Good location for cable car station and downtown (both 5 min. Downhill walking).
The owner of the hotel was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Unfortunately smoking is still not illegal in public places in Switzerland and the hotel smelled strongly of fresh and stale tobacco smoke. If you are a smoker it would not be a problem.
It's nice familly run hotel with a 'biergarten' beside it. The night we stayed there it was a bit noisy, everything else is ok.
Great staff, central location Not really, all was good
It was close to the lifts up to the Glacier For the price not a good value compared to others in this part of Switzerland
Room was very spacious, if spare. The staff (a one-woman show) very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was very tasty. Close to the cable-car station. A bit of a hike from the train station. Shower a bit cramped, but that is normal for Europe.
Rosmarie Frei was extremely helpful, friendly and informative. Hotel was convenient to all amenities and easy to find. No.
the biergarten with good meals. steak with pepper sauce is very good
Decent breakfast, good location (close to the cable car), restaurant on site.
Very nice atmosphere and people managing the hotel. I felt like at home ...
There is a common room where you can play board games with your group. Hotel is in the middle of the village. Despite the steep road it is a convenient location. There was no soap in the bathroom when we checked in. Although they have the equipment, they do not want Swiss residents to pay with a credit card.
Very friendly and relaxed
The owner spoke very good English and was very helpful and welcoming when we arrived. Very good breakfast buffet and our room had a fantastic view of the mountains and valley below. Wi-fi access was available and free. All in all a very nice Swiss hotel that was very clean and had a nice homely atmosphere. n/a
Good breakfast but no "Gipfelies" In South Africa, the Hotels have facilities to make coffee or tea in the hotel rooms. We miised this especially in the evenings before going to bed.
The view of the mountains was superb... No tea- or coffee-making fascilities in the room...
Hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with recommendations for restaurants and information about the pistes in the area. Assistance with luggage to and from the cable car would be useful, as this would be more difficult for families or the less able, even if it meant simply borrowing a sledge.
good position within the town, comfortable room with balcony. Staff were helpful with recommendations for walks, where to dine etc. They spoke good english. The only thing I would hope they changed is the soap in the bathroom; worst ever.
The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful with all of our requests. The breakfast was quite nice and served until 11, which was nice! The room was big, modern and had a super view of the mountains. The restaurant was also quite good - dinner was excellent! Wellness Oasis was big and very well kept.
The welness center with large bathtub with whirlpool and airpool hydromassage system. We enjoyed it coming back from the long trip to the glacier ridge. We were 2 adults and 1 child of 3 y.o. The publicized price included breakfast and the child in the room. But at the moment of the payment of our 2 days stay we had a surcharge of 80 CHF for the child breakfast, corresponding at the 40 % of the room price.
The situation of the hotel. Announced as 4star hotel we had a tiny room (Nr 235) a bathroom 75cm large and 2 m long, when the door was closed it was not possible to use it. As weel a wc was in the bathroom but while using your head is almost in the zink. Even the hairdryer had no space it was using the towelhokders.,Shokking for 4stars. At checkout we had 1 night reduction due to this room. Whenever you booking this hotel do not accept room 235 or equals.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. After a hard days hiking it would have been nice to get room service for light meals but the hotel does not have a restaurant; good restaurants are newby however.
nice room and bathroom it was only possible to have braekfest;mybe the can put an thea/coffeemachine in the room
Beautiful, spacious and perfectly clean rooms and bathrooms, nice location, very good breakfast buffet. The wireless internet connection was not working in our room.
We had two adjoned rooms, both beautiful and big, each with balcony, very clean and the staff was helpfull and friendly. The hotel looks actually much nicer from the outside than on the photo.
nice location, could use the pool at the sister property There were a number of issues we were less than happy with but I'd like to focus on just the most important one. The shower is unsafe and my wife fell and got badly hurt. The staff said this was the first time they'd heard of such a thing happening and provided an ointment to ameliorate swelling.
Warm welcome, clean and adequate rooms. We asked twice for the heating to be turned on, and it did not happen, so we were cold during the nights.
The lady in charge of the hotel was speaking english (not so common in that area) and was very friendly. We could stay in the bar even after the closing time. It is a bit far from the train station and the center. Since there is no dinner service at the hotel, you have to walk down to the restaurants. Our room was a bit dusty.
We chose this hotel for it's location and facilities -free internet, parking and breakfast. At the place , we noticed more : it's location in a beautiful area, the very pleasant , kind and helpful host, a good breakfast , plenty of information on local trips and holiday opportunities . Nice room with balcony with a direct view to Rhone river and mountains , basic but clean , warm, frigo ,wi-fi. After three days we decide to prolong our stay, and we got immediate approval from the hotel manger ,the charmante lady that made our stay very pleasant. We'll be back for sure .
Fantastic hotel! very friendly.
Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Wireless internet all over the hotel and a huge iMac in the dining room that is publicly available. Nice views from the rooms.
We liked the breakfasts , the beds were very comfortable and we had informative chats with the very friendly owners The only thing we didn't like is that the bedside lights were too bright so that when one of us wanted to sleep and the other one wanted to read that wasn't possible
very friendly staff, nice location, Internet facility The room was noisy due to the busy highway, but only during daytime.
Very friendly and helpful owner. Our room was comfortable and large.
