Oike Hotel

The hotel is well equipped for foreign guests and is in a great location for those with a car. The onsen has a fantastic view of Mount Fuji, and the bath is spacious and also has a separate jacuzzi type of bath. The hotel is close to the Red Line bus from Kawaguchiko Station and is very near the bus stop and Kawaguchiko lake, making it great for a morning walk around the lake just as the sun is about to rise.

The futons at the hotel were comfortable, and the traditional Japanese room with futons was warm during winter. However, some guests found the beds to be uncomfortable, as they are essentially sleeping on the floor.

The hotel offers free parking, and it is easy to park in their big lot across from the hotel. The hotel also provides a shuttle service from Kawaguchiko Station, making it convenient for guests with cars.

The breakfast spread at the hotel has a wide variety of western-Japanese food, and the dinner Kaiseiki was delicious. However, some guests found that some of the breakfast items were cold, and the servings for dinner were small and not worth the value, especially for big eaters.

The hotel has spent a lot of money renovating their external appearance and main lobby area, but some guests found the rooms to be outdated and in need of work. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, and the service is impeccable. However, some guests found that the rooms were a bit tired and the futon wasn’t as comfortable as they've had in the past.
