Feel completely ripped offPros: Car was very good, clean and comfortable. No issue with the car.Cons: When I returned the car, the assistant manager went straight to one tyre and pointed out a couple of dents in the tyre wall that he claims I must have caused as the tyres were in perfect condition before the rental. When I told him that the pre-rental check of the car only included the bodywork and that the guy mentioned that damage to the wheels was normal and didn't count, he said he'd check with the guy that I picked the car up from. The guy was in the back office and didn't come out but the assistant manager assured me that I was invited to inspect the tyres beforehand. The was simply not true. I was charged £300 to replace the tyre. Outrageous.

Collision damage waver insuranceCons: The car hire and Collision Damage Waver insurance were sold as a package and yet it was clear that Enterprise were very uncomfortable with this. They made me sign a complex disclaimer before I could take the car. Additionally, the telephone number on the certificate of insurance was in the USA and I felt that it would be difficult to organise a claim if it were needed.

Difficulties with reservationPros: Making a reservation was easy, prices quoted looked great.Cons: I couldn't change the name on my reservation, and had to cancel the original and make a new reservation in order to accomplish this. My confirmation email was never sent to me, and the actual price at the counter appeared to be more than my reservation price. I also tried to reserve a midsize SUV, but ended up getting a Volkswagen golf (which is supposedly a size larger than what I reserved.

Stood in line for Budget for an hour waiting on the one and only attendant to check us in to our vehicle. Nobody goes to the car with you to confirm, I did take a picture but I still feel like it’s my word against there’s. Pros: The car worked and was cheap.Cons: Drop off and pick up was incredibly slow, the shuttle runs like once an hour and the staff is in no hurry either. Literally took me 90 min to pick up and drop off, and there were no lines to wait in. If it weren't for the incredibly cheap rates, there's no way this place would be in business. The service was really lacking, the rental office looks like an old shed, and the staff is dishonest, trying to charge you for "damage" to the vehicle that clearly was there when you picked up the car. Definitely not worth the hassle to save a few bucks.

Nothing but a scam artist ripping off customersPros: Basically nothing to like about these guys if I could give less then one stars I would. Kayak should drop these guys as a rental agent.Cons: Pushy salesman that lie to you claiming that U.K. Laws changed and I am required to prove I have insurance coverage otherwise I have to pay for full coverage. A call to budget and avis after the fact proved that no law changed and they were sorry that that happened to us. And even when you say you want to return the car early they will not give you a refund on "any unused tire" as they said is in the terms and conditions which was never told to us on pick up. The pick up for both Scotland airports Edinburgh and Glasgow are off site a few miles away from the airport so you are in a the middle of a rundown lot and no way to go. They don't explain nor show you the full terms and conditions yet they just copy and paste your signature onto it. And when you call and talk to the customer service they hang up on you and say that all the managers have gone on a long weekend when there is not long weekend holiday that anyone knows about. My £91 booking I made ended up being £337. All because we had to but couldn't prove our credit cards or auto insurance policy had rental car insurance.

This place is miss leadingPros: There was not one positive I can say about this placeCons: This place is listed as an EDI airport rental, it is not. After taking the shuttle to the rental center we were told that it’s not actually at the airport. I looked up the order and found a number to request a shuttle, I called 4 times, no one ever answered. I called an Uber, and during the 15-20 minute drive to their site. He told us to, “be cautious, these lads are very misleading.” Their rental center is a trailer in what looks like a junkyard. The inside of the building was filthy. My wife didn’t want to sit down because, the what looked like bed sheets they covered the couches were covered in old food. After waiting for 45 minutes to speak to the only representative working, they told me the type of car I requested was no longer available. He told me I needed to rent their Mercedes cause it’s all they had left. It was also going to be extra since it was an AMG. After 23 hours of traveling, I didn’t feel like arguing and took the car. We then got to coverage. We weren’t allowed to take the car off the lot without putting a £1500 deposit on our card or else take full coverage. Again, I was too tired to argue so I just took the coverage. From there, now in the dark, we got our car a hour and twenty minutes after arriving and got on the road. When we arrived at our destination the dome lights came on and I could see that this car had not been cleaned in quite a while, I then went to get the luggage out of the truck of the car and realized their were no AMG badges on the car. I went back in the car and noticed the AMG floor mats, confused I then opened the hood and looked at the engine block to find, again, there were no AMG badges. These are on ALL AMG’s. They put floor mats in the car and charged me more, assuming the driver wouldn’t notice. All in all, I book a $200 car and left paying $675. This place was unbelievable! Please remove them from your service so this doesn’t happen to another customer. Thank you, Adam

