hotel staff were very helpful .good food first room shown was not up to standard, had to pay more money to get better room, which was very nice
Nice hotel, lovely grounds, very pleasant staff, excellent breakfast. no
The food was marvellous, the free wifi connection was very important to us and the massage was great. Difficulty parking but we always managed
The friendly and efficient service was excellent. It would have been useful if the hotel had provided a kettle and tea and coffee faacilities in our room.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, it was a very relaxing time. The Hotel staff , the quality of the food and the service was excellent. In terms of value, all prices were very reasonable and affordable. We would visit the hotel again and reccommend it to family and friends.
Nice and friendly atmosphere. This was really a relaxing stay. Exelent breakfast !!!
the services provided by the staff were excellent the very small televisions and the limited channels that were available
Good sauna and pool facilities (though a 20 euros deposit for the use of a pair of towels may seem a bit "unfriendly"), excellent breakfast and attentive staff. Location is not the best, especially if you're not travelling by car. Occasional rain (common at this time of the year) can make the 20-minute walk to the city center an unconfortable experience. Bed mattresses are way too soft, they may not be suitable for people with back problems.
Great staff, easy walk.
Wonderful location, management was excellent, and the staff were extremely helpful. Additionally, the rooms are large, and very nice for such a low price point. Amazing breakfast spread as well. That I couldn't stay longer. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Friendly staff. Very helpful and welcoming. Wasn't a problem for us because we just visited during the start of fall but lack of AC could be a problem on hotter days.
Great location, fabulous big room, incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommended!
The hotel-restaurant was excellent
Parking; welcoming touches (sign on door, free bottle of wine). Overpriced for ordinary room with no view; distance from town.
view of river mosel from our balcony and relaxed atmosphere steep hill to hotel, but you can't have the view from river level !
Well situated hotel relative to castle and town of Cochem, about 30 minutes' easy walk from the town center. Very attentive, polite, and helpful reception staff. Room slightly on the small side but not uncomfortable.
It was a nice stay, people were very helpfull especially for us 2year old daughter. Really nice in details also..
Our final room was very good with a view of the Mosel. We chose a room in the annexe. There was nothing on the website to show that these rooms were down several staircases across the hotel gardens and down more steps. The car parking was on a public road and hard to find. For this reason we asked to change the room. Incomprehensibly we still kept our dinner table based on the old room number for the rest of our stay. Food was below standard for price and stars.
This was a wondeful hotel! The views from our room of gthe castle and the Mosel river were magic. Staff excellent and food good. About a 15 minute walk to the town of Cochem.
Nice room. Very good breakfast. Very convenient location. Service attitude of hotel staff not very customer oriented, partly even unpolite. Compared to other hotels of this area too expensive. Extra charge of EUR 10,-- for credit card usage is very annoying, since not a global standard.
Friendly staff, well appointed rooms and good views of the Mosel and cochem Castle.
Our hotelroom had a nice balkony with afternoon sun acing the garden an view on the river. The hotel is situated on a perfect distance to the town centre (about 10 min walk), so the noice of the inner city with all the tourists is not disturbing people who want to go to sleep a little early. Breakfast is good and service is excellent. The rooms do not have any "unneeded" luxury, but all you need is there. We had avery nice stay.
The hotel was a 10 minute walk from downtown on sidewalks adjacent to the Mosel River. The room was good sized, clean and had a nice balcony. Parking was easy. The staff was helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. The restaurant onsite, Divino, was very, very good. We liked the place a lot.
Parking is excellent. Pleasant 10 minute walk to centre. Very comfortable beds.
Clean and basic. Good standard. Needs more car parking
The personal attention of the owner/managers and immediate reaction to any request or commment - more a home than a hotel
Clean, warm, efficient Expected to have evening meal at hotel but were told on arrival restaurant was closed on Mondays
Suitable accommodation to explore Moselle area Parking - inadequate spaces. Had to park on wet grass surface.
Fantastic location with excellent nearby restaurants, pubs, and shops. The hotel was great, however, the time spent in town was the best.
Everything was spacious (I doubt that this would apply to hotels that are more centrally located; however, Park Hotel was not far from the centre either, about 800m). There was a large lawn area and a pond with fish swimming around. Our son loved it! Parking on site is a big bonus, and one of the reasons we chose the hotel. A bit pricy.
