Cons: Hotel temps uneven, blankets too thick.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel. Good breakfast
Cons: No fault if the hotel is across the street from a park where a rock concert played until 2am. It was soooo noisy
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and friendly
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel for a short time in Calafate. Good breakfast. Very clean. Perfectly adequate for us. Great value
Cons: Through no fault at all of the hotel there was a large and very very very loud music festival taking place in the outdoor arena which is directly across the street from the hotel. It was heavy metal/electronic music and there wasn’t a quiet spot in the hotel. One night the music continued at full volume till 2am and we had an early start. The next night it continued to 1am. So little sleep was had. Pity as typically it would have been pretty quiet for a close in hotel. All the hotels in the area would have the problem with the music.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Underfloor heating in bathrooms was a nice touch, very clean
Cons: The coffee at breakfast!
7.0 Good
Pros: Located on the main street in El Calafate, free internet, excellent support from the front desk to book trips, taxi arrangement, etc. Very nice staff, I would stay their definetely one more time
Cons: Breakfast was very basic, it could be due to the low hotel occupancy since season did not started

Pros: Very clean and modern space. Staff was nice and helpful
Cons: Breakfast was not that great:/ stale cake, cereal, and cut up fruit. Also if in a private room, we could not take the key outside of the hostel and had to return it to the front which I thought was a weird and annoying policy especially when people weren’t at the front. Overall good though
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, right next to the bus terminal and not so far from the city center by walk. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was ok.
Cons: If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this might not meet your expectations as there was always loud music in the lobby that we could clearly hear from our room.

Pros: Jeannie (I believe that was her name) and her mother run this cute hotel in the charming town of El Calafate. They have a beautiful dog named Blanca they adopted who was roaming the streets until they brought her in and showered her with their love. You can see that same love in the hotel/apartment as this was the MOST CLEAN hotel we have ever stayed at....anywhere! The room was spacious and exactly what we needed after a long drive from El Chalten, and we got great recommendations for close supermarkets, restaurant recommendations (go to Pura Vida around the corner and order the stew that comes in a pumpkin!) and how to get to the Perito Moreno glacier easily. In the morning they opened breakfast early for us and were made some fresh eggs which wasn't on the breakfast menu....so nice! I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and get treated like family. Thanks Linda Vista!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay. The hosts are very accommodating and super helpful. Our flight was diverted due to fog and we landed 4 hours away and had to take a bus arriving at 2am. Susan stayed up and welcomed us which was lovely and then organised all our tours. Room was cosy and warm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Linda Vista-family is very warm en helpfull! They helped us with our tour to Perito Moreno and called a taxi when we left. Their daugther gave us a lot of information about our next destinations in Argentina and Chile. The apartments are very clean and spacious. The breakfast is very tasty! We highly recommend Linda Vista.
Cons: We liked everything about our stay in Linda Vista.

Pros: The staff was amazing. She provided reccommendations and was very helpful! The breakfast was complimentary and good. There were 5 of us and we fit great in the apartment.

Pros: Very well maintained cottage style accommodations with super friendly host. Nicely appointed, sparkling clean, with a lovely little garden. Within walking distance to the Lagoon Nimez where we observed flamingoes, black-necked swans and many other birds. Also close to the main road, Av. de Libertador, with shops, restaurants and tour organizers. Host served a nice breakfast! I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Nothing to dislike. It was perfect for us#
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is our second time stay, we were here last year and love this place. The cabanas are family owned and the owner Guillemo is hard working and friendly. The cabana shows it is been well cared, it is very clean and everything is in great condition. It's in a very quiet part of the town and very close to the lake, we took a walk after dinner along the lake and saw a lot of water birds, such as black neck swan and pink birds(flamingo?).
Cons: nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cosy apartment with all required amenities; Guilhermo is extremely helpful and friendly, really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: It’s a little far from city center but accessible by walking or taxi. Also views of the lake are beautiful.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: nice and helpful owner, good breakfast... the stay was happy. it will be better if you have a car to live here.
Cons: far from the downtown. when we back from minitreking to downtown, it was around 21.40, and after a late dinner, it was totally dark. walking back along the empty and dark steet for 20mins is not a good experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome from Guillermo and his lovely parents. Cosy and very well-equipped cabaña. We slept very well in the bed, enjoyed good breakfast with delicious sweet croissants. Everything is maintained very carefully and even room service existed every day; not normal in a cabaña, but highly appreciated. Even the kitchen equipment was perfectly cleaned. Wifi worked very well. Furrhermore we loved the nice bathroom, especially the shower. Cabaña Nene is well located a few steps away from Largo Argentino and only a nice 15 minutes walk into city center. We can highly recommend this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: guillermo is extremely nice. it is walking distance to the bird marshes with a gorgeous walkway. it is a bit far from the center though it is walkable. we had a car.

