The very good restaurant.
The hotel had a relaxing feel to it, really nice room with sea view.
The overall ambience of the hotel, the comfort, friendliness of the staff and the first class views from the guest lounge and the restaurant
Great staff and restaurant. Nice ambience in the hotel. Great views of the sea. The room had a strange smell
The staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was excellent both in terms of quality of quisine and service Nothing . Everything was as good, if not better than expected.
The evening meal was very good
superb location, nice clean room overlooking Mounts Bay, excellent dinner and breakfast .Room heating a little hot for us
Staff were excellent and very welcoming
The staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful and the restaurant food was excellent
reception staff gave very good service - very friendly. The food was delicious, especially the Farmhouse breakfast.
Staff were great, kind and helpful. It was near sea with a beautiful pedestrian walk just 5 min walk. It was also near town centre and a Tesco Express for a quick shopping! Due to there being a (classic) bar at the ground floor in the hotel, there were loud noises coming out starting from about 8:00pm to midnight; it was weekday though! Also, I did not like the breakfast as there was a very limited variety of foods/choices for the breakfast.
The names of Cornish towns for the rooms a very nice idea Very clean and personal kind
Only stayed for the one night, all the staff that I saw were very polite and helpful, the room was comfortable and presented very nicely.
Simple, friendly - good pub - good breakfast. En suite bathroom was a bit cramped. General condition of the hotel was a bit tired.
We liked the wonderful location with views over Mount Bay and easy access to the coastal footpath, the excellent food and the friendly, efficient staff.
Friendly staff and efficient No
The hotel was located in a peaceful area with well kept gardens and wonderful views across the bay. The staff were excellent and the food was very good. It was also nice to have leisure facilities We chose a large inland facing room with views over the car park, rather than having a much smaller room albeit with a sea view. Next time we would try and book a large sea view room. We also would have liked to have some 'nibbles' served with pre-dinner drinks - we asked but were told these weren't available.
The chairs ,tables and carpets were shabby and the hotel needs extensive refurbishment.
Food was of a high standard. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Service in the restaurant needs improving. We had to ask for bread to served to us more than once, it arrived whilst we were eating our starter. On one occasion the waiter dipped his cloth into the sauce on my plate which he had just served to us. There were a number of occasions where items were dropped in the restaurant.
Wonderful location. Pleasant Staff.
The hotel was well run and the food was excellent. The location was superb and we will recommend to our friends N/A
The rooms are were large and comfortable. The hotel location was terrific. Not enough tea bags provided - a minor thing.
Excellent location if you like outdoor activities. Only one bad point. When I arrived at the hotel they had no record of my booking. Fortunately they still had a room vacant.
The breakfast was very good The Shower Room was extremely small
People and location
Easy to find, good location Nothing to dislike
Friendly staff. Reasonably priced and extensive restaurant menu. Excellent location for West Cornwall. The parking facilities could be better.
A very friendly family run hotel in the centre of the village. The rooms were a bit cramped, but extremely clean. The food was good. Not suitable for elderly or disabled. The stairs were very steep. The parking was tricky!
The room was comfortable and roomy, as was the bathroom. The room had a good view at the front of the square and in the bathroom you could see the sea, which was good. My only complaint would have been at breakfast, would have liked more cold drinks available rather than one small glass of orange juice. At most hotels that we have visited you are able to 'help yourself' to these which I personally find good as I dont drink tea or coffee.
Excellant location at the centre of St Just. The staff were friendly and helpful, we stayed with our baby daughter and they were very accomodating. The room was very spacious and suited our needs. Felt that some aspects of the room were tired and in need of updating, particularly the matress and shower.
The friendly staff and the English country pub atmosphere and of course the country side. Because our stay was of a very short duration, we relied on public transport / taxis / foot for transport. Not the fault of the Hotel but incomplete info on the web site.
The warm log burner in the bar. Good beer, nice food and friendly staff. The room was a good size and comfortable There was no soft seating in the bar and no guest lounge.
The personal friendly service by the owner and his family. Breakfast was the best of all the hotels we stayed out during our 4 week visit to the UK. The area must be promoted as a destination of choices, proximity to other places eg Penzance, lands ends, St Ives was great for ease of travel. Most of the village environment was everything I desired as a tourist.
Lovely location, cosy lounge, pleasant dining room and terrace.Bed very comfortable and huge.Lovely large towels. Hotel being renovated, wet paint everywhere. No bedside table for lamp glasses etc. Asked for a chair to use as table. Did not get one.No chair to sit on only bed. New owners been there one winter. Obviously working hard to get things up to scratch. Long way to haul cases to reception and then to room. No help available. Staff pleasant but were.busy from big function the night before. Tables not laid properly, no cruet, kept having to ask for missing items. Swim pool not up to standard, but in room brochure explained it is only still open at request from locals. It is due for refurb. Nice golf course overlooking sea, very close to lovely walks and pleasant little town of St.Just. When all work done, it will be fine and we would go there for ambience and area. Host friendly and hard working.
The location was lovely and ideal for walking. I found it very hard to sleep the first night because the walls are so thin that I could hear the guest in the adjoining room talking walking around the dog knocked over items in the room attached it sounded like they was in our room.
Owner manager very nice guy and all staff helpful. Food good but rather lacking in flavour.eg game pate tasted of nothing and lemon tart needed some lemon in it ! waitresses should keep a closer eye on diners to avoid long waits for attention which was difficult to signal when they are not looking ! however I enjoyed my stay and would stay again. I wish them success as they gain in experience. Great location and homely atmosphere both relaxing. Sorry.....see above ! mixed in with the good !
Friendly helpful staff, delightful location, superb value for money, nice cuisine, impossible to fault, we would go there again One of the bedrooms was a little 'rustic' with a big skylight which let some light in at night, but apart from that no problems
the breakfast. Staff attitude and honesty temperature and layout of room. lack of full facilities advertised.
It was a lovely location, small and friendly and above all great value for money. The wind howling through the room!
Very quaint accomodation
Fantastic cuisine, great staff, beatifull place. No bad points[one bad point for me,i did too short reservation, next time I wish to stay longer]
Good all round deal. Room was a bit basic.
Excellent food, service and location. Slightly difficult to reach, and no map given. But the isolation was also a plus point!
