Family Budget Inn - Harrison - Building
7
7.0 Good (349 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Harrison, Family Budget Inn is a 2-minute drive from Lyric Theater and 6 minutes from Maplewood Cemetery. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, laundry facilities, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.3 Good
Pros: The parking situation was great and bathroom was very clean. Great wifi and TV. Plenty of outlets, and overall a good value. The rooms are pretty spacious, too.
Cons: The room was musty and the air con was off so it was very humid and took several hours to cool down. The room smelled very much of stale smoke. Bed wasn't as comfy as I read in other reviews.
7.5 Good
Pros: It’s easy to get too and the room was clean and the owner was nice too
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guy at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Cons: They might've had more offerings for their continental breakfast.
6.3 Good
Pros: Room was otherwise clean and staff was friendly
Cons: Our only complaints would be other guests were quite loud and in and out of vehicles and room most of the night and location of our room next to a garage area was where they felt was a good place to hang out and the room needed airing out it was slightly musty smelling
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Hot water lasts forever. Good clean towels and linens. Firm mattress was newish and had clean bedding and new pillows with pillow cases. Had security doors that had not only peepholes but deadbolts, chains and a scan vs slide card that made me feel very secure. The staff was very accomodating. I watched as two ladies were giving their opinions on what all needs updated ( They thought it needs usb charging stations vs regular plug ins) and instead of having an attitude watched as the young man behind the counter wrote down the suggestions and profusely thank the ladies for their suggestions & tried every which way to make people happy. I would rather stay someplace that may not be perfect/up to date but they at least acknowledge it and are actively working on addressing their issues. Would stay again just because of their customer service. They are the only non chain hotel so the owners really pride themselves on you being happy. An example is: I like REALLY strong "campfire coffee" and the poor guy didn't know what I meant and so he was googling it to try and make it for me. I told him we would have to go camping to get it and was giggling. Meanwhile his Dad was bringing out different coffeefro the back. I didn't have time to wait for them to make a new pot (they seemed genuinely disappointed) as I had to get to a conference but the fact that they would even do that was awesome. Their servant leadership spoke volumes.
Cons: You could tell they were in the middle of updating as the bathroom was new but the carpet was worn right where it transitions. Needed to run the hot water a minute to clear the water as could tell it had been a bit since it was ran. After running the hot water it cleared up though very similar to other mountain areas. Older property- so not for nit picky people but will work perfect for those who are are on a budget and just need a good clean place to sleep.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: There was hair in tub and on floor the room really smelled like ciggerette smoke even though it was a smoking room when you walked in the smell hit you in the face
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the pool kids enjoyed it. Friendly service
6.0 Good
Pros: Good place for the money. Staff was friendly.
Cons: Bathroom little small & water wasn't very warm.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Desk clerk was extremely friendly
Cons: Room could have used a little remodeling. Cracked walls, broken fixtures
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were awesome. Air conditioning was heavenly.
Cons: The positions of the electic outlets. More electric outlets by the bed would be a nice touch I think.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall, the property was nice. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
Cons: We could not figure out how to get any channel on the TV. It just had a logo displaying. We pushed every button on the remote and on the TV to no avail. This was after we figured out how to turn it on. It was plugged into an outlet that was tied to a light switch...which was turned off. The water from the faucet just trickled out.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Hole in ceiling and walls. Over priced and no Ada compliant ramps close to the room. Made a bad decision coming here.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Large spider and web on balcony walkway loud cussing and drinking guests
Cons: Ask for non smoking and you could smell cigarette smoke had to buy fabreez air freshener to spray in both rooms
6.3 Good
Pros: Location and was comfortable. Pool was in good shape.
Cons: Some staff a bit cold and could have been a little more forthcoming with info about property. Property dated and needs renovation. No oatmeal for breakfast and had to alert staff they were out of some items/utensils at 8:30 AM breakfast.
5.4 Okay
Pros: It was right in town and price was good
Cons: There was no coffee in room, the floor was not vacuum up against the wall and there was pubic hair in tub that I had to clean before we could bath
5.4 Okay
Pros: Not much to like here
Cons: It was not very clean. We came there late at night after being at Branson MO all day and open the room and first thing we see is roaches so it wasn’t a good night for sleeping
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was outstanding, prices where excellent and the hotel was very clean, old but very clean.
Cons: Free breakfast could have more options, but it's free, so hard to complain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They remember us by sight!
5.0 Okay
Cons: They didn't have any breakfast
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Motorcycle friendly! The staff was very friendly & helpful. They gave us a ground floor room close to the office, so we could keep an eye on our motorcycle. They even offered to let us put it under the awning if it rained. They also provide towels to wipe your bike.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Tv
Cons: Beds stained with urine and blood. Hair dryer falling out of wall. Bath tub had mold on ceiling. Bedding wasnt changed.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The staff.
Cons: Everything, the coffee machine didn't work during our entire stay, y'all say you serve a full breakfast but had very few items to choose from and no eggs what so ever. The biscuits were hard as rocks and the gravy looked like it was left over from the day or two before just reheated up and there was nothing else to choose from to eat not even breakfast rolls or something. I've stayed at places that serve only a continental breakfast that was better than this place. The rooms sucked the beds were hard as rocks, the pillows weren't any better either. I do have to admit the front desk staff were nice, but that doesn't make up for the facilities.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice staff. Nice location. Breakfast was good. Great air conditioner in room. Coffee maker, TV, hairdryer, microwave and fridge worked
Cons: Hard bed. The furniture looked like a pack of hounds chewed every corner of the furniture. The ceiling tiles in bathroom were moldy, mildewed and the hanging hardware were rusting; all of this could be attributed to no vent in the bathroom. The fire alarm was installed upside down. The door/security chain was installed vertical, meaning the door unchains itself when opening. I am 5’10” and the shower was about six inches shorter than me. The housekeeper cleaned the room nicely.