Cons: Few options on breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location close to town Breakfast and dinner available on cold days/nights Pick ups for tours to Glacier
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Natasha was just great at the reception. The room was clean and quiet. Good lunch boxes provided by the hotel, better, than the ones, we took from the trip agency.
Cons: The breakfast was very basic, a lot of bread and pastry, dough and sugar, be ready to get some weight:) no eggs and vegetables.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything just perfect, helpful staff working closely with travel agencies, hotel in the very center, but away enough from the noisy main street.
Cons: Monotonous breakfast, sweets and only white bread, but this is Argentina..
7.5 Good
Pros: an interesting building but somewhat worn. the room was spacious and clean.
Cons: I really had a problem with the male server at breakfast, The eggs are not precooked and you have to ask for it. I asked for 2 eggs and only one was served. I asked for one more and the male server was not willing. when I insisted, he gave in but virtually threw the plate on my table. I didn't have any problem withe the female server the day before when I asked for 2. 3 days later, I went back on my return to El Calafate. Same thing happened again. I asked for 2 eggs and only one was brought to me. Just I decided not to argue but reflect on booking.com's comment.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff who were able to arrange lots of things for us which made our trip very enjoyable. Clean rooms and warm too which was great as it was cold!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay with good staff speaking English and central to everything
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location and personal are great. A good restaurant in place with extended hours . The quality/ price is excellent
Cons: The heater (especially because you have a lot of windows that’s amazing) was really too hot The rooms were noisy
4.5 Okay
Pros: location and check-in
Cons: it was ver loud, breakfast is completely not edible, coffe smells awfully, there’s almost nothing to eat, avoid!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is great if you want to stay in a city center - we rented a car (Hertz) and it was just 5-10min away. If you’re coming with bus, the bus station is 2,5 km away but there are plenty taxis you can use (cc 4eur). The stuff is very friendly, specially the lady at the breakfast. Breakfast is classic, definitely nothing to complain about. Overall very good value for money.
Cons: We had some problems in Chalten with gas station and we had to stay there another night. Since I already booked Aca Hotel on a promotion price they didn’t want to change my reservation. It’s not a big deal but it would be a nice gesture if they could do me a favor. The rooms are a little bit cold and the walls very bad, you can literally hear snoring from the other room.

9.5 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decor that soothed the mind. Very friendly staff. Quiet at night, short walk to the lovely town, great empanadas! Nice grounds and a hop ski and a jump to the bus station!!
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything! The hotel is very nice inside and out, the room was big and comfy, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the food was delicious! We loved the empanadas and the sorrentinos we had for dinner. We also found very convenient that they offer "viandas" to take for excursions as some of the most interesting tours are full day and you will need to take your packed lunch. The location is actually ok. Is not in the city center so is a bit quieter and the shuttle from the airport dropped us almost 1st and picked us up almost last (meaning less time on the bus), but also means going to town for food or shopping is a good 15+ minutes walk away.
Cons: No air-conditioning! But is understandable as they usually have cold weather (they even have heating). Just so happens we were there during a short heatwave and we come from cold country so it felt a bit warm at night! Also the Wifi in our room was very slow and kept disconnecting, so sometimes we could use it properly and sometimes we couldn't even load Google.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean
Cons: Breakfast too small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and friendly staff.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super helpful staff. Location to bus station is excellent. A bit of a walk to town, but easily doable. Town is awesome. Wish we had more days here.
Cons: With a pastry cooking school in house you might expect some of these pastries to show up at breakfast. Wrong. Breakfast is okay, pastries were commercial over the counter store bought and average at best.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel, located 15 minutes (By feet) from the city center. Kind staff, fantastic breakfast. Possibility to rent a bike. Near to the bus station.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable room. Kind and helpful staff. Really tasty breakfast with homemade pastries, cakes etc. Good internet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was lovely - the rooms, the lobby, the breakfast area. The location was also great. Close enough to the bus station and close to town as well. The breakfast was fantastic. Homemade pastries, cakes and cookies, but also fruit and yogurt to add something healthy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late a night tired after long week hiking TdD and instantly looked after by kind staff. Breakfast was amazing. Staff were happy to store our luggage and let us sit in lobby area after checkout while we organised our car hire. We enjoyed the 10 min walk into town.

