Cons: We were not able to check in until after 4 PM for the rooms We’re not ready. We had purchased 4 rooms. 2 were ready a little after 3 PM. The other two were not ready until after 4 PM.
Pros: I liked the way the Casino manager assisted me and the nice professional staff who helped me with my stay. The room was absolutely great and so was Katie's Cafe.
Cons: The manager of the bar in the Steakhouse is was very rude to me regarding the bar lady giving my Service dog some water in the wrong vessel. He even asked me to leave and accused my Service dog of barking which was not true. Another casino floor manager saw how upset I was and did talk with the Steakhouse manager who did not report accurately what occurred. The Casino manager gave me a $25 comp slip to make up for the incident.
Pros: breakfast was great and so was dinner
Cons: they didn't have any discounts on room,,really 150.00 for one night is a bit excessive
Pros: The location, the restaurant, the pool,
Pros: great food, value
Pros: Nice and clean
Cons: Only one place to plug in devices to charge them
Pros: Well appointed room and friendly welcoming staff
Cons: Smell of smoking in hallways
Pros: We have stayed at Carson Valley Inn numerous times. It is always neat and clean with very comfortable beds and bedding. The check in was easy. The food at Katie's is always good and priced right. You really can't go wrong staying at CVI.
Cons: They should have some $5 blackjack tables in the casino so people who cannot afford $10 tables can play and enjoy themselves.
Pros: Food was great entertainment was fantastic
Cons: More coffee pods
Pros: Convenient restaurant, ease of parking,
Cons: Unfriendly casino staff
Pros: Lots of food and good, however recommend a seniors menu for us old folk.
Cons: Room had no tobacco odor but as soon as you get you get into the hallways and corridors, the smell hits you.
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: This is a Casino--I didn't realize that when I booked, so if you are not into that, or are not a smoker, I wouldn't go to this hotel. The whole hotel smelled of smoke including the non-smoking room. Thankfully there was a window we could open to get fresh air. It was a super long-walk to the room with no other entrances on that side of hotel. There weren't enough towels in the room, so we tried calling the front desk and housekeeping, but the phone didn't work. We sent our son to the front desk to get some towels, but he was told they didn't have any but to get some at the pool. He went to the pool area, but didn't have a key so couldn't get in. It was such a long walk and it was late. We had to go to the pool area in the morning to get enough pool towels in order to shower. I mentioned it at the front desk in the morning and that staff was appalled. They asked if we were staying for breakfast, but we wanted to get out of there quick so our clothes wouldn't smell completely like smoke.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Minden? This motel has facilities measuring 5106 square feet (474 square meters), including meeting rooms. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Room was pricey considering there was no frig or microwave
Pros: This "motor lodge" is actually several hundred yard away from the 'Inn". The pool/spa/restaurant are all off site and you need to walk across an extensive, hot parking lot to get to them. At the lodge, only ice machine and drinks available. The rooms were quite nice but lacked microwave and small fridge as would be typical in most rooms. This was not very well explained on your website and just seems designed to get folks into the inn connected to the casino. Please do a better job describing this because even the registration is remote from actual accommodation. Thank you.
Pros: Friendly and professional Staff, welcoming receptionists and very nice Breakfast. I parked my car in front of my room.
Cons: No bathroom garbage can and slippers
Pros: The price is fair. Staff very nice people.
Cons: Beds could be more comfortable, shower is pretty bad, Internet on the motor lodge is horrible. Internet just works on the cassino building.
Pros: Breakfast at Katie's Country Kitchen. Smiles, courtesy from staff. Great ambiance. Good food
Cons: The motor lodge is NOT the casino hotel. My fault for not paying closer attention to the website description. The accommodations were a bit disappointing when expecting the casino hotel. Having said that, the room wasn't that bad, except the carpet was ba
Pros: Nice old lodge.
Cons: Couldn't take a shower the morning we left. I called the desk, but we had a schedule to keep so we had to leave without a shower. The maintenance guy showed up and told us the lodge was old and was falling apart. He went in and banged around on the handle and it finally came on. Not very impressive. I would appreciate a full refund.
Pros: The Steak House and Katy's Country Kitchen were great. The country Kitchen had large plates and prices were good. Rooms were comfortable.
Cons: The rooms were good. However people could be heard talking and walking outside very clearly. No insulation to cut noise. Also I thought We would have easy access to pool and spa. The motor lodge has no direct path to main hotel. So I did not use pool or spa. A good 5 min walk or get into your car and drive or call the hotel shuttle. Very disappointed. Also thought the price rather high for the room. Stayed at a Best Western for 2 nights with pool and spa for $75 less and they served breakfast.
