the cleanliness of the hotel and it was quiet and peaceful the only issue we found was the bar isn't open for serving alchoholic drinks after midnight and there isn't room service
Very clean and modern rooms. Food good but restaurant small especially when you have a coach trip staying who fill up the restaurant. Would stay there again. On booking I requested a room not above 2nd floor but was allocated a 4th floor room. This was changed but if they had read my instructions should not have happened.
Sp0tless Communal check in bar and resturant multi purpose area not satisfactory
Brand new hotel, ideal for what we wanted None
Quiet, discreet, clean, easy good car park, hotel not in town center no fast food or possiblilty to eat a meal, but good breakfast
Rooms were comfortable, clean, with nice ensuite. Bed was lovely. Breakfast was not good, too little room for too many people, staff had problems keeping up with demand, so jugs, food containers etc were empty. No real tea or coffee just out of a machine. Just sausage and scrambled eggs which did not taste nice. Fruit juice out of a machine which had an aftertaste.
Easy and with a family of 5 plus dog it's hard to find somewhere that works - we had adjoining rooms. It was handy from the motorway and did the job. Overnight motel.
Pleasantly laid out; clean and tidy; cheerful staff. Pleasant decor in the room and attractive/practical shower room. Simple but good value breakfast. Poor lighting in the room (300) . There appeared to be an intermittent electrical fault in one light fitting which we mentioned, was apparently dealt with, but wasn't resolved.
the room we were given was covered in urine stains form an occupant having had a dog in there we counted approx 16 large stains and the room smelled
Clean and bright environment No lager on tap on night I stayed, and excessive price of bottled beer.
lovely large room no
There was not one thing that was good! Would like my money back as worst hotel we have been to in the uk. Even rang them yesterday and got nowere....
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Also to be upgraded without any additional charge is always a bonus. I felt the prices for wine were a little steep.
THe hotel and location
food and accomdation was excellent - great value wekend break perhaps only small thing was to have better pilllows
Clean well appoinred rooms. Pleasant view over Cooper's Hill. Excellent breakfast.
Modern, clean, large sized room with all facilities including fridge (with fresh milk!), tea-maker, etc. Comfortable, king sized bed, air conditioning and all usual bathroom requisites. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Set in own grounds with ample car parking. Semi rural location on scenic A46 to Bath and within short driving distance from Cheltenham & Gloucester. Also within reasonable distance from Tetbury (i.e. Highgrove & Westonbiirt Arboretum) & Stroud.
It was clean, comfortable and relaxing. A place to recharge the batteries. I have no negative comments to make.
The breakfasts were superb, very wide choice and all excellent quality. The evening dinners were very poor, only a limited menu which is only changed about every 3 months and the quality was not good at all. Difficult to believe that the same kitchens prepared breakfast (see above) and dinner.
As above - price of drinks
It was good value, especailly at teh discount rate.Breakfast staff were very friendly. Two lifts, one broken, other only held3
Good breakfast Toilet seat was broken in our room, it was just sitting unattached on top of the toilet. Long (human!) hairs on the bed cover
Location, decoration and reception. The mattress was a little too firm for me, but fine for my wife. £21 for two breakfasts was a little bit expensive.
We arrived at 11.30 and the staff allowed us to book in nearly as we wished to go into town. Throughout our visit they were friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. The decor in the rooms was a little dated and our friends found a hair in the bath.
General ambience and surroundings
lovely hotel and location exceptional staff and very clean very uncomfortable bed
Great setting with excellent views. Loved the rooms whilst small had atmosphere with beams & good facilities/decor Poor service at breakfast, slow & orders missed
the situation, the room was very good value for money the high cost added on for a full english breakfast and dinner
Easy access to motorway used as stop off point hotel clean with friendly staff good room in rear extension Trail bike racing in adjacent field for 1-2 hrs late afternoon(sunday) not mentioned !!!
Cleanliness, great value. Good location comfortable Noisy due to vehicles arriving at front door during the night/early mornig
Location, close to Gloucester but in the country Decor was tired
whirlpool bath, excellent food and service
The comfort of the room, and the fixtures & fittings of a high spec.
no bar available, pool and hot tub not available, both due to wedding but not advised at time of booking and hard luck attitude by staff
Friendly, willing staff. Informality.......to the extent of no-one on reception(!), despite agreement by email. Good basic fare. Bedding too soft. No bath - though did not specify this on booking. Shower did not work. The extensive facilities not open in the evening.
