9.3 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful and you feel like you are in a little paradise, away from all. Everything is relaxed, the showers look amazing, the staff is friendly and the food is real nice!
Cons: To make it even more perfect it would be great if you can shower without holding the shower (or trying to squeeze it in between two bamboo sticks) (and while you're at it consider tall people ;) ) The mattresses can be improved...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Set on the sloping hillside overlooking the Lake Kibu, tents here don’t have special interior but the surrounding ambience is very fantastic and comfortable. Activities prepared by this lodge such as village hiking (2h) and boat ride on the lake (1.5h) were also really enjoyable. The food served in the restaurant is very tasty. Nearby villages are full of local flavor and good for just walking around.
Cons: Nothing especially. I liked everything.
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast and the views are amazing
Cons: No water at the bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to chill out by Lake Kivu. Accommodation is basic but comfortable, good restaurant, great views of the lake!
7.5 Good
Pros: The idea of helping the environment with the bathroom set up. Though it would be nice if this was explained in the advert for the hotel. Also idea of mending small holes in blankets instead to get brand new ones.
Cons: It was unclear how to get your tent cleaned. This resulted with our tent not being cleaned on the last night. Suggestion: perhaps each tent could have a clean my room sign. Also that our tent was placed next to local road which was rather noisy during the morning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Tout tout tout. Everything was really cool. We really appreciate the eco lodge The welcoming was really good. Hygiene was really nice. The Breakfast was
Cons: The bed was perfect but some of us found that pillow was a little bit hard
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Garden and Restaurant was great. Tent was not comfortable as you couldnt stand up!!
Cons: After long day driving & working I arrived at night time and even though I knew the sreet and rough placement of the property I drove past 3 times stopping asking many people, calling the lodge and finally had to be walked to the driveway by a neighbouring Hotel security gaurd because Inzu Lodge SIGN IS UNLITE & COMPLETELY INVISIBLE AT NIGHTIME. I WAS TIRED, MAD & FRUSTRATED BY THE TIME I ARRIVED !! Please put a LIGHT on the Sign !!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the lodge is absolutely fantastic. Every tent has a nice view over the lake. The staff is wonderful and always helpful. We enjoyed every meal in the lodge. The breakfast includes a lot of fresh fruits, and the dinner is superb. Of course they are better at making more local dishes or food from the grill than the more Western food, but every meal was great! The best part of our stay was the organized hike in the area. Our guide told a lot about the local villages and rural life, and showed us beautiful plantations. The best part about it, was that we learned Inzu Lodge pays his college fees, so that he can find a job in tourism when he finishes. All the money we paid for the tour goes directly to these guides (who are all students), so Inzu Lodge makes no money on it. We really loved this honest involvement of the local community in the work of Inzu Lodge! Concluding, I would definitely recommend this Lodge to everyone visiting Gisenyi.
Cons: The only downside was that the eco-toilets were not very hygienic and clean all the time.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, perfect for couples and nature lovers. Amazing view on Lake Kivu from the tent. Staff was really nice, we arrived very late and they even opened the kitchen for us to make sure we could have dinner somewhere. Excellent breakfast. Definitely Best Value for money.
Cons: Tents are quite small and not really adapted for tall persons.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Good food.
Cons: The bed wasn't very comfortable. The guides to the activities and pricing unclear. Prepare to pay double.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional! Friendly, pleasant and so helpful. The view is amazingly beautiful.
Cons: The rooms were very basic and there was no WiFi, telephone or TV in them. I guess the idea is to break away from the real world and be one with nature but for lone travellers this could be a bit depressing.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view and hotel grounds were beautiful. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this place.
Cons: The bathroom could use a slight update, but other than that everything was great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Palm Beach is in a beautiful setting on the edge of the lake, a lovely place to relax. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. There are great areas to sit and read or to hang out with friends. The food for dinner was always really delicious - I can definitely recommend the grilled tilapia. I would love to come back here some day - it is a lovely place to spend a few days.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved. The fruit plate and juice was lovely but twice I asked for pancakes to follow and after a wait, got waffles. However the omelette was nice.

Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. It is the best service I have experienced.
Cons: There was no air conditioning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really sweet! Loved the gesture upon our departure with the flowers and crepes. :) The rooms were lovely, and the area in general is super peaceful! Highly highly recommend!
Cons: The road getting there isn't perfect but that's not really a considerable thing to bemoan. :D
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is my second time staying here. The staff are absolutely wonderful. The view over the lake is stunning and it’s very relaxing.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is epic and friendly; they are Paradise Malahide's greatest asset
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Amazing staff and great food.
Cons: Distance from town.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff extra friendly
Cons: Getting rained on..
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff is absolutely lovely and very attentive to the detail. Food is excellent and the bungalows are spacious. If you fancy kayaking on the lake, Kingfisher keeps kayaks at the hotel and will start the journey from there. Rwanda adventures (for biking) is also really close. The hotel is on the lake - the view is beautiful! The hotel is decorated with local crafts
Cons: We had booked the Bungalow but the first night we were placed in a different (less comfortable) room because 1 person had extended their stay and kept the bungalow, the staff said sorry for this many times - however we thought that the extension of the other client’s stay should have not affected us but them. We also paid the price of the bungalow for both nights. The hotel is located near a church, the market and a famous restaurant - all 3 play loud music from mid morning until the evening, so not the most peaceful location to enjoy the lake. We heard the same few songs on repeat during all our stay!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, sheets and towels changed every day. The proprietor looked after valuables. Close to beach and local bars. Nice garden. Friendly security.
Cons: Hot water took about 2 minutes to come through but was good and plentiful when it did. Bottled water was not supplied.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: I was allocated a room where it was impossible to leave the premises without waking up a member of staff as the outside door was padlocked. If the staff member had been overcome with smoke let’s say then I would have been trapped in the building. A serious fire hazard. They relocated me when I asked.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The garden with a lot of animals (chickens, turkey, white rabits) and the location close to the beach and good restaurants (e.g. Tamtam and Pizzeria al lago).
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast starts at 7 am. I had to leave by 6.30. They have no provision for that.
Cons: Power went out. Apparently they had not paid for it.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location and the garden was great. Food was awesome
Cons: The room was not made, the owner said that he had not cleaning lady. NOISY! There's a few bars with extremely loud music at night and chickens singing at 4am... SO NOT THE BEST PLACE FOR REST. Not a comfortable mattress at all. THERE'S NO WARDROBE It's only the owner working there, so he's not able to provide a good service to customers.
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast that was included was nice, always came out shortly after we went outside in the mornings. It was nice to enjoy the morning air while we ate. The location is also really great as it is directly across from the lake and many popular restaurants and bars.
Cons: The bathroom was a big disappointment, the toilet didn't flush some of the time and the shower didn't drain or become warm. So it was cold showers and the bathroom turned into a lake within minutes of the water running. Additionally, I felt the place was too expensive for the quality. The rooms were quite small, we booked the "king room with garden view" there was no view and the room was not very nice. The bed was also not comfortable, it felt as though you were sinking to the ground when you laid down.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very good location. Nice garden. Personnal bathroom in the room with hot shower. Nice staff. Clean.
Cons: The bed wasn't very confortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: The Beach Garden B&B is nicely set a stone's throw from the beach in a local community but very close to Gisenyi town. The owner was very friendly and helpful with details about where to eat, how far things where etc. The room with ensuite bathroom was fine, we only missed a fan. The breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruits from the garden, coffee, toast and omelette. The owner gave us some extra fruits for our trip back.
Cons: This is a basic bed and breakfast, so don't expect a hotel. The room was fine and staff was couteous. There was no fan in the room to provide some comfort during the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right next to the lake. Lovely owner. Nice room and bathroom. 5 minute moto ride from border if visiting DRC. Highly recommended!
Cons: Not much!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The awesome and beautiful compound with nice birds the turkey, rabbits as well as proximity to the beaches was very close
Cons: The bed - we seemed to all collide in the center