Pros: Rooms in Motor Lodge nice and large. Steakhouse is great!
Pros: Close to our swim meet.
Cons: Someone had definitely smoked in our non-smoking room and the remedy was a lot of air freshener, which made my allergies go off the handle. Since our friends staying in the room next to us had ants all over their room we decided to live with the smell instead of asking for a different room and risk getting ants all over. Our friends asked for a fridge to be brought over to help with the ants, and they never had it delivered, so clearly customer service was not of a great concern.
Pros: The food was really good and excellent price.
Cons: I chose to stay there because they had a indoor hot tub. The water was like warm, and all the Jets didn't seem to bee working properly. Very disappointing.
Cons: The check in procedure for Motor Lodge not on premises. Not convenient!
Pros: Excellent staff Very clean and quiet

Pros: Nice beds, free coffee and an OK morning breakfast.
Cons: Refrigerator has to be unplugged as he unit was very noisy. AC is not central, so you have it going on and off all night from a wall unit. Not my best night sleep.
Pros: Hotel location close to the death ride event.
Cons: Front registration staff luck of compassion, understanding and unreasonable cancellation hotel policy. Clerk simply said, you can leave at at time, we are not stopping you, you don't need to stay the 2nd night, we will not be refunding the 2nd night. I did the Death Ride event Sat, and chatted with a much of riders during the event, as you know we all want to know where we all stayed the previous night, and the experience I had with this hotel was brought up, a lot of them were sunprise and disappointed to hear about the cancellation policy for the 2nd night.
Pros: Good parking, clean room and comfortable bedding.
Pros: good breakfaster and good location
Pros: Super friendly staff and the cookies were good
Cons: Been here 3 times and the first and third times I have had to move rooms due to an issue
Pros: Clean , comfortable, good breakfast
Cons: I could understand everything the occupant in the next room was saying.
Pros: My sister and I came to Minden to watch a concert. The hotel was in a great location, the staff was very friendly, the room was just what we needed.
Cons: The only complaint I have is our room was Right next to the elevator and the vending machines so it got a little noisy early in the morning.
Cons: I like everything
Pros: Breakfast was great, scrambled eggs were the best, omelets were dry. Location was great. Nice facilities.
Cons: The bed was too hard, very uncomfortable. The room deodorizer you put in the A/C made my sinuses go crazy. Not good for people that are sensitive to smells. House keeping left little pieces of litter in the hall for days.
Pros: Bed ,and the breakfast
Cons: There staff attitude and undestaffed
Cons: Too classic room style
Pros: didnt eat the breakfast , so i cant rate it
Cons: not much to say here

Pros: Decent view of the lake from your room
Cons: Price was way to much $143 a night no where to eat besides the casino
Pros: Nice location, good breakfast.
Cons: Perhaps the access (walk) to the nearby casino, station, and camping could have been better.
Pros: There's really not much going on in the area. We stayed at this motel for 1 night, on our way from Yosemite to Lake Tahoe, and it perfectly met our needs.
Pros: The hotel manager was lovely, very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellant !
Pros: Spacious room, convenient location
Pros: Very decent breakfast - eggs, sausage muffins, cereal, fruit, real fruit juice, waffle maker, crushed almonds. Very nice room and clean. Great view. Only one real restaurant to go to - Topaz lodge, but decent - I'd recommend going here.
Pros: Close to the lake
Pros: The location. Nice views of Topaz lake from the hotel.
Cons: The owners/staff were not friendly at all. It seems that the establishment is a business to them, but they don't have any customer service skills whatsoever. The hotel is very old and in need of a facelift. It was also too expensive for what it is. I expected more a Best Western labeled hotel.
Pros: Very clean
Cons: Very pleased
Pros: Spacious room.
Cons: It seemed overpriced by about 25%.
Pros: Breakfast was great, lots of choices. Location was okay, good view of an arid lake landscape. Rooms were large. Beds very comfortable. Staff was helpful in locating dinner choices.
Cons: We were just passing through, wouldn't come here as a destination. Not many dinner choices, mainly a small Casino nearby, with a small fine dining restaurant that was unexpectantly reasonably priced and good food.
Pros: We liked the spacious rooms and the view of the Lake. Gas prices here are low. Fill up when you're headed towards Yosemite!
Cons: Seems to me this location is so far away from everything, they can get away with high rates, bad customer service, subpar amenities and still be fully booked. Communication with the hotel could not have been worse. I booked a non-refundable (yet, expensive) rate. A few weeks later, my card wasn't charged yet. I contacted the hotel. They informed me they would only charge my card once I was physically there to swipe the card. Fine. However a few weeks later, the card was charged. A few days before my stay, I e-mailed the hotel once more to confirm that the rate has been fully prepaid and to request a room with two queen beds. No reply whatsoever. At check-in, we were given a king room. Requesting another room, the lady at the front desk said 'we were full'. But she didn't even care to check into the system and see if my request could be fulfilled. Also, the shower water pressure was way below par. Dining options are extremely limited in this area and they close EARLY so be here on time.