Staff Lack of internet connection
We enjoyed the scenery and the hotel. The breakfast was superb ! We would have liked to have had the facilities to make a tea or coffee in out room.
we had a wonderful stay. we requested a room with a view of the castle and - or the mosel river and they gave us both....it was truly beautiful and i would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to be in cochem.
Well situated, friendly staff, easy walk into town
The view of the Castle from the balcony I thought it was closer to Cochem Center and it does not provide evening meals
I liked the bedroom and the breakfast The position was not good as I had to walk a long way from Cochem station
Great location with Castle and river views. Owner even got up early to provide breakfast at 6.30am due to our early departure. what service can't recommend highly enough.
The location and the staff.
The hotel staff set a standard of care unmatched by any other hotel we've stayed at in Germany. The breakfast was amazing - we've never seen our kids (6 & 3) eat so much. The owner is very hands-on and is meticulous inhis attention to detail. He knew our routine after one day and had the breakfast table set-up (drinks, place settings, chairs, etc.) exactly how we wanted it on the 2nd morning. We will be going back in the Summer and would not think of staying anywhere else.
Location Rooms were a bit tired
The staff were extremely friendly spoke good English and did all they could to make our stay a good one. Will be going back soon.
Great location, great views, friendly and helpful staff, wonderful restaurant, good value for the money Having air conditioner would have been nice but it is not a big deal as the room cooled down significantly at night.
Had an excellent balconied room overlooking the river. Parking was a bit of a problem - had to remember to feed the machines periodically.
Location, pleasant staff, budget Lack of parking
views from room, amenities in room, clean standard of Sunday meal could have been btter viz sevice and food quality
Location is super and staff great. Some rooms were small with limited river view. Available internet ridiculously expensive. Parking garage overcharged too.
Staff was very accomodating. We had to leave before breakfast, and the night staff prepared a brunch to go which was ready at 6am. Driving to the parking area was long and difficult due to one-way streets and construction. The walk from the hotel to the parking was difficult due to the sharp up-hill walk.
It was not possiple to park at the hotel
Good view, central to town facilities
The hotel was in a perfect location in the city. It was convenient to local attractions (castle, wineries), restaurants and the river (boat cruise). The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful with information about activities that were available. They even surprised my friend with a strawberry pastry with a sparkler on top at breakfast for her birthday. What a nice thoughtful
Excellent location facing the river right in the middle of shops, restuarants, bars etc.. Rooms clean and spacious with a mini bar.lovely restaurant and terrace bar. Manager and Assistant manager spoke excellent English> I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. As it is so central to amenities it was a bit noisy at night.
Unable to stipulate room location on booking. Ended up looking over the back alley and adjacent properties. Lot of late night noise from pubs/clubs (until almost 5am both nights!!) so little sleep. With no airconditioning unable to close windows. Despite no smoking room specified and signs within the room, on arrival distinct smell of stale smoke. With no facilities after 6pm not really a hotel. Would not recommend unless you can stipulate Mosel facing room. At 128 Euros a night poor value for money.
Excellent No tea and coffee making facilities
The friendly staff, we were able to find people who spoke English, the 2nd floor terrace, the large bathroom.
Breakfast on the balcony was an excellent way to start the day. Staff were extremely helpful and polite.
Comfortable hotel in centre of town.
clean, updated room with staff ready to make your stay comfortable
The hotel (and cafe on the ground floor) staff was very helpful. Room was clean and breakfast was excellent. Very noisy at night as there is a pub (or nightclub) near by at the back side of the hotel.
It is a small hotel, and we booked the honeymoon suite. It was the only one with a balcony and a vieuw over the river AND the castle. The reception is closed after six, but it was not a big deal.
Excellent location, cleanliness, friendliness, breakfast. Helpful staff.
Quate and relaxaing stat
Lack of a non-smoking room. Need to book on a half-board basis.
The friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. The cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of the food
Excellent friendly service from the moment we arrived to the time of departure. We had a none smoking room with balcony which was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The food was excellent and I would highly recommended this hotel. Nothing
The fantastic welcome, the postition of the hotel, the views, and also from our point of view as catholic, the religious side of everything was perfect...something we didn't anticipate... The only problem was the lack of english literature. We received a welcome pack but couldn,t understand it.. but think the manager is going to address this at some point...
