Nothing Room was way to small, stuffy, and bed needed to be replaced.
Close to everything. I was placed on the end of the building where the Wi-Fi signal was not that strong. On the second night I could not even hook up to it. After telling the front desk clerk about this she offered no solution and I felt ignored. I then requested to be moved to a better location in the building and they did move me. When I got to my second room, I was dismayed to find out they moved me to the other end of the motel. The signal was no better. The signal kept dropping off. Due to the clerks lack of understanding, I will not be back. I will pay a few dollars more to stay in a motel that takes care of customers and listens to their complaints.
It was reasonably clean and the staff were very friendly Price was $65, went to $75 and when I purchased the room at $75 it had no more rooms left at that price. Less than a third of the rooms were full.
Of course, the staff was great. But the construction made the entrance clog up.
The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Rooms are clean.
The location was great. Poor customer service. Poor house cleaning. Hot and cold water lines were crossed on the sink faucet. Unstable water temperature in the shower. The water temperature cycled from cold to hot. Caution had to be taken to prevent getting burnt by the hot water. Hotel staff ignored my complaints about the water. Nothing was done to solve the problem.
Up dated room . Friendly staff .
Dirty sheets and tub. Room by the elevator. Heard the elevator go up and down
I enjoyed the two beds and kitten plus a couch for around $100
Staff very friendly Clean and comfy beds Free wifi and parking Breakfast was not good
I had a great experience from a the get-go, I arrived almost at midnight after a long drive from Oklahoma, the attendant at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Check-in was quick, easy. The rooms were great; spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was okay. More of a variety at the breakfast buffet would be nice.
The staff was very friendly and supportive. The greeted us when we came and went. Breakfast was also a big plus and the variety was pretty good. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Although we were on the top floor, we didn't hear any noise from either guests on the sides of our room. Finally, I made a mistake booking our accommodations, and the staff worked with us to rectify our situation. Otherwise, we would have had to find another hotel. There wasn't any negative. Renovations were taking place, but we were told ahead of time of where they would be working.
Good location and friendly staff. Good overall value. Room not as nice in person as it looked like on website. Might be late in the remodel cycle.
Beautiful/spacious room, very comfy bed, nice bathroom (beautiful shower) A little far from the interstate and restaurants, but still a convenient location.
needs more water pressure in shower
The room was very nice and clean. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good variety and was fresh. Since this was a surprise trip to take my wife shopping, being attached to the mall was perfect. Our room was across from the ice machine. Wasn't a problem until someone decided to get ice at 6:30am on a Sunday morning. While we didn't watch TV much, the guide provided didn't list all the channels and had to flick through all of them to find the channel I wanted. The toilet flush didn't function very well and the water in it was a rusty brown.
Our stay at the Wynfrey was absolutely awesome!! We loved the convenience of being attached to the mall too. 5 stars!!!! My only complaint was the housekeepers were knocking on your door before 8am to clean your rooms! We were on vacation & having loooong nights, so we were still resting at that early hour and didn't want to be disturbed.
Fantastic staff; friendly and efficient. Rooms were spacious and clean. Location offers walkable mall dining options.
My mother and I stayed at the Hyatt Wynfrey for the Alabama Dental Alumni Weekend. She is a hygienists and I am a dentist, so we enjoyed the convience. She is a diabetic, recovering from a broken hip so it was nice having her so close to her conferences. I liked having the fitness room just a few doors down from our room. I liked the sensor nite lite on the night stand for my mother getting up in the night. (One broken hip is enough) II did not see any evidence of green...no recycling, reusing sundries (like the Embassy Suites), etc. The staff weren't aware of any such efforts.
It was connected to a mall which was nice to kill my time until my flight the next day.
The location was perfect the staff was friendly the food was amazing the pool is growing sexy overall great stay the shopping was a plus everything you need it's right there at your fingertips. The only bad thing I can say is that there wasn't enough towels in the room and when I ask for some the gentleman act like they were his house he only wanted to give me one but overall my stay was great
Great Breakfast buffet. Friendly staff, comfortable bed.
We liked everything about it. The staff made you feel at home and they went above and beyond to make sure your stay was perfect. It was a joy to see them whenever you where in the hotel. The rooms were awesome and always kept clean! We stayed for our anniversary for the second time and plan on staying from here on out.