When you a stay at Historian Inn in Gardnerville, you'll be in the historical district, within a 5-minute walk of Sharkey's Casino and Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, express check-out, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: There should be more choices at breakfast. Guests should be allowed more than one bakery item
Pros: The muffins/coffee cake were delicious. Liked that the room had nice amenities (snacks, beverages, etc.) available if you wanted them (at a cost). Wonderful huge king size bed!
Cons: A little noisy as our room was on the main hwy/street.
Pros: It was really surprisingly nice!! Everything was.
Cons: The outside needs a little facelift. The inside was great!
Pros: It was clean & had all the amenities, iron & ironing board, microwave, fridge
Cons: It was old and the flooring was buckled and coming up
Pros: Staff was very friendly and help full!!!
Pros: Very clean with nice decor. Historic information and artifacts in the lobby.
Cons: The "mountain view" rooms are on the main highway, so it was a bit noisy in the evening. Breakfast was only coffee or tea and a muffin or sweet bread from the adjoining bakery. The baked good were tasty, just not much choice.
Pros: Banana Bread was awesome!!! Sherry was so nice. She answered our many questions. Room was very clean. Bed was super comfy.
Cons: Overall no serious dislikes.
Pros: The interior was exceed my expectations. It looks more elegant in the room than the outside of the hotel. The breakfast was directly from the next door bakery. it was delicious although it only has a few items.
Cons: My purpose for this trip was visiting Lake Tahoe, so the location was a little far from South Lake even though it looks closer than Carsons city on the map. I still need to go through the mountains spending the same amount of time as to Carson city to get here. And it’s a little expensive considering the location to Lake Tahoe. However, Gardenville is located in a beautiful valley. I still think it’s worth to visit this place if you don’t mind to drive through the mountain to Lake Tahoe.
Pros: The air conditioner was broken so he ran out to buy a fan for the room.
Pros: Beautiful area
Cons: Room was really hot when we got there
Pros: Clean, quiet, nonsmoking property. Very convenient to Carson City. Friendly helpful staff. Nice to know the city of Gardenerville has a complimentary ChargePoint electric car plug-in station right beside the property. Continental breakfast for guests in the lobby.
Pros: Location. It was very close to where our friends lived.
Cons: The clerk when checking in did not know what was historical about the hotel or property. I assumed there must be some historical significance. But none was known. Also, weeds were growing very large on the property. Looked very sloppy.
A stay at David Walley's Resort places you in the heart of Genoa, a 3-minute drive from Mormon Station State Historic Park and 10 minutes from Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center. Featured amenities include a business center, laundry facilities, and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean, friendly, great views.
Cons: Mattress was too firm and smaller than I thought it would be. It was a full size I think, not a queen. Food was pricey.
Pros: room location, TV and bed
Cons: furniture was old. bathroom needs updating. needed to ask for additional supplies. Soap, shampoo, coffee & toilet paper.
Cons: Difficult to communicate with front desk regarding a change in our schedule
Pros: We stayed 2 nights and on check out at 8:30 am we left the property. When we got back to our home that evening I remembered I had left my wedding ring on the Kleenex box in the bathroom of our room. I called and spoke with Sierra she was super rude about the situation. I called the next day and the staff had rechecked the room where we had stayed. I guarantee you the maid had stolen my ring. We met the sheriffs their on Monday morning and the staff again was rude and less then compassionate and helpful. I put my ring on social media in case it gets lost and have had two strangers contact me and say they had similar incidents at Wally’s Hot Springs. I will give them nothing but negatively to whom ever I come across and will never recommend them to anyone. Also the family staying in the condo we stayed has stayed how unprofessional and how the plaice has went down hill over the past 9 years .
Cons: Staff and the dishonesty within the staff.
Pros: The roominess of the two rooms we rented, also use of the wash machine & dishwasher.
Cons: The pool got kind of dirty.
Pros: The view was beautiful and the restaurant had ribs that were to die for.
