Everything and staff
nice room, no nice smell, who knows who hosted before, very nice receptionist, parking in the yard. For one night accommodation in transit to Turkey is ok!
The smell of the room!
The bedding was clean. No mould on the sheeets
The bathroom stank. There was black mould on the walls and door, grime around the toilet, lumps of dried excrement on the toilet brush and even the handle. Several surfaces in the room had thick layers of dust. -------- When I tried to complain, staff spoke 'no English'. After 3 days, I finally got hold of a woman who seemed to be the manager... and she considered the state of the roon normal. "A woman cleans all rooms - what do you want?" She didn't even apologise. Eventually, she offered to move me to a different room, but that would be 'cleaned' by the same woman. ------ I wish staff would spend less time twisting towels into fancy shapes and more time cleaning.-------------- The room and facilities described on booking.com aren't matched by reality. There are many misdescriptions. E.g. 'we speak English' and 'all rooms have access to a patio' are false. There are also many extra charges for services not marked as extra charge on booking.com. In the folder where other hotels provide useful information about the locality and the facilities, I found a list of charges I would have to pay if I damaged anything - from light switches to pillow cases - so I spent my first hour checking all the light switches and such, lest I got charged for them. I found the inventory didn't even match the reality of the roon, so I wonder if they make their money by charging guests for 'vanished' items. ----- After three nights, I escaped. A local friend helped me book into another (clean!) hotel in the town. ---- Normally hotels in Bulgaria are spotlessly clean. I've stayed in many hotels, hostels and guest houses, and all of them were spotless. Only this place is grimy.
The room was good.
I didn't like settling down to sleep at 11.30 to be woken up by guests arriving at 12.00, particularly as someone, possibly the receptionist was wearing high heels which were loud on the hard floors. I then heard the receptionist and a man talking very loudly and again the high heels. by 1.00 or later not being able to get to sleep for the continuous noise I went downstairs and found the receptionist talking to another guest, an elderly man, across the lobby where he was sitting smoking and drinking coffee and watching tv. I was very cross and asked them to stop making such a noise to which the receptionist said she had to talk loudly because he was deaf. Eventually they did stop talking. The next day I told the owner and she said this man does this every night because he can't smoke in his room. I said this wasn't fair on other guests but she just said it was a matter of choice.
Friendly staff , helpful, excellent food and service, the bed not the best, but it was my choice
