The architecture was amazing. A combination of old (built around the town wall) and modern. The old stone work, including visible pieces of the granite mountain that is unmoved by man, made it interesting and rustic. Modern conveniences, like elevators There was nothing that I did not like. The only things preventing it from top scores was that the room was a little small, had a table that was too short to use easily as a desk, and the staff spoke very little English. That said, the staff was friendly
The ease of access by car. It was let down by the quality of the meat used in the restaurant and some of the restaurant staff.
Very pleased generally not the best location as a holiday base
Nice room; very good facilities;
It was a very short stay, but very pleasant and comfortable
noise in the room all night , we ear water in tubes!!!
the staff wre very friendly and helpful, the room very good, breakfast buffet was excellent only complaint is the difficulty in ffinding it
Good sized room & nice pool
This hotel provides us with a superbe overnight stay on our journey to the Algarve. We have used it many times and enjoy it even when it rains!
It was very comfortable and very good value. No
Everything. This has got to be the deal of the decade.
Staff were very helpful. View was amazing. Location was great. Restaurant was also great, nice staff.
Clean comfortable room with view, secure parking, well located for break in my journey from Santander to the Algarve
The location is convenient if you want to explore the little villages around. The buffet dinner was excelent and also breakfast was very good, with a big variety of food,
it is brand new and modern hotel, easy to find, the food was excellent and 20% discount on the evening meal. no
Bonne étape entre Portugal et France ! Personnel agréable, chambre propre et confortable ! Très bon rapport qualité prix ! Restaurant a éviter !
room, panoramic view from restaurant food was not bad but almost cold
scenic view a little out of the way of the main centre of the town
The secure underground garage. Adequate facilities for an overnight stop on the way from the Algarve to Santander.
We were immediately given another room because of a heating problem.
whole of hotel very clean and very near to motorway
Very good. Fantastic value for money Tv screen could be bigger.
no hot water
Large, well-furnished room. Maintenance: Our compainions' room lacked 2 light bulbs and had a broken shower.
Yes we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast coffee was not good.
Clean, spacious. Excellent all round. " minutes from motorway but very quiet. The hotel was not easily found. Clearer directions needed from the road. At first site there is a resaurant of same name with closed down derilict hotel attached to it. At first we thought this was where we had booked. In fact the hotel is round the corner from the restaurant next door.
we visited the center of Guarda,15 mins drive, walked around nice old town, probably better in winter. No bath. Shower 12 to 15 inches off floor,Hand held shower unit one is ment to sit in shower,I found it impossible,my wife would not even try,to dangerous.
huge rooms / very comfortable and clean ' nice breakfast, parking near the room, very close to high way the adress was incorrect and it was difficult to find ,driving to guarda at night is a problem.staff speaks poor english
Huge bed No TV however one night only it was no problem
The surroundings and the premises. The food in the restaurant. We thought the hotel doesn't justify the price.
Very nice hotel close to the Estrela mountains. Former monastery which makes the hotel very interesting. Very good dinner restaurant. Not walking distance for children in to Belmonte.
very lovely, comfortable, with several quite dramatic, romantic, and architecturally unusual common areas. the restaurant is very inventive and creative, good food. The rooms are quite nice, very modern. it is a bit of a distance from the main down - only a five or ten minute drive, but not accessible without a car if you just want a bit of the town flavor and to get away from the other tourists at the hotel.
I loved the decor of the place, and the rooms , poolside, and the restaurant was also good! The downside was not much to see in Belmonte itself.I liked the idea of monks for each room too, very cute and original!
Everything has been all right. The people at the Reception have been very helpful and friendly. Wonderful historical premises and location. Accurate cleanliness. High class Special Dinner the first evening on 27th February. The Restaurant's Dinner the second evening. The cuisine has been slightly dull.
The food was excellent. The staff was very helpful. The Pousada is very nice
A very relaxing stay with an excelent restaurant
historical features with nice furnishings public areas and restauarant. Fantastic views. Pillows in rooms very hard. We booked a romantic package which showed a double fourposter bed on the website. We got a room with twin beds. Not very romantic but still very nice room.
Nice location with beautiful views. Staff is very friendly Swimming pool area is small and not very attractive. Food in the restaurant is too expensive for the price. General atmosphere is probably better for older than for younger couples
Wonderful mountain view, the quietness, the staff is very efficient and nice, the hotel decor is perfect. We loved everything! Regarding breakfast a little more choice would be nice.
Very nice hotel and staff very helpful. Restaurant is good. Good breakfast and nice swimming pool.
breakfast and size of the rooms heating was not working the first night but the staff was very helpful and soon solved the problem changing our room
Big room with a nice modern style. Staff was friendly and helpfull. Good and clean breakfast. NIce location. Free internet altough very slow. Toilet had not been cleaned inspite of the desinfectado rapper. Dirty marks on the floor. Luckely we always carry a cleaning spray while travelling so we cleaned the toilet ourselves.
Very nice atmosphere and friendly helpful staff
It was very quiet and the personel was friendly and polite. There was a small patch of mold near the window wich gave a little odour, but no big deal.
Very well located for tourism purposes in a still well preserved country region. The World Heritage Rock Art is by hand. The World Heritage Douro Valley is by hand as well.
Nothing stands out it was functional and clean and close to where our friends live No Tea or Coffee available during the day or night, Menu not very good for our taste
It's a nice quiet hotel in the countryside, well placed between serra da estrela and douro international
Acceptable, tidy hotel Finding the hotel was a nightmare. Too far out from centre of town.
nice breakfast, free wi fi,good stop point for driving to west portugal, next to bar duvets instead of bed covers
Friendly and neat. Quiet. A/C was great. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Room very small. far from town centre.