Cons: First, we were traveling with our 9 month old and got put into a room with a joint door to the next room over. The door had huge gaps and you could hear everything. Normally our daughter always sleeps through the night from about 8 pm to 7 am (and had for the previous 10 days of our trip at 5 other places), but because we could hear everything she was constantly waking up every time the neighbors would flush the toilet, turn on the TV, do dishes or just be talking (all normal things one should be able to do in their hotel room). I am sure if we could hear them then they could probably hear us as well even though we tried to be very quiet. If it wasn't the noises from the neighboring room waking her up, it was the the thermostat that was very difficult to control. When it wasn't on, it would get really warm really quick. When it was on, it was very cold and I was constantly covering and uncovering myself and my daughter to try to help her sleep. The pillows were hard as rocks and not anything like normal Holiday Inn pillows. The sheets were thin, cheap and stretched out so they were constantly coming off the mattress. The mattress didnt have a very good protector on it and there were a couple small stains just from the small part of the mattress I did see. The TV had a crackling sound when we tried to watch it and the couch was absolutely disgusting and falling apart, along with the coffee table that was missing some of its decorations. There were 2 sinks in the bathroom, one of which was really hard to turn on and the other was clogged and would fill up very quickly. You had to be completely inside the shower in order to turn it on and the shower head was hard to adjust so it sprayed me in the face until I could switch the setting on it. There were a few large stains on the carpet and it was fraying by the bathroom entrance.
Cons: Old pillows, high price for hot spring use, little kids in hot spring tub
Pros: Our room at the resort was very large (we had the 2-bed/2 bath suite), clean, and inviting. Spa tub in one of the bathrooms, TVs in both bedrooms and living room, fully equipped kitchen, and a double-sided fireplace in the living room and Master bedroom.
Cons: The ONLY thing I didn't like was the coffee that is included with the kitchen for brewing in the coffee maker. BUT... they have a restaurant/café on site that has Starbucks coffee, so really it was not a big deal at all!
Pros: It was very relaxing and the staff was very friendly and helpful!
Cons: Only thing I did not like was that to use the hot springs it is $50 per person per day, since the hotel says resort & hot springs I expected the hot springs to be included. Also the pool was quite dirty & only one of three hot tubs worked.
Pros: Location was beautiful. Staff at the spa and bar were very hospitable.
Cons: The front desk people were very rude. I have never encountered that type of attitude at a resort. Cobwebs in the corners of our bedroom.
Pros: Nice location, good size room and friendly staff.
Cons: Additional fee to use hot springs.
Pros: Overall, it was a basic hotel room with adequate facilities. The massage at the spa was amazing!!
Cons: The bed was not super comfortable (very firm; it could use a mattress topper), many of the outlets didn’t work, and the AC took an entire day to cool the room. I also don’t like that you have to pay an additional fee (daily!) for pool access.

Pros: I loved that it was across the street from a really nice park.
Cons: It was in disrepair. The pool was nonfunctional and the grounds were awful looking, including the sidewalks.
Cons: Their customer service is the worst
Cons: No ice machine during our stay. The bath tube base was Creaky and cracking noise when you step into surface. Breakfast was very minimal and limited.
Cons: Check-in process took like forever to finish, rooms were neat but below par for the Star rating, the beds were only average and Bathroom needs to be cleaned up better
Pros: Our room was okay except the carpet was dirty and worn in spots.
Cons: The grounds were unkempt, lots of weeds. The breakfast was scant, no fresh fruit, no yogurt. Should not have been rated beyond a 2.
Pros: Contrary to what other reviewers commented, my room was modern, big, clean, and everything was well-maintained and working. This location is ideal as a starting point to Mono Lake, Mammoth Lakes area where choices of hotels are limited expensive.
Cons: This place needs more lighting at the front and around its parking area. It was too dark around the hotel.
Pros: The staff were unerringly friendly and helpful. This was good, as there were constant complaints at the front desk about room quality.
Cons: I saw multiple people, us included, having issues with the rooms. Most common issue was lights not working. There's no elevator, so anyone with mobility issues must specifically request a 1st floor room. We moved to an accessible room, but it smelled bad.
Pros: Good value.
Cons: Beds are no black beauty but suffice.
Pros: Nothing at all!
Cons: Everything!! Filthy dirty hotel and the owner is sad!! Very sad!!
Pros: Hotel employee at the front desk was amazing, thoughtful, professional and just plain nice. The Inn is very quiet, I did not hear traffic, people or any noise all night. The room surfaces were very clean and smelled pleasant. The bed was comfortable
Cons: The hotel needs some updating/maintenance. Stains on the carpet, chair. The exposed concrete outside was crumbling. Breakfast is carb heavy.
Pros: Front desk staff was very friendly
Cons: They need a pool and a refurbishment throughout the property.
Pros: Would not stay here again.... under renovation and bed uncomfortable bathroom toilet did not work....
Cons: Would not stay here again - uncomfortable beds toilet did not flush properly and breakfast was horrible.....