Pros: Bar, Spa
Cons: Room Service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable. The best part was the breakfast that is included. It's an incredible spread--the best I had while in South America.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent downtown location! The layout of the property - stores, spa, restaurant, bars, golf course are very unique. The "Parilla" served amazing dinners - lots of variety to choose from. Some meals were so large, the waiter suggested that we share it. Breakfast was very elaborate - choose from the buffet or the chef will cook on order for you. Staff were friendly and helpful. They prepare take out lunches if ordered ahead of time for the glacier trip. The gardens and property layout is wwell maintained - just beautiful.
Cons: That we had to go accross the street for the dining room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was professional and polite.
Cons: No complaints
9.3 Excellent
Pros: best hotel I have stayed in El Calafate
Cons: nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff has been terrific. Extremely helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Mostly ok
Cons: No tissues. Waitresses unfriendly
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Architecturally pleasing and grounds well maintained
Cons: We were given probably the worst room in the hotel. On the 1st floor with windows facing a noisy street and the room next to two rather old elevators that were in constant use from 4:30am making it impossible to sleep. Very noisy due to early departing guests. Mediocre breakfast. Unfriendly reception . Would not recommend this hotel even though it is rated as best in El Calafate.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very well located, beautiful gardens, excellent breakfast. The rooms should be updated and the mattress and pillows renewed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great experience! A lovely hotel , on extended grounds, beautifully built and decorated, excellent facilities, breakfast and restaurant. We received exactly what we asked for: a quiet room, high floor, nice view. We were sorry to leave.

Pros: Everything was incredible. Great location. Cozy environment. The staff were so helpful with everything, giving good recommendations and booking the tours for you. It was a great experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommended
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is the best hostel I've ever been. I felt like home here. The staff was absolutely kind and available for all our questions (and we had many). The common area is a dynamic and comfortable space with fireplace, stairs/seats double height space, wooden roof and huge windows facing the lake. All of this creates a cozy, warm and original atmosphere. It was a pleasure to spend some time there, it really made our staying in Patagonia memorable.
4.3 Okay
Cons: I was really disappointed about their service. I had the early morning flight, so I wanted them to book the shuttle bus to the airport, but it never happened. I asked about it for three times for 3 person, but their answers were not the same and they confused me a lot. This is the worst service I've ever had.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super helpful and friendly! The room was cozy and warm. The food was great! Everything about the place (especially given the low price) was excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole ambience is very nice and friendly. Although we stayed in the off season and the middle of winter there were still plenty of people staying. The BBQ meal was huge!!! so watch out.
Cons: The bedroom was way too hot for us to sleep in. The heated floor in the bathroom was awesome though. Would have been nice to be able to control the room temperature as we prefer cold rooms when sleeping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really helpful, knowledgeable staff –– happy to offer recommendations and book excursions for you. Our private room was nice! Clean and modern with a beautiful view, but the heated floors made us very hot.
Cons: Breakfast was really simple (toast and tang) and not quite what you're hoping for before a long day of hiking.
6.8 Good
Pros: Heated floors were efficient.
Cons: Room cleaning - non existent. Food - not many choices. Breakfast- worse than a prison camp. Worst breakfast in my 40 years of international travel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect!