Friendly and efficient staff and warm comfortable and tastefully furnished room. Could have done with a re-clean - perhaps the room had not been used recently. Cobwebs and spiders in bathroom and bedroom floor gritty.
Lovely location, friendly staff.
This was excellent and the standard was as we intended for 'business trip rather than a luxury weekend. We were very comfortable and the breakfast was great with everything we could possibly want for choice.
I thought the dark barn lodge had excellent facilities. I was very impressed with the standardr of the rooms, and it was exceptional value for money
Fantastic spot and the staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating
very comfortable and welcoming. breakfast very good. good value for money
The receptionist and manager were very friendly. Our evening meal took more than 2 1/2 hours because of having leaky for a coach party to be served first. We ordered a daily mail which never arrived. On arrival the receptionist could not find a key to our room. The water pressure in our shower was reduced when someone else turned a tap on.
Friendly staff, nice bar with good beer, tasty evening meal, and a warm comfortable bed (though the room itself was maybe a tad chilly - certainly cooler than the rest of the hotel). The buffet style breakfast was luke warm at best, and it was annoying having to get up from the table every few minutes to get another cup of tea.
Location and grounds Decoration was "tired" looking a though it had not been refurbished for many years
The hotels position. The food was reasonably priced but was almost entirely out of a microwave.
Given the reviews of this hotel we were a bit concerned about what it may be like. It turned out to be a real find. New management have taken over and the rooms have be very nicely refurbished. At this stage only the lower ones have been done so be sure to check on this. They have a great outdoor garden area which on a sunny afternoon is quite pleasant. Our room had french doors onto an open area which was also a nice touch. There is also an excellent walk through a forest behind the hotel which gives great views of the Cotswolds. Meals were pub type food but of good value.
It was closed to my training course and in a relaxing area. Nothing all ok
The room was comfortable and well equipped although there was no suitcase stand. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice The shower in the room was a bit temperamental but delivered a good hot shower once the controls were mastered.
Convenient, good room, excellent breakfast
Staff were very friendly. Breakfast excellent! Bed was huge. We took our dog and they even made her bed every day. Location was good for Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. We will definitely be going back!
Location Breakfast not included
not a lot...depressing place depressing, old fashioned, unfriendly staff who looked at you as if you had 2 heads if you asked them a question
The Breakfast was good The Hotel was very old and in major need of renovation. It currently has an 80's feel to it. The leisure club, was old with run down facilities. The prices were doubled for the Cheltenham festival which was unfair.
The reception staff were wonderful. The "bar" closed at 23 15. With it then taking the night portaging team 45 mins to fetch a soda water and orange cordial. The gym closed too early and opened too late, as did the swimming pool. The foyer smelled of faeces, and everywhere else smelled of stale cigarette smoke.
Hotel very tired overall- updating work is mentioned when you book, but price doesn't reflect this enough.
leisure facilities restricted food menu at lunch time
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were very nice.
We had a problem with the other guests (rugby team) and the staff were brilliant about it, we had to check out early, but there was no fee or problem just very apologetic staff Dated bathroom decor
The dining room was too cold to sit comfortably.
Staff friendly You had to go outside the main building to a separate one for the bar and restaurant. There was no proper lift in the hotel.(some very odd, folded lift contraptions by the side of some of the stairs.)There was only a carvery menu in the evening and the fish I ate there was tasteless (no fried fish just boiled cod.) There was very poor lighting in the bedrooms.Generally, the hotel had a very seventies,old-fashioned feel to it.
The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. They were friendly and extremely polite
Leisure facilities Catering and attitude of most of the staff, who were less than customer focused ie they gave the impression they did not want to be there
The attitude and manner of the Operations manager Andrea Eldenbridge I book a delux room for our 30th Wedding annaversary. When we arrived we were told the online system had double booked so we didn't get a delux room. We were assigned a down grade (between standard and delux), a disable room, after unpacking we found the lavatory didn't flush properly. We were then moved to a standard room. which was a disappointment. However the staff tried to compensate, we got a fruit platter with icecream, though we were going out for a meal (which we had to go off site for because the restuarant could not accommadate us at the time our friends wanted to eat), and I got some Priority Card points to soften the blow. The staff tried to compensate, but a milestone anniversary was marred by this visit.
