Pros: Outstanding B&B, very friendly welcome. Stunning house and beautiful views. Highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location surrounded by countryside yet only a few minutes from the town. The house is full of character and beautifully furnished and cared for and on a cold, stormy early June evening the blazing log fire that greeted me was more than welcome. Victoria and Richard, the hosts, are so warm and welcoming. Delicious breakfast too.
Cons: Water pressure in the shower wasn't great though given the age of the building was perhaps to be expected.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant breakfast, and truly lovely hosts, even helping with my bike. The bed was so delightfully comfy.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our charming hosts, Victoria and Richard, were incredibly welcoming. They made sure we were happy with everything and gave us lots of local information. Our room at the top of the house was just amazing! Fabulous views across the countryside. We also had use of the comfy lounge. The medieval town of Domfront is fascinating with its old castle and good restaurants. Lots of interesting local towns and pretty villages. The Voie Verte cycle way along an old railway line was great fun but a bit hard work getting to it! Really need to go back for another visit as far too much to do in just four days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is what every B&B dreams to be. The house is incredibly charming, the owners make you feel at home and the rooms are large, confortable and have an air of rustic luxury. So are the bathrooms. Everything very clean and homely decorated. Excelent breakfast!

Pros: Everything was perfect, beautiful building in a lovely town. Great breakfast and a very relaxing place to spend a night.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The warmth of the welcome, the quality of the breakfast, the character of the property, the location in the old town of Domfront...
Cons: The room was a little noisy as a result of being first floor at the front, with the property fronting onto a steep road, however the convenience of the location and the far reaching views (even from in bed!) far outweighed this
10.0 Excellent

De France - Domfront-en-Poiraie - Building

8.1 Excellent (173 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at De France in Domfront En Poiraie, you'll be 12 minutes by foot from Dormont Chateau. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Had to ask for towels toilet paper etc no fridge in room
Cons: Fridge in room refreshments left without asking
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel with parking. It doesn't have a gourmet restaurant - the speciality is barbecue. Good brekfast, comfortable room.
Cons: It would have been good to have a traditional Norman/French restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thé staff, the room, practically everything
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location in interesting town. Good air-con in room. We were able to garage our motorbike (albeit down a very steep slope). We didn't eat there (see next section).
Cons: We deliberately chose this hotel for its 'Panoramic Terrace' and we looked forward to eating our evening meal with a view of the river. Alas - it was not to be. They'd laid tables in that area fro breakfast and they refused to let us sit there for an evening meal - offering instead a table inside on a very hot evening. We went elsewhere and arranged our own breakfast. Nil points.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent restaurant one of my favourites in the area. Staff very friendly and rooms were basic but clean.
Cons: Other than the cost of the breakfast 10 addtional euros for a coffee and juice the selection was small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a traditional Logis hotel, but the room we stayed in had fairly recently been refurbished to a high standard - everything worked unusually well and there was an excellent shower. There is a large garden at the back of the hotel, beyond which is the river. A bonus for cyclists on the Veloroute Franchette is that the hotel is next to the former railway, not in the main town at the top of the hill.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, run with pride and attention to detail. The views to the gardens are beautiful. The breakfast room & lounge are fantastic. The bedrooms and bathrooms are extremely clean and well equipped. Great bike storage too. On arrival, the hotel is on fairly busy road but the rooms to the rear are spacious, peaceful, very clean and look out onto lovely views and gardens.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff are lovely in the hotel. We have stayed here a few times now and always receive a warm welcome. Beds are really comfy and rooms impeccably clean.
Cons: There wasn’t much in the way of coffee in the room. Just a couple of sachets and no milk. Would have liked more coffee, sugar and definitely milk.
6.8 Good
Pros: A large room with everything I needed, especiallly the heated towel rail for drying my cycling gear. Also safe cycle storage,
Cons: The location was unattractive and the breakfast choice limited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place very relaxing and food super

6.3 Good
Pros: Price location useful breakfast
Cons: Outside looks , no staff at site
8.0 Excellent
Pros: very handy having the hotel de France next door for meals.
Cons: Gite was out of town down a steep hill so very reluctant to walk back into to the old town.
7.5 Good
Pros: all in all it is a good hotel
Cons: really? 10€ for a breakfast? wouldn't be 8€ enough? even with ham and cheese?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely grounds where I was able to exercise my dog. and a restaurant at the hotel next door (which is owned by the same people who run the Gite de Relais St Michel).
Cons: With the shutters closed, the room was too hot even after closing the radiators and keeping the window open. The shutters needed to be closed to keep out traffic noise. An option for a room on a lower level would have been greatly appreciated for my husband who uses crutches and our elderly dog.
7.0 Good
Pros: It’s quite basic but clean and comfortable. Clearly seen better days but this is reflected in the price. Nice staff. Good restaurant. Good WiFi. Nice location in a pretty part of a lovely town. And reasonably priced.
6.3 Good
Pros: Did not expect annex! Manned by the staff of the hotel due France, but the food at the grill in the main hotel was fine.
6.3 Good
Pros: Spiral stairs up to rooms, very basic rooms bed very hard food ws good
Cons: Stairs or steps everywhere
6.3 Good
Pros: Free parking and the staff were helpful
Cons: It was very basic and we did think there would be tea and coffee facilities but there wasn’t. However they lent us s kettle.
7.0 Good
Pros: This hotel was closed but I was upgraded to the hotel de France which seem to own both. Nice room, carpet has seen better days but considering I only paid 40€ for two nights I can’t really complain
Cons: Steak restaurant is good
7.5 Good

Cons: It was a bit basic
