Indoor pool was nice. Staff was helpful and kind Phone didnt work and there wasnt a tv remote. No big deal. Otherwise everything was great
Hotel was excellent from tome we walked in the door. My wife always judgsd a hotel upon entrance. The first thing you notice is the smell. The entire hotel smelled fresh when you walk in and you can tell it was very well kept. All of the amenities were nice and clean, staff was very courteous. My wife is from the area and we visit 3-4 times a year. We have found THE hotel for our visits from now on. Close to food, shopping, and the interstate. We chose this hotel based upon reviews of prior visitors and was not disappointed. Great job Fairfield, keep up the good work!
Room was new and clean. Nice size and great shower. Bed was comfortable and great linens. Well lit Did not like the check in. Arrived around 11pm. Was not allowed in the lobby. Had to converse with clerk through a heavy glass window even though we had a reservation. Could not hear or understand due to echo in vestibule. Paperwork crumbled up to fit through tiny opening. Lobby still not accessible at 6:15 am when we trying to get breakfast. Made us feel very unsafe.
Hotel over books and did not honor written contract. Group booked 22 rooms in Jan for April special event, faxed rooming list 3 weeks prior and hotel would only provide 19 rooms upon arrival. Had to take 3 couples to another hotel at much higher rate.
The TV didn't work so that killed anything that was good. The TV didn't work so that killed anything that was good.
This was our second time at the hotel for our 17th Wedding Anniversary. We could have chosen any other hotel in the surrounding area but after having stayed at another hotel last year where the service was horrible. We decided to revisit this hotel for our event again.Upon arrival the manager on duty was professional and greeted us with our key already available for pick up. She reminded us about the complimentary hi speed internet (which my husband loves) in our room, and popcorn that they pop fresh in the evening and also they have coffee , tea and juices in case you want something to drink later. The room was clean and the hallway was well lighted for security. All entranceways have to be accessed by your room key which is a great security measure. And it is convient to all of the restaurants, shopping districts. gas stations and getting back on the freeway is just mintes away. For the price of the hotel is very reasonable because of all of the other advantages that you get along with the hotel. The bed was just the most comfortable rest you can have in a room. Would I stay again you bet and I would also refer my family and friends to this establishment. If comfort, not over crowding, enjoyable rest is what you seek this is the hotel to plan in your stay. It may be a 2 star hotel but you get 5 star service every time you walk through the door.
I loved my room. Every evening when I returned to my room after a long day of work, the room was clean and smell good.
My family stays here 3 to 4 times a year. The room is always clean and the beds are the consistent comfortable sleep that Hampton Inns usually offer. Restaurants and shopping are nearby. Safe feeling area. Enjoyable stay for the money.
Beautiful/spacious room, very comfy bed, nice bathroom (beautiful shower) A little far from the interstate and restaurants, but still a convenient location.
I enjoyed the two beds and kitten plus a couch for around $100
The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Rooms are clean.
Staff very friendly Clean and comfy beds Free wifi and parking Breakfast was not good
needs more water pressure in shower
The staff was very friendly and supportive. The greeted us when we came and went. Breakfast was also a big plus and the variety was pretty good. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Although we were on the top floor, we didn't hear any noise from either guests on the sides of our room. Finally, I made a mistake booking our accommodations, and the staff worked with us to rectify our situation. Otherwise, we would have had to find another hotel. There wasn't any negative. Renovations were taking place, but we were told ahead of time of where they would be working.
Dirty sheets and tub. Room by the elevator. Heard the elevator go up and down
The location was great. Poor customer service. Poor house cleaning. Hot and cold water lines were crossed on the sink faucet. Unstable water temperature in the shower. The water temperature cycled from cold to hot. Caution had to be taken to prevent getting burnt by the hot water. Hotel staff ignored my complaints about the water. Nothing was done to solve the problem.
Staff was very helpful and really cared to make sure you stay way awesome. Ty really helped me out and was really nice. I wish the gym had weights as well.
Of course, the staff was great. But the construction made the entrance clog up.
Up dated room . Friendly staff .
I had a great experience from a the get-go, I arrived almost at midnight after a long drive from Oklahoma, the attendant at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Check-in was quick, easy. The rooms were great; spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was okay. More of a variety at the breakfast buffet would be nice.
We stayed at this Drury Inn on our way home to Nashville from Destin. After driving with 3 little ones (6 and under), we were very thankful not to have to go out for dinner. The kickback reception had very simple, but tasty food, and was extremely convenient. My husband was thrilled to have "ballpark nachoes," and I was able to make salads with pasta or a baked potato for the kids. I also really appreciated the glass of wine! The room smelled very clean upon opening the door. I can't say that about many hotels. Even the pricey beach home we were coming from lacked in cleanliness. But everything was very clean, the bathtub was appreciated as well. Everyone had a decent meal and good tubby before bed. The bed was decent, better than the Hampton Inn in Montgomery that we stayed in on the way down. Breakfast was good as well, and at both "meal times," the manager Christopher was present to schmooze and greet guests, which I found to be very surprising. The way he was conversing with some of the guests made me feel as though several of the people staying were frequent guests. I take that as a very good sign. We will be staying here again. A little far off I-65, but worth it for the extra comforts.