TOURIST NO LIFT
Convenience for sightseeing. Pool and steam room Poor choice of beers in bar
It was convenient for a short break in the Cotswolds Children running around playing hide and seek, so was very noisy upstairs. Christmas Party noise in dining room encroached into bar, it would be a good idea to have a bi-folding divide which could reduce party noise on other guests who just want a quiet drink
the food was amazing and room was spotless. my stay was perfect from finish to end.
the staff were friendly and very welcoming. hotel was very clean.
friendly and efficient staff surprised at the style and feel of the restaurant - it looked like a poor mans ikea cafe not something from a hotel of this standard
Staff very friendly and efficent, room very clean and modern, excellent breakfast. Ideally situated for shopping in Gloucester or Cheltenham, ample parking and would definately stay here again. Leisure facilities appeared a bit tired and jaded. Pool area in particular could do with a re-vamp.
The hotels bar was friendly and there was a good variety of snacks offered. The breakfast was an excellent standard. The room was comfortable and clean.
I loved the friendly staff and the room was great! First time in England and I felt at home! Nothing to complain about.
Staff were excellent - we had a problem with the noise outside our room in the evening and they upgraded us to another room immediately. There was also a problem with parking, for which we received a parking ticket, however the manager at the hotel could not have been more apologetic - he immediately refunded the cost of the parking ticket and gave us a complimentary evening meal. The food in the hotel was excellent - especially the evening meal - I would recommend this as a place to eat. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and I would recommend this hotel with reservation.
the staff were excellenet, gave lots of advice and were very customer focussed
The professional friendly staff. Having to trudge up to our top floor room. Did not know there was no lift.
The service in the resturant
nice location, good but reasonably expensive food all or nothing heating that sounded like a bank of extractor fans. very staid atmosphere. the most uncomfortable bed i have ever not slept on, not what you would expect from a "quality" hotel. we may still visit again but will run a mile if they try putting us in room 240, a definite no-no.
Room was very comfortable, restaurant was excellent, breakfast was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very well staffed. The gym is the worst I have seen, the pool, sauna etc is great, but the weights area was shockingly bad. I was able to get a session in as no one else was around but the weights area can only accomodate one person.
It was such a beautiful setting and the hotel was very convenient for visiting Gloucester Nothing
Fresh friut at breakfast, comfortable surroundings, friendly staff
friendly helpfull staff room on first night too small for a double, changed room second night all ok
lovely setting ideal location for exploring cotswolds we had the last room available which was atwin not a double as booked. The rooms were extremely warm(too warm) even with the fan supplied. Breakfasr was pletiful and varied but very average buffet style and the warmers tend to dry the food out and not keep it very warm at all. The second day was slightly better.
the staff were great food was very poor apart from the breakfast!!
Wonderfully kept property, tasteful decor. Friendly staff. Enjoyable stay. A little far from the city center for walking, but seemed to be a good base for exploring the area by car.
Wonderful warm welcome and very well trained staff. Excellent.
There had been alot of attention to detail throughout the hote Head room in the bathroom is limited and also the soundproofing was not great
nice clean room, was not asked if we wanted a "turn down service" and lots of photographers all over the place.
The hospitality and service were fantastic. Excellent location and surroundings. Family run. The size of the room was pretty small!
The hotel was super, very good room, breakfast etc reasonably priced in comparison to others of similar or better rating. Had stayed at the Queens hotel before which has a wonderful situation but preferred this hotel which we thought was better all round except for location at half the price. We had to use the car to get into Cheltenham, to walk in, shop and walk back would be too much. However it was worth it.
Very friendly and helpful staff both front of house and in general. Particularly proactive in recommending restaurants in Cheltenham and organising efficient taxis. Room was well decorated with modern amenities. Loved the feel of the Regency house itself. Would be scratching around to find a negative.