Pros: A street back from the Main Street so perfect location!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, room spacious.
Cons: Walls are paper thin and we could hear lots of noises. They use a room scent that is very strong and unnecessary.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable rooms !! I’ll be back again
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location great. Free shuttle to and from town. Nice quiet resort
Cons: The dinner in the restaurant was terrible. Soup cold and bland. Main meals almost inedible. Only good entree out of 4 was risotto Service very slow and restaurant not close to being full
5.5 Okay
Pros: Great view
Cons: Absolutely not a 5 stars hotel. At max a 3 stars. Prepare to arrive in a charmless hotel, it looks like one of those old mid-range chain hotels, with furnitures and style 20 years old. The breakfast is extremely poor with no quality food (all from cheap industrial brands). DO NOT take their lunchbox for your day excursion: this is expensive and absolutely uneatable, except from the apple. When you go to Perito Moreno, you will find a “restaurant”, chose this option. Rooms are extremely noisy, you’ll hear the movie from the neighbor’s bedroom (and we were in a large suite). As “5 stars” service comes, don’t expect here even a courtesy bottle of water in your room, you can only have the one from the minibar at horrendous prices. This hotel does not deserve anything better than 3 stars because the staff was nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, specially staff and. spa
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good staff. Nice view.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: The gym poorly equipped. The game room lacked games.
7.7 Good
Pros: The indoor-outdoor pool is very cool. The breakfast is pretty good, and you can even order a lunch to go (have to do it the night before) if you're taking a trip that day, which is a very nice feature. You also get a welcome drink when you check in.
Cons: For a "deluxe suite" the rooms are average. The location isn't great, but the hotel shuttle is very dependable. If you take the bus from the airport, you'll be one of the last dropped off (and one of the first picked up on your way back). On the plus side, if you're heading to the glacier, you're be one of the last on and first off.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: absolutely awful and rude front desk service. the coldest people i encountered the entire trip and overall for a long long time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from our window was spectacular
Cons: The rooms had a “generic” feel to them; it did not feel as though we were in a Five Star Hotel. Breakfast was mediocre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great lake view, outdoor bbq, every hour shuttle service to the town a bonus.
Cons: Cann't think of.
Los Ponchos Apart Boutique - El Calafate - Building
11
9.1 Excellent (132 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The hotel is located in the Barrio Manantiales in front of Lake Argentino, 2 km or 5 minutes by car from a shopping centre and 200 metres from Principal Avenue. The centre of El Calafate is about 2 km away. Los Glaciares National Park is about 80 km from the establishment. The complex has 43 squares that are divided into 8 parts, an apartment and a cottage. It also has two spacious glass conservatories, reminiscent of their English counterparts, overlooking the garden from where guests can enjoy a good breakfast, tea or just a quiet read (the hotel also offers a specialised library with Patagonian themes). The warm décor enforces and restores the values and traditions of a rich culture that is not to be forgotten. The Spanish-American art collection makes any stay at the hotel a truly Argentine experience. The highly personalised service and the quality and comfort of the facilities ensure guests enjoy a warm and different hotel experience. Built in 2009, there are 10 accommodation units in total at this aparthotel. Guests are welcomed in the lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services and a hotel safe. Guests can enjoy a drink in the bar and wired and wireless Internet access, room service, a laundry service (for a fee) and bicycle hire are also available. All apartments are en suite with a shower and hairdryer. In-room amenities include a double bed, direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, a safe and central heating units. A kitchen with minibar, fridge, cooker and microwave also features as standard. Guests can discover the surrounding area on bikes. There is also a pebble beach nearby. The hotel serves breakfast each morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elegant and well-run place, the breakfast was delicious and we truly felt at home. Thank you to all the team.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the highlight of our month holiday I chile and Argentina. Being pampered and feeling at home are key points of this property. The staff makes you feel special and takes care of everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff went out of their way to help us. All staff spoke excellent English, and made arrangements for tours. The breakfast was delicious.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and excellent service. Rooms very comfortable, neat and clean and a tasteful and stylish deco.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Sorted a great glacier trip for us on short notice
7.5 Good
Pros: Overall, the resort was beautifully & tastefully decorated. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The views were wonderful.