The hospitality of the Dutch staff was excellent - they made us feel very welcome and helped us with numerous small queries. The room had a balcony and was quite comfortable. Good hot and cold water in the bathroom. The restaurant downstairs had a great menu range and the food was high quality. Only a short walk to a supermarket, bakery, post office, train station, cable car, etc. The free wireless Internet was very problematic, and the staff admitted this frustration. It was also unsecured. Free guest parking is provided, but a street or two away from the hotel (not a problem as you can still offload right outside).
We got a small room, unpretendingly but fully furnished, with bath and balcony; our stay was fine and confortable; hotel people was kind. Good food in hotel restaurant. Room lights and bath ventilation could be improved
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Family-run hotel, good value for money.
A good hotel, though pretty basic. They have quite a good restaurant downstairs. Good choice if you're staying for 1-2 nights for skiing/ trekking
I expected more quiet place, that was also mentioned in my booking conditions but not really understood.
Excellent and friendly owner, very motivated to make you feel good. Staff was friendly, very clean, good sauna. Great service, you feel home. Optimal location to piste and trainstation. The breakfast was not satisfying, there were often missing plates and food. The staff was untrained, the restaurant buffet did not have all that was promised on the menu cart. The preparation of food was very simple.
Location was outstanding. Wonderful view. Good food and wine. A lot of activities in the surroudings: paragliding, hiking, skiiing.
Excellent and friendly staff, willing to adapt to my peculiar dietary needs and to give extremely helpful advice for hiking routes. Very good access to the lift at Fiesch and one of the fastest hotel WiFis I have ever encountered. Would have liked ordinary tea/coffee in the room (rather than camomile) but that is a small point.
Very clean and very well maintained, friendly staff a little bit old-fashioned (70ies style)
friendly staff i was lead to believe that this hotel is a member of 'leading small hotels in the world', it is not so; it's just a small, old fashioned family hotel. seeing that i booked this hotel solely because i was mislead into thinking that it belongs to the LSH group, i am extremely disappointed. however, as a small 3* hotel, it's pretty good. I beg the hotel to change your description and not mislead people further!
Good size of room with amazing views. Comfortable bed. The hotel and room was very dated (1970's). Its not offen nowadays you have brown bathroom tiles and pink towles! A tea/coffee facility in the room would be nice
good breakfast, good service, clean facilities a bit too 'basic' for the price, but this was the height of the holiday season
Clean room with sufficient equipment (although minimum comfort).
very quiet location, easy access + parking, friendly staff, excellent food
Bread at breakfast was lovely and fresh. Nice and quiet area. The mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. The rooms were too warm. If you want to go skiing, I would recommend staying in Fiescheralp or Bettmeralp instead.
The staff was extremely kind and professional, the room was very clean and spacious, with a fantastic balcony. The restaurant offers high quality food. A cozy living room near the reception is perfect to meet other hotel guests. Many parking spots are available for hotel guests. Very minor comment: the light in the bathroom was a bit too weak.
Friendly staff with excellent food. A little far from the cable car but a good place to stay for skiing The rooms were misdescribed. I booked an apprtment with 2 bedrooms. What I got was 2 rooms which did not interconnect and were opposite one another
We liked the proximity to the local rail/bus station and also the cable car in Fiesch, perfect for access to mountain hikes. We had half-board and enjoyed the excellent and varied meals, with very pleasant service.
Pleasant if simple brasserie restaurant. Comfortable twin beds with duvets. Parking alongside. Convenient -- 5 minutes walk -- to the cable car up the Eggishorn. We arrived at 5 pm with a booking for two nights but had to cancel the second night immediately on receiving news of a friend's death. Although the cancellation was 24 hours in advance and the hotel did not appear full, we were charged a small (18 CHF) "commission." Although small, I did feel that this was somewhat unreasonable in the circumstances.
quit and beautifull location, friendly staff, great restaurant, enough parking facilities
Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, beautiful view from room
The swimming pool, Steam bath and sauna No
The balcony was covered and we had a very nice view on the beautiful mountains. Uniterested hotelowners and personel, bad dinner (à la carte ready within 5 minutes........) , bad matrasses, dirty floor in bathroom, bad aircirculation in bathroom, toilet hardly to reach in 1-personroom, toilets were not cleaned every day slippy floor in swimmingpool
The breakfast, the nice room and the position They don't speak english very much
easy to get to the cable car station needs updating looks a bit old
The hotel is conveniently only 100 m from the cable car valley station to Fiescheralp and the Eggishorn. For hikers, the printed weather forecast at the breakfast table was useful. The breakfast buffet was very good, including fresh fruit sallad. You could cook your own boiled eggs as you liked them. -
Hotel Kristall situated in the heart of Fiesch, Wallis - Switzerland enables visitors easy access to major tourist attractions all within walking distance. Glacier Express is a treat and the train station being only a 10 minute walk from the hotel, one cannot complain. The Aletsch Glacier, Europe's largest glacier and unesco World Heritage site is a must see and the gondola station is less than 5 minutes away from the hotel. Overall location of hotel was excellent. Hotel needs updating and staff speak very little English.
The hotel is actually at the top of the ski hill and the only way to get there is to take a chairlift and ski to it (one minute) or to walk up from Riederalp. It was a really cozy place, with decent sized rooms, nice bathrooms and showers that were shared, and in a great location. You just pop on your skis and off you go! The food was also really good and the service was great! You have to make sure you catch the last life up or you have quite a hike ahead of you in ski boots.
Very friendly staff, good food, and comfortable rooms. We would stay there again, and recommend it to friends - great location