The staff member (female) was very helpful, and gave us some great advice about where to eat around the area. The room was very nice as well and for what you get, its very good value for money, especially if this is just a stop off. Breakfast in the morning was advertised at 8am, but when we got downstairs, the whole bottom floor was dark and empty. We waited 20 minutes before somebody came out and opened up. The sound insulation between rooms is poor, and if somebody is speaking next door, you hear them - this happened to us for 3 hours until 2am! The corridors also echo, so it is not very peaceful. The hot water for the shower and basin takes ages to heat up.
Easy acces, good value for money. Little old furniture in the rooms.
The bed was great. The bathroom was very clean and inviting. The bar next door is friendly. Its convenient location near the highway. Finding a cockroach climbing out of the smoke detector. It didn't bother me personally that much since I have traveled extensively in South East Asia and I have sort of become used to the little buggers but I am sure if I had found this six years ago when I had only traveled in North America and Europe I would have been horrified. The restaurant beside the hotel was too formal and expensive.
Helpful staff, near motorway, easily found and a restaurant next door providing a good evening meal. Breakfast not avaiable before 8.00 a.m. on a weekday.
The rooms were attractive, the bed comfortable and the shower/WC clean and well functioning. Staff helpful with some minor problems we had. I also found problems with finding the location even using the navigation assistance. The breakfast at 8 am (9 am in Spain) is a bit late for those planning a long journey.
Location of hotel is good for overnight stop easy to find, not far from autoroute but far enough so there is no traffic noise. Restaurant next door good value, but closed Sunday nights with no other around. If staying Sunday night eat before arriving. Hot water takes about 30 to 40 mins before running hot enough for shower. Ok if your not in a rush.
Wow! What a wonderful place to stay! The Quinta do Pinheiro is an absolutely deliightful accomodation, rurally located in the region of Guarda. The rooms and grounds were very clean at all times. The rooms are elegant and old-world in design --- beautiful stone walls. Breakfasts are quite adequate. The family and staff are incredibly nice at every opportunity -- always willinng to help. The swimming pool is a real plus, as the weather was quite warm during our stay. Internet access was great, and very helpful. This Quinto is perfectly located to explore the National Park and surrounding area, including the city of Guarda. After a full day of exploring, it was great to return to the peace and quiet of Q'a do Pinheiro. Well done! Thanks! Nope, nada, nyet, zip, no way!
Is a great hotel!
It was a very convenient stop over for us en route from Santander to the Algarve and close to the motorway. It provided everything that we needed at a realistic price. I asked when booking if there was suitable parking for our car in which our dogs were to sleep. We did not receive a reply to this query, although in fact parking was fine and we were offered a garage. It would have given me peace of mind to have had a reply.
hotel staff entertainment
Peaceful location, comfortable bed, excellent buffet breakfast
The swimming pool was excellent. All facilities (food and room) were of high standard. The location (in relation to centre of Belsol) was some distance and would been difficult without a car.
Small friendly hotel in a quiet scenic location but convenient for main roads
The greeting at the hotel after a long drive was warm and friendly. The reception staff were very helpful, the room comfortable and dinner was excellent.
Beautiful setting with views over the valley. Exellent friendly service. Easy access on/off motorway for our one night stop en route Santander/Algarve
Friendliness of staff, value for money of food
Buen hotel, muy limpio y cuidadado, personal muy amable. Buenas vistas de las habitaciones que da a la carretera. Estancia agradable. Buen desayuno. Nice hotel, very clean and well kept, nice staff and good breakfast. Good views from the front rooms. There is nothing negative to say.
Staff, location - ease of touring the area Tired bathroom facilities and furniture -especially the bed.
a nice hotel with a good resturant
The Hotel Mira Serra is comfortable, the rooms with great balcony to a nice lanscape and to a very nice and great garden and the hotel is located in the centrum of the modern city services. it is all O.K.
The management and all of the staff provided a high level of service throughout my stay. The Hotel was maintained to and excellent standard and the meals were indvidually prepared and were supurb.I will be recomending Hotel Mira Serra to my friends.
Convenient for motorway, attentive staff, value for money Booking.com website gave me wrong exit from motorway. Hotel in need of refurb, or could become "period" furnishings in a few more years
Friendly staff, okay breakfast, good, clean rooms, hotel restaurant was not bad- decent Portuguese food for Portuguese prices. We had booked a triple room but were given a double room (so my wife and I could sleep together) with two extra beds for our children (6&7). With the extra beds folded out, the room was rather cramped, but we did not mind.
The manager was super, offering help with local tourist attractions, wine selections and other advice.....kudos
It was advertised as being near Guarda.......it was definitley not!!!!!!
Hotel well appointed Staff friendly and helpful
good value for money
We loved the views from our 'suite', enjoyed swimming every day from the river beach just across the field, had an excellent breakfast each morning, received very helpful information on what to see and do in the area, were treated as personal friends by the owners, appreciated staying in a historic olive oil and flour mill built of the local schist. Meals locally were good and cheap and the people everywhere so friendly. Quite simply we had a wonderful time! Nothing!
No English speaking staff. No daily room cleaning. Just a few tv channels.
A very warm welcome by the hospitable couple that runs the hotel. Very interested and interesting people. You are treated as a friend rather than as a mere customer. It's a pity our Portuguese is so basic. For the rest : nice, clean rooms and a beautiful location.
The house is spectacular and the owners are extremely nice people, the decoration is very tasteful.
After a day riding in the mountains getting lost we arrived late but were greeted with a friendly smiley face. Nothing was open in the town but Joaquim made sure we did not go to bed on an empty stomach! Our suite was beautiful and the building which is a converted mill was stunning. It was the most memorable place during the whole of our hotel.
