The wonderfull place the comfortable pools. The gardens like a nature forest.
Good pool, nice location to explore the chania area and wester crete. though one must have a car. The brakfeast times, froma 8 to 10 are note vacation friendly.
Excellent service, fully eguipped double room, huge buffet breakfast, very nice surroundings, great location near the town of Chania but not too close to the extremely busy road by the sea. Ping-pong table is advertised but was not available. No real explanation given.
Excellent location, very nice surrounding area, very friendly and helpfull staff, very spacious room. One is tempted to stay in the resort complex all day. Our suite with a private pool felt smelt rather musty on the fisrt night, as though it hadn't been aired for several days. Also, beware that a private pool doesn't entail total privacy! Strangely enough, the suite did not include cooking facilities like our 'normal' double room in which we also stayed.
Small establishment, suitable for children, well managed, good location, peaceful, beach, shops and restaurants nearby within a walking distance, friendly host, nice view, friendly and helpful staff.
Very nice and clean hotel with good facilities. Two room apartment: kitchen (including filter coffee maker!!!!) and bedroom. Also very nice balkony. Amazing swimming pool around which you can connect to the hotel's wifi network free of charge. Nice location (5km away from Chania) and very close to the beach (a really nice sandy beach). Has its own parking area (under trees) so guests with cars need not worry about parking. About 10' away from the East-West highway so it is also on a nice location to use this hotel as base for one day trips in Western Crete. Huge plus is the hotel manager (Giorgos) who was very helpful and provided a lot of information on places to visit, how to get there and (very important) where to eat.HIGHLY Recommended Lack of showercurtain
We spend a lovely week at Argo's in late August. The location of the hotel in peaceful surroundings, close to the beach and Chania was perfect for us. After a day of exploring the island, it was great to come home and relax at the pool site in the lovely garden. Argos's really gave us value for money. We especially enjoyed the company and hospitality of the owner and his family. Try the homemade moussaka.
we came very late at night and the owner came to peek us up from the main road. rooms are very very clean and welcoming, very friendly stuff, we had a pleasent time at the argo hotel!
We had an excellent experience: the hotel is in a quiet location, close to the beach, restaurants, and supermarkets, and not too far from Chania. The building is new and everything in the rooms was spotless. The best part were the owners - they were personable, always ready to help, and very knowledgeable about the area. Their recommendations were very much appreciated. This is certainly not mission critical - but a different coffee maker? ;)
Excellent location for quiet relaxing holiday. Staff were friendly & efficient. Rooms well equiped especially for Greece. Road leading up to appartments from the main road was quite steep. Not recommended for infirm guests.
This hotel is very well placed to get the best of everything - it is only 4 - 5 km outside of Chania Town (this is a walkable distance) and it also benefits being only about 200 metres from the coastline (with some lovely beaches in the direction of Chania)! The hotel is run by a family and they are really pleasant and approachable and are easy to find around the apartment complex. Facilities are excellent there and everything is so well maintained and clean. Overall this accomodation was exellent and I would definately recommend to family and friends. We found the hotel hard to find as we drove oursselves from the airport (perhaps a sign with "Argo Apartments" off the main road would be helpful.as Makedonomahon Street is not signed off the main road).
Very friendly and kind staff, clean and spacious rooms, excellent value for money choice, near to Chania and the beaches Absolute nothing! I think it was the right choice for some days in summer Chania.
It was a good base for a family with older kids. Very peaceful, with a pleasant pool. The family who ran it were very helpful and friendly. A short walk to the beach, and to the bus stop for either Chania or towns to the west. Several reasonable restaurants nearby.
Elegant and relaxing overall architecture and layout, well looked after pool/garden, friendly staff, quiet location although close to main road. Room basic but comfortable. Since no breakfast is served I would strongly recommend more utensils in kitchenette like a toaster and cofeemaker. Perhaps linen change and cleaning frequency, although adequate, could be more frequent.
Nice room, nicely decorated with view of the swimming pool. Large swimmingpool with nice bar. We were not treated very nicely when the hotel had made a mistake and had double-booked our room. Everything was sorted out in the end, but the owners attitude left us with an uncomfortable feeling.
Lack of adequate parking places for the privately owned vehicles of hotel's residents.
Staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Parking is difficult.
Nice hotel. Good location. Just one - If you like to sleep with open window at night - forget it (very noisy street). Ask for backyard room.
the staff was very friendly, very helpful always smiling..excellent breakfast buffet with good selection. the wireless internet was advertised on Bookings as being free, but i had to pay for it....alsowhen i asked for it they lady gave me the 120 min.which was which was 90 min..i did not know it was a choice. of 30 min. increments.i was never told i had to pay til checkout.