Cons: What is pretty surprising is how awful the mattress was. If one person moved (at all), the other person would instantly know it. A very cheap and crappy mattress. Also, the pillows were cheap and too hard; it affected our ability to get a decent night's sleep. So...they put all that money into decorating the resort but forgot the most important thing--a good night's sleep!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very clean, good maid service. Breakfast was good and served promptly. I love the decor in the main foyer, it's too bad it's not extended to the rooms.
Cons: I travel a lot, 6 times a year and this property didn't meet my expectations at all, especially for the price at 275USD per night. We were not greeted properly by the host, she just stared at us when we walked in and asked, "what are you doing here?" it was very awkward, my response being "check-in", host "Oh!". Zero customer service skills. Totally threw me off. Upon viewing the loft I was pretty disappointed, it is not twin beds but a pull-out couch and you sleep in the already crowded living area. The living area is quite cramped for 3 small adults. You expect this unobstructed view of the Lago Argentino but now there is a massive house across the street now. The bathroom is small and shower stall leaked with a poor shower head that shot in different directions, water pressure insufficient. Breakfast improved over our 3-night stay but the croissants remained, in my opinion, undercooked and the first day they served us a half a piece of bacon each. The maid was very thorough in cleaning almost to a fault, she would move things around, put things away that we wanted left out and we spent 20 minutes looking for my gloves which I had intentionally set out to prepare for an early morning outing. Location is fine if you have a car but it is a couple kilometers from town. This was the worst of all the places we stayed on our 3-week vacation around Argentina and I would not recommend it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good service, very nice looking building, friendly reception, flexible arrangement for breakfast
Cons: Room for 4 the 2 extra beds are of a "small size", not so good for adult of teenagers. Hot water is running out very quickly, not enough to take shower for 4 one after another. Construction in front is spoiling the view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely five star accommodation with a most welcoming and helpful staff. Booked a return visit before we left property. Excellent home away from home!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We have appreciated the attentions of the hotel staff during all our stay at Los Ponchos. Wonderful apart hotel, we recommend it ! Wonderful breakfast also, prepared and dedicated to each guest.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Madre Tierra exceeded our expectations! We had an amazing stay and really felt cosy and at home. Mariano made us feel extra welcome and was super helpful arranging airport transfers and local tours at short notice. The breakfast was also great!
Cons: Everything was great! There was nothing we didn't like.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: For the price of the day rate, I believe breakfast should be included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were excellent and staff even better! The fresh homemade breakfast every morning helped to start the day in a great mood. The location is superb and it is close to many fantastic places to eat! Highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thought “Nancy” was most gracious and helpful. We really liked the staff member who served us breakfast very much.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very polite and accommodating, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was superb! I loved the hot coffee with hot milk and the baked goods. Veronica made eggs on order as well. Mariano booked a catamaran tour to the glaciers that was very well run and better than the ones you typically book over the internet. Also, this boutique hotel is in downtown Calafate, only 2-3 blocks walk from the main street and a few blocks walk from other sites so it is very well located. Overall, great experience.
Cons: I had a single room because I was traveling alone. The room and its bathroom was on the small side and it could be claustrophobic for some people. It had all the amenities though (comfortable bed, private bathroom, hot/cold water, shower, hairdryer, outlets for plugging electronics, etc).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service. Excellent location to high quality restaurant options. Helped me make reservations for dinners. Staff was knowledgeable about excursions and made good recommendations. Nice showers.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Manager was helpful organizing car for us to visit glacier and go to airport during very brief visit. Staff were friendly, room was clean. Location was perfect.
Cons: Room was small and bathroom was so small that toiletries for two of us had to be kept outside. Breakfast was very limited, better to avoid and go to one of many adjacent coffee shops. Breakfast for two cost as much as dinner with wine at one of the best restaurants in El Califate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host and the crew is extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast is great. We immediately felt at home and had a great holiday in El Calafate!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This has a cute little bread and breakfast vibe. Staff is very friendly and the owners are great. No complaints (and if you are coming from the US, you can pay in US dollars so you don’t have to exchange for a ton of pesos).

