. Work was being done while I was there so was big dumpster right under my little balcony and people working upstairs until into the night. Had to call desk and ask they stop, which the finally did.
The rooms are non smoking. Since the rooms are non smoking, there are rocking chairs set up outside of the rooms, which looks inviting, but smokers sit outside of the rooms and smoke. My mom and I would come back to the room and would be stuck in the room with no where to relax and look at the scenery. That kind of sucked. Plus, the cigarette smoke drifted into our room. It would be nice if there was an area away from the room with inviting chairs to sit in to relax and look at the scenery.
Good diner and breakfast. Rooms in older portion of hotel are dated; a decor upgrade would enhance the stay.
Golf course, cleanliness, friendly staff, good food Everything good.
May even if your golfing you would enjoy it but we were staying one night before the cabin opened. No fault of there's but Expedia did not let them know we needed a pet friendly room so we ended up switching hotels with my brother and his family. They got the raw end of the deal while we stayed at the super 8. Everything needs to be updated I felt like I was walking into the 50'system and not in a good way. Everything closed early the day before new years eve. Not somewhere I will ever go back to.
My room was very quaint. Lots of woodwork and flannel print. This is a great spot for a fall getaway. The food at breakfast was delicious. This is a two person show and for two people they do a really good job. No ice machine (at least that I could find) Bed wasn't terrible comfortable. Only very small heater in room that was a little difficult to manage. Either too hot or too cool.
I would have liked a little larger bar of bath soap.

The staff was very hospitable and nice from the moment we arrived, and throughout our stay there. The rooms were nice, clean and very comfortable in meeting our needs. Would highly recommend The Cardinal Inn to everyone I know heading into Maggie Valley. There was nothing we did not like. This is a AAA+++ establishment.
The owners, are very friendly and welcoming. They were genuinely concerned about meeting our needs and making sure we were comfortable. No.
Perfect location. Owners were welcoming and just like family. Very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Superb staff. Bed was extremely comfortable. Love the fact it is small and quaint. Check in/out easy. Highly recommend. Our hot water was limited. Other than that, no other complaints.
The owners are super nice and helpful. Close to Waynesville and nice, quiet area

Homey feel from the ladies who own it. Motorcycle crowd seemed to like it. Only 10 rooms total, so no big crowds. My reason for going was to play poker in Cherokee and it was a little too long a drive for my liking. Not the hotels fault.
Everything. Very friendly and homey. They have a bonfire at night. Lots of hammocks chairs and grills. And even told us to get any drinks we wanted out of their refrigerator. The beds were very comfy and it was beautifully arranged. Did not want to leave No
We visited Shel and Deb, for the ump-teenth time, on the weekend of August 4, 2012. It has become one of our family's vacation traditions! Either on a long weekend away, or on a half-way break from the long car ride to our SC beach destination, we have come to anticipate a stop at Oak Hill on Love Lane as a very happy part of our family trips. We cannot thank you enough for your flexibility in accommodating our discriminating ('picky') palates on this last trip! We think the Baked Oatmeal with Fruit that Deb made for the girls was the envy of the whole breakfast party, and we intend to put in an order for all of us on our next trip! As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing 'rock on the porch' while watching the sunset against the distinctive background that is only available in Waynesville. Everything was immaculate, welcoming, lush and pristine, as we have come to take for granted. You have spoiled us for any other place! Thank you so much, and love from all of us: Rick, Cathleen and the girls, Greater Cincinnati/N. Ky Area
The kitchenette The garbage cans outside our room needed to be emptied.
Helpful staff, great price, room was way better than I expected
The room was what we wanted, the owners were exceptional nothing
Staff was very nice. Room very dusty. Sheets were clean but very musty smelling.
Nice person at desk. rated number 1 on your sight. I guess i did not read close enough. no power in bathroom, no one at desk when arrived, lots of motor cycles to wake us during the night.
this hotel had a firmular feeling of home. we like the spacious bathroom and we had plenty of room to lay stuff on the sink counter, without fear it would get knocked off. only that it needs a little bit of weather striping around the door,
We liked the location and the proximity to the local park - the festival we were going to was within walking distance& we did not have to move our car. The staff (owner) was extremely friendly & helpful. Everything was clean. Nice spacious bathroom. THE MATRESSES!!! Both of the beds in the room we were in had mattresses on them that were so soft I dubbed them 'marshmallow beds'. We rolled down into the middle when we got in and it was a challenge to get out. New mattresses wd be a big benefit.
As the host hotel a group from all around north America, this was a good place that could accommodate a crew. Our hosts were great!! Could use new mattresses to go with the well done physical updates to rooms. Mine wasn't so good.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. The room was clean, comfortable and mountain setting was very peaceful. Great place to stay if you want a reasonable-priced hotel in a beautiful, serene setting. N/A