Completely unprofessionalPros: Nothing!!! If you want to spoil your holiday plans, please go ahead and book with this location and they will not disappoint you. We had booked 2 7-seater vans for a one day trip to the highlands continuing on to Glasgow the next day. At the time of pick-up, we were informed by the desk staff that they don’t have the cars and it was not possible to make any alternate arrangements.Cons: Such a callous attitude for a confirmed booking!!! We had provided our email addresses and telephone numbers during the booking and they didn’t have the courtesy to call and let us know so we could make alternate arrangements. They stated that they sent an email and we did not receive any email from them.. 2 different email addresses and both didn’t get any notification. They did mention that they were trying all weekend to get the cars but were unable to acquire them and when asked for alternate options they didn’t seem to care!!! Left us completely stranded!!! Completely unprofessional!!!
Pros: The car was great. Excellent gas mileage, handled well, and was absolutely impeccable when we picked it up. Service was kind and friendly.Cons: The return process has been a little frustrating. First, I was not told that I would need to keep the copy of the paperwork stating our agreement to give to the Avis rep on Orkney. Had I known that, I would have put it with the other confirmations and information that I was toting around instead of panicking. Second, I found the paperwork, gave the keys to the Avis rep, he said he would get it South from there, and I had nothing further to do. Unfortunately, I got an email from Avis telling me I was in breach of contract because the car hadn't been returned. This issue has not been resolved and is currently my only frustration with the rental.

The first address if you search for this location in Bing is wrong!Cons: I had difficulty finding both the pickup location in St. Pancras, London and the dropoff location in Edinburgh. I had to walk around and ask in several buildings before I found the St. Pancras office. Then, when I used Bing to find the address of the Sixt office in Edinburgh, the first address than came up was incorrect. It was many miles from the correct location. The folks at another car rental office were good enough to direct me to the correct address.

Taken Advantage OfCons: I paid in advance for the rental insurance through Kayak . When we arrived to pick-up the car, we were told that they would not honor the insurance that Kayak had sold and that I would need to call and get a refund. We had to buy Sixt's very expensive insurance which was the same rate as the car rental itself! When we were given a detailed receipt there were so many extra charges, including the afore-mentioned insurance, an extra driver fee of £100 and a drop-off fee. All in all, the cost was 3 x the expected amount. Very bad experience as it felt like we were taken advantage of.

Not notified by email when "damage" reported on the car.Pros: Customer service at point of rental was pleasant, efficient all-round service when I had the car.Cons: I received a letter to my UK Address (I live in Russia) a week after returning the car stating there is reported damage and asking for feedback from me. As a result SIXT asked my bank to place a block on the card I used to hire the car with, so the past 7 days my card has been blocked and I had no idea until a family member opened a posted letter regarding this. I'd have appreciated an email as well as a hardcopy, then I could have dealt with the problem swiftly.
Cons: Not a thing. These guys far exceeded expectations on every level.

Pros: Car was upgraded to a brand new luxury car (we had paid for a mini/economy/compact) which was actually more stressful thinking of potential expensive repairs. The car worked great and the nav system was fully functional - had some weird settings that we couldnt figure out how to turn off.Cons: There were many hidden fees with this company that, since we booked through Kayak, were not made clear to us. They don't let you pay for the car using a credit card that has flat numbers. They claim this is because when they make a physical copy of the card, the numbers don't show up, and their insurance "doesn't like that". This is a scam to force you into buying their car insurance, which was very frustrating. They also wanted us to put down a deposit of almost $3,000 for our 1-week rental, or pay an additional $40 per day for a $1200 deposit. The total we paid ended up being similar to other bigger, name brand car rental companies, but it was just frustrating that this was advertised as a "discount" car company.

Reservation Not Honored, Agent Didn't CareCons: We made a same-day reservation and when we showed up, the agent wouldn't honor the reservation. He said they had no cars, third-party broker reservations take at least 24 hours to come through, and dismissed my 'but I have a reservation' with, "but you haven't paid anything for it yet, have you?" He was completely unapologetic and uncaring. We paid for a taxi from the train station to the airport for this reservation and ended up having to pay several times more to get one of the few available cars at a competitor at the airport. Complete failure and I'm astonished Kayak and Dollar associates with this franchise.

Cons: Company called partway through my rental to tell me to return the car because it had been sold! They offered an exchange but no compensation for the hassle of returning the car. Also tried to claim damage with small scratches on one tire rim - I was able to prove that they were there when I rented the car. You need to run your finger around the rim when picking up the car to check for tiny scratches.