Pros: The location is so convenient, around the corner and up a slight hill from the main drag in El Calafate. The desk staff were extremely helpful with all of our questions and helped with transportation arrangements. The breakfast was simple but very fresh and easy - with scrambled eggs available upon request! The room and bathroom were basic but perfectly fine. I enjoyed sitting in the sun out in the back garden and reading. Great value for money.

Pros: The receptionist was very nice when we came to check in, she helped us decide which tours to do, and booked them all really quickly. She booked our airport transfer too. Small and quiet hostel, breakfast was all we could ask for, but other meals you need to go into the town for. Overall lovely stay!

7.5 Good
Pros: Carlos was excellent - helped us with info on the area and various activities. Overall place is well laid out and clean and reasonably convenient location.
Cons: 1. Internet connectivity was very poor in the rooms. 2. A property of this caliber should have some tea/coffee facility like a kettle etc in the rooms

Pros: Good location
Cons: No air con. Heating on when temp was 28. degrees Centigrade. Poor food and service in Restaurant. No bar. Long check in and out.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, nice restaurant and comfortable rooms describe this place . Everything in Patagonia is a little more expensive but we were satisfied with what we paid here. Easy 5-10 min stroll to where the shops and restaurants are, so good location.
Cons: The rooms and place are a little dated but clean nonetheless
6.3 Good
Cons: We had abnormal hot days and the hotel is not prepared for that. It was hot at night and mosquitoes came in. Our room did not have a view.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, with a great view on the lake. Breakfast was correct, location is good to go to Perito Moreno, maybe a little bit far from the town if you don't have a car
Cons: Wifi connection is really bad, in the room but also in the lobby. If you need to work with your computer forget this nice location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, beautiful view, friendly staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location is great for the views. A bit outside of town so you need to expect to take a taxi but it is a quick 5 to 10 min ride ($AR250 approx). Rooms are spacious and beds comfy. Overall, the staff was professional.
Cons: The rooms (and the hotel in general) seem old dated and need to be refurbished, especially all wood material (doors, windows and furniture). Clean in general but some dead insects or some dirty spots in the sink (room 5) The shower head doesn't work properly (the pressure is too high) and need to be changed. Also there is nothing to tap the bathtub hole if you want to have a bath. A bit noisy since thin walls and doors. Only one plug in the bathroom - need to have more. The room was really too hot sometimes even though only the heated floor was on. Breakfast was ok but the staff need to be more attentive: they waited more than 15 min before cleaning out some tables so in the end we couldn't sit by the windows. A lot of potential given the location but lots of details need to be improved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent VFM. Great view good food.
Cons: Nothing, was awesome for the price. Need a car to get here though.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Efficient laundry service. Nice rooms - no tea/coffee making facilities. Bathrooms are good - good water pressure etc.
Cons: A long way out of town - not a nice walk. Very noisy at night - can hear everyone walking around/snoring/opening doors. Average breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view from our room overlooking Lago Argentino. The room was large and very comfortable, and our stay was extremely relaxing. Incredible staff were accommodating and friendly. Delicious meals included plenty of variety. Our favorite part of the stay was meeting Negro, the sweetest dog who lived on the property. The location was just outside of the town. We had a rental car and easily made our way into town, and we also enjoyed walking down to the lake front.
Cons: The wifi was weak which was a bit inconvenient, but that was very common to the entire region. We could not get the satellite TV to work, but also did not ask for assistance as it was very late evening. Neither situation detracted value from our stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from the balcony is amazing also staff is very helpful . Rooms are really clean and in good condition
Cons: Dinner is so expensive and didn’t meet our expectations. Wifi is really slow .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was continental. No hot food which I was expecting to have.
Cons: Breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It’s very nice property with good rooms and great view. It’s not centrally locates but if you like nice walk along the lake - it’s perfect.
Cons: I think the breakfasts should be improved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed extra comfy. Amazing view. Great location. Huge bedroom. Many thanks for the gift.

Pros: Central location, rooms with spacious showers inside, lockers, nice warm rooms.. not too hot not too cold, I booked it without breakfast but it looked pretty good. There’s a good restaurant attached... try la hamburguesa de Cordero!!! Omg.. so delicious!!!
Cons: I know I went in winter season but Hostel vibe was below 0. This hostel is great if you don’t want to talk to anybody, it seemed more for families than for solo travelers. Staff was helpful but something was missing... dunno like more attitude... good vibes.. it was more just like another job. Big kitchen but not fully equipped. Spacious common areas no one in them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very warm and clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
Cons: N/A
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice staff
Cons: The restaurant was not good. Breakfast was very poor. We wand to order fruit that was on the menu. But they did not have it. I order cola, the gave me a bottle but no glass. The where not friendly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location Staff name Jen, is the best! She provide every tour information with good price. Airport pick up is a plus! (Cheaper than buy at airport) Breakfast is great, full basic option.
Cons: Dormitory room is smelly Wifi signal in bedroom is very weak and unstable in lobby.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable with underfloor heating (a double room en suite) . It was clean and fresh in a new building that is well maintained
Cons: All good really. Packed lunch sandwich bread a bit ‘doughey’ overall fair
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location, authentic cabin.
Cons: The guy in the reception claimed that the telephone line was down and they could not handle a credit card. Which was an obvious lie and quite an unnecessary one. Just a way to make an extra 20% of tourists.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Restaurant was very bad with unfriendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decent size room, friendly staff, restaurant attached, breakfast was very good. Good value for money
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked how comfortable and clean the rooms were. The shower was amazing !
Cons: I didn’t like the breakfast, the pastries were stale and as hard as rocks. Also I wish there had have been some fruit. However that was charged as an extra. I would have liked to be able to control the temperature of the rooms. They were far to hot inside, considering the outside temperature wasn’t that cold. We had to have a window open, as it was that hot.