The hotel was nicely renovated and in very good overall condition, the breakfast buffet was very good, offered non-smoking rooms, good air conditioning, centrally located The advertised free parking was not really available or generally too full (but parking on street was ok); we had an early arrival (7am) but did not get a room until 12pm - maybe difficult booking sitation at hotel
in the heart of the city internet
The staff and the easy access to the town The beds were very old and very uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on the floor. The mattress had to have been as old as the hotel was.
Centrally located, right across the markt. 15 min walk to KTEL bus station. 10 min to harbor or Turkish old neighborhood. Resourceful staff. Safe large enough for a small lap top. Room with a partial view of the old neighborhood. Sound proof room, quiet. Room looks old, low quality sheet, very firm bed.
Good internet access. Nice and quiet.
Staff was very courteous and helpful, rooms were well maintained and clean, bed was very comfortable, breakfast buffet had many choices to choose from, and location was excellent - very close to the waterfront, restaurants, shopping, taxi stand, etc... And price was very reasonable. Not much parking available if you rent a car, and bathtubs are a little small, even to take a shower.
Beautiful pool & outdoor space , extensive breakfast, very nice view of the water. Very clean. Nice staff. Rooms were a bit dated in decor & instead of one large bed for two people it was two smaller beds right next to each other. Not my favorite, but it's pretty common in Europe.
Very nice hotel! Everything exellent.....Try it! None
Buffet breakfast was awesome
This hotel was amazing. The view from the pool chair was luxurious. The food and beverages were mouth watering. The staff was fun, friendly and professional. The hotel itself is one of the nicest I've stayed in. When they describe a "couch bed" they really just mean you are sleeping on the couch, it is in no way a bed. The town and surroundings are a bit run down but the beach is nice.
Helpful staff, good location, comfortable bed
Good location, friendly staff, nice hotel
A nice stop over for low budget travellers, clean rooms and nice staff so if you travell on low budget good rooms they do their best for breakfast with home made food but just a breakfast corner and real coffee would be nice
Beautiful building in a beautiful location. Breakfast buffet was great and served in a lovely courtyard which was also perfect for sitting out in at all times of day. Room was lovely, split level with a nice balcony. Weather in early July was perfect. Bathroom was a little small and dark, but down to the nature of the building.
Helpful staff, great location and nice surroundings The rooms are a little outdated but overall comfortable
Service, staff and beauty Perfect
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Common areas are beautiful.
I appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, excellent information giving and delicious, home cooked breakfasts. Room a bit dusty in certain areas, shower arrangement not very good.
Hotel is very charming with excellant room accommodations. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Staff was very willing to recommend tours, restaurants, and shopping based on your desires. We found them to be right on. We liked it so much we stayed an extra 3rd night. Great location for shopping and eating. No Negatives. Very nice hotel.
The room was small and oddly designed, with a very dingy bathroom.
nice hotel resort, nice pools, nice breakfast and friendly staf some staf at the reception should be trained more and
the staff is the best at the restaurant!!! Manolis and Maria are great people!!!
Nice hotel, by the beach. Located in Platanias, one of the most cosmopolitan places in Chania, Crete.
The Scenery fron the hotel was wonderful. having breakfast, near the pool was lovely, the pool was great, the rooms comfortable, and the bus into the old town started at the hotel gate No 23. Trying to walk up the very steep entrance way after a night of drinking the local whine
Good quality hotel, lovely view, decent service, good room and bathroom. Hotel food was good for a buffet. Convenient for getting to beaches and into Chania, which is a lovely town. Twin beds rather than double (with separate covers) - not a big deal but a bit inconvenient even when pushed together. Also, we were staying near end of season so some things were winding down (like restaurant opening times). But very good overall.
nice view, good breakfast, nice hotel.
Location/ Ambiance / Pool Area/ Night entertainment/ Drinks/ Relaxing/ Great for Kids
Good location and view. Prompt room service. Clean The main comment is that this hotel is not really a 5 star hotel rather it is a good 3 star / poor 4 Star hotel. Another point we did not like was that they did not read our request (we were honeymooning and requested to be in the Panorama blue section which is supposedly good). We got no upgrade or any special treatment because of our honeymoon in contrast to the other 2 hotels we stayed. We didn't like the breakfast time which was till 9:30, which was way too early for vacations, meaning that there was a lot of people trying to have breakfast between 9:00 - 9:30 with not enough tables to sit !!! The hotel staff was also rude on occasions. The rate was too high for what it was offered
Very nice hotel with a great pool area and a perfect view. Close to Chania town.
Very good pool, comfortable lounge and pleasant restaurant areas. The beds are too hard.
Breackfast was acceptable. Awful hotel, the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in, we got no sleep the whole night and we were refused a refund even thoiugh we did not stay the second night. The hotel is not a five star maybe a two star at most.
the location of the hotel is good. the pools in the hotel is just great!!! the view of both sea view room and pool are really stunning. The food is awful!!!! and the rooms are really old, no comfortable at all. like three stars! the service of hotel staff is just ok.
