10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simple brilliant.. the staff, the location, the room, the food.. it all exceeded expectations and was throughly enjoyable
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great staff... all of them.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great get away from it all location..Great if you like to walk which we do..
Cons: A cheese platter to share was on the evening Menu and my husband asked if they would do it for one which they said was not a problem..It wasn’t the best cheese board to be honest and when we received our bill we were charged the full price of £12.70 ..When we questioned it she replied that the cheese board is only meant for one person not to share...I think they need to change the wording on their Menu !! That has to be the most expensive cheese board we have ever had and if we had known that that was the price we certainly would not of had it, it wasn’t worth it at all..It put a damper on our few days there to be honest..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The food was lovely. Staff friendly and the locals fun and friendly also. Good that they accept dogs.
Cons: nothing really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location in Cadgwith Cove. Great sea views. Fantastic staff. Wonderful seafood.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Inn with traditional values.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place. Really good atmosphere.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The evening meal of Megrim sole, new potatoes and small salad was very good but instead of salad, French beans would have made the meal excellent: the fish was cooked to perfection! Breakfast was excellent too, my tea, on request, was just how I like it (strong). The room, bright and airy. with lovely good quality white towels everything clean including the separate newly refurbished bathroom (since my last stay).
Cons: Nothing! even the weather was perfect although it's just as good when the weather is not so good, I know, because I've been there when it continually rained.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent with a number of choices. The location was ideal for the type of holiday we wanted. Parking in the car park a few hundred yards away was not a problem as we had stayed at Cadwith Cove Inn before.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the whole ambience and location of the pub

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very hospitable. We were welcomed with smile and warmth. Please look after your staff. They are really caring to customers.
Cons: Could have been better if there's an indoor pool as we weren't able to use the outdoor pool since it was windy and raining heavily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely and delicious and the staff were professional and attentive. The facilities are classic and comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are extremely clean. Overall a great experience.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was perfect. We just wish there were more dining options for families with kids/babies. But the staff took care of us and gave us a nice option.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very , but see below, Lunches and the choice was excellentL location was the best on top of the cliff
Cons: Breakfast - the mushrooms were bland And whole breakfast should have been put on hot plates to keep the eggs and beans going cold The ongoing works caused no disruption, The swimming pool should open earlier
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and view is fantastic. The food in the restaurant was excellent plus a different menu each night which is always brilliant to offer. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive with a special mention to the “waiter / wine waiter” with surname Br@@ he was particularly helpful. 4* service in a 3* hotel
Cons: Shame the pool and spa was not finished as it looks to be a great investment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic service, location, staff and food. The hotel is clean and better maintained than most. The period decor is in great condition a real credit to the staff and management.
Cons: Set price for meals in the restaurant with only a 3 course option. The smallest of standard rooms, although beautiful and ok for a couple of nights would be too small for a week's stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent tasty ample breakfast. Staff very attentive.
Cons: Nothing very much.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The bed was amazingly comfortable - we are walking the South West Coast Path and to have a bath and soak aching limbs and a really comfortable bed was just perfect. The best nights sleep I have had in ages! Cream Tea, Dinner in the Bistro and a well cooked vegetarian breakfast in a very comfortable hotel with fantastic staff - what more could we ask for? Once the spa refurbishment is complete this must surely be one of the best hotels in the area.
Cons: Nothing really - the outdoor furniture could do with a spruce up however I suspect this will be addressed as part of the spa refurnishment.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff, location and food were excellent. We had a very tasty lunch Sat outside in the sun with excellent service. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of choices. The added touches of a selection of preserves on the table was lovely and the very tasteful salt and pepper holders was noticed. We also had locally made Easter eggs on our table. Only one complaint and that was the old socks and t shirt along with the dirty stained boxer shorts in the bedside table. We did bring it to the attention of the reception manager who did apologise but a complementary drink or small gesture of goodwill would have been nice. However we did enjoy our stay and would visit again.
Cons: The dirty pants and socks in the drawer and no complimentary drink or something similar. Also not the best parking.

