7.5 Good
Pros: This is not a luxury place, but price quality wise, it's a nice and quite place, away from the confusion of the city but still near to the highway. The owners are very friendly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great folks. Great value. 3rd time staying there, so that should say it all. You have to pay cash for your stay, so make sure that is in your budget.
Cons: For a place that has "Breakfast" in the title, the very sweet woman doesn't know how to make an omelette. It's hard to complain at the price, and I adore these folks, but this is bare bones. the towels are scratchy the shower is suicide, but the room is cleaned everyday and the AC is cold. the other negative is that this place is better if you have a car - there is a restaurant within walking distance, but you have to cross a the PanAm highway to get there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly people...offered great local info.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The meals were excellent. Loads of fresh fruit, coffee-tea, juice, scrambled eggs, toast-jam... I don't speak Spanish well or Italian (the owners are from Italy). Eric the son who manages the property and is always there speaks english beautifully. Bruno the father is very handy and is always available to crack open one of the coconuts from the trees on the property for a quick drink. One can pay for dinners which were all top notch. Great salads, fish one night, pasta another, pizza etc..
Cons: Nothing except I'd say you do really need a car to get around quickly to explore .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hotel, friendly personal, excellent italy kitchen - spaggeti
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eric and Jessica were very nice and accommodating. There is a menu with Italian food. even though Jessica is Columbia she really knows how to cook pasta like a real Italian. Delicious!
Cons: All the Satty TV channels were Spanish, I would have liked English channel but no big deal because we were gone most of the day and night.

Pros: The hostel is really clean, calm and the room spacious for a family with kids. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They prepared a great dinner and the italien coffee in the morning is great.Tours can be organized close by.
Cons: No kitchen, even if owners provide a small heater ,pans and plates it would be more comfortable to have access to a kitchen
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A very warm-hearted family-run guesthouse, highly recommendable for budget-conscious backpackers and definitely the best place in David to get in touch with local people. Though surely no luxury, the rooms are nice and very clean and the overall place (including terrace and garden) is more than lovely! The hosts are caring (arranged for an outstanding whale watching safari and a memorable kayak tour across the mangroves). Our stay was pure pleasure and we felt sad when parting!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly, nice and helpful couple running this hostal, fine backyard with hamocks, good prize
Cons: There was no kitchen but they helped us to organize our meal
6.7 Good
Pros: The hostel is a quiet family-operated place with favourable outdoor ammenities. The breakfast is rather good and the staff are attentive to requests etc. There are no facilities for tea or coffee but the hosts will provide hot water (for a teabag etc) upon request.
Cons: The beds are supported on elevated tiled platforms which creates something of an OH&Saftety issue. One really must remember where on is of one is not going to break ones neck in the dead of night. The furniture in the room is rather Spartan.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We love this hostel! The hostel is owned and run by a very friendly Italian couple. They helped us with everything we needed, gave us great information on tours around the area and provided kitchen equipment for preparing our own food outside in the patio. We ordered breakfast and dinner at the hostel and were delighted by delicious meals. Thank you and best of luck for your own travel plans!!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice. The location is as close as you can get to the airport in David. Breakfast was good with a lot of options for dietary needs.
Cons: The air conditioner in our room never cooled the room and we were too tired to go downstairs to have it repaired. Our room faced the road so their was a lot of road noise. I expected more from a fairly new hotel
9.6 Excellent
Cons: friday night disco across the street, i got zero sleep until 3am
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location near the airport is excellent; good protected car parking and close to reception. Staff is very friendly.
Cons: Some of the room furnishings are beginning to deteriorate. They changed the seats near the bar; from relaxing comfort arm chairs to very tall and unstable chairs. The courtesy drink should apply to any drink the client wants.

Pros: Staff was great! They gave us complimentary drinks, a free water bottle and the complimentary breakfast was great.
Cons: The shower water never got hot, just stayed cool/warm

Pros: It was a nice older hotel. Only about a fifteen minute walk from the bus terminal. The breakfast which was included was very good.
Cons: The first room we were given the A/C didn’t work. The second room we were given had a hot water problem. Obviously a bad water heater element in the tank I could see out of our window. The headboard was tat a tat. Worn out material.