Staff very helpful and polite - I came in late and they were able to get me food even though the kitchen was closed. Good facilities, clean room. Nothing
We missed the veiw from our room
everything. no faults at all
hotel was first class, staff spoke english ,were very helpful ,food was first class ,rooms very clean ,no noise at night.
The quality of the rooms and the dining room. Superb menu and great presentation. We saw a small dog in the dining room belonging to a guest that was eating. Dogs are obviously allowed the dining area.
Very nice hotel, pleasant and helpful staff where needed, really nice views over looking cochem
The balcony view was stunning, taking in the Mosel river and Cochem, with the added bonus of a spectacular castle thrown in for good measure! The excellent staff were delightfull in every department and ever willing to help. Their English is also very useful to us brits who should be ashamed of our willingness to learn a language other than that of our own... guten tag und danke schon... to all the staff at the hotel for making our stay so pleasant. Breakfast was between 8 to 10am which was ok but if you are there after 9:15 the choices are limited... this can be easily rectified.
Staff and Breakfast
Truly wonderful view from balcony room, very helpful staff, and there was a very good breakfast
The location near to the town center, free parking and good food.
A good size room that was very clean and comfortable. The location was good, just a short walk from all the action of Cochem. Also, a very good restaurant. Standard German breakfast. Drunks on Saturday night were quite noisy, not that it bothered us much. We just slept a bit later Sunday. Could not get internet to work.
The service, food and the friendlyness of the staff.
Despite being in a tourist area, the hotel and bar closed at ten o'clock at night!! Disappointing.
Free parking. Proximity to the town and market area.Had elevator. For the price in a tourist area it was functional. Sheets had holes, some which were sewn. No soap, shampoo. Old towels.
the staff was freindly and helpful
We booked three rooms for a one night stay at this "hotel". The rooms were basic and clean, location was ok and there was not much street noise as we were there on a Sunday night. We always bring our overseas visitors to Cochem because we love the town - there is a lot to do & see, and it is a pretty town......We have stayed at a number of different hotels here, and this has to be by far the worst!! The man at the bar/reception got very angry and aggressive when I complained about flat diet coke!! Will never stay here again! There are many more pleasant places to stay in Cochem! Avoid this one like the plague!
Location was perfect. Very clean and friendly staff
The room was a nice size and the breakfast was nice. Free parking and close to the town. The beds were uncomfortable, especially the pillows. The room appeared to be clean but we found 4 spiders whilst there. The owners were not always friendly and were always sitting around smoking whilst we were eating our breakfast.
Great deal for the money. Helpful and friendly staff, large breakfast, free parking and clean, spacious rooms.
very clean and tidy
Excellent service/staff. Wonderful view from room balcony.
Our room was excellent, with a large modern bathroom including a bath. The view over the river and town was exceptional. Although the use of English was limited, the staff were friendly and helpful and we were referred to an English-speaking waitress when necessary. It was a very convenient base for our visit to the Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.
The room had a wonderful view of the Mosel River, and the breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay here and would return again!
The staff was very nice and helpful. We liked the accommodations, close to the action in town.
About the only thing in its favour is its location in Cochem. It was quite noisy from both the nearby church with its quarterly chimes and also from guests going to their rooms late in the evening.
Convenience to everything and a wonderful view of the river and castle.
Fabulous breakfast, convenient location Could use a decor update, but good value for the price
The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast service staff was excellent. Some hotels do have more items for breakfast but this was a very complete breakfast with many choices. As a small hotel there was a very friendly atmosphere. The dinner menu and quality is very very good. The hotel met my needs very nicely but one should know that as a small hotel it does not have all the amenities of a large hotel. This hotel is of a very typical size for this location. The hotel does emphasize the restaurant service which is of high quality and was used by many non-guests as well.
Liked the riverfront location, super breakfasts, Balcony view of river and old town and castle Car space
Everything. The owner and the staff went out of their way to make us as comfortable and welcome as possible. No!!!!!!
The room was very clean. The staff extremely helpful. They spoke good english and were friendly. The location was right on the river moselle so we had an excellent view as our room was facing the front. As we were facing the beautiful river scene, this also included the main cochem road. The noise level from the road, which had lorries and motorbikes racing past from early to late. If we closed the window it was extremely hot in the room so we were forced to leave them open. Perhaps air conditioning or a fan in the room, and tea/coffee making facilites would have been great.
