The hotel was decently priced and the location was only a block or so from where I needed to be in the morning. Easy access to everything, Kroger's, Wendy's, family dollar, gas stations, all in walking distance. The location was very busy with a Wendy's in front, a Kroger gas station on one side and a strip/ plaza mall behind. A lot of car traffic. The room, sheets, floors were clean. The bathroom everything was clean except the walls to the shower were disgusting, I let the front desk know and left a note for housekeeping.
Location Room booked was not available. Checked in and was give room with 2 double beds. 2nd check was able to switch to king bed handicap room.
They're an awesome sports bar that's attached to the hotel. Wish they had ports so that you can charge your electronic devices
Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. My favorite things: Craft beer at the bar Updated decor-- very swank Location Big rooms No free breakfast = sad face
Great bed. Slept awesome. Very clean. Loved it.
Nice rooms in heart of town.
Location was great, staff was friendly, decor was fresh Pillows were terrible, hallway noise was very loud
Mia at the front desk was very helpful in resolving a mistake I made with my reservation. There was also a new young man who was in training. He was sharp and very proffessional Parking building as well as the way you had to get there was very dreary.
Staff very friendly, helpful using shuttle to take us to local restaurant where parking didn't exist. Beds comfortable, clean, and shower was great! Pool very small and was overrun by small very loud children with a teen sitting with them. Missed the breakfast found at other hotels we stayed in during our 5 day road trip, charged for parking behind hotel, only location we have been charged for parking. New batch of keys didn't all work, given 2 keys but only one would work, several other customers in line to get keys replaced.
Comfy bed, very clean, everything is new and fresh. Rooms are quiet, you can't hear people in the halls or above you. Room service good, food is decent. Location is cool right on the river. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again. $10 parking surcharge which they tell you about after you check in and you don't have a choice you have to pay it. No free breakfast (at this price should be included), front desk staff grumpy & gives slight attitude. Both nights different people were rude to me. Parking garage is creepy.
Good location and very nice river view Facility needs a face lift. Should be due for a remodel.
Proximity to the Civic Center & Towne Center Mall, restaurants, etc.is perfect. For the price, a small (free) Continental breakfast would have been nice. The pay-for breakfast prices were a bit high. Just some pastries, fruit and/or yogurt along w/ unlimited coffee and juice would have been a great extra. However, it was the perfect place to stay when attending event (Winter Jam Tour) @ the civic center.
The staff was helpful and communicative. The room was clean. This particular hotel is one of the most expensive in the area, and there are zero addons. The WiFi is an additional fee, parking is an additional fee (and an outrageous 14 per day for hotel guests), there is no continental breakfast or complimentary items. I am not trying to sound cheap or trashy, but for the price of just parking I could have taken a cab from a less expensive hotel with free breakfast and Internet that was equally as comfortable and well-staffed.
Great stay from beginning to end. Once the car was parked. It stayed parked. Everything was within walking distance. Friendly staff. JOY was the wonderful front counter assistant who was not only a friendly face but helpful in suggestions on food and night life. We will definitely be back.
Nice room. Cordial staff. Lovely facility where wedding reception held. Paying extra for parking. Inflated cost of items in hotel shop. No exhaust fan in bathroom.
This hotel is not a good place to stay, especially if you have young children. When we returned to our room that night there was a party going on with lots of people hanging around outside. The next morning there were empty condom boxes beside our car. We did not stay the next night. It was bad enough we were willing to lose our money. Definitely not a family hotel.
Newly updated rooms. The first room had sticky stuff on the floor. They gave us another room which had a cigarette butt and dust on the shelf
Good, solid stay!
The front desk staff were very welcoming and warm. The room that my husband and I stayed in was fairly clean. There was some dirt around the a/c unit and under the mini fridge. However, the room that we got for my parents had hairs in the bed and dirt that had clearly been swept under the refrigerator. In addition, there were several guests standing outside arguing loudly and smoking.
Staff were friendly, room was comfortable. No frills, but perfect for our needs and the bed was very comfortable. There are two separate buildings here, at 90 degree angles to each other. We liked the wood-grain laminate floors. It felt cleaner than other hotels which have carpeted floors. The signage wasn't clear, and had I not known exactly where it was, behind a Motel 6 and another building, it might have been confusing, or even impossible for an out-of-towner to figure it out. The parking lot needs repaving. I should have asked ahead whether there was an elevator on site. There is not. I have some difficulty with stairs, and we were on the second floor, but it worked out. We were able to park near the stairs. It would be nice to have one full-length mirror in the room. We could have used a standard box of tissues, rather than the pocket pack provided. Also, there was no extra roll of toilet paper, only what was on the roll when we arrived. It was okay for our two-night stay. There is no pool, as far as I could see.
Comfortable bed, warm shower, right off of the freeway. Make sure u sleep opposite side of the freeway and turn your fan on.