Pros: Clean room, perfect for a stop over in David.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean room beds and bathroom. Good staff.
Cons: The wifi sucks
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good location in the very city centre. Not too far from the bus terminal either. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk. Large rooms with good beds. Wifi worked very well.
Cons: Some rooms only have a very small window in one of the upper corners of one wall, which is not pleasant. Other rooms do have normal windows. Service at breakfast wasn't very well organized (not getting what we ordered of having to ask more than once) maybe because we were served by different people… But the food itself was good, which is the most important thing :-)
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was good for us
Cons: Parking

7.1 Good
Pros: We spent there only one night on our trip from Costa Rica to Panama City. For one night its good and cheap. The host was very friendly and helped us with everything. The hostel is close to the bus terminal, only 10 minutes to walk.
Cons: Its not a place to stay there long time. The wifi didn't worked in our room and the corridor to our room smelled moised. But the whole city is not very nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: For the price it was ok, the stuff was nice and the room was clean.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: On the morning we would hear like water running from the ceiling. And that made a lot of noise to wake up my wife.
7.9 Good
Pros: Kitchen was big and well-equipped. The hostel is quiet, we almost felt we were alone. AC in the room was nice. Staff were nice also (and from Montreal!) speaking 3 languages.
Cons: The location is not the nicest, but close to the bus station and market.
6.3 Good
Pros: Supermarket and some restaurants around, moderataly close to a bus terminal (however we took a taxi to catch a bus, that was bhjnot easy with big bags), nice parrots and dogs, pool (we did not try due to a rain). Private bathroom with hot shower. Felt safe (gate was locked all the time). Shared kitchen available.
Cons: The room was somehow clean but had a weird “wet and old” smell. That place had passed its best times (even towels). AC was super loud. When we turned that off, we could still hear equally loud AC from other rooms.
6.3 Good
Cons: Boooking really needs to have a better communications with hostals owner, some of them doesnt like when you get a good deal on rooms. I hate when you show up in place and they say " oh sorry that is not de price" " oh booking put the price too low " ... the question is why did you accept the reservation? ... at the end the added the taxes but when i asked for the receipt they didnt want me to have it.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was great. Not many noise from the city. Nice garden to relax.
Cons: The people don’t speak any English at all. The are not friendly. Not felt welcome. Pool is ok but needs inprovement.

Cons: When we arrived our room was next to a premises which was blasting music and we asked could we switch rooms which we could. The manager apologized also which was nice.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were only meant to stay one night and ended up staying four nights! A chilled hostel with a great hang out area that makes you feel like you’re in the jungle. The owner Greg and his staff Karolina & Ariel were so welcoming and helpful. Can’t recommend more!
5.4 Okay
Pros: The reception desk was friendly and the animals too.
Cons: When we got there we had booked the tree house which we found out was entirely in the open for mosquitos without nets. We had to pay extra to change rooms. Extremely rocking bunk beds, dirty utensils and kitchen.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a nice comfortable laid back hostel. If you are looking for fancy consider another option. I had a private room and it was clean with plenty of room. The shared bathrooms are basic and nice with good warm showers. Its a bit of a walk to most stuff but i dont think thats a negative.
Cons: N/A
4.0 Okay
Pros: The place was great and the beds were very comfy.
Cons: When I arrived they had given away my bed and i had to pay extra for a room that was available when all I wanted was the bed in a dorm that I had booked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved staying here! The pool was heavenly. And the whole vibe of the place is just awesome. I loved how close it is to a big grocery store. I would definitely stay here again!

Pros: Rita was a wonderful host
Cons: The place was a little dirty and the surrounding area didn’t seem overly safe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were given a 2-room suite with a comfy bed and private bathroom. Rita is an excellent hostess and cook and we enjoyed a great Panamanian dinner, then Israelí cuisine for breakfast. Rita and Mody bent over backwards to accommodate our needs.
Cons: We really have nothing to suggest for improvements, this was luxurious for panama!

Cons: All, is ugly place
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Bathrooms are clean, with good hot water. The hotel has two properties, so you might have to walk 1/2 block to the restaurant depending on where your room is, but it is no problem. Restaurant food is good.

