This was excellent value for money. Great breakfast. Close to a tram stop. Beautiful garden just outside our window. We really enjoyed this place. We had not done our homework and were not ready for the different electricity plugs and this was the only hotel (out of three we stayed in Edinburgh) that had USB chargers alongside UK electricity outlets which means we could easily charge our phones. In the other hotels we used TV sets for this purpose but it meant we had to leave the TVs on during the night to be able to charge the phones.
The breakfast was amazing; it exceeded any of our expectations. The quality and quantity of options was fantastic; the breakfast alone make this hotel worth booking! The room was large, clean, and comfortable. It was like staying at your grandmother's home; I wouldn't have changed a thing. If/when I return to Edinburgh, I will be coming back to St. Valery!
I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever regarding this establishment.
The bed was uncomfortable. The mattress collapsed. Too soft. Ceiling needs painting.
