Clean, nice rooms, decent breakfast Took more than an hour to get another room after a pipe broke and hot water and steam were pouring out.
it was 95 degrees outside & the air conditioner on the top floor (2nd) was not even on -- the switch was hard to dial (appeared broken) but fiddling with it was finally able to get it set & took 2 hours to cool down. Book a King room non- smoking & said they had us in a double Queen room - at least got that changed. A empty laundry bag found behind the sofa & garbage behind the nightstand. Minimal accessible electrical outlets & NO spoon or utensils to stir the one bag of coffee in the room - ice machine was broken -- very lumpy uncomfortable pillows-- cigarette smoke smell in hallways -- felt 'unsafe' - very disappointed ~ lots of other guests were of the construction working drinking gang.
Good a\c No elevators. Hard to climb stairs with luggage.
Many repairs were needed in our room. The tub drain was rotten out, the A/C controls were broken off, the couch had crusty stains on it, the pillows were stained, the pool had mold and slime all over the edges, musty smell in room. Pest control paper was placed in room, must be a bug issue. When reported musty smell in room, staff handed me an air freshener. The hallways and room were very dirty. Breakfast was advertised but minimal options were offered.
Nothing Room was disgusting dirty burn holes everywhere...looks like they have used a vacuum cleaner or mop in room in years
Cost me the additional taxes and fees on arrival....thought I had paid it all at reservation time. My room was to have a patio....not. Last at end of hall...view of mechanical stuff/ doghouse.....Windows were in terrible shape...dirty foggy looking messed up glass. Did not like the $18.00 buffet...both soups watery and tasteless. Had instead, a rather expensive salad. The basket of rolls remained empty the whole hour I was there!!!
I've stayed at Forrest Hills resort years ago and forgot how awesome it was. Especially in the Fall when all the leaves are changing. There were plenty of state parks and falls to explore within hours of the area. I recommend it.
I liked the fact that its deep into the Forest, adds on to the experience of camping and having a outdoors experience. Everything was about 11-15 miles from the resort. Everyone was nice and friendly. I can't live without my bonfire resort has one for each cabin ,homemade.I like the names they had for each cabin as well. They also have a kitchen/dinning area with couch ,stove and tv.Great if you want to make your own food.this you share everyone in lodge I did enjoy my stay overall and I'm also very honest about what I say so here it goes ,I will admit it was pricey for what it is. My room was comfy but had a weird smell, the landscape itself was beautiful but some of the lodges looked abandon from maintaiance.. I guess that is what makes it rustic. The outdoor jacuzzi's were filthy considering its summer time. I do know they are refurbishing some lodges..
When we walked into the building the smell was overpowering of musty and mold. Place looks like it needs repairs. My husband was unable to breathe, so we left immediately. They refunded us quickly.
Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere, since it is "tucked in" away from traffic noise. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. The Manager, Al Patel, was very nice. He possessed an attitude of commitment to excellence to customer service, as well as instantly responding to any requests (extra towels, etc.). His employees were all very nice, also. For this area (Dahlonega, GA), the price was at least more than 30% less than any other place there. Right next to a McDonalds. Has Continental breakfast with waffles, toast, cereal, milk, apples, muffins, mini bagels with cream cheese, etc. with a wide range of hours (from 6am - 10 am) for either early risers or those who like to sleep in. Very close to downtown square with shops, restaurants and pubs. Beautiful area of Georgia with waterfalls and historical places. Gold panning, etc. Lots to do! Plan to go again in spring, as it is a great place to get away and just relax. Can't complain about anything! Our stay was VERY ENJOYABLE!!!
Hotel was very clean. For us a great shower with tons of water pressure is amazing considering our stay was during a very cold rainy weekend. The breakfast was supposed to be open til 930. By 915 it was all put away on Sunday morning. Don't think you can sleep in if you want breakfast.
Shower, beds, breakfast included No fruit at breakfast, pillows
Close to the college and town square No laundry service
Hotel was great and the staff was more than helpful My business was pushed back and I only used 1 of the 5 days I had reserved the room. Due to price lines cancelation policy I was unable to receive a credit or refund. Lesson learned: don't use travel websites when booking hotels. Call the hotel directly because they are more likely to work with you.
Visit ancient mounds in the area.
The location Rooms are old and need to be remodeled.
Clerk very friendly when checking in. Room was great. Did not need any extra services. Clerk very friend;y when checking out. A oven/stove would have been nice but not needed. A channel listing would have been useful.
Ice machine and vending on second floor. There is a large available space. Lamps on all desks with outlets for electronic devices. There is no place to plug in a tablet or a phone. Sausage biscuits for breakfast would be nice. Easy to heat -- most people like them, at least in the South. No complaints