Las Olas Resort - David - Building
13
8.1 Excellent (308 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Las Olas Resort in Palo Grande, you'll be on the beach and 20.3 mi (32.7 km) from Port of Pedregal. Featured amenities include laundry facilities and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location nice, breakfast tasty although small variety. No yogurt or cereal.....quite expensive for what you get.
Cons: The gardens are not maintained, the lights along the pathways don't work, air-con in the room very loud, no coffee facility in the room, dinner prices very expensive.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice views. Good AC. Pool was pleasant. Comfortable beds. Shower with HOT water.
Cons: Restaurant food was mediocre and a bit overpriced. Few nearby restaurants were slightly better value but only basic food. This is not a beach for swimming as there are strong riptides. WiFi was weak and didn’t work in the room at all.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Ocean front
Cons: Ocean is nearly useless, waves are so high that you cannot get into water. The hotel is far, the reception closes shortly after 10pm. Air conditioners are loud, like sleeping near a tractor. Furniture in the room is poor - table, chair, and thats all. There aren't even beach towels in the room. Make sure you have the food, restaurant here is unnecessarily expensive $30 per meal, while in David you can get very high quality and extremely tasty local food for about $6.On the road to hotel there usually is a police checkpoint, make sure to have your driver's license and pasdport
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and accommodating and kept the entire facility extremely clean. We arrived much earlier than the check in time and were able to store our luggage, eat breakfast in the dining room and utilize all the facilities. The room was comfortable if somewhat sparse, The food we ate in the dining room was excellent. We went on a fishing excursion one day and brought back red snapper, which the chef prepared perfectly for our dinner.
Cons: As has been stated before, it would have been nice to have a coffeemaker and small fridge in the room, but staff was so accommodating to anything we requested that it hardly mattered.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice setting on the beach. Grounds keep up. Staff very friendly. Pool was nice with swim up bar
Cons: Surf was very rough. Made it hard to get in and out of the ocean
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: (1) Met a couple local expats who were very nice and invited us to see their home. (2) Spectacular stars observed during several brief power outages.
Cons: Truly, there isn't enough space to list the negatives. Suffice to say, we paid for 2 nights; fled after one, and we still don't know where they've hidden the beach. In reality, Las Olas Beach Resort looks not at all like the glossy photos/brochures. Don't get fooled!
6.7 Good
Pros: The beach is really long, looks like a movie one!. The view from the veranda to the beach and surrounding areas is awesome. For me it felt like a place to stay 1 or 2 night’s, it’s the perfect place to finish your vacation’s. It’s a awesome place for pictures of the sunshine and sunrise. Even that the property was almost full, it never felt crowded, Instead feels like you have the place for ur own, until you go to the dinning area!, that’s where the people is and at the pool!.
Cons: There is too little information about the things you can or can’t do in the property. Prices for food are high if you just passing by. Mi door open only by the parking lot side104, the veranda side was for another key witch I did not have. The ocean is dangerous, and they don’t have baywatch around,( it’s a public beach). I would visit this place again anyways.
7.1 Good
Pros: The place was beautiful, rooms were clean, and the pool area was really nice, with padded lounge chairs & 2 pool areas. There was shade & sun to choose from.
Cons: The beds were hard, pillows flat, soap did not lather, and music TOO loud at the pool. Left early after asking them to decrease the loudness, but they were catering to the 3 young people, and not the 4 old people at the pool. If you want loud music, there are bars to go to.
Pacasa Hostel - David - Building
14
8.1 Excellent (153 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in David, PaCasa Hostel is within a 5-minute drive of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra Park and Parque de las Madres. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, laundry facilities, and a vending machine.
6.7 Good
Pros: It’s location is good given that it is a 10 minute walk from the bus stop but in a residential area so it’s not busy and noisy. There are a tonne of dogs which are real nice and playful! But even though they can enter the rooms, and do so often, you are not allowed to Pat them or play with them inside the rooms, you can only do this outside. Overall, good value for money.
Cons: A real shame that for a ‘hostel’ you cannot use the kitchen.. especially since food options in david are not exactly everyone’s preference.. the hostel feels more like a house that has two rooms with bunks in them, the outside space is nice for a communal area but the rest of the house is clearly full of belongings of the owners, and there is nowhere inside to really spend time. This is not the place to catch up with friends or family or work since there is music playing loudly from the centre room, which is where the WiFi works.. so this is an ideal place to sit and listen to music. The entire place gets locked up hardcore at night, great for security purposes, not so great as a fire hazard or for any early risers as you cannot even get to the comunal area, so the only place you can be until you get someone to unlock it is in your room.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Cheap & walking distance to the bus terminal. Outdoor hammacks & backyard area were nice. Good for a 1 night lay-over but probably no more than that.
Cons: Too many pets/animals. Felt like I was staying in a poorly ran guesthouse.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have been travelling solo for two years and have been to a lot of hostels. This is not the usual hostel at all. This is the home of a kind and unique woman and her rescue cats and dogs. A host who will nurture you and help you in any way she can. After travelling on my own for so long, finding places like this, where I can be surrounded by the most loving dogs and have interesting conversations with a really interesting person, it is way more important than a hostel with a pool or a bar.
Cons: Although the main door is always locked and the property feels very secure, there are no lockers.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Close to bus terminal. Hot shower and comfortable bed.
Cons: Location not safe area to stay. Access to hostel is with the owner having keys to open door and gate. It would help if she gave a key to guests to access the garden area. Another backpacker and I waited at least 5 minutes for the owner to open gate when out late. Room too cluttered. No lockers. When out I felt my bags had been tampered with. The owner can be too intrusive. Breakfast was terrible. Hot cereal and coffee was awful. Other reviewer stated the same. Kitchen was a good size but there are 3 dogs and at least 6 cats that have access to the kitchen. Not very hygienic. Stayed in hostels were dogs and cats did not have access to kitchen. I chose this hostel due to the reviews but feel that other people are giving good reviews due to it being owned by an old woman. Another reviewer stated the same reason.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host is awesome and so kind. Extend my stay was easy and really uncomplicated.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Liked the people around, no body touch our things, it was awesome
Cons: One night they did not fix our bed, and did not clean our room
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: You could only cash. The location was far from the centre and unknown to the first 3 taxis we tried to get and not possible to walk from the city centre. The room was a small converted block garage on the back of the house with no windows. There were plastic liners under the bed sheets which were hot and sticky to sleep on and to top it all there was the worst spanish country and western music playing loud until 2.30 in the morning amd that was a Sunday! The young guys running it were friendly enough but can think of no reason to recommend to other travellers .... It's not even cheap, go to the Alcala which was unfortunately full on this night in David.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice & clean bathroom. Has A/C, tv & cable. Fair wifi. Comfortable bed & clean beddings. Very nice quiet & safe neighborhood. Pretty houses around. Easy in & out stop on the way to Boquete. Staff not very communicative & friendly enough.
Cons: They said cofee was complimentary at breakfast but there was no coffee. Good thing we brought our own. Thanks for the use of the kitchen. No reeal hot shower.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The people here were so wonderful. My husband was having surgery and they did everything they could to accommodate us, including switching rooms. They were also doing a lot of improvements to the property and it was spotless.
Cons: The water temperature was inconsistent but you just had to adjust it up and down.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great helpful friendly staff! Clean big room, comfortable bed, air conditioning, flat screen TV. kitchen with all utilities. Good laundry service. Clean bathroom. Good spacious hot shower. Nice quiet house in residential area
Cons: Not a problem for us but the location is far out of town in a residential area with no restaurants etc. But a taxi only costs about $3. Fine for a quick stay.

