Pros: I haven't liked a hotel like this for a long time. It's a gorgeous place. Although it's not in the center, the hotel is very old, the environment is quite good, and there are two lovely alpacas. Cons: It would be better if lunch and dinner were served, but there was some places for dinner nearby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel surrounded by lovely well-maintained grounds. Interesting variety of lovely old trees in the garden and there are a couple of adorable alpacas! Room was large, well-furnished and very quiet. Large bathroom with all the modern comforts. Was a great place to relax and enjoy.

Cons: absolutely nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Jesus was charming, helpful and spoke perfect English. The hotel is quiet in lovely grounds and with comfortable and well appointed rooms in a beautiful old house full of family history. The breakfast was delicious and the recommended restaurant only 5 minutes walk from the hotel was authentic and served wonderful food and home made cider. One could not ask for more.
Cons: Nothing everything was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fabulous! The hotel is next to the botanical gardens and only a few km from Gijón. Has an amazing garden to relax and interior design is gorgeous! Rooms were very clean, comfortable and decoration was a reflection of late 19th century. Although they only serve breakfast, the service and host were fantastic. It was a pity that we stayed only one night.
Cons: nothing

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the property checked me in(I’ve forgotten his name) Excellent service. Very personable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Host was extrenely helpful in offering advice and directions for how I could best spend my time during my stay. And the location is perfect. Close to the Camino as well as all the sights the old Town has to offer. The room is modest but comfortable and when your done sightseeing there is even a functional terrace that you can use to sit on and enjoy a little wine (you supply the wine). For anyone walking the Camino or anyone else for that matter I highly recommend Hostel Gijón Centro.
Cons: There was nothing that I can think of.

The breakfasts are unbelievable in terms of the quantity and quality of the food. This is NOT your traditional bed and breakfast, coffee and a croissant type of breakfast. Truly a memorable vacation.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super location facilities and staff
Cons: All was good. For Camino friends please note this is a high end hostel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, the view from the living room is awesome. I loved having my morning coffee there on the chair hammock. I didn’t know the breakfast was included so that was a nice plus,
Cons: Because I only stayed one night they placed me in the only room that didn’t have a beach view :(lol
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the chilling room where very cool, also the teas available and the coffee is great
Cons: the hostel was supposed to have parking but there wasn't one. Also the breakfast could be improved a bit, but still it was okay!
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Everything was good but there was only one shared bathroom. There was another bathroom but its inside a dorm which I find it may not be convenient if we are to disturb when there's people resting inside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. I had room with a beautiful view on the sea. The hostel is very practically equipped, with hooks and bags for personal stuff close to bed.
Cons: The breakfast seemed to consist of only sweet stuff
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, with a beautiful view of the beach. The staff was nice and generally the stay was comfortable, but I'm not sure if it's as comfortable on days when it's more crowded.

