Wonderful family run hotel. On arrival we recieved a very warm welcome and were given a beautiful room furnished in keeping with the Georgian period of the building. A nice modern bathroom with quality toiletries and a good power shower. The restaurant is very elegantly furnished and the quality of the food at dinner was fantastic. A little more expensive than average, but then this is not your average restaurant, worth every penny for a special night out. The owner is very passionate about both his food and wine. Excelent full english breakfast. This hotel was exaxctly what I was looking for as a weekend treat for my partners birthday.
Beautiful countryside, great shopping in Birmingham. The grounds of the hotel were very well kept. well past its refurb date. environmental health and health and safety issues.
noisy revellers in the nearby Market Tavern Pub, a short distance from the hotel - this isn't a reflection on Chapel House b/c they could not control for that occurrence, but it did interfere with our sleep.
Spacious, well equipped room. Very comfortable and clean. Nothing
Friendliness of owners
Excellent food, wireless Internet access, excellent service.
Chef Patron served breakfast wearing dirty whites and not over sociable, restaurant was rather rowdy we opted to dine elsewhere. Room decor was rather dated. Cutlery and tableware could have been in better condition. No one was about to receive the keys when we left.
Excellent Breakfast (didn't have dinner) Friendly helful staff
Nice quiet place, good service, ok place
The service is excelecnt and willing to help you non
I booked the hotel to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday, it was a surprise party and we had 26 guests, all the staff went out of their way to make sure that my husband was not aware and they made the evening one to remember. the service and food were fantastic
Very quiet hotel, well-built roads in the vicinity, no-noise, perfect for relaxation and walks in nature, very decently equipped rooms, very friendly staff, highly recommended. -
Good semi-rural location, low cost, friendly and helpful staff. The windows open fully. Free wi-fi. They have a function on Friday nights that costs extra, even for guests. Some downstairs rooms overlooked.
Friendly staff, good locality
Nice bar. Good reasonably priced food. Staff courteous and helpful Shower was a bit weak but otherwise no complaints
Bar decor, food, welcome
Food was excellent
Lovely place felt v peaceful Menu needs a re think
Warm friendly staff, breakfast very tasty (but no grilled tomotoes!) Generally very good - we would visit again. Some small but important niggles:- cheap toilet paper, hook behind bathroom door really cheap looking, shower head of poor quality, carpet in lounge/dining room far to busy (pattern made me feel sick). No Sunday papers. Pillow on bed very flat and synthetic.
very basic room for the money also very noisy at night , value for money very poor
Readiness of staff to meet our needs. Small bathrooms and noisy plumbing.
Food very good and value for money, and served in very nice dining area. Staff very helpful and attentive. Great choice of real ale in the bar. Room comfortable and quiet. The room was very dark - (Fagin) - understandable as a result of the dark red colour scheme. However, couldn't even see into the wardrobe - needs far better lighting options - understand that other rooms don't have the same issue.
Warm welcome. Spacious room. Dinner main meal very poor (both our meals). Based on other hotels I have stayed at, this is over-priced for what it is.
The room & the atmosphere No
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms, decent food, well situated for Loughborough First stay in bika was quite noisy, maybe due to proximity to bar. Would not book that again. Second night in louis was perfect. Would book again.
friendly and hospitable staff
Great food and excellent service Room rather dusty
Nice rooms, ours was facing the garden at the back. I like the quarkiness of the rooms. It was good to have a restaurant in the hotel and the food was good. The staff were friendly. Also, it is located in a nice village, 10 minutes drive from Loughborough, which is where we had to be one early morning. Not much comes to mind. A little gripe: we appreciated the Molton Brown toiletries, but only one little bottle of shower gel?
Staff fre wifi free water in room Electric heater worked intermittently and inspection overdue main light in bathroom not wotrkin carpet dirty footprints no napkins offered in the bar
The Hunting Lodge was comfortable and well situated for our purposes
Very helpful staff in the hotel section. Clean, well presented room, warm & inviting. Tasty food in the restaurant. The service in the restaurant was a little slow, and we chose not to order desserts after waiting for over 20 minutes for our plates to be collected from our main course.
Building and surrounding scenery. Breakfast service was a shambles. Rooms were too small.
The room was fine The food was dismal
Decent size room with a comfortable bed, well away from noise of wedding reception and bar area Tired decor in bathroom, and damp smell in corridor leading from reception to room
Very helpful staff. Restaurant very popular with a good atmosphere Food not always very hot. Bathrooms a little tired.
nothing room not allocated as reqeusted, no tv signal, single bed, poor food
it gave the feel of being a long way from anywhere even though it is handely located for a few major cities! The recption area when you first arrive is not obvious it is not clearly signed!
The restaurant - lovely atmosphere Heating was on a bit too high for my liking, but it was tolerable.
service from staff was great, food was nice, room warm and cosy if little small, nice area for walk next morning. could hear noisy cooling fans continuously, a bit like being on a ferry so after a while you forget them.
Very helpful and friendly staff. The bath had 2 very black patches of mould in the corners near the wall. Very much in need of refurbishing.
