Casa Leone is a fantastic boutique hotel in a setting with great views of the picturesque Venetian port of Chania. We were made just so welcome from the moment we arrived and this continued throughout our stay. The owner Nikos, supported by Antonia and Maria were all fabulous looking after our every need with information provided on things to see, restaurants etc. There was a delicious breakfast served each morning in the main reception room with home cooked pastries from Nikos' wife - a highlight. Our room overlooking the courtyard was very spacious and peaceful and we would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
I enjoyed the clean room and the service I received at Imeros. Everything is withing walking distance of the town.
The host were great hope to see them again during my next vacation to Hellas. None.
Perfect location the old town was on the doorstep, lovely surroundings, the owners were so friendly, The room was simple yet perfect for are requirements a trip for me my sister & mother on a budget. I would most definitely go to Chania again & would try to stop in Imeros again. suitable for couples, or friends wanting to explore the old town/new town, it only took 15 mins to get to the beach too. We found all the best restaurants were so close to were we were staying (not the ones around the port) one of my favourite holidays an amazing place. no it was perfect, the pictures on the page were exactly the same as the room.
Situation: very near the old harbour and many good restuarants and little shops No lift (we were on 2nd floor & had heavy suitcases), no reception, no breakfast, no balcony.
location is near chania port. walking distance within the old town. well chania is relatively small. the location of the hotel in their website or even in booking.com should state it is in chania port or say it is behind starbucks in chania port. i had a hard time looking for the place even the greek cab driver from the airport doesn't know the street name. he only knows the landmark as old chania port
good location large room this rooms for rent are not suitable for people with kids they don't have non baby cod no water heater lot of stairs to get at the room only shower no certain risk for accidents
- Great position near the harbor and the center of old town - Friendly staff - It would have been nicer if the bathroom whould have had a shower curtain.
Very clean rooms and excellent location right in the heart of the old town. Shopping and great restaurants literally on your doorstep! There is a roof terrace with a nice view and for €55 per night in peak season (mid August) it was very reasonable. No shower curtain so bathroom "floods"; the double bed was a small double and therefore a squeeze for two people.
It's in the historical center, in one of the turistic pedestrian narrow street. The rooms are recently renewed and air conditioning was working. The reception is in one of the little shops, so opens at 10am and closes at 12 pm. The receptionists were kind and helpfull. Very difficult to park in the centre. we had some problems with the shower which was without curtain and so there was always a lot of water on the floor.
The owner is very nice, makes you feel comfortable.great location, your right in the center.
new and nice. in the center. poor breakfast
It was a very good stay. Friendly staff, big and clean rooms, and very close to the city center. It is worth the money by far.
The hotel is near to the bus station as well as the old port. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was bright and clean and had a flat panel lcd tv.
The hotel was excellent in all respects. Clean, Friendly, Cheap. Good Breakfast. Location is fantastic. Between new town and old venetian quarters; 5 minutes from the bus station and the fabulous market. It is a family run hotel and our hosts were really helpful. They suggested a tour for us to hike through the Samaria Gorge. It was as cheap as doing it ourselves and much more satisfactory. The rooms are not huge but are lovely, bathrooms fine and air conditioning excellent! Another great help is that there is a huge sign on the top of the hotel, visible from the big town market. It helped me find my way twice. Another big advantage is its price - so cheap for the quality.
Amazing value for money. I am a frequent traveler, and I am not exaggerating in saying that it is such a rarity to enjoy a hotel stay that much! The hotel is brand new, clean and comfortable. The staff was absolutely fantastic, beyond the usual Greek hospitality. There was 24 hour reception service, and the hotel is conveniently located in the center of Chania. Overall, at this price, I am sure there is no better place to stay in that area, and I look forward to visiting again. Parking is an issue, but this is a general problem in the entire city. There is no wireless connection, but I am sure the staff will work on that pretty soon.
Since,it's Family run business. The people are very friendly. Absolutely fantastics Nothing very negative but I just want to specify that the water was spilling over from shower space. The floor had a different look but it has unforuntately created some gaps through which the water flows.