Free upgrade to executive floor - amazing semiprivate pool!! Little flexibility with timetables - hot food not served in the pool at 4:03 pm when the official time finished at 4:00 pm
Location. It is located in a nice area of town.Room was very clean.Young man in front desk was very kind. Breakfast was meager. Lady was stressed by the fact that I requested fruits with it.Hotel advertises free parking, when in reality there is no way to get a car to that part of town; I had to leave my rental car in a paid parking 4 blocks from the hotel
It may not be on the waterfront, but it's very walkable from there. Modern, great rooms, clean, great staff, good bar and café. Just an all around great place to stay!
Placed right in the centre of Chania close to the port and all of the excellet eating places and shops and close to the market I will always stay here on my trips to Loutro or other points in Crete as it is also convenient for Chania Airpport
This hotel is located on the quieter side of the harbor. Our balcony provided a nice place to relax, enjoy the breeze, and look over the harbor and street activity. It is an easy walk to the rest of the old town and numerous restaurants. Customer service was great. The staff spoke English, provided an early breakfast since we had an early bus trip to the gorge, called taxis, sold stamps, and laundry prices were reasonable for a hotel. The hotel provides a big breakfast buffet with fresh orange juice. You could get English news on the TV. The room itself was a bit small and drab, but clean. The beds were hard like most hotels in Greece. While the hotel is in a quiet area of the harbor, there was a fair amount of background noise (elevators, doors, etc) from the hotel itself.
Right on the waterfront in Chania, near plenty of restaurants, maritime museum and "old town centre", this is a great spot and will recommend to all our friends. Special mention due to the little lassie on reception (pregnant) who was an absolute gem. Management (listen up) she deserves a raise !! Car parking can be a bit problematic, and vehicular access generally not great- but this is also an advantage reducing traffic along the beautiful waterfront !!
The receptionist was very helpful and she recommended a lovely local style restaurant nearby with excellent food. The rooms and the bathrooms were very small, the beds were hard, the pillows were awful and it was noisy. Value for money was poor. Breakfast was below average.
location, service a bit expensive
The staff were all helpful and friendly. The location is very good indeed. The room we had was very basic and small. Since our last visit, five years ago, provision for breakfast has declined somewhat.
The hotel is comfortable, though the shower room was small. It is well situated, being right on the harbour but not in a noisy part of it.It has an excellent and good value restaurant right beside it. Breakfasts were good, particularly the generous helpings of fresh orange juice from an orange squashing machine. I was surprised that the manager should come into our room and rifle through my wife's suitcase looking for a bag that he mistakenly thought he should not have left in our room on behalf of the asssociation whose AGM we were attending.
its location and the view from the rooms
Excellent location, the view from the balcony was incredible! Good breakfasts which can be eaten outside on the harbour front, a small modern bar with a lovely garden terrace. I go regularly to Chania and will use this hotel again. The rooms had limited storage space but no problem for one or two night stays.
Position of hotel Would have preferrd room overlooking harbour
location was alright 1 staff was extremely rude. 1 was ok, and 1 was helpful. I lost my luggage and they were not very sympathetic.
A staff was really friendly and great. The location was perfect, it's on the center and just in front of the old town, close to the shops and the sea. Hotel facilities were absolutely old, and the my room door has leak on the upside also the bed was too old to say it's cozy. little bit uncomfortable.
Clean, good place Value for Money
Helpful and friendly staff, very good location and not expensive small bathroom, need to be cleaner.
It had excellent view and it is in the centre of the town breakfast
Friendly and efficient staff, very convenient central location. This was a return visit because of the staff and location. The room to the street was loud, hot from the sun. The AC made only noise but didn't cool or even ventilate. In the past I had a back room which was much better but it wasn't available.
good value for money, convenient location (close to old town, bus station), clean rooms, friendly staff aircon did not work (but change of rooms was possible)
Arkadi Hotel was a bit disappointing -- I was expecting a nicer and more updated place than it was for the price. The facilities are very outdated and cheap, although it was clean. Our room facing the front of the hotel provided a view of the city and a side view of the harbor. The staff was very nice. We had wanted a double bed and got 2 twins instead, but the staff immediately cleaned the room next door which had 1 twin and 1 double for us. It is very conveniently located in Chania. It is close to the main bus terminal where there are buses to the rest of the island, and the bus to Souda Bay (ferry port) stops pretty much in front of the hotel. The hotel needs an upgrade for the price charged.
The location was good for a tourist. Hotel lacked atmosphere and parking could be a problem.
They acted on my request for room placement, Breakfast and locations were good. Staff very agreeable
The room was very small and the bathroom was even worse. The location is good but that is the only good thing about this hotel. I would never stay there again.