Pros: A Quiet area but easy walk to town, very spacious comfortable rooms and beds with an excellent breakfast included. The restaurant offered a varied menu and comfortable seating, the staff was helpful and friendly.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good brekfast..very good cervice of the staff
Cons: Room is a bit smal
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room Comfortable sitting areas Garden was green and spacious although very simple - Calafate is green compared to everywhere else we visited in Patagonia and the street are well paved A nice hotel in an oasis
Cons: Over stuffed pillows but they were replace with slightly softer ones Very slow service in bar/restaurant area but a comfortable place to sit
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff, comfortable beds, quiet area
Cons: Bit of a walk into town for meals
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location at the entrance of the town. Few minutes walk from the center. Rooms are beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. Superb bed with good bedding and big mattresses. One of the best we had during our 3 weeks travels in South America. Comfy common areas. Restaurant is reputed to be one of the best addresses in town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Every lady got a few mini fresh flowers to put in the pot in the room. Small but such a nice gesture.
Cons: Lunch packs could be improved a bit. Sandwiches were a bit dry.. The rest was spotless and really can't add anything to this.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A lovely ranch hotel
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful with bus ticket bookings. The breakfast was good with plenty of fresh fruit. The grounds were nice and the short walk to town is not too long.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are nicely sized with comfortable beds and roomy bathroom. There is plenty of space to roam around the hilly property.
Cons: This property is a 10 minute walk to the city center and my partner was unexpectedly needing a wheelchair (which the hotel didn't have nor could they locate one) so this made our stay more challenging. This is NOT a reflection of the property or staff but just happened to be our unexpected challenge. The hotel staff never mentioned their nicer restaurant up the hill which we thought was unusual.
6.8 Good
Pros: The grounds are pretty, the decor, the location
Cons: For the price we paid this hotel needs serious updating. Beginning w the internet which worked only in the lobby intermittently to the toilets which did not flush- this hotel should not be charging what they charge for mediocre facilities. Plenty of other accommodations at this price tomchoose from that have services that worked much better. Beds were also uncomfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel and nice room.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel managers were friendly and helpful. They gave us information that was very relevant to our needs.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet, private room compared to our previous accommodation in El Calafate (hostel with 4 dorm beds.)
Cons: The staff was aloof, limited selections at breakfast (the picture in the listing is NOT breakfast) - when we asked for another scrambled egg, the lady said there was a 1 egg per person limit even thought there was no one else eating in the dining room. Our room was a bit stuffy. There was no kitchen facilities available but they can store things for you in their refrigerator.
6.8 Good
Pros: Quiet place, hot shower, good parillia in one block
Cons: Bad wifi (as usual in Argentinian Patagonia), a little far from center, but this is not a problem at all if you have a car!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet location, helpful owner
9.3 Excellent
Pros: When I arrive, they give all the information that I need to prepare my 4 days in El Calafate. It was great
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. The room is very comfortable and clean. Quiet hotel surrounding.
Cons: Location is a bit far from city center and bus terminal.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very correct hotel, with a good breakfast. It's near to the bus terminal, what makes the hotel a good choice for a rest before or after a trip to El Chaltén or Torres del Paine (via Puerto Natales).
Cons: The rooms are small, but it's a practical accomodation. The downtown is a little far (15 minutes walk). With strong winds, cold weather or rain, it would be an unpleasant walk.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfasts - fresh fruit, yogurt, corn flakes, medialunas, bread. They packed a good lunch for us to go to perito Moreno (ham sandwich, apple, water) the morning of as well - just ask in advance. Front desk fluent in English, staff very nice. Think room had heated floors too!
Cons: The layout of the hotel is such that in the mornings, it's hard to sleep in - we were on the first floor and could bear others in the hallway/lobby starting around 7am. Also, there are three restaurants very close, two of which were recommended, but most of the restaurants and stores are downtown, which took about 20mins to walk to. Not a big deal if you are getting picked up and dropped off for all your activities or if you're good with the restaurants nearby.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, helpful staff. Excellent room, good view, excellent information provided by staff about locations of events and sites. Everything was well organised and explained
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accommodation: location near bus terminal and the centre yet up on the hill for a quiet sleep. Cristina was very professional, gave clear and ample information about restaurants and sites. The night employee Pablo was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable, spacious and the breakfast one of the best of our SA trip. Wifi was on and off, the only inconvenience but everything else is perfect.
Cons: Weak wifi

