Very friendly upscale and clean
No AC in room but fan was provided.
Great location a bit pricey during Festival in August. Would stay there again due to the excellent staff and location.
The reception area is lovely and the staff were absolutely first class. They are, without doubt, the best thing about this hotel. Friendly, helpful, courteous. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The location is amazing. We sampled the food and cocktails in the bar. Really good.
Once you get past reception (and the key public areas) the property feels a little tired. One of the lifts was always out of action. The room was nice (I had booked a superior) but the bathroom was very small and tired with marks on the walls and the extractor fan was full of dust. I think for such a central location (and price) I would be getting something a little more luxurious for my money. I had booked this as a treat for my mum’s 70th birthday and was a little disappointed.
Great location. Amazing staff. Clean. Beautiful. Comfortable.
If you have a car, parking difficult. However, you don’t need a car.
Great décor, helpful and friendly staff, good location
Small thing - three days of room service, each time utensil or condiments were missing
The InterContinental Edinburgh The George has been welcoming hotel guests since 1881. At its heart are five listed Georgian townhouses, built in 1775 as homes for Edinburgh’s most prosperous citizens. The hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the city or conduct business. The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen was once home to acclaimed novelist Susan Ferrier, whilst Burr & Co. is a lovely quirky coffee shop with a devoted local following. The hotel also boasts 8 meeting rooms and equipped gym.