Our host was the nicest host I've ever met, he was helpful with sights to offer and also made the most amazing Cornish breakfast. :) This place is pure gold for its price, our room was small but very cozy with everything we needed and was also very clean. Charlie, the dog is also a cute addition to the place (he stays only in the garden) and does not bark at night :) The place is extremely friendly and a perfect spot to stay if you would like to look around Cornwall.

Yha Lizard - Helston - Beach
11
9.1 Excellent (230 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A former Victorian hotel with fantastic sea views, YHA Lizard is just a minute’s walk from the scenic coast and beaches. It includes a self-catering kitchen and a shop for guests. Guests at YHA Lizard can relax in the lounge, dining room, or the spacious, pretty gardens. The building itself is one of the southernmost buildings in the UK, and many rooms provide excellent sea views. Laundry facilities are available at the hostel, with washing machines for use by guests. The majority of bedrooms contain bunk beds. Parking is free at YHA Lizard. The lovely village of Lizard, with its pub, restaurant, and shops, is less than 15 minutes’ walk away. The nearby coast offers numerous opportunities for bird watching and scenic walks.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly reception. Well located for southwest coastal path. Comfy common room. Kitchen well equipped, if you are self catering. Everything was clean and well kept.
Cons: Expensive for what you get. Tiny shower cubicle with little place to hang clothes. We had a room with four bunk beds, there were two of us, so this was ok, but four adults with hiking packs would find it a squeeze.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully located at the tip of the Lizard, splendid views and nice garden. A good kitchen and comfortable common areas.
Cons: The dorm was somewhat cramped and the beds old, luckily not all beds where occupied.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely friendly lady on reception
Cons: No food to buy! The website says there is a shop within the YHA to buy food to cook - I walked 22 miles on the coast path and arrived hungry and couldn’t eat dinner! Website needs updating.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The views were amazing, the lounge very comfortable and the gardens were stunning. Great location and very friendly staff.
Cons: The showers were very small and the lower bunk beds were on the floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic, lovely, quiet and relaxing place, next to the Lizard lighthouse, just at the Coast Trail. Beautiful views from the rooms, clean and pleasant. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended walk from the hostel to Kynance Cove.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location - Lizard is absolutely gorgeous and worth a visit - several good cafes within a walk from the YHA. sunsets to die for, access to the Coast Path.
Cons: It was our first stay in hostel, so I wasn't sure what to expect, other than really cheap. while the location is 5-star, the room we had was 89 pounds, and for that we got indoor/outdoor carpeting, a bathroom that smelled musty and had a plastic-sheet floor/wall combo with a drain in the middle for the shower. it was a handicapped-accessible bathroom, but the moldy cracks in the ceiling and the toilet being separated from the shower by nothing made it feel more like an industrial washing space than a bathroom. the furniture in the common room was stained and everything just felt pretty beat up. In comparison, the hotel we stayed at the following night in Saltash had a kitchenette, was newly renovated and had a beatiful bath, a heatlhclub, spa, and restaurant, golf course, and manicured grounds and was only 11 pounds more. The desk staff at the Lizard YHA was so friendly and accommodating, but it's important to know that they are only available from 9-10am, and 5-9pm. our bags were delivered during the day, and we arrived after walking 15 miles only to have to wait around to access the building and our bags. All in all the place served it's purpose as a place to crash, clean up, and find a charming bite to eat after a long hiking day. my only issue was with the price in comparison with other places we stayed that had cleaner/better amenities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an amazing hostel in a stunning location. I can't rate it highly enough.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and nestled within a beautiful garden on the Lizard. We had a very light and spacious room, which had a gorgeous view. It was very quiet too - we had a lovely welcome from a great host who was very helpful indeed. We were able to leave our bags the following day too, which was really useful. We didn't use the broader communal areas but they looked very big and clean
Cons: Very overpriced for what is a very basic room; we stayed for one night on a Saturday so guess that had something to do with it. There was a bunk bed, which was impossible to access as the ladder was up against the wardrobe so we both shared the double lower bunk bed - it was quite small for two averaged sized individuals.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and soft sofas!
Cons: The beds - a little too narrow.

