Cons: Room service food was awful I’ve eaten in a few of the restaurants at this hotel as we have a house in the area. the service is slow and food has been v poor Our meal was cold and they forgot one of the starters. Both the pad Thai and Bolognese were no where near 5 star hotel level

Pros: The confort and service of a 4 stars boutique hotel. Marie Christine made our stay very enjoyable. The room was very big, there was attention put in every details from the bathroom amenities to the books on the Cognac stories. The delicious homemade fresh breakfast taken in the garden is the cherry on the cake.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Christine, was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. She had renovated the house to a very high standard and furnished it with lots of interesting things. Our room was extremely spacious and comfortable, with separate seating and bedroom areas, as well as a huge bathroom area. We could have also made use of the garden if the weather had been better. It felt more like being at home than in a B&B/Hotel. Although the breakfast was along the lines of a continental breakfast, the quality was excellent.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything just excellent!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and accommodations. Christine was a very gracious host, assisting us in scheduling cognac tours, providing excellent restaurant recommendations and she prepared a wonderful continental breakfast including fresh fruit, croissants, and homemade jams & yogurt. Our Cognac visit was definitely enhanced thanks to Christine and her hospitality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal service, excellent breakfast (french)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is beautiful and decorated with excellent taste. Our room/suite was very spacious and comfortable, like in a 5 star hotel with luxury toiletries and quality towels and linen and the whole place is spotlessly clean. We had a delicious breakfast on the terrace with freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade jams and yoghurt and fresh fruit salad. Christine is a perfect hostess with plenty of good suggestions for restaurants or visits to local cognac houses. Highly recommended. There is ample free parking on the road outside the house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really liked this property. The hostess is welcoming and informative. Breakfast was delightful with homemade yogurt and jams. Our room was the attic but it was huge and beautifully remodeled with lots of towels and a very modern bath. The location is close to the major cognac producers, and walking distance to restaurants and the river front.
Cons: What we were not prepared for was the 2 flights of stairs on a spiral staircase. Since we were on a long trip, with a lot of luggage, this was a problem for a one night stay. I recommend you ask where your room will be if stairs are an issue. Parking is on the street in front and although for us there was a space available, the time of arrival will make a difference.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely serviceminded owner. Beautiful renovated hotel, modern but the charm has been kept. Tasty breakfast included. Close to city center. Very clean. Highly recommended!!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

Small touches go a long way and here there are too many to name them all. Breakfast was excellent enjoyable and in the most beautiful conservatory room. Fresh home made yoghurt and jam and full of French Pastries. A real gem don’t hesitate to book here.
Cons: There is nothing not to like here.

Pros: This place was wonderful!!!! The host was extremely accommodating and assisted us in getting our van parked in her personal garage. The pool was an added bonus as it was a really nice cool down from the heat wave and after a day of walking and touring. Breakfast was beautiful and she even refrigerated our snacks and allowed us to retrieve them out of her refrigerator whenever we wanted. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay at this hidden pearl. The room was nice, the staff wonderful and the breakfast fantastic.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The actual building was wonderful. It is in an area of back streets around the area where they produce cognac (Remy Martin is practically next door). And also right next to the train station. Nothing wrong with the area, just not very quaint would be my description. Once you walk (about 10 mins) to the main centre is nice and a real place, not just for tourists, there are bars and cafes etc. We had a great meal and enjoyed out stay. Breakfast was nice, help yourself and I would say slightly lazy on their part. Would recommend if in town.
Cons: Our room with terrace was below street level, so view was a grey wall. Everything else very nice.

