Cons. Mold and holes in the walls. Really?
Pros. The room was clean - the beds were comfortable. The staff was quite personable. We were visiting family and the location was perfect for us; we will definitely stay there again.
Cons. Not a lot of choices for breakfast - waffles, cereal or not very good bakery.
Pros. Not much, except the manager did try to alleviate the check in clerks major attitude and opinion of me and my family.
Cons. Entering the correct date on my inquiry did not translate to a correct check in date at the hotel. I arrived and was treated like I had oozing leprosy by the odd and very unfriendly clerk. He offered no help in trying to figure out what happened, and tried his very best to try to burn us on a "singularly available" room. This after he just informed someone he had 26 rooms open. Several guests were gathering behind us watching this whole show this character put on. No kayak, no hotels.com, no microtell ever again for us.
Cons. This hotel cost $170 on hotels.com and looked and smelled like a $40 hotel. There was a bunch of construction debris in the parking lot, and the view was a weedy lot and some type of industrial storage area. The carpet was dirty, there were dirty hand prints on the wall of our room, the large wall mirror was broken and covered with a piece of tape, and the mini fridge in our room was unplugged with no outlet in reach of the cord. I don't expect luxury from a Microtel, but the ones I've stayed in before we're at least clean and nice looking. This one was downright dingy. If we were doing it over, we'd spend more or less and stay somewhere else.