Excellent breakfast, large parking place. Large and clean room, spaced facilitiy. Need a car to get to Cochem center.
We loved all the fine meals that were served at the hotel and the location near the main area of Cochem. We would recommend this hotel to others without question. Nothing
We received a warm welcome and all the staff continued this excellent level of hospitality throughout our stay at Stumbergers. The restaurant always offered a good choice of menu and service. Finally, our room featured an excellent standard of accommodation and cleansiness. All in all, a highly recommended hotel in a very nice part of Germany.
The view was Amazing. The location was great because of the view of the castle. The city was quiet, romantic and peaceful. The vineyards also provided a great view.
The hotel is well managed. Our room had a nice modern style with a large balcony looking over the Mosel river. There was also a nice view of the castle. It was a pleasant 15 minute walk to the center of Cochem. Cochem is noisy with church bells, people, trains, cars and boats all making noise. The location of this hotel avoids the first two noise sources. Our room with the balcony had the last three. It did not bother us, but it would bother some people.
We were delighted with the room and especially the view from the balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We would have liked some tea & coffee making facility available in the room.
Very friendly staff and owners. Nice and elaborate breakfast. The quisine was overrated by other travellers. Certainly not bad, but we were expecting (again, based on the other travellers) something very special.
Outstanding view of the Cochem Castle above the town and the Mosel River. Bright, clean, comfortable rooms and friendly service.
The location was great and the room was decent sized. The kids had to share a small couch turned bed, but it worked out fine. The breakfast was good. The room was a bit sterile, and my husband was kept up by boat noise (I didn't hear it).
Very modern, tasteful, comfortable and well-equipped, the hotel was overlooking the Marché de Noël. The breakfast selection was the best we have had in Germany with bacon, eggs, and fresh fruit as well as the usual cold buffet. We wish that wifi was available in the rooms.
Ultra convenience to the happenings in Cochem; hotel packed me a lunch on day of my checkout; excellent restaurant
The Hotel La Baia had been recently remodeled. The room was beautiful, chic and modern with sliding doors onto a balcony as well as windows that actually worked. We especially liked the glass door to the bathroom and the high quality soaps and shampoos. Breakfast was lovely, all breads, meats, eggs, juice and coffee were brought to the table. It was very relaxing. We were traveling by train, and this hotel was a short 5-10 min walk from the station, but absolutely no train noise. We also ate at the restaurant which was packed and for good reason - excellent. Some noise from late night celebrations echoing off the cobblestone streets, but it was Friday night and everyone was up late.
Great location, very clean and new
the staff was very friendly. the room was nice and clean. I liked everything about this hotel
Great hotel, location was excellent, right in the city center near the shopping, wine cellars and restaurants. Breakfast was really good and the coffee was excellent. Just remodeled in June 09, very nice and modern. Room faced the city center which could be loud, even late in the evening.
staff professional and attentive, a new hotel and extremely nice, would visit again
The rooms have been recently re-modeled. They are new and clean. We had a nice balcony view. Some of the renovations have not yet been completed. It was difficult to find the hotel reception.
The room was unusually large and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpfull! Great Location!
The hotel was clean and efficient and very centrally located. The staff was helpful and friendly.
They accommodated a last minute booking seamlessly. Check in was smooth. Clean, cute, great location, breakfast was great. Nothing. Realize Google maps had the front door on street to the East. Wasn't a problem, just be aware at check in.
The size of the rooms and friendly staff
very very friendly, clean and spacious. No
very good service!
Everthing was more then OK, The appartment is big end very comforbel. The lady off the house is like a mother. I going back in the winter. Maiby note that the Gasthaus is in a walking area, no cars allowd.
The room was small to average size, but quite luxurious. Although a little cramped, the bathroom was modern. The bed was large and comfortable. Our room had a nice view of the fortress. The host was by far the best part of the experience, being extremely friendly and helpful. People who are driving here need to know that the hotel is inaccessible by car. The hotel parking is only a 2 minute walk away, but requires a key, available from reception, for entry. Also, the parking is a little tricky to get to, requiring one to drive a large loop up a hill then back down again. It is technically possible to get to the parking directly from the riverside road, but this requires driving through the market place - very scary, and needs a permit, again avaiable from the hotel.