Cons: The room smelt of drains
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A little walk to town center, but worth staying at this beautiful place!!!!!!!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The arquitecture of the Château and its decoration shows an excellent taste where no details were ignored.. The suite was spacious, tidy and really clean.. The breakfast was also very nice.. Although these are all good things what makes worth your stay is the way you feel welcomed by the staff. We arrived exhausted after several hours driving and that made it a great stay..
Cons: Nothing to say.. Got really impressed with the hotel..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old building on the outskirts of Cognac. (20 min walk into the centre). Exquisite gardens and a lovely swimming pool for cooling off. The staff were friendly and our room was large and very peaceful, no complaints. Parking at the property was also a bonus.
Cons: Everything was fantastic, my only slight criticism would be that it would have been nice to have the breakfast tables set up outside in the beautiful gardens rather than inside. The breakfast was tasty though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: For the end of our ten days holiday in Aquitane It was a perfect accomodation , having the king deluxe room called romantic room. The property is beautiful, elegant, styled and ,also, warm and full of hospitality. Very comfortable and spotless with careful attention to All details, inside and outside. The king deluxe apartment has three tv sets out of which one in the bathroom that is huge and very modern. The breakfast was delicious and we highly apreciated the kindness and discretion of the host ( that is also the owner of the property). The safe parking inside is an important advantage. I am very grateful to the owner for our early check in that gave us the possibility to visit two cognac distileries in the same day ( Both of them , 15 min from the property). We will be delighted to recommend this accomodation to our friends visiting Cognac, as the first choise.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very nice people. Normally reception closes at 21.30 but they opened up the gates of the carpark for us at 00.30 when we had delays on the road. The owner even took the time to ask us how our journey had been although he was visibly tired. Breakfast is very good. Pain au chocolat, croissants, fruits, toast and sausages, bacon and egg. Also that we could have breakfast on the terrace was very pleasant. Our room for 5 was really large, very good beds, very clean..and I am not easy to please so this is really a compliment to the establishment. We would come back definitely.
Cons: It was perfect. The only small remark would be that we had a glass with lipstick stains on it from a previous user. We went to get a new drink then so no problem, but maybe check the glasses for lipstick when they come out of the dishwasher next time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. Breakfast was lovely, and the pool was glorious. Crystal was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer
Cons: Nothing. Loved it
4.5 Okay
Pros: A lovely chateau set in lovely grounds just a few miles from Cognac. Room clean and well equipped although rustic.
Cons: We love rustic, however the general impression was one of lack of attention. We think we were the only guests staying the night but there was a full ashtray on the garden table and the pool needed a good clean. We were a little confused about the catering arrangements as the website shows restaurant facilities, except for breakfast we saw no evidence. The biggest issue though were the cats.....on arrival we were met by one who led us inside, no problem. I went to the room and opened the windows leaving the shutters slightly open. On my return to the room two cats were sat on the bed! We stayed in the garden for about an hour, during that time we saw 9 cats. We like cats, we have one, but this was a little over the top. During the night we had to keep the windows shut (on a very hot night) to stop the cats entering. Breakfast was a good spread however we just could not get over the thought that the cats might have sampled it before us!

Pros: Sweet little paradise on a romantic old chateau, very quiet place, lovely rooms, nice garden and swimmingpool, very nice sweet lady of the house, great breakfast. Got a very tasty lunch at the swimmingpool. We would love to come back.
Cons: Nothing. Just the interior decoration is not everybody's taste. Plus it was a pity the table d'hotes was not open so we had to travel to Cognac, but this is only 10 minutes by car.
7.0 Good
Pros: If you want to stay in a proper old fashioned chateau, this is the one. It's untouched by time and you can imagine yourself in 18th century France. We loved it. The room was fine and had view of the church. Breakfast was continental but plenty of it. There's a swimming pool, but we didn't try it.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing else in the village but houses, so nowhere to go and have an evening drink. The hotel itself doesn't have a bar. There was an off licence but it was shut. There is no evening meal so we had to get back on the motorbike and ride to the next larger village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The tranquility of the location and the homely welcome given by Christel and her son who also spoke good English was very much appreciated. After a long drive it was lovely to be able to walk around the beautiful gardens, and pool was available if you want to use it. Sitting in the garden after dinner was also a bonus
Cons: There was nothing we did not dislike.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Very authentic French experience, if you like cats it’s perfect. Very friendly hosts, wish my french was better.
Cons: No air conditioning or fans, had to keep bedroom shutters closed to stop cats and mosquitoes getting in! To be fair, the temperatures were extreme when we stayed.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nice chateau inside a small village. All services inside the cottage room.
Cons: Cottage room is not inside the Chateau but located in a small building alongside the road across the chateau garden. Access is only from the outside road, noisy with cars passing by. Swimming pool was dirty.

Cons: The shower head was a bit finicky. It would be nice to have a window in the room to open and allow fresh air in.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's an Ibis - you know what to expect! THE bonus was the Receptionist - he was LOVELY! What a welcome! After getting lost in the town (lots of roadworks), it was a delight to see such a smiley, friendly person! Opposite the Hotel is a car park/park, so plenty of parking and the morning/evening dog-walk was easy. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, just five minutes' walk away. Also lots of nice shops - but closed on Mondays, comme d'habitude!
Cons: Getting lost!!! (our fault!)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good service. Reception and cleaners.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good value. Good coffee and tea. The bread was excellent. Thibault, who served us on our first morning, was charming. He was very helpful throughout our stay. The lady who helped us out with the car parking problem went out of her way to assist us. The rooms were spotless.
Cons: We had a very poor welcome from a very offhand lady who should not be on the front desk. The hotel's car park was closed for building work. We had not been informed of this. The hotel car park was one reason we booked the hotel. An apology would have been appropriate. Instead we were told we could not have used it anyway, because we had not reserved a space! Very poor communication from the hotel on this matter.
5.8 Okay
Pros: How central it was.
Cons: I should have been warned that the hotel was undergoing a full renovation inside which was very disappointing.
