Located on 7 acres of country land, this Wantage, New Jersey hotel is 1 mile from High Point State Park and the Appalachian Trail. It features spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. A microwave and refrigerator are standard in every room at High Point Country Inn. All rooms include a cable TV and private bathroom, and are warmly decorated with carpeted floors. Guests can enjoy a walk through the garden or have a picnic and use the barbecue grills. Free parking is available on site. Space Farms Zoo and Museum is 7.8 miles from the hotel. Mountain Creek Water Park is 16.5 miles away.
Pros: The location of the motel was great, really close to all the parks and activities I was looking to do. Finding the motel was also quite easy - on a major road. It was about 15-20 minute drive to Port Jervis, and there were options nearby for food/gas. The room itself was spacious and had all we needed for 1 night stay. The motel itself is as you would expect from the photos; kid of old/outdated, nothing special. Pretty basic motel overall, but all you need for sleeping. Wifi worked well in the room.
Cons: There was a huge thunderstorm that day which knocked out our cable tv, was unfortunate but not important. The walls between rooms are quite thin so we could hear everything in the rooms adjacent to ours, and also easily hear people walking around outside.
Pros: Lovely setting close to great hiking.
Cons: Need to stand on a chair to reach the air conditioner.
Cons: A continental breakfast would have been nice.
Pros: Very close to High Point State Park.
Pros: Great people amazing views pet friendly
Cons: Amazing place to stay great views pet friendly. Staff was so friendly. We will be back again. A must stay... big thumbs up
Pros: Friendly staff. Great location.
Cons: No tissues. Loud AC
Pros: This place had rustic charm. The staff was welcoming and friendly, including Batman, the dog. Evenings were very pleasant, sitting outside, socializing with staff, other guests, and sometimes neighbors, and enjoying the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. I will be staying again at times in the near future as I continue my arrangements regarding a new home. I feel that I've already made friends there.
Cons: Nothing! I cannot think of one negative thing and am looking forward to my next stay there in a couple of weeks!
Pros: i didn't know there was breakfast???????????? that's bad!!! i should have been told at front desk! i liked everything but the hard bed and heater to figure out...
Cons: hard bed and had to jiggle the heater to get working
Pros: comfortable bed, nice hot shower, friendly staff, beautiful location, clean room
Cons: coffee maker
Pros: Secluded location, beautiful scenery, nice well-maintained grounds, friendly host.
Cons: Everything was great. We had to leave (reluctantly) early in the morning, so we didn't try the coffee.
Pros: It's relaxed. The setting and view are wonderful. It is convenient to Port Jervis and Milford. It is like stepping back in time.
Cons: The walls are fairly thin and so if your neighbor in the next room falls asleep with the TV on (as ours did) you will faintly hear it all night. The heating in our room was a bit strange since it was either on or off but we got it to be comfortable.