Hotel is easy to reach and has enough parking space. Rooms are medium sized, comfortable enough (we spent most of the time on the beaches) and with modest but clean bathrooms. Staff and the family that runs the hotel are friendly, helpful and forthcoming. Although not on the beach, it has a very nice view. The closest beach (±200m) is one of the best in the area (sand beach with clean sea and lot of beach bars and restaurants)
Folia was a great location;close to the beach and to Chania-buses were convenient if no car...room was very clean-the view was gorgeous...Yiannis was a very gracious and helpful host.
absolutelya most charming, familyowned hotel The owners are VERY kind and helpful! GREAT value for the money. We'lldefinitely come back...
It had a small kitchen and a small balcony. It was good to have breakfast everyday and see the beach. Rooms are simple and clean with the basic needs.
Helpful staff, proximity to the beach and main street, good internet service My room had unusually designed beds close to the wall; hurt my leg couple of times during sleep..
We used the room as a base for travelling around west crete, it is in a perfect position for that. It is close to supermarkets and restaurants. It was clean and tidy and had most things we needed. The kitchen space was small and not really adequate for cooking a meal, although it was fine for breakfasts. The room was quite small for the two of us, despite it being a 3 person room. However this was fine as we used it only for sleeping in!
Wonderful family-owned, well-located, cosy and nice hotel designed in Crete style. Owners and staff were polite and friendly - I felt like if I was at home :) Impressions from photos are absolutelly the same like in reality just add to it inimitable smell of Crete, the chirping of cacadas, fragrance of flowers and ... perfect cappuccino&yogurt with great Crete honey for breakfast - m-mmm ))) Thank you Giannis, Nikos and the big boss Isidora - my best regards and best wishes to you! )))) Hope to see you again!
We had a very nice stay at Folia Hotel due to the sympathetic and friendly staff/owners, the seaview, the nice although small pool, the exceptional cleanliness, the vacant sunbeds, the nice garden and the newly painted buildings. The beds were quite hard, and the surroundings were imperfect because in some places, the town of Agia Marina is quite messy. But we got used to it.
Very helpfull and friendly staff. Perfect location, near the sea, 10 minutes up to the harbour and business centre with shopping area. We had seaview room so you could hear the waves in the night, it was really great! We really enjoyed our holidays!
The location is excellent. In front of a beach. If you get a room with a view, you can see fabulous sunsets
Excellent location for beach, great view. The staff were ignorant and unhelpful. The hotel bar discouraged visitors, The bathroom was disgrace, toilet seat falling off, no shower hook, only one small dim light for shaving, mould on shower curtain. No where to store cases. Not enough drawer space
Location, across the street from the beach. The sewage system was very poor, particularly in the toilette. The rooms were not done on Sundays. An extra 3% was charged when paying with a credit card.
Firendly staff, great location in front of nice sandy beach and short walk into old town Breakfast was marginal, but typical for this class of hotel; not a big issue as other options are available very close
I loved the hotel - it was right across the road from a lovely beach, great view of the coast, islands and mountains. 20mins walk along the coast path to the Old Harbour and a bus stop 50yds away to gat into town. Loads of good quality tavernas along the front and a couple of mini- markets - one next door and one about 100yds away. a bar right next door to the hotel - great!!!! The Manager/Owner (not sure which) was very helpful and always pleasant and friendly and the other staff were great - nothing too much trouble and clean linen every other day. I would definately stay here again and recommend it to my friends. Only 1 thing which was not the fault of the hotel - but a couple of buildings away there was a German Shepherd dog that was roaming on the roof and was never taken for walks or allowed in the house this meant that it was barking night and day at anything that moved!!!!! Also on Friday evenings they have live music in the bar and it does not seem to finish until 1.30'ish Sat morning and I was unfortunate to have a room above the back of the bar!!
Was offered a room with a great view of the beach and the sea. The room had everything needed such as balcony, A/C, TV and fridge. Very helpful reception staff. Walking distance (15 minutes) to the centre. Starting to show some signs of age but still good value for money..
I liked the decor of the hotel and the hotel staff. It was withinh easy walking of the old town
It was right by the beach and a good reataurant. It needs a serious makeover, but has nice pictures on the walls.
the only thing i liked about Danaos is the view from the room. From the rooms with sea view the sunset is magnificent. change beds, furniture and all plumbing...
The owner Hari Kurmulis It's very cool man and you can ask him about everything....The place is in a strategic position to visit Chania (7 km) and to go in Balos and Falasarna...There's a good restaurant close the studio. Rooms are clean and very large.