7.7 Good (57 reviews)
Overview Reviews

5.8 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: The rooms and stairway
6.8 Good
Pros: View from the hotel is beautiful, its basic but not very expensive (recommended to pay in local currency and no cards accepted/against additional charge)
Cons: We had no water in the room, even though it was fixed within 30 minutes, hotel staff kept walking into our room without knocking. One person on our group had a bathroom that was very dirty (urine on the toilet seat). She was moved to another room and was then asked to pay more for this new room because it was more expensive.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lake view, the nice affordable restaurant, The lovely matress, music channels at the TV. Not much mosquitoes.
Cons: The noise coming from the main road, (specially the lake view rooms, very bad), constant water shortage. The strange exchange rate for "bookings' booking), i got some bad exchange rate, plus extra cost because of the room given (i booked a lake view room, none were better, but still i had to pay 10 usd more, The fact that some people (staff) would try to.enter many time in the room during the day. Charged delivery of food (2000 RWF)
7.5 Good
Pros: Helpful staff. Great views. Good location if you dont want to be in the thick of it.
Cons: I was unable to change the booking from a double to a twin on booking.com. Prices of rooms are cheaper if you book them yourself. Breakfast was adequate but no fruit juice and a little bit disappointing in variety.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very easy to find as it is on the road into town. There is a lot of parking, very helpful staff and the room was spacious and clean. The internet was a tad slow but worked all the time. Excellent is that all floors are accessible via ramps so no carrying of heavy suitcases as they can be wheeled up and down.
Cons: The internet could be a bit faster to make it more usable, but more importantly, our bathroom had no shower curtain, causing the bathroom to be rather wet after two people use the shower in the bath.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: My friend and I were in Gisenyi to see lake Kivu.. What we lived the most was the view the hotel afforded us.. We were able to see the lake directly from the hills. The staff were very helpful too. It's decently priced and worth everything and more.
Cons: I wished it had a pool though.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I liked that the property was easy to find on the main road. We were offered an early check in. Reception and housekeeping staff were polite.
Cons: I didn't like that the room was in a triangle shape and that we couldn't get into the bed from two sides - there was very little room to move in the room, especially for two people. The hotel looked quiet, which means that there was probably a chance that our room could have been allocated elsewhere. I also didn't like that reception was not clear about there being a local rate and a bookings.com rate, and I didn't know to ask (lesson learnt). When they found out we were local residents, reception didn't offer the correct rate, and continued to change us the booking rate.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: They really have an amazing view over the lake Kivu, especially the restaurant, which is located on the top floor. The food is also good, we really liked the fruits they serve for breakfast.
Cons: The water wasn't really hot and there was a weird smell in our room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay. They went the extra mile to ensure we were very comfortable. The lady called Jay was the best. We definitely staying there again.
Cons: The communication about the hotel switching off water in the evening. They can communicate better do guest know when the water will be off. Water is scarce but felt communication could have been done better. Although when you requested them to switch on they did so promptly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would to commend the staff for their warm reception we got from reception to the restaurant. But what stood out most for us was our room cleaner Cesar, he's a humble soul that made our stay enjoyable.
Cons: Honestly speaking there isn't much, except for the delay of preparing the food. But nonetheless we are content with what Kivu Peace hotel provided for us.

Pros: The view of Lake Kivu from the balcony of our room on the second floor was quite amazing. We were also pleased with the staff at the restaurant.
Cons: The choices at the buffet were very limited. I would recommend ordering your own food from the restaurant's menu as its best value for money. It also works out to be cheaper.

5.0 Okay
Pros: The views
Cons: The breakfast was a mess and the reception service is disappointing. Overbooked when I get there and no hot water in the room. Even with the payment I had some communication issues with the staff
6.8 Good
Pros: Location is great, nice view from the rooms, and the room was well laid out.
Cons: Bed was too hard for my liking.
7.5 Good
Pros: Patrick the waiter was the best
Cons: Needs some renovation work
7.5 Good
Pros: Old property
Cons: A lot of mosquitoes
7.0 Good
Pros: The pool and the view
Cons: I did NOT like the rat that the cook chased out of the kitchen and especially not that it jumped up on my leg.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was somehow quite. Large and free Parking. A night club around the corner.
Cons: Seems like a lot of things need to be reviewed! The reception was not aware about my booking! One must pay extra money for some small services like ironing or ordering omelets for breakfast! Staff looked somehow confused but welcoming anyway!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Stayed here about 12 years ago, booked with the expectation of finding the same beautiful property and vibrant environment as my last visit but was disappointed by how the property have changed to be a poorly maintained place, poor service quality and lack of professionalism from staff.
Cons: All the above plus some sound control between rooms. Had the worse night listening to next door guests fighting. Security could have done a better job to deal with this.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The pool and bar were very nice and well kept although the bar bill was expensive. Our waiter at breakfast could not have been more helpful and procured a very nice two course breakfast for us which saved the day.
Cons: The hotel felt very run down and unloved by the staff. They did not expect our arrival but did allocate us a large room with lovely views however few sockets worked, the TV did not work and the loud noises from other rooms in the early hours interrupted a pleasant sleep. We ate in the restaurant and the chicken was undercooked and bleeding, disgusting food that was not cheap. Breakfast had disappeared when we went to the restaurant with a few bits of bread left on a messy table. There was no juice, tea, coffee, just empty cups.