My mother and I stayed at the Hyatt Wynfrey for the Alabama Dental Alumni Weekend. She is a hygienists and I am a dentist, so we enjoyed the convience. She is a diabetic, recovering from a broken hip so it was nice having her so close to her conferences. I liked having the fitness room just a few doors down from our room. I liked the sensor nite lite on the night stand for my mother getting up in the night. (One broken hip is enough) II did not see any evidence of green...no recycling, reusing sundries (like the Embassy Suites), etc. The staff weren't aware of any such efforts.
Great Breakfast buffet. Friendly staff, comfortable bed.
The room was very nice and clean. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good variety and was fresh. Since this was a surprise trip to take my wife shopping, being attached to the mall was perfect. Our room was across from the ice machine. Wasn't a problem until someone decided to get ice at 6:30am on a Sunday morning. While we didn't watch TV much, the guide provided didn't list all the channels and had to flick through all of them to find the channel I wanted. The toilet flush didn't function very well and the water in it was a rusty brown.
It was connected to a mall which was nice to kill my time until my flight the next day.
The location was perfect the staff was friendly the food was amazing the pool is growing sexy overall great stay the shopping was a plus everything you need it's right there at your fingertips. The only bad thing I can say is that there wasn't enough towels in the room and when I ask for some the gentleman act like they were his house he only wanted to give me one but overall my stay was great
Fantastic staff; friendly and efficient. Rooms were spacious and clean. Location offers walkable mall dining options.
We liked everything about it. The staff made you feel at home and they went above and beyond to make sure your stay was perfect. It was a joy to see them whenever you where in the hotel. The rooms were awesome and always kept clean! We stayed for our anniversary for the second time and plan on staying from here on out.
Our stay at the Wynfrey was absolutely awesome!! We loved the convenience of being attached to the mall too. 5 stars!!!! My only complaint was the housekeepers were knocking on your door before 8am to clean your rooms! We were on vacation & having loooong nights, so we were still resting at that early hour and didn't want to be disturbed.
The staff was very friendly, and housekeeping/guest services was responsive to our needs when we asked them directly, without going through the desk. The location was perfect for our needs; this is a beautiful area of Birmingham. Definitely not for families. No dresser, no luggage rack, few hangers. Although we were told they had kept the luggage racks in storage after the room remodel, repeated requests for two to help reduce clutter went unheeded. The extra chairs we requested arrived a day or so later after repeated calls. The beautiful frosted bathroom door on a track was a nuisance throughout the week. A lot of noise to open and close, without actually offering any measure of privacy; design fail.
It was very clean. All of the staff was very nice. It has a beautiful hotel and in a great area for visiting the zoo. The only thing I didn't like was not having a complimentary breakfast. But the breakfast at River City Grill was very good just a little over priced
The place was gorgeous for the money I spent. Staff were helpful. There is a Starbucks in there!! We reserved thru Kayak. The fine print states cannot guarantee 2 double beds. We were traveling with our older children and they had to sleep on sofa beds in each room after traveling for 12 hours via car.The Ice machine did not work on second floor. The housekeeping came and tossed sheets and blankets at us. I told her you come back and fix these sofa beds. We were tired I just wanted to jump in a bed and sleep but I was having to deal with the bed situation.
I liked how they worked with me to find my reservation since booking.com didn't give a hotel confirmation number. But the hotel overall was very nice. Quiet, helpful, and in a good location of the town.
Staff was nice and helpful.... rooms were very clean... Suite was pricey with jaccuzzi , couldnt relax and view tv while in the jaccuzzi...expected to be offered future discount to come back and stay with pricey monies spent originally...
Hated the place!!! smelled really bad!!!!!!! never stay or recomend that place!! Such waste of money!
Clean, quiet, friendly staff. Sofá sleeper think mattress not too confortable.
Location and the Staff all A-1. Very little to complain about with this hotel.
Nice room. $24/day valet parking fee was not disclosed when my car was taken. I did not see a sign clearly displayed.
The employees! Wow fantastic service from start to finish. Fitness room. $200 night. No fans in the bathroom.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is conveniently located near shopping and food. The hotel is old and you can tell. They are remodeling but it still has that "old" smell. The air in my room didn't cool and it was very humid. The humidity made the musty smell of the room more prominate.I could also smell cigarette smoke. I think it was from when it was allowed in the building and the humidity made it seep from the walls. The neighborhood is a little sketchy. There were several people who hung around outside the building. They didn't have a continental breakfast but a buffet that was $9.50. That's a bit ridiculous! I was there for a week on business so no breakfast on site was inconvenient and I wasn't paying that much for the buffett. It wasn't too bad of an experience (i have stayed at worse) but it wasn't the normal Holiday Inn experience that I'm use to.
Breakfast always ready in the morning, staff was informative and extremely helpful. Most comfortable be I have ever slept on in a hotel. They could use a more advance fitness area.