The owner and the people there are wonderful. A good place for relax and/or make friends. Moreover, the best way to learn and enjoy the Cretan way of life!
I liked swimming pool and It is near the center. The kitchen furniture weren't clean enough
I appreciated the nice and helpful staff; the pool was nice. It is a quite place not too far from the beaches. The bathroom was not so nice.
Everything! The structure, the place and above all the kindness of the owner and his raki.
The owner (Mr Kurmulis) is a very nice person always ready to help and provide informations about the most amazing places of the island.
I loved staying at Kurmulis. It is a delightful and quiet appartment complex, small, very clean and very pretty and quiet and in an ideal location to explore all of Crete. Hari, the owner, is charming, knowledgeable and very helpful.
nice welcome no view, bathroom was not 100% clean
We chose this place because of the low price. We did not use the pool but it looked clean and nice. There is nothing wrong with the place but it is not great either. I would consider using it again because of the low price. On the map it looks like the place is right next to the beach, but it is not. It is at least a 5 minutes walk away and a bit difficult to find.
The owner is lovely and added to our experience. He was very accomodating and welcoming. He went to a lot of effort and gave us great advice on where to go for food and beaches! We will definiately return!
i did enjoy the large room that i had and the fact that it is close to the center of the city i would prefer to have shutter on the window because the curtains did not block entirely the morning sun but for someone who wakes up early that won't be a problem
The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room looked out over the adjacent park and was not overlooked. There was parking under the hotel for small cars. Breakfast was very good. Location in the centre of Chania was perfect.
We liked the location (near downtown) and the quiet environment. We did not like a) the lack of a real air conditioning system ( we could not sleep for two nights and, eventually, moved to another hotel) b) the dated furniture c) the lack of adequate light in the room (they seem to save money even on the light bulbs...)
The central position in Chania town, The hotel is luxurious and clean. The buffet breakfast is various and fresh. And th staff is kind, professional and helpfull
Smallish but well appointed room with balcony (not mentioned in booking literature) overlooking a park. Central location, ten minutes walk to harbour. Some parking under the hotel. Air con was switched off overnight
very expensive for its category 3star, it needs redecoration, the mini bar of the room is too expensive, for example a 50ml bottle of water costs 1,50 euros when u can find it outside 0,40 - 0,50 euros decoration, prices.
The Wifi was intermittent at best. No pool The A/C was cool at best...not cold at all The parking garage can't accommodate any larger than a "small" compact car (i.e. Smart car, Mini Cooper)
The family running the hotel is extremely friendly and provides excellent service. They are very concerned about the comfortability of the guests and are ever willing and ready to offer recommendations about sights, beaches and restaurants. Additionally, the breakfast is a sumptuous spread with good quality food, certainly the best breakfast I've had during my stay in Greece. No complaints. Certainly the friendliest hotel during my stay in Greece.
friendly staff, clean rooms, excellent breakfast, hospitality tiny WC, no WiFi in my room, no parking, poor lighting
Family owned hotel, very nice staff. Excellent breakfast!!!
people running the hotel are unbelievably friendly, helpful, always smiling and giving their best to all guests. Hotel is positioned in excellent spot for walks in old city and old port. Breakfast always a pleasant surprise, with local specialties. the bathroom of the room was remarkably small, but the overall experience surpassed this small detail in our wonderful journey
breakfast was great, nikos was very helpful and saw to all our needs as we travelled with a baby . stairs !
The service was impeccable. Nikos treated us like his own family. The bathroom is a bit small and lacks a shower curtain.
There are different buildings belonging to the Ifigenia in the old city of Chania. Our Ifigenia IV was direct at the nicest street in the old city of romantic Chania. Because we want to come back we visited some other rooms with view over the port. Very nice! We will book it again!
Very good location and wonderful view . But room was very noisy at night , on top of music room . Hotel staff attempted to accommodate our difficulty by moving us to a quite room in another building (though no harbor view) . Overall good experience.
The location was great. The reception staff member we dealt with was friendly and helpful. The hotel needs some renovation, for example the place could be spruced up and some furniture replaced. Bed was creaky, bathroom shower too small. Room had a/c but the window didnt close properly because it was old and warped.
Most important is the view! Amazing! Like a dream. What about the hospitality? Very friendly -I think local- people. Offering many extras in the room and a very pleasant smile and full of willingness to help on everything. I am very strange as a person but for that level of hotel I couldn't find any disadvantage. I would definitely recommend Ifigenia.