We stayed at this Drury Inn on our way home to Nashville from Destin. After driving with 3 little ones (6 and under), we were very thankful not to have to go out for dinner. The kickback reception had very simple, but tasty food, and was extremely convenient. My husband was thrilled to have "ballpark nachoes," and I was able to make salads with pasta or a baked potato for the kids. I also really appreciated the glass of wine! The room smelled very clean upon opening the door. I can't say that about many hotels. Even the pricey beach home we were coming from lacked in cleanliness. But everything was very clean, the bathtub was appreciated as well. Everyone had a decent meal and good tubby before bed. The bed was decent, better than the Hampton Inn in Montgomery that we stayed in on the way down. Breakfast was good as well, and at both "meal times," the manager Christopher was present to schmooze and greet guests, which I found to be very surprising. The way he was conversing with some of the guests made me feel as though several of the people staying were frequent guests. I take that as a very good sign. We will be staying here again. A little far off I-65, but worth it for the extra comforts.
It was very clean. All of the staff was very nice. It has a beautiful hotel and in a great area for visiting the zoo. The only thing I didn't like was not having a complimentary breakfast. But the breakfast at River City Grill was very good just a little over priced
The place was gorgeous for the money I spent. Staff were helpful. There is a Starbucks in there!! We reserved thru Kayak. The fine print states cannot guarantee 2 double beds. We were traveling with our older children and they had to sleep on sofa beds in each room after traveling for 12 hours via car.The Ice machine did not work on second floor. The housekeeping came and tossed sheets and blankets at us. I told her you come back and fix these sofa beds. We were tired I just wanted to jump in a bed and sleep but I was having to deal with the bed situation.
I liked how they worked with me to find my reservation since booking.com didn't give a hotel confirmation number. But the hotel overall was very nice. Quiet, helpful, and in a good location of the town.
Hated the place!!! smelled really bad!!!!!!! never stay or recomend that place!! Such waste of money!
Clean, quiet, friendly staff. Sofá sleeper think mattress not too confortable.
Staff was nice and helpful.... rooms were very clean... Suite was pricey with jaccuzzi , couldnt relax and view tv while in the jaccuzzi...expected to be offered future discount to come back and stay with pricey monies spent originally...
Location and the Staff all A-1. Very little to complain about with this hotel.
Nice room. $24/day valet parking fee was not disclosed when my car was taken. I did not see a sign clearly displayed.
The employees! Wow fantastic service from start to finish. Fitness room. $200 night. No fans in the bathroom.
My flight was cancelled and I needed a place to stay in order to catch an early morning flight. I wanted to stay somewher close and this was the place. The location is a little iffy but the staff was great. The room was clean and the food was good. All in all, it was a good place to stay for a night but i would look elsewhere if staying longer.
Staff was great. Very friendly. Hotel is just in bad shape. I got the impression that the staff there cleans and prepares rooms the best they can, but ancient carpets and facilities limit what they can do. It's a musty old building in a questionable part of town. Hotel got us by for a night midway through a road trip, but definitely wouldn't book rooms here as a destination. It's a place to sleep behind a locked door.
Breakfast always ready in the morning, staff was informative and extremely helpful. Most comfortable be I have ever slept on in a hotel. They could use a more advance fitness area.
The entire staff at the front desk were all extremely helpful and very friendly! Especialky the manager and the shuttle driver. They even accommadated us with an early check in after an 18 hour drive from New York! Not the end of world, but we did find previous guests empty beer bottles and food wrappers that seemed to have been pushed under the end of both beds. Over all, room was still very clean. Also, there was a coffee maker but no coffee, filters, or cups.... we like our coffee.
Although an older building, the rooms look like they've been renovated within the past 5-10 years. They offer extended parking for a week and a shuttle service to the airport. Friendly staff, friendly drivers. Not a bad place to stay for the night and catch a ride to the airport early the next morning. Exterior and hallways / size of doors indicate the overall age of the building. (see pro addressing comment). Area is what you'd expect from a hotel near the airport.
Close to airport free shuttle service Poor windows Breakfast staff is not top motivated
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Great location next to the airport. Room was very clean and comfortable. Reataurant staff was extremely slow! Food not bad but they definitely are not in the food service business. We were the only table and it still took us forever to be even recognized.