Although an older building, the rooms look like they've been renovated within the past 5-10 years. They offer extended parking for a week and a shuttle service to the airport. Friendly staff, friendly drivers. Not a bad place to stay for the night and catch a ride to the airport early the next morning. Exterior and hallways / size of doors indicate the overall age of the building. (see pro addressing comment). Area is what you'd expect from a hotel near the airport.
The entire staff at the front desk were all extremely helpful and very friendly! Especialky the manager and the shuttle driver. They even accommadated us with an early check in after an 18 hour drive from New York! Not the end of world, but we did find previous guests empty beer bottles and food wrappers that seemed to have been pushed under the end of both beds. Over all, room was still very clean. Also, there was a coffee maker but no coffee, filters, or cups.... we like our coffee.
Everything but the fridge was very noisy there was no coffee pot but I liked my stay will use them again
My flight was cancelled and I needed a place to stay in order to catch an early morning flight. I wanted to stay somewher close and this was the place. The location is a little iffy but the staff was great. The room was clean and the food was good. All in all, it was a good place to stay for a night but i would look elsewhere if staying longer.
Close to airport free shuttle service Poor windows Breakfast staff is not top motivated
Staff was great. Very friendly. Hotel is just in bad shape. I got the impression that the staff there cleans and prepares rooms the best they can, but ancient carpets and facilities limit what they can do. It's a musty old building in a questionable part of town. Hotel got us by for a night midway through a road trip, but definitely wouldn't book rooms here as a destination. It's a place to sleep behind a locked door.
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Great location next to the airport. Room was very clean and comfortable. Reataurant staff was extremely slow! Food not bad but they definitely are not in the food service business. We were the only table and it still took us forever to be even recognized.
Location to airport. Location. Next to Freeway and noise all night long. Ate at the restaurant and it was horrible, along with probably the worst waitress I have ever had in my life. The carpet and walls and doors of the hallways was very dirty looking. Really needs updated. The inside of the rooms was surprisingly not bad. I would not recommend this hotel
clean, comfortable room but the coffee maker did not have a basket to hold the coffee and filter so we could not make coffee when we got up. The price seems a little high for the quality of the room and for having to pay an additional $10 to park in the adjacent parking garage.
Great location in downtown. We decided to stop in during a long road trip for the night and it was a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and there were many restaurants in walking distance. There was also and indoor pool to keep our kids occupied and full breakfast in the morning. The beds were a little on the firm side for my liking, but that's just me personally.
From the moment I stepped in until I left I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly voices. This staff is top notch and the rooms are exceptionally clean! I will defintely stay here again. Staff was very polite to us "Bassheads" for NYE 2016-17
Clean rooms and friendly staff. Beds were comfortable too!
My Son & I enjoyed breakfast. There were so many choices and the dining area was lovely. Couldn't believe wifi was $9.99 a night!! The beds were terribly uncomfortable, the bed linens were stained, and the a/c didn't work well at all.
Location was excellent. The staff was very friendly and nice. There was no charge for parking and plenty of spaces. Nine dollars a day for wifi.
Great proximity to all of Birmingham and at a great value
It was very clean and the staff was friendly! We enjoyed our stay!
The staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating.
Only one elevator works of two and it takes forever to get to you. Was given a handicap room at first, which had very limited counter space. Poor lighting, acutally dingy inside room. On the positive side, very well located. Close to 5 Points, Vulcan, Regions Field and the Summit Mall. Only take 15-20 minutes to get to most tourist sites. So, stay in the Perimeter area, but not necessarily at this Hilton.
Very accommodating staff that assisted with booking and gave great food recommendations.
The desk clerk was very cheerful and helpful when we arrived which set the tone for our stay. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious.
No towels. I don't just mean no towels in the room, none available in the entire hotel. Called the front desk asking for one and they said they were out, none they could give us. A/C in the room was insanely loud. Could not sleep with that thing running. And no in room complimentary internet?
Very clean...staff are wonderful!! Food and drinks were great!! We will Definitely be returning to the Drury!! We don't have any complaints at all!
I really enjoyed the 5:30 Kickback and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is quite cramped. Staff could have been a bit friendlier upon arrival.
Hotel staff is very accommodating and the extra amenities such as the free dinner and breakfast are nice. Not enough handicapped parking spots.
Room was clean and available when we arrived. Due to it's proximity to a major highway, try to get a room on the back side of the hotel. Highway noise from 18 wheelers at 3:00 am seemed to be a normal occurrence. Breakfast was very good, plenty of food and choices.
Great stay and staff was really nice.
The staff was awesome, nice hotel, great surroundings
Staff was very helpful and rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Limited access due to constructiom
Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was above average. No complaints..
The front desk staff was very friendly. One worker actually went up to my room and got some important paperwork back to me after I left. I woke up with a huge bed bug staring me in the face. The hallway in the 3rd floor smelled of mildew. I think the carpet must've flooded and they didn't clean it correctly. The outside and the lobby of the hotel is nice, but the room was disgusting. Besides the bed bugs I'm almost positive my linens hadn't been cleaned in a week or so.
