Pros: Our suite was absolutely amazing. The huge bed was incredibly comfortable. Many hours were spent by the enticing pool. Sylvie and Dennis were fantastic hosts. The food prepared by Dennis was worthy of their Michelin Star rating.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel with 4 suites, swimming pool and gourmet food made and served by the hosts. Perfect for visits to Cotinac, local wine farms and interesting places in Provence - just ask Denis and Sylviane for advise.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Room furnishings maybe a little fussy, but not overbearing. Bed comfortable.
Cons: Too much emphasis in adhering to rules, seemingly as a consequence of some previous guests misbehaving!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thank you for the wonderful food, service and wine! We loved our stay. Beautiful place and lovely owners.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a lovely well kept place ,the hosts were fantastic as were the rooms. The evening meal was the best we had all week and the breakfast was equally good.I would just like to say thank you very much to our hosts.
7.1 Good
Pros: The property is beautiful. Amazing pool and I upgraded to larger room which had a small living room. It is in a lovely part of the world.
Cons: I was disappointed in how strict the arrival and food options were given how isolated the area is. I notified the owners that i was going to be 2 hours early (2pm) as my transport was changed that morning, I didn't mind if my room wasn't ready. Purely so i could drop my bag off and then explore the area perhaps, or wait beside the pool. I was told this was impossible. It meant that from 2pm-4pm I had to wait outside the property in the heat which was very frustrating, after a long journey. You cannot walk on the roads with bags as there are no pavements. There was also a number of signs saying food and drink was forbidden, even though there was a limited window for breakfast, and had to decide on dinner the day before. Slightly odd to be under so much pressure with food options. I was on the location for a wedding and was sharing a car with friends in a different spot, Taxis were very hard to obtain (no rideshare apps) and very expensive. (€15 one way to Cotignac which is 4 minutes drive) I would suggest if you do stay, make sure you know EXACTLY when you arrive, and drive.
7.1 Good
Pros: Pretty room and comfy bed
Cons: Very strict check in, charges 50 euro to check in 10 mins early! Must follow ALL rules! Felt more like staying at parents house than a relaxing hotel for holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hosts, enjoyable garden and swimming pool. Good bed and spacious suite room. Lovely breakfasts and delicious diners (quality exceeds price). Good locations for visits in the Var Region.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were exceptionally attentive and accommodating. The food was a real experience, flavoursome, beautifully presented and delicious. Beautiful setting.
Cons: Car preferable or taxis ( though can be difficult to access
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing property , we stayed with our adult children so had the place to ourselves, the food was fabulous, the rooms were very tastefully decorated, had all mod cons, the pool area is private and comfortable. Our hosts Denis and Sylvia were very friendly and tried their best to accommodate different dietary requirments.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the peaceful location about 3 km outside of Cotignac and about 6 km to the local Eurospar where I bought provisions. The bathroom was very modern and the toilet being separate was a bonus. It was great to have bread and croissants delivered freshly baked each morning and the options to take breakfast at 12 euros daily and a three course dinner for 32 euros per person any day except Friday and Sunday. It was nice to have the privacy of no daily cleaning service, fresh towels or bedding.
Cons: All was good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the welcoming glass of (superb) local rose to the final early (wonderfully tasty and comprehensive) breakfast, Angelique and Dirk did everything possible to make us feel at home. Our extremely spacious gite was spotless and had everything you could wish for. Being away from the main road it was very peaceful and a nice 25 stroll took us into the heart of beautiful Cotignac. The swimming pool was a nice size and it was lovely to discover that it was heated. All in all a fabulous stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is very charming and nicely organized. The breakfast was homemade and delicious (fresh orange juice, homemade bread and crêpes). The host was helpful and welcoming. She even offered us a glass of regional wine at our arrival!
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very warm welcome - everything is very neat and tidy - emaculate garden, spotless, clean and cool rooms. Most generous sizes - for the rooms - for breakfast - for the pool and heated too. As a bonus try the walk amongst the olive trees and vineyards - just devine le petit weekend!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location close to vineyards, wonderful garden with a great pool, friendly hospitality, clean room, nice village Cotignac, private parking, touristic information provided by the owner
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Just a fabulous place to stay , the accommodation , the facilities, the lady of the house, the breakfast, just everything.. We booked this place randomly, looking at the reviews, and it was absolutely awesome... wish we could stay longer. If you look for a quiet comfortable place to relax after a long day of sightseeing, that is THE Place

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic house, garden, breakfast, hostship.
