Overview

The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton is voted one of the top 10 resorts in Florida by Condé Nast Traveler Choice Awards 2018 and is perfectly situated between Fort Lauderdale and Miami along Hollywood's Gold Coast.

Guests can soak up the breezy South Florida lifestyle at this playground by the sea. The oceanfront resort features Kids’ Club, two beachside pools, Dip & Slide Waterpark, and a private beach with a variety of water sports options such as kayaking, jet skiing, and paddle boarding.

Spa lovers can indulge at the Diplomat Spa, where the sound and feel of the ocean inspires healing therapies and soothing treatments. Yoga enthusiasts will enjoy a peaceful sunrise stretch on the sand.

Guests have a pick from 8 culinary concepts led by celebrity chefs. This includes Monkitail, which was voted #1 Best New Restaurant of 2017 by USA Today's reader's choice, and Four Diamond AAA-rated Diplomat Prime.

The sun-splashed and spacious rooms and suites feature breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean or Intracoastal Waterway. Touches of vintage-inspired art, luxurious amenities, and plush bedding create cozy rooms.

Family-friendly activities are available at and near the resort. A trolley goes downtown to the historic culture and museums, and a water taxi ride will take guests to Fort Lauderdale attractions. Everglades National Park is only a short 30 minutes away from the hotel.

Guests can take a stroll along the historic Hollywood Boardwalk, or explore Miami's South Beach Art Deco District on Lincoln Road, or Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Boulevard. World-class shopping is available at Bal Harbour and Aventura Mall.

Pool was always too crowded. Unless you arrive before sunrise to reserve chairs at the pool or on the beach, you won't have a place to relax. Valet parking is expensive, timing to bring the car around not great - need to plan ~20-30 minutes in advance. The tipping is out of control. Included on most every bill is a 20% tip, but then advised that amount is shared among all service providers and inc...

Felt captive and forced to use overpriced food and services. Resort fees but associated services were not onsite. Meals and drinks were grossly overpriced. Nothing in close walking proximity. Beach was very narrow. No coffee makers in room or free coffee services. Hotel prohibited and policed the possession of outside drinks or food, even on the beach.

Not the same Diplomat we remember. We’ve been staying at the Diplomat for 18 years. Ever since we were married here in Jan 2004 when it was a Starwood Westin property. We have tried coming back at least for a week each year. This year has been difficult because it’s not the same Dip. The resort is way overcrowded and the staff is swamped. That said, the hotel staff has been excellent under obvious...

Pros (+) Pool and beach were great.
Cons (-) Rooms had only 2 towels and I had 4 people in my party. I ended up asking for more towels. I had to beg for toilet paper every time. Didn’t like the fact that we had to wear bracelets as if we were in an all inclusive resort when we were not. They didn’t want us to talk loud or laught a lot in our rooms. I have children and I had to constantly tell them to whisper because they didn’t want noise in...

Pros (+) Location of hotel, Rooms were nice
Cons (-) Poor Customer Service 45 min line just to check into your room I understand it was Memorial Day weekend, but over staff and prepare for large crowds. We were a wedding and booked 95 rooms they did nothing to accommodate us. Trash was left in hallways for 2+ days Front desk wouldn't give us enough wrist bands for pool. I was overall shocked, very poor hospitality!

Pros (+) I stayed at this property 3 years ago. Then the hotel was a bit ragged and showing its age. Since Hilton has taken over they've done an amazing job fixing the hotel.
Cons (-) It's pricey but I was on an expense account

Pros (+) Being on the beach was amazing and the faculties for the event was one of the best I have ever seen
Cons (-) The balconies were all closed off, the staff were rude and argued with you, no place to get food during the day. This please looks like a high end resort but has the amanties of a best western

Pros (+) Location of the hotel is great, beautiful pool and patio, Great staff overall.
Cons (-) The hotel is under heavy construction switching from Westin to Hilton So if you like the sound of pile drivers at 6h00am every morning.... Nothing was told or specified when we made our reservation that the hotel was a construction site!!! Not professional at all!
