I like to stay in off-beat hotels and this one fit the bill. For the most part; it was fine, the staff was nice though I did not interact with them too much. The TV was not connected.
This is a small motel that is on Route 66. The owners are extremely nice, and they offer coffee in the morning which a lot of small motels do not anymore. The room was very clean, the shower had a lot of pressure. The TV is a flat screen Nothing, they had ice, the beds were comfortable. It is just older that is all, but that is it's charm
The cost was the main factor for choosing the Sands. The WI-FI really didn't work and there was no cell phone coverage at this location. Had to drive a few blocks to get a signal. The price reflects what we got but.
Great value for the price plus it is a genuine Route 66 motel. This was my 3rd time! Walls are thin but to be expected at an economy price.
Staff was very friendly with check-in and for information. Nothing

It is cheap and clean. Everything worked. Perfect for a traveller who just needs to sleep. Old, clearly vintage, a little cramped.
I thought the room decor was charming and it had everything. I loved the old fashioned details and the owner was fantastically kind, helpful and polite even when we arrived late at night. The breakfast was also very nice!
Clean room and bathroom, internet access, free ice machine, coffee and donuts in the morning, and kind responsive host available 24 hours in the office. All for very low price.
It's a vintage 1950s era motel with a few updates, such as an in-room refrigerator, a microwave, and WiFi. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was very polite. The price cannot be beat! If I had known that trains run all night long, and that Grants is basically a truck stop now, I might have selected a different place to stay (i.e., not Grants). However, given that it is very convenient to the Malpais, it was still fine.
For the price, I found that this little motel had a room that was updated and was clean, good shower, bed was comfortable, wifi and a new TV and matched in quality to higher priced motels in New Mexico.
Location on old route 66 was ok. The bathroom was not very clean. The hotel likely had its last update sometime in the 70s. The walls were paper thin.
Easy on & off freeway. Run down furniture, dirty, poor continental breakfast. They had a lot of construction workers & if you didn't get to the continental before them there wasn't much left
The quick and ease it took to book and get a reservation also the flexibility of the staff The phone in the room was unable to dial the front desk
Courteous and friendly staff. We knew Motel 6 does not offer breakfast, but we wish they did, like almost everybody else.
staff was courteous, it was quiet carpets were stained, no amenities,
The staff very helpful and friendly hotels New Mexico except Santa Fe do not have any idea where are the visitors center no maps nof the towns. And I am repeating no coffee machine in room, no hair dryer, no fridge etc