Liked laminated wood floor instead of carpet Low shower water pressure
Clean and recently renovated
It was very easy to check in and find my room. Parking was not a problem. The hotel is right next to the interstate, so getting around town was not a problem. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. Finding the place was somewhat difficult to find, as there were other hotels positioned on the same road. The hotel was not well marked or easily seen until I was right on top of it. The hotel itself does not offer any breakfast or facilities to work out in as well.
We chose the hotel based on proximity to a 2-day event we were attending. We stayed for two nights and we will definitely be back! The hotel staff was friendly, courteous, helpful, and went above and beyond to make us happy and comfortable. This applied to every hotel staff member we encountered, not just one! Check in/out was simple and accurate, the room was clean, warm, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed including a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and safe. There was even a box in our room for the type of room we chose- it contained complimentary bottled water, orange juice, granola bars, trail mix, and microwave popcorn. I could not believe the $54/night price tag. There was not a continental breakfast available, but there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance so that was not a problem. It was a wonderful experience!! I prefer a hotel room with a door that opens to the inside of a building/hallway rather than to an outdoor parking lot/balcony, but it was still fine.
Inexpensive Upon arrival, the front desk worker told us that our room may or may not be clean. He said their housekeeping team did not care very much and management didn't seem to want to do anything about it. The floors in the room were unswept with pet and human hair everywhere. Beds were made, but sheets did not look clean. The bathroom needed many repairs as well. We had already paid for the room so we asked for clean sheets, made our own bed, and had a poor nights sleep. We left the hotel as soon as we old in the morning. We will definitely not be back to this location.
Blankets, sink counter, bath tub, floor, drawers where all not cleaned. Seem housekeeping totally didn't clean the room. You really get what you pay for. Very dissaponting stay but charging to experience.
The bed and pillows were fantastic - very comfortable! I liked the Keurig in the room - great to have single cup options when both people may not want the same type of coffee. The room itself was very clean and well lit. The bathroom was a nice size with an okay shower - nothing fancy, but it got hot and had good pressure. The casino was just off from the elevators, which was very convenient. We enjoyed watching the dog races while having dinner at the Grill at First Turn. It was so nice that the entire casino was non-smoking. The breakfast that was included was so much more than we expected. They had cereals, bagels, danishes, fruit (though not fresh), scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and also an omelet station where you could get your eggs made to order. Check-out was at noon and was a breeze since we had pre-paid. Overall we had a very positive experience. When we first arrived right at 7pm, the front desk seemed short-staffed. There was only one employee who was on a phone call that lasted several minutes. We waited a few minutes for her to finish the call, but ended up going straight to dinner before checking in. Dinner at The Grill at First Turn was just okay. Our server was fantastic, but the food was just okay for what you paid. If we were to return to Mardi Gras, we would not dine here again. These walls were paper thin. We requested a room on the fourth (top) floor. While we didn't have a vending or ice machine (2nd and 3rd floors only), we were grateful to not have anyone above us. There were people arguing in the halls all night, and our neighbor was up the entire time yelling at the television about his virtual racing. We were both awakened multiple times throughout the night.
Very clean, modern, well-maintained. Restaurant/room service is a nightmare and it was a struggle to get it eventually removed from my bill.
The staff was AWESOME! I was traveling with my son and my dog and their dog rules are a bit strict. You can't leave your dog in your room because they'll disturb the other guests but you also can't take your dog into the dining area because of health code. So I asked the staff how I was supposed to get breakfast. They held my dog's leash while I got breakfast, got me boxes and a grocery bag so I go carry it up to my room. The also helped me get the food in the box because I was holding my 8 month old son and got me juice in a to go cup! They offered to help me upstairs but I declined. Just an overall great experience with the staff. The rooms were very clean for being dog friendly and they had an outside area for dogs that looked like you could let them off leash. A few things I didn't like was that there wasn't a crib available for my son so we both slept horribly. The other thing is that their breakfast wasn't complimentary. Perhaps that's silly to say but think that it should be.
Easy access. Room spacious. Hvac was problematic. Breakfast was ok not good.
Conveniently located right off of the highway, large room and bath. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Stray hairs in the bathtub. Window was leaking and seemed to have mold around the frame. Wifi wouldn't work and there was no phone reception either. If you have kids who are attached to their devices I wish you luck!! If you're looking for a front desk employee look out at the tables on the front porch, they're out there smoking.
Great place to stay. Very convenient. Plenty of restaurants close by. Room was very nice and clean. Staff was polite and helpful with local directions. They only have feather pillows on the beds. You have to ask for regular (non-feather) pillows when making reservations or there might not be one available. Or bring your own.