Stylish interior, good breakfast choice, friendly and competant staff. lackof headroom in ensuites
Premium room was superbly appointed, and spotless. No
evening meal excellent no pool
Pure Pampering, although expensive and we were upgraded on arrival
the food the view from our room
old-fashioned, customer-oriented, sincere, lovely service by well-trained people.
Location Bar and lounge lacked atmosphere and not inviting. Would have expected better from this class of hote. Price of drinks very high and inappropriate for this hotel standard
The location, the beautiful gardens, the attentiveness of the staff
Peace and quiet. Excellent service and high quality food.
We loved the ambience of an old luxury home. Also there was no noise -only birds and lovely clean country air, beautiful surroundings and lovely gardens. The staff were exceptional, the room was very luxurious - very comfy bed and the food was sensational. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to feel pampered. No
staff we excellent the hotel was first class and beautiful we could not get a table for evening meals
just okay . i liked the duvet and the width of the bed . home from home the quality of food was not up to expectations. certainly not as good as my cooking, even though i think it was michelin starred. the desserts were certainly dissappointing.
Towel rails were on all of the time so keeping the room very warm
Very easy to use, pleasant staff and generous over added guest at breakfast which in this day an age is commendable
Room was to hot
Very convenient location for City centre and transport links. Single rooms are very, very small.
Nice breakfast and ideally close to railway station. Room smelt of stale cigarette smoke.
Unpretentious and good value for money. The only meal taken was breakfast which was well cooked and tasty. Disgusting outside area where several weeks collection of cigarette ends and litter were allowed to accumulate.
very convenient for getting to cheltenham race course nothing
Comfortable bed; great shower; adequate breakfast; better than some other estalishments in Gloucester! Bedroom reeked of cigarettes; no information in room (on service, hotel, city, etc...) except fire drill; paying in advance; no remote control on TV.
position Lack of a lift to top floor.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good atmosphere Only 1 pillow.
Rooms well furnished and decorated
A very stylish, friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable. Very helpful staff.
Only way to descibe hotel is first class accomodation
Stylish and comfortable townhouse hotel located within 5 minutes' walk of the town centre. Excellent value and free parking. I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else in Cheltenham.
Convenience to the centre of town, parking, and being in a quiet position, spacious rooms, and good breakfast, hotel has friendly helpful staff,a very pleasant stay. None
Friendliness, welcoming, Comfiness of the room and breakfast. It was warm with sub-zero temperatures out side! Nothing
very near to shops room was clean and warm bed was a bit hard kettle had to be plugged in on bedside table not near tea ,coffee ect
Good facilities. Convenient to town centre. Good breakfast. All in all good value for money. No. I'd stay there again.
The breakfast! It was not "10 minutes from town centre" unless you were a teenager on roller skates! For a middle-aged lady it was 20 minutes. OK in daylight but undesirable after dark.
Food is very poor value for money, breakfast is poor
lovely rooms. excellent facilities
it was just ok, didn't feel 4 star access at arrival, directing you to carpark at back then through staircases and corridors back to main reception we could have accessed from front, felt like a delivery not a guest, the room smelled badly of damp, as must the others as the whole corridor did.
Friendly. Quiet. Staff were helpful. Good facilities - pool, resturant, bar, taxi service etc. Hotel loks a little bit old in places.
our room was very spacious and very clean, but quite a long walk away from the main block. everybody was very freindly. we eat one night in the restaraunt,we did nit feel the layout and organisation for a evenig meal was very personal and private, felt like you were eating in a canteen, and food was quite expensive for what you got. more than adequet for breakfast though, breakfast very good.
service was good room service was slow it took 50 miins and fire alrms consistantly going off
the bathroom was poor and basin drained very slowly.
The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, staff freindly and helpful the setting beautiful. What let it down was the restaurant which was pricey and the food average or less. My daughter is a vegan and ordered olives and bread as a starter from the menu. We asked about the composition of the chopped olives as my daughter could smell fish the waitress did not return, when we finally asked someone else they came back and said anchovies were included and a bowl of balsamic vinigar by then we had all finished ours. For mains we ordered a selection of vegetables and asked them to include some mushrooms and asparagus, what was delievered was a plate of boiled cauliflower, broccolli and carrots. They called this stir fry and charged us £12.50
easy access to Cotswold countryside
Breakfast good choice Room a long way from entrance
ble to leave the car in the car park for 3 days.