7.1 Good
Pros: First impression as we came in was very good. It's a nice place with very pleasant garden and view outside. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable.
Cons: Unfortunately we didn't have a pleasant experience simply because the owner received some guests (Rock Band) who took a dinner downstairs. The problem was that they were all smoking heavily, the door of the kitchen / dining room was left wide open, thus it did not take long for the smoke and this awful smell to reach the first floor. As the door to the toilet in the corridor was also left open, it did stink there as well. Awful experience and a clear breach of the guide lines that BnB owners need to follow. Each time we needed to reach the bathroom, which also was outside the room, was a nightmare.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess had a clear understanding of our small needs...i.e. coffeee in the afternoon, wine in the evening, small talk, all these important things that make you feel at home. Truly wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning property. Views magnificent. Owner great host
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful property with lovely view. Traditional French Provincial style home with lots of character. The gardens surrounding the house are manicured and maintained. Breakfast each morning is in the shaded terrace/courtyard that overlooks the Olive grove and beyond. The pool itself is large and set amongst the gardens. A surprisingly good find and great value for money.
Cons: I thought no air con would Bevan issue but providing you keep the shutters and windows closed while you’re out during the day, the room stays cool and floor tiles keep the interiors cool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Brigitte made me feel like an old friend. A brilliant smile and willingness to help in any way
Cons: I had to leave too soon
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous pool and great location.
Cons: A bit strange no toilet in the room!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent guesthouse within walking distance from the village. The hostess is super friendly and our room was nice and clean. There`s a big garden and a nice swimming pool. We were served a lovely continental breakfast with cheeses, fresh pastries and delicious homemade preserves. We had a great stay. Cotignac is a charming village, and within a few km (biking distance) there are some excellent wineries to visit for tastings and tours. We did a few day trips by car in the surrounding area. Cotignac was the perfect base for our holiday.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I stayed here recently while attending a wedding at Chateau de Robernier. We had such a wonderful time here, the house is very private and in a quiet area. The room was beautiful - it’s a European size room but the space is used very well and was comfortable. Eating our pastries (provided fresh daily) and coffee each morning on the terrace was beautiful. The pool is lovely and there are plenty of places to sit out and enjoy the sun. The village is only a 5 min drive away and there is a large shop nearby to pick up food and essentials. Would highly recommend for couples looking for a quiet place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is very sweet and disposable..she treated us gently and suggested us very helpfully for our stay! Quite and relaxing place and nice property!
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed my stay at Des Chenes. The room has everything you need with private access and a small outside terrace for sitting outside. It can get quite hot in summer but a cooling fan is provided and there is a nice outside swimming pool. The area is quite peaceful, tranquil but a little remote so you should have a car to get around. There is a supermarket close by and within walking distance. I was on my own and it was perfect. Stephanie is a lovely host, provides a continental breakfast each morning and makes sure you have what you need. I would happily stay again.
Cons: There are no coat hangers or hanging space which is needed for coats, suits or dresses. With the addition of fridge, table, cups, plates and so on, moving around can get a little tight.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very friendly owner. A little remote nowhere to walk for a meal or coffee. There is a spar supermarket which you can walk to for groceries. The room has a kettle fridge and microwave. Large ensuite bathroom. Lovely pool. Bed very comfortable and room clean
Cons: Unable to walk anywhere for a meal or a coffee. No hangers or real hanging space for clothes, advise to take hangers as there is a large coat stand and the wardrobe only has shelves.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is so quite and not far from Centre of town only 5 minutes drive. The room is nice and clean. Bed is comfortable. The swimming pool is so perfect for summer. Also breakfast with warm croissants, baquette, coffee, juice every morning. The owner, Stephanie is so kind and very helpful. She also helped us arrange transport a well.
Cons: At this small village, It is better to have a car to go around the area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place and cycle friendly. Hostess made us eggs for breakfast!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Traditional bed and breakfast right in the heart of the village. Dany was a lovely host and even supplied fans for the heat (weather was exceptionally hot up-to 45C, otherwise the house would have been self cooling, apparently dated back to 1660). She provided simple freshly cooked breakfast with local homemade jams and honey. Real feeling of being away from the pressures of modern life in a rural village.
Cons: Quite difficult to find, could do with much better directions. Would not be easy for anyone with mobility difficulties.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere in this 17th century building was amazing! The location is only a few steps from the main square. The host Dany was so welcoming and nice and did everything for us to make us feel confortable! She knows so many palces to visit and also booked us a table at the local festivities! Her homemade breakfasts with delicious jams were excellent! It really was like staying with a family friend. Would love to go back there again someday. She an artist as well and you can enjoy some of her beautiful art pieces on display in the house.