Nice workout equipment, clean pool & great breakfast. Had a pre-paid reservation, the lady who checked us in was extremely nice, but not good with her computer. At first she could not find our reservation, then she did not recognize our rewards card, then she claimed my credit card was declined, I had a several thousand dollar limit & while I went to give her another one, the original was approved. This was a big hassle considering the room was booked & paid for already, I had the print out of it as well & it took a long time to check in. I am a frequent traveler & was very disappointed with this, it was frustrating & embarssing. May I suggest a technology class or more training for the clerk. I had traveled over 500 miles in a car filled with traffic, thinking check in would be a breeze, wanting to rest & this was not the case.
Clean, spacious room, decent breakfast. Nearby truck and rail traffic was heard all night (window was closed).
The hotel had very comfortable beds and the free breakfast was a nice surprize and tasty. The stay was well worth it and i left feeling i got my moneys worth.
Soon after settling down in our room, we discovered we were locked in our room! The deadbolt was stuck in the locked position and the knob on the door would just spin around and around. We called the front desk and soon after, a staff person came and started trying to open the door with the 'emergency key'. It failed. She told us she would call the security guard (he never did come), the staff member told us to open our sliding window as much as we could, she handed us a tiny screwdriver and told us to break the lock on the window (didn't work). One person in our party had to crawl out a 6 inch space to go get a multi-tool our of our car. After breaking the lock to get the window open, the staff member tells us, 'well I guess you were going out for the night, just close the window behind you, let me know if you descide you want another room!' We were so upset, demanded another room (which we did not pay for), and had to move all of our belongings out the open window and in a back entrance door. The staff member did not offer to help us do any of this and simply stated, 'I am so sorry I got so frustrated!' This is a safety concern, I will always request a first floor room and carry a multi-tool with me traveling, and NEVER stay here again!
I went to this hotel on short notice, it was reasonably priced and staff was great. Probably the best free breakfast selection I've had at any hotel...I'd recommend it.
We were waited on immediately and the clerk was very friendly. The hotel looked very nice and clean. The room was nice and clean, but i hate fat pillows! the breakfast they offered was yummy with lots of choices, and everything looked and tasted fresh. I had a rental car, but didn't know how to get back to the airport on the day of my departure, so the shuttle bus driver (who did not speak English very well) let me follow him to the airport even though he didn't have any other passengers! (He was such a cute little guy, and we had fun trying to figure out how to make each other understand what the plan was.) He made sure to keep me in his sights the whole way, which made me feel so comfortable and safe. He certainly went above and beyond the call of duty!
Easy on and off I-64. Right next to mall and lots of food. Continental breakfast at hotel was good. Traveled with 5 month old and were able to sleep well even with a hotel full of AAU basketball teams.
Stayed at hotel while on driving trip. Clean room, quality facilities. Breakfast bar well stocked despite busy morning with many guests there. Highly recommend.
Nice big room. Clean. The beds were wonderful - great mattress - wonderful sheets - as nice as I have at home. We couldn't figure out how to use the TV remote ... at 9pm on Saturday night the front desk sent someone very quickly to show us how to work it. Great location -walk to lots of restaurants and shopping. A stone's throw from the convention center. Lots of free parking. What's not to like? I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. I've paid alot more for alot less.
I was on another website for this hotel. say pets are allowed......there not! Great to Know after a 12 hour drive Says there were rooms open...nope!!!! All booked up! Never stay there again.....
The Staff and Service was excellent hotel experience exceeded our expectation
They have the best location for the civic center but if they are full you will have no hot water in the morning, the hallways are noisy, elevator is slow and side door does not like to open with your room key like it is intended.
The hotel was older, a bit outdated, but suited my needs for just a night. It had a perfect location right by the interstate and across from a downtown mall. I was disappointed with the noise, the hair dryer which barely worked, and a toilet that kept making sounds all night. The small gym was adequate, but smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Overall, it suited the needs as I was on my way to NC. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was a nice treat.
Room was clean, location was good and staff was helpful. Would recommend.
Great value-access to Holiday in amenities-good tasting-free-breakfast -computer and printer access-Central location Little wear and tear -bathroom ceiling- Near train tracks-and Dow plant-high chemical content in the spa-hot-tub made my eyes red -had to cover my face to stand the chemicals-Most likely not their fault though- Stay but skip the hot-tub. The work out room was nice -wished for some lighter weights 8lbs & 12lbs would have been good for the ladies. Very good over all -would stay again :)
Beds were comfortable, breakfast was convenient. Staff was friendly and heloful. The pool was beautiful and would have been great for the kids, but it was under renovation. They did offer us to use another hotels pool aboit 10 minutes away, but i did not feel like traveling. Bathrooms wrre not updated. There was a rusty tyoe ring in the sink and the the shower had several spots that appeared to have been touched upp witj porcelain paint. The room was cramped snd small. Therre was left over candy in one of the drawers from a previous guest. Pool was under renovation.
Dangerous toaster. Got painful burn.
