room was big and walls were thick. You cant hear your neighbors.
no shampoo and conditioner in the room
We had the traditional Japanese room which was huge with our window facing Mount Fuji. The room was clean but perhaps a little shabby. The hotel has a lovely location next to lake Kawaguchico but a good 15 or 20 mins walk from the station.
We only had one tiny piece of soap to use between us during our stay - as this wasn’t a cheap room we expected a little bit more in the way of toiletries
The Ryokan (Japanese-style hotel) was offered with great rates during our stay. The location was right across the lake and it was wonderful. The onsen itself was very good comparing to other hotels in Kawaguchiko. While Kawaguchiko is not a famous place for Onsen bath, Royal Hotel actually owns a very good bath for the visitors. The staff was the best feature of the Ryokan. They were all able to speak English fluently and it was very accommodating. We had a very nice dinner with the service they offered.
The hotel was very old and I'd say that it was long due for maintenance. The shuttle service was not provided when we were leaving. The front did inform us that the shuttle service only runs until the check-out time.
A lovely location on the lake.
Fittings and furniture a little run down. Staff and signage not overly informative. Breakfast not available at a reasonable cost. Typhoon was on the way and although we went down for dinner at 6 pm we were told we had to book by 5 pm. No one had informed us of this and as everything else had shutdown at 12 noon we went without dinner that night. Disappointing.
The location was good. My room had a nice view of Mount Fuji and the lake.
The facilities in shared dorm are not enough. Maybe not the best option for solo travellers if you want to socialize.