The location of the hotel was perfect and the room was very big for that price and these facilities......
We stayed at "Captain Vasilis" rooms, right in frond of the Old Harbour of Chania. Very romantic atmosphere, excellent decoration, old-ottoman style renovated building, clean and comfortable. Professional staff, helpfull and friendly. We would definately go back!
It is very near to the port and city center Ifigenia Traditional Rooms seams to be comprised of three separate buildings. We stayed at building number 3, which was a very old and poorly preserved. The room was smelly and the bathroom was awful too. The room had two old, very low quality doors(one permanently locked) with dimmed glass and with no curtains... A wreck wardrobe, on which there was a TV, was trembling by just walking by it. Inside there was a pile of dirty blankets. The double bed was two singles screwed together with metal stripes...
The room we booked was just as described. Lovely view with large balcony overlooking the harbour. Music until 4.30 A.m on Saturday night.
Horrible!!!....very bad treatment, no hot water, no clening...stay away!
I love nearly every aspect of my time here, the beach really is just on the front of this property, the garden is great and catches the sun nicely, the bedrooms are cleaned everyday and are super smart and modern the beds are very cosy also, my view was amazing and the place was super quiet, the lady who lives downstairs who was the owners mother was a really lovely lady, I wished I could chat to her as I'm sure she would have told me many stories, but she didn't speak English, the area is fine plenty of pubs and places to eat if that's what u like, the bus service is fantastic runs constantly every 10 mins and goes to the city or all the way down the entire coast which is exactly what a family or single person would like, the buses are super cheap and everyone seems to speak english, as from Crete, Crete is stunning.. Such a loving vibe.. Ok so here's what I found hard, its nothing major I'm sure but for me its a deal breaker, there wasn't a cooker only a one hobbed little camping stove, I like to cook on my holidays it keeps the cost down and in general I like my own cooking better than tavaners, there wasn't a toaster either, its the simple things I missed on my stay.. And that's all everything else here is great.. This is just my own preference pls dont let it put u off this place is great and I will revisit..
Very quiet. The owners very sympathic.
Nice quiet place, 5 min away from the seaside up the hill (but it's no problem), 10 min away from the sandy beach. Tasty breakfast. Rather big & deep pool. There is a separate one for the children. Amiable, helpful staff. Free wi-fi on the territory. It was a bit hard to find the hotel. A sign on the main road would be helpful.
The apartment complex provided clean and adequate facilites. The view from our spacious balcony was outstanding and a nice plus to not have an additional charge for a/c (as many apts in the area charge). Breakfast was enjoyed outdoors on a lovely terrace and always serviced by the apartment owners with a smile and friendly conversation. None
On sunday we got a free mezzes meal, only the drinks we had to pay. Qaulity and quantity was very good and the sphere with all the geuasts was nice on the roof of the mini market shop.'The family was friendly. For famillies with little children its a good place with the swimming pool. The breakfast was continental. The bread was counted, like the small peaces of cheese and ham: three pieces bread per person, for me too less. Any way, it was a complete breakfast inclusive jus and Greek yoghurt (light). The coffee had not a nice taste, still I drank it every day. Was it made with not bottled water?
That the owners were like family, and the relaxed quiet location ,views, wonderful No paper in loo
Friendly atmosphere, nice hosts and very picturesque and nice facility as well as good beaches, not large ones but on our opinion better than others we saw around Crete shore the schedule of room and linen maintenance should be adjusted, to make it done not on same weekdays but depends what was checkin - checkout date
Clean room with big balcony and beautiful view. Very friendly owners. Excellent breakfast served outside by the pool. Good beach and nice restaurants within walking distance. Quiet location along the small road. Credit card fee (2 % ) added to the room price.
Silence, donkey trip, nice people N/A
Staff, breakfasts, pool were all excellent. Location was a little far from the beach and parking was a little difficult.
the rooms were clean.nice location an view We and our friends (4 people) prefer a room with better sea view.
Beautiful area, very friendly staff. I did not feel like a stranger, I felt like home. the hotel has a traditional cretan style decoration and the gardens are beautifull. the beach is 3 minutes walk and it is really nice and well-organized. the pool has a great view in the afternoon as you see the sun entering the water.