New Inn has a most pleasant atmosphere with a real feeling for tradition and history. Comfortable if a little old fashioined rooms nothing
The warmth and comfort of the bedroom Had I had a problem with stairs I would have been distressed, and the noise from the bar and club went on rather late.
Nothing. Glad to get away. This was a nightmare experience from start to finish. Thanks to its location in the middle of a pedestrian precinct, it took me over an hour of circling the ring road in rush hour to find a way of getting my car to the well-concealed NCP car park closest to it. When I did arrive, the reception was locked, so I had to go to the bar to find any staff. The bar was so thick with tobacco smoke as to be absolutely intolerable. This must be a serious health hazard, and all I can say to the majority 77% of the population who do not smoke is that they should steer well clear of this place until smoking in public places is legally banned in July. A barman unlocked the reception in an attemp to check me in, but had no idea how to access the computerised booking system or a fax which had been sent for me. Eventually another staff member managed to do this, then demanded advance payment for the room and informed me that I could not charge meals or drinks to the room, and would have to pay separately for them. On departure the next morning, the reception was again locked, and it was only because I happened to bump into a passing staff member that I was able to return my key. This hotel has no understanding of the concept of customer service, and I will certainly not stay there again.
Location was excellent and easy to find once car had been parked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Having to leave car in a car park which wasn't next to the hotel.
Easy Going friendly atmosphere No
Extremely quaint hotel, well located with comfortable rooms, really good public facilities, helpful staff and good, reasonably priced food. None really
Lovely looking with beams Cold room, thin duvet non working hairdryer, noisy generator all night long
Very quiet and comfortable room followed by a hearty breakfast. There was nothing that I could fault this hotel.
That is was very close to the central part of Glouchester, and that they had a bar.
position close to centre of town, only a short walk to shops, eating and local sights surrounding area a little run down but hotel ok
Friendly helpful staff N/A
sightseeing in Gloucester
Good Location,Clean, Breakfast Very Good, Room was Large and comfortable. Nothing to dislike
Friendly staff, very clean and well presented room walking distance from the town centre. Parking was included which would have proved difficult otherwise, a very good base camp for a shopping trip.
Free WiFi, ability to leave car in hotel car park and walk into city. Good breakfast. The meal was not home cooked but it was served in my room which was convenient and warm so quite acceptable and preferable to venturing out on a cold night.
The lovely warm cosy lounge where there was a wood burning stove and although I was the only one in there it was lit just for me.
The service was good and our breakfast host most polite and accommodating, providing useful information on request. The bed was too short for a couple who are both 6ft tall. On all of the three nights we had to park in the back alley as there were no available parking spots or access was restricted by patrons large vehicles (vans).
The bed was very large clean and extremely comfortable There wasn't enough tea or coffee supplied in the room. But was quickly supplied by the reception staff
I paid in cash for my hotel room and I was both irritated and annoyed that I had to provide means of identification. What for???
Polite and helpfull staff, Harsh (modern) lighting in room. Expensive for a Premier Inn, presumably cashing in on Cheltenham horse race meeting.
As always with your hotels a good standard of cleaniness, comfortable bed and a good shower. Receptionist was unsure of the booking process.
Room was very basic - no phone, no connection for mobile phone and no opprtunity for internet access although I did not need that. The razor socket was hidden in the bathroom and I had to ask where it was - seemingly a common problem . either change it or put up a sign to show where it is.
This hotel had a good clean room and a good medium to fair bed. I use Premier many times a year and this is by far one of the best I have staid in.
Staff polite, and professional Housekeeping poor, mould in bathroom, residue of vomit arounf toilet lid hinges.
Staff very helpfull. Possible to walk to town. Hot part of breakfast wasn't hot. WIFI is a total rip off at £9 / day. Bought a contract-free usb modem stick from T mobile in the town instead.
The design of the room was good & en suite good size Window had been left open and room was cold all night as heating not man enough to cope with cold night. Only one set of towels had been left in the room
it was handy location for visiting family we were not informed that breakfast times were different during the week, we were not informed that we could have a portable heater because our room heater wa not working.