Pros: The rooms
Cons: One of the receptionist was kind of grumpy

6.3 Good
Pros: The pool looked nice and the food at the restaurant was ok. The room was fine, standard business hotel I would say. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The neighborhood is not very nice and did not feel safe at night. The staff was not very friendly and when we ask if there was anything to do in David the only answer was: go to Boquete. There was mold on the shower and black hairs in our bed.

Cons: Everything was great, there isn't one thing that I would like to change.

Pros: Price
Cons: Pillows a little hard
7.9 Good
Pros: It has a great location. The underground parking is excellent, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Bathroom was huge. Room service staff was very friendly.
Cons: The elevator wouldn't go down to the parking, so we had to take steep stairs to the lobby carrying suitcases and purchases every time. Room was dark and the A/C noisy. Small room. The mattress was smaller than the bed, so it kept sliding down if you tried to sit at the top. There was no desk or chair to sit. Day shift front desk lady was not that friendly. I always felt like I was interrupting every time I asked for something.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Only stayed one night, all was good. Close to park square & centre.
Cons: Dark in room, only one pot light in room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just stayed for a night to catch a 4:30AM bus to the ferry to Boccas...clean, friendly staff (very patient with my very, very limited Spanish - the woman was at reception was super sweet!). Walk-able from the bus station, but I took a cab for $2 - they were happy to call me a cab for early in the AM & they provide wake up calls. Didn't seem like much around, so just good for a night to stay before catching bus, Pharmacy and a few restaurants within walking distance. Felt safe. Hot water shower.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Price ,clean
Cons: Pillows are a little hard. Not really anything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is near the central park. There are also some good restaurants and bars in the premises. The airport is just 10 minutes away.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was super clean and the staff all friendly and helpful. We had a great stay all in all. It would be great if you offered a buffet style breakfast delivered to the room, this was the only element missing. Like some bread, coffee and juice We will stay at this hotel again no problem.
Cons: My only criticism is that the hotel is on a busy road and the noise from that road is disturbing through the night, better glass in the windows would be an absolute advantage. If we stay there again we will request an off road room.

Pros: Close to the bus station
Cons: Staff misunderstood our booking and tried to charge us double the amount

Cons: A.C.
