The party night
The reception staff
Excellent facilities for children. Big country is great.
Meal average but you don't go to Crieff for the culinary experience.
The hotel grounds are extremely well kept there are some lovely walks near by .
We have been visiting for 20 plus years . However the last couple of visits things have dramatically changed and not for the good .The hotel lacks the personality and charm it had in recent years it’s a shell of its former self and feels soulless. The personal touch has gone and it appears to be a question of cramming in as many people as possible. It’s apparent that they are cutting corners . The room we booked was sold as an executive room £139 per night including breakfast. Which is cheap in my opinion. However the moral of the story is that you get what you pay for and in this case what we got was a room that was worthy of 2 stars it really was that bad . Dated decor chipped and worn furnishings which were stained and marked ( no amount of cleaning can fix that ) they need to be replaced. Dirty bed side tables . Extremely basic that of a £60 a night travel lodge . We were staying for one night checking in at 3 did not accept the first room 207 as it was tiny , dingy and looked on to the car park ( what’s not to love ) we were moved to 260 which was larger as the executive rooms are said to be by this time it was 4 o’clock we were tired and accepted the room despite being extremely disappointed. We complained they offered to move us again we refused. We are staying for 1 night having to move rooms 3 times is beyond unacceptable! We were told by the manager who was extremely off hand that she accepts not all of the executive rooms are of the same standard? And they recognise that the furniture is shabby . We why are you selling them to people? Knowing they are far below what anyone would accept from a 4 star hotel. It was also commented that you don’t spend much time in the room ! Well that’s ok then . I’m afraid the room is what we are paying for anything else in the hotel is chargeable and many people actually do spend time in the room . We were given a £20 refund which was frankly insulting. It was clear that the manager just wanted rid of us .
Leisure facilities and the hotel grounds with stunning scenery and walks. Very family orientated hotel with lots of outdoor and indoor activities for all ages, including family disco. Lovely ambience in bar/restaurant areas with relaxing piped music. Great breakfast, loads of choices .
No lift access to the part of hotel where our bedroom was. The 2 flights of stairs would not suit people who find stairs difficult. Worth checking when booking room.