Everything but the fridge was very noisy there was no coffee pot but I liked my stay will use them again
The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is conveniently located near shopping and food. The hotel is old and you can tell. They are remodeling but it still has that "old" smell. The air in my room didn't cool and it was very humid. The humidity made the musty smell of the room more prominate.I could also smell cigarette smoke. I think it was from when it was allowed in the building and the humidity made it seep from the walls. The neighborhood is a little sketchy. There were several people who hung around outside the building. They didn't have a continental breakfast but a buffet that was $9.50. That's a bit ridiculous! I was there for a week on business so no breakfast on site was inconvenient and I wasn't paying that much for the buffett. It wasn't too bad of an experience (i have stayed at worse) but it wasn't the normal Holiday Inn experience that I'm use to.
Location to airport. Location. Next to Freeway and noise all night long. Ate at the restaurant and it was horrible, along with probably the worst waitress I have ever had in my life. The carpet and walls and doors of the hallways was very dirty looking. Really needs updated. The inside of the rooms was surprisingly not bad. I would not recommend this hotel
All areas were clean and modern looking. The room was excellent and comfortable with extras we didn't expect for the price. We have stayed here before years ago and will definitely stay here again. Good job!
Stayed there 2 weeks ago unfortunately! Arrived about 10:30 with a reservation that included a pull out couch. When we got there the pull out couch was a pull out chair with a thin cheap worn out mattress that felt like you were lying on the springs themselves! the pull out was not made, nor were there linens in the room for it. A call to the front desk informed me I would have to come get them myself. There were none of the usual toiletries like shampoo or body wash so again, another trip to the front desk.. the pull out was so uncomfortable for my young daughter she ended up sleeping in the regular chair. The breakfast was mediocre at best and the coffee was horrible - I am not picky about coffee but this was undrinkable!
The hotel was nice and clean, it could use a remodeling as the room decor seems a little dated and heavily used. Also we booked a king room and when we got there they only had 2 doubles.
The hotel room was not clean. Maid services did not showup to clean the room.
Front desk was nice and helpful, breakfast was ok,my room had a smell, bathroom wasn't clean, had red stuff in sink and hair in tub. The pool was dirty and spa smell like urine.Overall hotel need to step it up a whole lot.
I visit the Birmingham area 3-4 times a year. This hotel is the best bang for tour buck. The free breakfast offers a variety of health choices. The beds are comfortable with great pillows-no need to bring your own. Internet is easy to access in room. The small workout room offers more than just a treadmill.
The motel room was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly. Had a very nice stay. Would stay again.
We were initially told our two rooms would be on different floors. After a belt burned up in the ac unit we were moved to the same floor. Elevators were extremely slow and it could have been quite a bit cleaner.
I was there on business for a week, therefore I reserved the 'suite', (I use that term, loosely), only to find one of the nastiest rooms I've ever had the misfortune of entering. It actually looked like a crime scene. The desk leg, was actually held together with a zip-tie. The chair looked like some greasy-headed person had a head full of gel, and had rubbed it off on the chair. The arms of this chair appeared as if someone had wiped their blackened hands on them. There were bugs of some sort, in the window sill. Cigarette burns in the floor, etc. I would not even sit on the furniture, little less, the bed !! After contacting the front desk and waiting for 2 hours for the front desk to send housekeeping, I finally called to explain my disgust and frustration. If there was a way to post pics, I would. Bottom line, don't waste your time or money !!
We had a one night stay on the way back from FL. Stayed in a double bed room. The room was nice and clean; and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was also good. The location also has easy access to I-65. The only issue, that we had, was our room happened to be next to a stairwell and the door would slam pretty hard. Made it hard to sleep in.
My daughter goes to school at UAB and I have used this La Quinta several times on visits to Birmingham. The hotel has a nice location near dining and shopping but out of the way so not in a high traffic area. I have never had any problems with the rooms I have stayed in and the staff has always been friendly and courteous. The pool and exercise room are both reasonably maintained. Overall a good value hotel for the price.
Nice room, very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. Also very convenient location with multiple restaurants within walking distance and convenient interstate access. Great value for the price. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
My Son & I enjoyed breakfast. There were so many choices and the dining area was lovely. Couldn't believe wifi was $9.99 a night!! The beds were terribly uncomfortable, the bed linens were stained, and the a/c didn't work well at all.