Casona de Cefontes - Gijón - Building
5
9.2 Excellent (169 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Gijon (Distrito Rural Este), Casona de Cefontes is within a 5-minute drive of Laboral City of Culture and Atlantic Botanical Garden. Featured amenities include express check-in, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, out of the way property with a rural aspect, yet easy (10 mins) drive into the centre of the city/beach (Gijon’s beach is spectacular!). Free parking at the hotel is also a plus if travelling with a car. The owners are very friendly and obliging, and even though their English is minimal, they are good communicators. Breakfast was first class. If you want a break from the usual holiday accommodation, I would recommend this property whole heartedly.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable and quiet.
Cons: A seat in the nice garden would have been a bonus!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rural elegance, close to city WI
Cons: WIFI is inadequate.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and quiet, very friendly owners, plenty of parking, rural location.
Cons: Sometimes difficult to ger wifi signal in room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome, our Spanish is limited but we were able to converse easily with Adolfo in French!
Cons: Breakfast was a little disappointing - apparently there were two prices (we paid 11euros for 2) but had expected a better choice for which the charge is 11 euros per person but we were not informed of this on arrival.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable and junior suite was very nice. Breakfast was the best of all places we've stayed in this trip to Spain and the owners were very accommodating at breakfast.
Cons: 1. On arrival, housekeeper could not direct us to the nearest Catholic church as it w a s a Saturday, spoke little English. 2. Instant coffee in room, would have liked greater access to coffee thru out the day, esp. since meals had to be taken elsewhere. 3. Location rated as fair because it took 30 min. to get into town, a mere 5 miles away. 1 restaurant a mile away for dinner w a s the only close source for meals except for breakfast. 4. Written materials were only in English, which was problematic because there was no one on hand to answer our questions on arrival.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Loved the fact that the property was slightly rural, the views were lovely over the fields. Really good restaurant nearby that you can walk to, although there was only us and another couple there but had a great night all the same. Really friendly owners who couldnt do enough to help - so nice. Really clean room too.
Cons: As someone has previously said, a couple of tables and chairs in the sun would be lovely.
Hotel Central - Gijón - Bedroom
6
9.1 Excellent (733 reviews)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Check in staff great with lots of suggestions for dining out and sightseeing. If travelling by bus hotel is a minute away.
Cons: For the price, very good value but walls between rooms not soundproof so a bit noisy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Katherine and her staff go out of their way to be helpful.
Cons: Since the hotel backs right up to the bus station, it can be a bit noisy. Ask for a room on the front side of the hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, particularly Ivan who went out of his way to help us enjoy our stay. The room was comfortable, the shared spaces well decorated and spotlessly clean. A short walk to the old quarter and the beaches.
Cons: The one way system made it very difficult to locate the hotel, despite emailed help from the staff prior to arrival. Only street parking was available but this was not the fault of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great communication with emails of car parking. Very obliging with info of sightseeing, groceries parking. Small clean very comfortable bed & clean bathroom with very soft bath towels. Great for an overnight stay or if you don’t plan on being in your room. Ivan gifted us a traditional dish which was very thoughtful
Cons: Wifi not great in the room, but may be ok in lounge area No Fridge or coffee tea facilities
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location Easy walking location/restaurants nearby
Cons: slow checkin procedures
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful, friendly and knowledgable staff always ready to assist.
Cons: A room was a bit on a small side, but that is no problem on a short stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A short walk from the surprisingly lovely Gijon. The most attentive and thorough concierge.
Cons: Walls are a little thin.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good clean and friendly place. We enjoyed the family room which was spacious. The breakfast was satisfying! We walked the city in a day and enjoy all!
Cons: The street noise, but that’s expected in the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was perfect for me and my mother for 3 nights visiting my daughter who has recently moved to Gijon. So clean, beds very comfortable, lovely breakfast. The lady who runs it was so helpful and although we could speak each other’s language we got by. Excellent value for money and I will definitely stay there again when visiting my daughter.
Cons: I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room and would have happily paid a few euros extra a night for that.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the city beach (very clean!). Very close to parking lot. Nice and helpful hosts. Good breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: The bed was comfy, location good, car park excellent.nice lady on reception.
Cons: No air conditioning or fan in room which were very hot.bacic continental breakfast, looking a bit dated .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good.....although a twenty to thirty minute walk from either the train or bus station the hostel was surrounded by good eating places and bars. It is also only one block from the best part of the beach and adjacent to a very nice public park. Staff were helpful and everywhere spotless. Breakfast was basic but plenty of it and very adequate.
Cons: Although the bathroom was an ok size the shower cabinet was small and you were not able to move or turn easily. This might apply to our room only. WiFi was patchy but generally ok.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely lady at the reception. Easy to park garage. Big and clean rooms. Breakfast good
7.1 Good
Pros: The lady at the desk was super nice & very helpful. The location of the hostel was great, close to the beach & many restaurants.
Cons: There was no place to park to do the check-in. As soon as we entered the room, I took a shower, but I had to stop the water many times because it was not draining properly and therefore filling up with water. The drain was clogged because of hair stuck in it. Also, the property was supposed to have Wi-Fi, but it was not working properly which is a problem when you try to plan things. I was given a discount equivalent to one night’s parking (15 €) for the Wi-Fi problem which is insulting.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very helpful with suggestions on what to do, making several calls for me to inquire about times, costs, etc. The room was spacious and comfortable; the breakfast was just what we needed; the location was close to beach, restaurants, etc.
Cons: The room can get noisy at night as it faces the street and is on the first floor. We were there during a week of carnivals and there were people out in the streets until early morning hours.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: This hotel is very dated, the rooms look like they were designed in the 1970's and havent been updated since, there is no air conditioning and the shower/bath leaves a lot to be desired, with piping hot then freezing cold water, I would not be in a hurry to stay here again.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, service and hotel staff. Nice room and excellent bathroom. Clean...very clean. Excellent hotel near the sea and yet still in the historical centre. Walking distance to everywhere in the centre. You have to look out for rooms with a sea view..... book early. But it.s just as good.
Cons: We were only there for three nights....one can get very used to the good life!!!