The hot tub was great! There was nothing negative.
The ease of making the reservation which cost $145+ BUT... (See Next Panel > What I Didn't Like) The fact that $ 93.91 Is Still Lingering on my Credit Card as a "Pending" Charge makes me Very Nervous!!!
We woke up in the middle of the night to a very smelly room. We were not sure what caused it. If it had been earlier we would have moved.
I like that they change the duvet cover everyday. Those covers can get pretty rank. The bed was firm and even the sheets felt nice.
The room was very clean and quite a very short walk to the civic center
Staff was great, room itself was quite nice. Your description included both fridge and microwave in the room -- there was neither. That meant that I had to bet ice three times after check-in at around 8:00 pm in order to keep medicines cold. Price was too high for the area and no AARP or other discounts available because of booking through you folks. I won't do it again.
Great value, the center of Charleston all within walking distance Parking was not secure
I needed a taxi and none was forthcoming. The front desk lady offered to get one of her housekeepers to assist. I was so grateful. Of course the taxi came just the. My room was not yet refurbished. The white sheets had seen better days. The hangers were falling apart. The housekeeper came and knocked on my door at nine in the morning to see if I was still there. Check out is 11. Why not check with the front desk?
Room was nice. Continental breakfast had alot of selections
Great location bed was extremely comfortable! The fire alarm was basically hanging off the wall.
Stayed here for 3 days an had a great experience. Great location, clean facility, pool, hot tub, an all the staff members were very friendly.
room was clean, and you can't beat the price. Close to the interstate, and while not really in walking distance, it's still a good location.
Location and friendly staff Air conditioning unit would run for awhile and then shut off. I was on the 7th floor so the room heated up quickly but the unit wouldn't come back on for awhile and the room would get too warm for me...especially during the night.
Friendly staff excellent breakfast
Every thing except the pillows. :-) Bring a pillow from home with you.
The front desk staff was courteous, and the room was very clean. The room was a little small, but it had everything we needed.
Location was good--very easy access on and off I-64. The bed was comfortable and the AC was good. The room was very small, The TV was small and placed high on the wall above the desk making viewing from the desk uncomfortable. The "High Speed" internet is a awful. Highest speed in the morning tested at 2 Mbps and slowed down in the evening. The system kept disconnecting the internet access making it very frustrating to use. Ended up tethering to my data plan on my phone.
For my first week as a business traveler, I was quite impressed. The rooms are like a home away from home. Comfy beds, sofa and clean rooms. All I had to provide was groceries. I'm very pleased and will return often for my business travel. Nothing. I'm very pleased. Everyone was very friendly and helpful during my stay.
Polite staff and location to the Civic Center. View of the river and a fire pit outside close to it. Clean with a welcoming entrance. Reserved double queen with pullout couch. GOT single king with pullout couch right next to the elevator. 3rd party website said cots were available but this hotel does not have them. Staff ensured that fold out couch would make a queen bed...not even close; super single at best. Although very polite the staff made no effort to help me out. Blamed the booking site. Called Hotel.com and my call was finally taken by an Indian woman that I could barely understand in a large office with quite a bit of background noise. Of course bookings are "subject to availability" even though I paid for something else. So she blames the hotel. Very poor customer service from both parties. Will not use either again.
Overall nice hotel. The breakfast had lots of options, one of the better ones we've had for a 'free breakfast'. The room was one the smaller side, but still nice. Would definitely stay here again.
Very Clean and Very Kind Staff not really

it was clean room was super small, smallest room ever stayed in there was just two of us and was cramped in. My bathroom at my home is bigger than this room and very very loud noise never stopped.
Clean and comfortable room.
Great hotel for star rating. Very clean and organized. Definitely recommend this hotel
Breakfast great, bed comfortable, nice place! They upgraded me for free! Bathroom was not clean, but they made it right.
Very clean and modern. Loved the color schemes and decor. No
That it was nice and clean, and we enjoyed thd pool and hot tub.We only live 10 miles away but we had our grandchildren this night so we went to the hotel to swim.
Breakfast was amazing!Food was hot and staff stayed on top of refilling the trays, tons of options! Staff was great, very nice and polite. The room was awesome! Will definitely stay here again!

This is the ONLY Bed & Breakfast in Charleston and no one should pass up the chance to experience Lisa's enchanted hospitality. The location is marvelous with the Capitol a block away as well as delicious eats within walking distance (Bluegrass Kitchen & Tricky Fish are my favorites!). The house is just lovely, as is afternoon tea and a delectable homemade breakfast. The opportunity to chat with other guests or just cozy on up alone with a book or Miss Pineapple (the outdoor cat) are experiences you can't find/create/imagine at box hotels. If you are thinking of this as a potential option then let me be the thought that tips you toward going for it. Let your lodging make this trip one to repeat.