Only one elevator works of two and it takes forever to get to you. Was given a handicap room at first, which had very limited counter space. Poor lighting, acutally dingy inside room. On the positive side, very well located. Close to 5 Points, Vulcan, Regions Field and the Summit Mall. Only take 15-20 minutes to get to most tourist sites. So, stay in the Perimeter area, but not necessarily at this Hilton.
Location was excellent. The staff was very friendly and nice. There was no charge for parking and plenty of spaces. Nine dollars a day for wifi.
It was very clean and the staff was friendly! We enjoyed our stay!
No towels. I don't just mean no towels in the room, none available in the entire hotel. Called the front desk asking for one and they said they were out, none they could give us. A/C in the room was insanely loud. Could not sleep with that thing running. And no in room complimentary internet?
Clean rooms and friendly staff. Beds were comfortable too!
The desk clerk was very cheerful and helpful when we arrived which set the tone for our stay. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious.
Very accommodating staff that assisted with booking and gave great food recommendations.
From the moment I stepped in until I left I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly voices. This staff is top notch and the rooms are exceptionally clean! I will defintely stay here again. Staff was very polite to us "Bassheads" for NYE 2016-17
Great proximity to all of Birmingham and at a great value
The staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating.
Great location in downtown. We decided to stop in during a long road trip for the night and it was a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and there were many restaurants in walking distance. There was also and indoor pool to keep our kids occupied and full breakfast in the morning. The beds were a little on the firm side for my liking, but that's just me personally.
clean, comfortable room but the coffee maker did not have a basket to hold the coffee and filter so we could not make coffee when we got up. The price seems a little high for the quality of the room and for having to pay an additional $10 to park in the adjacent parking garage.
Very clean...staff are wonderful!! Food and drinks were great!! We will Definitely be returning to the Drury!! We don't have any complaints at all!
Hotel staff is very accommodating and the extra amenities such as the free dinner and breakfast are nice. Not enough handicapped parking spots.
Room was clean and available when we arrived. Due to it's proximity to a major highway, try to get a room on the back side of the hotel. Highway noise from 18 wheelers at 3:00 am seemed to be a normal occurrence. Breakfast was very good, plenty of food and choices.
I really enjoyed the 5:30 Kickback and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is quite cramped. Staff could have been a bit friendlier upon arrival.
The hotel was very nice, so was the front desk clerk. Very easy to find off of highway. The first room we were given after we checked wasn't clean....but the front desk took care of it and everything was fine.
Clean, quiet, comfortable beds. Great place to stay overnight while on a long drive. Better value than other hotels we called that were >$100. I don't know if it was just missed or if they don't provide it...? No soap or shampoo in the room. I thought that was strange. The room was also really hot when we checked in. It cooled down over time but was really really uncomfortable when we first walked in.
Very comfortable bed. Lobby was very inviting and had a modern feel. Breakfast was good and replenished quickly. Our room (especially the bathroom) had a very bad odor. There was dog food left on the floor. We had a waterbug in our room. Doors in the rooms did not lock. Not enough towels in the room.
The room was very clean & and roomy. The free breakfast was very delicious. The best part of the breakfast was that the area was very clean and neatly organized.
Friendly, helpful staff. Recommended a great place to eat. Clean, comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
The location is good for Hoover. Deep V's are good for shirts, not for beds. I felt like I was funneled into the middle of an old mattress for no reason. How about a mattress that wasn't around when Sugar Ray was relevant?
The room was nicely decorated and spacious. I liked the waves sound on the TV, but ended up not using it to sleep b/c it gave off too much light. I don't think the room was cleaned well - crumbs on carpet, dirty washrag in bathroom. makes me wonder if everything else was truly clean. BIG DEAL - no microwave or fridge in room b/c it had two double beds. I didn't ask for 2 double beds & wouldn't have had I known it didn't give me the fridge - I had to use the one in the receptionist office for something that needed to stay cold. I also couldn't microwave my dinner I brought to the room, so ate it lukewarm. The room was plenty large enough for a fridge and microwave. Office staff seemed harried - not unfriendly, but not friendly either. Seemed understaffed. Parking near a door was difficult too. Pool water was a bit murky and green, so didn't swim as had planned. Could not turn A/C below 65.
It's quite. Staff was great. Attentive. Would I stay again? Yes. We didn't like the beds. A double bed is to small for two grown adults....and we're not plump people either. Blankets....a bit skimpy.