Cons: The missing ac was not a problem for us, as we appreciated this old house and it’s atmosphere (and there was a fan anyway.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house from 1660 with a lot of character was very close to the beautiful village centre. The room we had was decorated with traditional furniture of high quality. The landlady Dany was excellent, giving good recommendations and serving a great home made breakfast. Really recommended.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved that it felt like I was staying with family with so much care and attention to detail. Reminded me so much of staying at my grandmothers. Gorgeous breakfast with homemade yoghurt and preserves and Dany cooking me a boiled egg to perfection everyday . I felt spoiled .
Cons: Parking in the old town can be a challenge but not much you can do about that when you are staying in a place that is 500 years plus old .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely home-made jam! Dany is very hospitable and knowledgeable about Cotignac and the surrounding areas. She went out of her way to help us get around and was very kind.
Cons: Everything was great!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host, Dany, was a delight! She takes great pride in sharing her beautiful home with guests. She prepared a beautiful breakfast for us and helped with all our questions and concerns. I hope to return again some day and will stay here again! Merci Dany!
Overview Reviews
This simple hotel is in Brignoles. Guests will enjoy a peaceful and calm stay at Clos de l'Ours as it counts with a total of 6 bedrooms. This is not a pet-friendly establishment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were wonderful, we stayed here with our family before our wedding which was nearby. They were just lovely to us, the rooms were beautiful, the breakfast was wonderful and location was great. I would recommend renting a car while you are in cotignac as it is too dangerous to walk into town and the taxi is very expensive.
7.9 Good
Pros: Vineyard views, v friendly welcome, room comfortable. Good breakfast in interesting surrounds - part of owners accommodation.
Cons: Nowhere to sit to chat with friends other than an outside ‘room’ which was very basic, open and cold as it was bad weather. The breakfast room was lovely but only available for guests at breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Most comfortable bed I have ever tried. Best 2 nights sleep. Staff were so welcoming and helpful
Cons: No food served in hotel apart from breakfast. I would recommend hiring a car as taxis expensive. Nearest village 5km away so easy to get to restaurants or shops for food and drink.

Pros: The breakfast was perfect, fresh produce with many options. We chose the property for its location, and it was exactly as described.
Cons: We checked out of our rooms on time but were asked to leave the property as they were expecting new guests. This was a shame as It was a beautiful day and we would have liked to stay around the pool.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The place is a little piece of history, very rustic and a brilliant place to stay. It’s very close to the center of Cotignac. Breakfast is simple, but it’s all we needed!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The B&B is authentically old and quite charming. Our host was very welcoming. Great location for walking to town and free street parking not a problem. We had a great stay.
4.6 Okay
Cons: This was the most unwelcoming hotel we have ever stayed in. The owner was there (ocassionally) - he appeared only at breakfast. The place was very austere. The breakfast was horrendous - one croissant each and a piece of bread - four pats of butter (which we had to ask for) - a small saucer of jam, orange juice and a coffee! That was it!! The tap in the bathroom was running non-stop - we did tell the owner and he said he had someone coming to repair it but that didn't happen over the four days we were there which was so annoying. The four poster bed was OK - the linen was awful and only one pillow. The curtains/drapes around the bed - one was tied back with an electric cable and the other we had to wedge behind the headboard which didn't hold. There was no lock on our bedroom door so no safety. The shutters did not close properly. The fan in the bedroom made a terrible noise and the electrics were suspect. No tea or coffee making in the room and when a lady greeted us (who we never saw again) she never offered us a cup of tea or coffee after our long journey despite the fact that we told her we were delayed and very upset as we had lost our cases and were due to attend a wedding the following day. Fortunately our cases did arrive a few hours before the wedding. All in all it was a terrible experience - one not to be repeated. Must say we went for Dinner to Le Mas de Cotnignac ,where our Family were staying, and it was absolutely amazing and at the same price too. This must qualify for 10 stars!! Full breakfasts, beautiful beds and linen, outdoor swimming pool, very hospitable hosts and only 5 minutes away, but, unfortunately, they were fully booked with the rest of our Family. In our opinion Maison Gonzagues should certainly NOT be recommended on "booking.com" or anywhere else for that matter!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was ideal as it was easy to find
Cons: The two flights of stairs for my aged parents
10.0 Excellent