7.0 Good
Pros: Location is beautiful, view of the lake is spectacular. Staff is friendly and helpful. Design of the hotel and its rooms is nice.
Cons: Location is not practical if you don’t have your own car or are not part of a tour group. Center of town is too far to walk and food options in the vicinity of the hotel are very limited (none, really). There is a shuttle twice per day but the times were inconvenient for us. WiFi didn’t work because of a ‘problem with the provider’, we were there for 4 days and it looks like the provider didn’t fix the issue. They said it was a problem all over town because it was overcast that day but if I were them I’d look for a different provider because WiFi was working fine in the restaurants we visited. There was a very limited selection of flyers for activities or day trips in the lobby and none of the most popular ones. In combination with the WiFi problem and the distance from the town center we found this a problem because we only had the very short descriptions or even price lists from a folder of a local tour operator they work with to base our choices on. The design of the rooms is beautiful, but quality of construction and maintenance is lacking: the tv isn’t mounted straight, same goes for the bathroom tiles. The reading lights almost fell from the wall. Tiles in our bathroom were cracked and the spa bath + shower looked so gross we didn’t want to shower there much less use the spa functions. The carpet was stained and there was dust on some features near the ceiling.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Comfortable beds and good location with an excellent view of the lake. But bad service. Front desk not making reservations or giving us appropriate messages from tour agencies who changed times for our tours which could have caused us to miss the tours and almost caused us to not have anywhere to eat for Christmas Eve!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Swim pool
Cons: Bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great views from the lobby. Our room did not have one though.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful architecture and location, and the breakfast is good and restaurant staff were lovely. The place is also clean. Would I come back? Yea, but not at full price.
Cons: This place needs a little more love. Our room was in a general lack of maintenance. It's a shame that this entire place is not better kept because you can tell it used to be amazing when it was new!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was amazing. Really a “retreat” place. Highly recommended to get this hotel when in El Calafate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view on the lake, extremely spacious room and bath, very clean and friendly staff, nice breakfast, free welcome drink. It is about 5mins by car to the city center but that is no problem at all since they have free shuttles from the hotel or if you book any tour they pick you up and drop you off at the hotel. So it is definitely worth being more remote and right by the lake. Loved my stay here.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful dining
Cons: The room was hot the air conditioning wasn’t working well
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great for the lake view
Cons: 1) Room is too cold - seem like heater is not powerful enough. I have to request for extra blanket. 2) Wifi connection is unstable 3) A bit not so impressive about checkout experience. I have paid bill for dinner separately however hotel still billed me at checkpoint. I have to spend time to explain and identify which staff that collected dinner's bill for me 4) A bit far from downtown, hotel also offered free transfer service (which is great). However, the transfer schedule back to hotel is at 11:15pm (a bit too late)

Cons: they charged us 26$ for a LAUNDRY just to wash few things. Not good.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Room was overheated; lots of mosquitos; generally an old building you can tell
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very attractive building, with a pleasant lounge and a big comfortable bedroom (superior room). Very clean. About 20-30 mins walk into town but several restaurants etc closer by. Easy 2 minute walk down to lake promenade. Staff were pleasant and helpful, several spoke English. Variety of croissants/pasties/ toast/ cereals with cheese and ham for breakfast.
Cons: This hotel has a requirement to supply a copy of your passport in advance of the trip, which we did not experience at any of our other Argentina/Uruguay hotels. No coffee available in the afternoon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lake view from the room was spectacular!! We walked to the bay(2 bloks) and to downtown area (2km) quite a few times, it does not feel far at all!!! Staff were very kind and room was very clean and cozy!!! We'll come back one day!!!
Cons: Breakfast is acceptable but a bit simple. There were no media lunas, yogurt, nor fruit salad or fresh juice. Altough for short stay is really okay coz all other things are perfect!!!
7.5 Good

Cons: Breakfast is really poor.
6.2 Good
Pros: the staff was nice , and the price is ok
Cons: Uncomfortable bed Very small bathroom with no fan so you see the damage of humidity. Needs a makeover. 5-10 minutes by foot to the center, not so bad.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really stunning with beautiful lake views The room are very nice looking too, big and comfortable The hotel is towards the last ones on the road to Perito Moreno so you can sleep in a little later if you go via organised tour :-) you can book it via the hotel the day before you arrive (or before), their recommended agency is super professional!
Cons: The wifi gives you a small signal but doesnt really work and would have been nice to have a mini fridge Also i was very much looking forward to having a bath but you can t actually use the bath tub and there isnt a plug
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The friendly staff and the cleanliness.
Cons: The linen of the shower curtain should have some weight on the bottom so it doesn't move during a shower, the bathtub is narrow and the curtain inflate inwards and makes the space smaller and uncomfortable. During the shower and because I was fighting with the curtain, the water filtered out and I found a huge puddle in the bathroom after the shower.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is beautiful and cozy, friendly staff, room clean. Beautiful lake view. A restaurant that serves great food is annexed to the hotel. This is very convenient to dine after coming back from daily excursions. The hotel is great value for money.
Cons: Internet could be better
