Pros: Location, view
Cons: Personal don’t speak English
Pros: Lovely grounds with a tea house on the lake, quiet and peaceful, large room with balcony and comfy bed.
Cons: The restaurant wasn't great.
Pros: Our rooms was excellent, good heating, clean great views. Steven the manager very kind
Pros: Very beautiful location at the lake, very calm and relaxing. The room was clean and nice.
Cons: The staff doesn't really speak or understand basic English, which is a bit of a pity. I do speak Mandarin, but probably as good as they spoke English - so communication was not the easiest. Also, they didn't seem to want to understand me. The staff seemed more like they didn't care. Check-in and check-out was not very easy.
Pros: Well designed room, very large bathroom with balcony overlooking park. Big swimming pool and new gym equipment. Very close to the Watertown sights.
Cons: Food portions were a bit small.
Pros: It's a nice, quiet hotel in a beautiful area. The rooms have a lot of space, good beds and a balcony from where you hear the reassuring sound of crickets. We were especially fond of the swimming pool after a long walk with high temperatures.
Pros: the breakfast buffet was very, very good
Pros: Beatiful surroundings
Cons: They did not have a local map ready to give to their customers. Draining system of our bathroom is not good. security storage does mot work.
Pros: Service good, handled express sending of left-behind items easy and fast
Cons: Breaksfast room a bit hot, and some breakfast items had run out (milk, eggs, bread..), appeared they were shutting down services before the designated time.

Pros: Lovely and cozy. Perfect for couples!
Pros: It was a great room and had most things. A small fridge would have been good.
Cons: It was VERY difficult to find and we had to carry our luggage quite a distance over rough paths and up over bridges.
Pros: I had a wonderful stay at the Old Studio! I ran late with checking-in and the host was very helpful in giving my taxi directions/giving me walking directions. It is so special to stay in this old neighborhood! The Old Studio is gorgeous and exceptionally clean. It is truly worth it to stay here and explore the town on your own time. Do keep in mind you will need to walk from one of the main entrances, as the ancient city only has stone walkways along the water and small avenues. I highly recommend staying here to see the 'Venice of China'!
Pros: This is truly one of the most memorable trips I have ever had. The studio is just beautiful, quite and located in a magical old water village. It is not "close" to mainstream Shanghai but the staff were wonderful and even without a telephone I managed to navigate my way around and to achieve everything that I wanted and needed to do. There was music, food and great people all in this booking. For the artistic, creative and those who can appreciate intelligence stay here. It is lovely.
Pros: The rooms were very well designed and quirky. The location was fantastic. The staff were helpful and spoke good English when we asked questions about the local area.
Cons: This hotel shouldn't claim to offer an 'American breakfast'! It is a tiny bowl of granola swimming in yoghurt. With a small cup of black coffee on the side. Nothing else was offered!
Pros: Convenient Location, a bit hard to find (maybe because I took the wrong way... ) but I called Zik at the hotel and he found me!! Suggestion: get a chinese SIM card, at the apt, is really useful! Lovely boutique hotel, impressive design, and the Staff made my stay special. Inside the ancient town of Zujiajiao but not on the main streets so you can enjoy the silence! And the staff that can communicate in English is a plus.
Cons: The only negative probably I would have expected the room to be cleaned daily.
Pros: It was very cold weather, the electric blanket was really helpful. It was smartly lay underneath the bed sheet which kept me warm and had good sleep. The interior was designed tastefully and very clean, which made the guests feel pleasant, comfortable.
Pros: Location was central. Self check in and out was easy and smooth. Room was clean. No heater in the room but electric bed does keep us fairly warm. Communication with the owner was very easy via WeChat - very prompt and helpful. That helps a lot!
Cons: Room was a bit dim. Could use brighter lights.
Pros: The location and the staff
Cons: Comfort a little bit primitive.
Pros: The location of the property is in the ancient town of ZhuJiaJiao, the building itself is from early last century or even older. Though the building is old the planing and decoration of the room (which is the whole building) is contemporary playing on history, creative solutions, up-cycling, simple reuse and re-purpose of various objects. It's charming, ambiance of value. There is a balcony on top which is a great addition and also the reason to choose this room. Bath is spacious enough for two people to fit in.
Cons: 1. After entering the overall cleanliness seems alright, but when one would pay attention to the floor footprints could be seen, also bits of dust-balls which probably fall down from surfaces up that are not being attended by cleaning staff. Cleanliness could be improved. 2. Breakfast - it's served in a restaurant about 5 min walk from the property. The staff at the restaurant were asking us to present tickets that we were not informed about, I assume the tickets had to be taken from somewhere at the property. This could have been clarified in the introduction/instruction message we received upon checking in. Though we didn't have the said tickets the breakfast was served to us. Surprisingly for breakfast there is a very limited choice, actually just two options: noodles and wanton (dumplings). As both were not an option for one of us cause of gluten, the staff was kind enough to offer us rice and made sure we know "they went out of their way" to provide us that. I'd suggest to come up with some sort of breakfast option with eggs and other breakfast meal options. That would add to the "pleasant taste" of staying at the property. 3. Worth to mention that the toilet in the room is not separated from the common room space. Bath and shower can be separated using the curtains, but toilet has no such option. As we are a couple that are comfortable with one another it wasn't too complicated to deal with this, but still some level of awkwardness had to be dealt with.
With a stay at Canal Town Girls Home in Shanghai (Qingpu), you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Zhujiajiao Chenghuangmiao Temple and Jinze Ancient Town. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: Very quaint. Not easy to find as the streets in the town are not well marked. Perfect location to soak up the vibe of the place
Cons: Like many places in China it is in need of some maintenance.
Pros: Exceptional! Absolutely great girl. She came to meet us and brought us to the property. Pick a tripple room at the top of the house and you will be blown away by the atmosphere and unique style of the warm homestay.
Pros: Couldn't ask for a better location in Zhujiajiao! The owner is super sweet and went the extra mile with a translator app when trying to communicate with us. The place is really really cute and clean! Just a 15-20 minute walk or even shorter rickshaw ride to the train station (#17 line) that plugs you into the Shanghai metro system. (It's an awesome way to get around.) The weather was starting to get a little chilly and there was a lovely heated blanket! Also a heater but we didn't need to use it.
Cons: You need to be able to navigate steep stairs. Water pressure was a bit low.
Pros: The decoration is warm and distinctive, the service is warm and honest, the room is clean and comfortable, the location is convenient, and the room also ensures privacy. It is a good place for leisure and vacation!
Pros: The surrounding traffic is convenient, snacks are particularly large, the front desk service is particularly good, and the living is also very comfortable
Pros: Very good, oh, plant good, praise, the environment is very good, very distinctive, very good service attitude, all take care of very clean, neat, very good.
Pros: My friends and I came to this house, the overall layout is very delicate, warm, the environment is good, happy in Zhujiajue. All aspects of health, especially the toilet hygiene is very clean, everyone lived very comfortable, a very happy experience. Try another style room later.
Pros: I love how the room is decorated (lovely!!). The place is close to most of spots in Zhujiajiao. Many restaurants and shops nearby but as they all closed at night, you will have a peaceful moment strolling around the area.
Cons: The shower could be a little bit stronger but I have nothing else to complain

Cons: The fridge was out of use, so it was unable to keep drink bottles cold. Instead, we enjoyed Chinese tea using teaware of the room!