Location in the city, no river view but nice combination of old building with modern renovation style. Really friendly staff and owners. Room was big and bathroom was ok. Restaurant was expensive but worth every cent. Breakfast was good too. We liked the hotel but maybe someone might not like the steep streets around.
Real castle No entertainment, no tv, no phone, no internet
The staff were very friendly, and very helpful. They could not be faulted. Breakfast was fabulous - very relaxed. Despite beds, would definitely stay there again. Beds not so great, although this is personal none of the 4 in our party slept well due to the bedsPoor bathroom storage. Could have done with some better signposting to hotel which is difficult to find - but in a fabulous location.
beautiful setting and wonderful friendly welcoming staff. The car park was up the hill a bit away but the hotel staff helped with the baggage so this wasnt a problem
Fabulous food provided by very gracious hosts...fairy tale location & pristine hotel accomodations.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of the city and in easy walking distance of the main atractions. Side trips to other towns are easy by car or by train. The breakfast included in the price is excellent. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. No real negatives but be aware that the great location is a double edged sword in that being in the center of action you can get street noise and so sleeping in is not possible. But, who cares? We were there for doing things and seeing things and wanted early starts anyway.
It was great to be able to speak directly with Birgit and Ingo, the owners of the Lohspeicher. In our too-short stay of four nights, they made us feel as if we were "at home" in their home. The accommodations we had in the "deluxe" non-smoking room were lovely--lots of space, a very modern, large, updated bathroom, and extremely clean. There was even a teddy bear on each bed to welcome us! Outstanding dinner offered in Chef Ingo's 3-star dining room, L'Auberge du Vin, where they even serve wine from the family vineyards! While this was not a negative to us, if a guest has trouble walking up stairs, they might find it difficult accessing the hotel as it is accessible only by climbing a set of cobblestone stairs to get there.
It was simply fantastic - both the hotel and the restaurant were first class and the staff absolutely wonderful
Excellent location, just off the main market square. Not too long of a walk from the train station, and pretty quiet at night, in spite of the central location. Also the breakfast is very nice. The room was a bit cramped for the cost. The shower did not work particularly well.
Hotel is a very good value for money. Comfortable large rooms. Beds are excellent and comfy. Some rooms have a fantastic view to the castle (top floor). The bathroom needs remodling. There are no onsite hotel personnel, although this turned out not to be any problem for us. We exhausted the town in 2 hours.
The room was tidy and clean; a great value for the price. It is a few blocks from the main tourist area (in a residential neighborhood) which made it a bit quieter and a very pleasant experience.
The apt was lovely and modern. Fortunately, we found a supermarket and a bus stop nearby so that we could go into town. Otherwise, without a car, we would have had a real problem. It seems that this place is intended for German vacationers with a car. When we first got there, there was no way of knowing how to get in. Only by luck did a neighbor show up and tell us about the key and the note under the mat. Otherwise, we would never have gotten in. Good thing he happened to be home and we were persistently calling out.!
very convenient and accessible to Cochem and surrounding areas. very neat and clean
The house was nice looking and there were kitchen equipment available for cooking. The hotel is a bit far from the train station in Cochem.
Our penthouse room had a beautiful view of the castle. We also had a small kitchen area that was an added bonus.
It was reasonably priced with good access to the central Mosel valley. It was an easy walk to Cochem. The room was a decent size and clean. There was no staff on site and it took over an hour to contact someone by phone to let us in.
Very clean and nice apartment. A litle bit far from city center
I accidentally booked the room for the wrong date (off by 1 day) and when we showed up the lady in charge was kind enough to accommodate us anyway. Beautiful, cozy hotel with balcony views of the castle. Easy 10-20 min stroll along the river to the town center. Recommend eating at Pizzeria Castello.
Location is great, staff is very friendly and the rooms are quite comfortable.
Haus Von Hoegen is situated very close to Cochem (about 1 km). The appartment had a kitchenette (small pots and pans though) which is a grand thing for people having a tight budget for the holidays. It was nice & calm in the evening. Very good situated nearby the Mosell (with a lovely view on the Reichsburg) and can function very well as a "home base" for hiking in the wine hills, visiting castles such as Burg Elz, and to explore Cochem and the small medieval villages nearby (Belstein is a must!). Best go by car, we've found the train station and it is about a 2 km walk to go to the appartment.
