Disappointing Experience - Avoid This Hotel After more than 18 hours of travel, we arrived at Ibis Hunter Square expecting a smooth check-in, having confirmed our stay well in advance. However, upon arrival, we were told our reservation had been moved to a sister hotel a few blocks away. This was false, as my confirmation clearly showed the reservation was for Hunter Square. It quickly became apparent that the hotel had sold our room for the night and tried to cover it up by claiming the other hotel’s rooms were “bigger and better”—which was a blatant lie. At 1 AM, exhausted from our journey, we had little choice but to accept. The next day, we were finally moved back to our original reservation, only to find that the standards of both hotels were vastly different. This felt like a typical bait-and-switch. They initially tried to offer a 10% discount as compensation, which was far from acceptable given the situation. After pushing harder, we managed to get almost 40% off, which was the bare minimum we could expect after this ordeal. This hotel is not worth the trouble. It charges five-star prices for a three-star experience. There are plenty of better options in the area, and I highly recommend looking elsewhere. The staff was completely incompetent and did little to resolve the situation until we insisted on fair treatment. Avoid this place if you can.