6.8 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom. Staff very friendly and as helpful as they could be. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Adjacent to a church with a clock that chimes on the hour, every hour, all through the night. Not so good for light sleepers.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: location was good and the room was a decent size and food in the evening was very good. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Service was quick and efficient. Lots of nice places to visit within a 20 minute drive.
Cons: orange juice at breakfast needs to be upgraded. It was probably the cheapest you can buy. Also we weren't automatically offered toast at breakfast we had to ask for it. Bit odd as jam was provided but the only toast was what came on your cooked breakfast. we were given additional toast once we has asked for it. Also lack of hanging space in bedroom. We stayed for three nights and struggled with somewhere to hang everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The friendly staff
Cons: Broken key for fire escape.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pub/hotel is set in a beautiful little village, quite off the track in Cornwall. Typically quaint and English. We will know where to stay on future visits to Cornwall. We only had breakfast, which was a delicious full English. The bed was extremely comfortable, pleasant decore and everywhere is very clean. The staff very friendly and accommodating
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff is really friendly and they have been really helpful
Cons: Have never stayed in a hotel that with a shower water like this, the electric heater in the shower heats very little water and that's all the water you get to take a shower... very bad experience. Another thing is that the window of our room faces cemetery ... and that's all you can see through the window
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff and food were lovely, especially the breakfast, room over looking the church was nice
Cons: The shower was an old Mira electric job and not great, the TV was pointless, not many channels worked and it was ridiculously small
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast good location
Cons: A very loud and large extract fan from the kitchen right next to my bedroom window. I'm a pretty sound sleeper but this seemed to be running all night and I woke up earlier than I intended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Noisy due to local event

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Location was superb with unrestricted views of the ocean both from the lounge and the restaurant. It had instant access to the coastal path for walking. There was plenty of space with indoor and outdoor swimming pools. I had an evening meal with my son which had very good quality ingredients including fresh fish, roasted vegetable and what looked like hand made pizza. The cooked breakfast was also excellent with the full range of choice available. Staff were very friendly.
Cons: When I first arrived and took a look around the floors did not look as if they had been swept or vacumed in the lounge and on the approach to the White room. Apart from the main lounge area the other public rooms looked dark and uninviting. The internal decorations looked a bit tired including the shower in my room which could have done with the tiles replacing on the floor as they looked worn and grubby.

Pros: Staff were friendly and very helpful although breakfast service was a bit patchy. Location is wonderful with lovely views and good access to walks and sea. Electric car charging was supported, but not a very convenient system and was not advertised. Food was good but the dinner menu was not very inspiring for vegetarians - pub food in the town suited us better.
Cons: Lack of storage shelves or drawers in the room. The shower temperature was very difficult to manage at times. The cold water temperature (handbasin) was sometimes seriously hot!

Pros: Very modern, refurbished room. Breakfast very good, with plenty of choice, and served by helpful waiting staff. Beautiful and well cared for gardens.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Roy and Jayne hosted us brilliantly. It was my first marriage anniversary and they were happy to decorate the bed with rose petals before our arrival. The room was clean and cosy, interior in kind of Greek style. They've asked us about any food allergies or if we're vegetarian and they've prepared lovely veggie breakfast for my wife. I was having very tasty Cornwall breakfast. Roy gave us tips in terms of the surrounding areas, high tide and low tide etc. The place is located around 12 minutes from outstanding Kynance Cove and short distance to lovely Lizard Point.

7.5 Good
Pros: A large room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order.
Cons: We were on the second floor up a narrow staircase. The temperature was in the high 20s while we were there and the room was very warm with a thick feather duvet on the bed which was redundant. A fan would have helped.

6.3 Good
Pros: big room, big bed, big bathroom. Felt clean and it was nice to find so much room in a classic pub inn.
Cons: the check-in meant going to the pub next door and waiting for a spot at the crowded bar in order to get the attention of the manager so she could show us to our room. pretty rank pub, to be honest, smelled awful and was crowded with drunks in the middle of a weekday afternoon. at night, our room overlooked the exit from the bar, so we had to listen to drunks yelling til way past midnight. helston had decent places to eat, but otherwise it wasn't much to look at.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfy and the staff was lovely
Cons: The wifi or lack of, there was a notice in the room but the wifi network was not working.
